*Michelle* dunno about a fashion show hahahaha, may even end up coming home with nothing yet, which I doubt will be the case. Just had a big cleanout of some of my daggier stuff from the wardrobe.

    Naomi Hellooooo.

Well no time to stop and chat, had to sit down cause my feet were hurting, from being on them for most of the day. Have dishes to do, floor to sweep and mop, washing to hang out and then I might be able to relax a bit. Just under 2 hrs to the IL's arrive.

Thanks to everyone for Andrew's b/day wishes. I will pass them onto him when I see him in a couple of hours.

    Love

Hello girls!! Wow so much to catch up on.

Jen Hello! Its great to hear from you again. LOL at Thomas, I just held ice on Matilda's head for 15 minutes because of a run into the corner of the refridgerator... 8-[

Naomi its like that sometimes catching 5 minutes to catch up

Kat well...tomorrows the big shopping day! I hopeyou have a great time!!

katanya IKWYM about the sickness..it is scary and all you can do is see how Felix goes. Matilda went to an ABC centre here and loved the girls there. Now at the Family Day Care I only worry that she may get bored LOL

Ambah you are my hero... I sooooo need to get to the gym or pool or something!! My walks aren't doing it & I realise that even a year after Matilda I still have that belly bulge.... 8-[

*Michelle* More cakes? mmmm....post one to QLD? LOL Thats really cute that Kimberley is helping look after Alex

Michellehow many little ones go to your bed in the morning? We were just wanting to get Matilda to come in for a cuddle in the morning and then we thought...what happens if we have more? We already have 2 dogs in the bed in the mornings & us & MAtilda....we'll have to get a bigger bed LOL!

Hello to everyone else! Sorry with no more personals...

We had playgroup today for the first time in a month which went well. Mum was a bit surprised at how full on Matilda is....LOL & I of course just put her to work & don't feel bad about it anymore Then we went to the park after her nap & she had a full tanty when I was trying to put her in the car, Mum hadn't experienced one of those yet...so she said its an eye opener for her because she can't remember us ever being so head strong LOL

Sleep is going better. One good night and then one bad night etc. But when a bad night is only once in the night, nothing like it used to be YAY!

    Hey Girls

Hope you have all had good days. Once again Joshua is finally asleep so I get some "me" time. He sleeps pretty well now from about 7pm to 5am with only one bad spot around 2-4am where he just wont resettle himself.

Kathryn - hope Andrew is having a great party. I hope that you are finally getting a chance to relax. (you'll need all your strength for the big shopping day tomorrow)

Katanya - We are sending Joshua to a Steiner play group next year. When we took him down to the school fair he just loved it and didnt want to leave. And because we are immunising him homeopathically they are totally cool with that. we wont get any s^&*t from people about making our own choices.

mitch4now - Joshua is a little handful. Is so into everything. My own personal monster (in a good way). He reminds me of Yoda in return of the Jedi I think(well one of them)- when he goes through Luke skywalkers bags. He is really alert and really inquisitive. Thanksgod he is past the "10 minute power nap stage".

Christy - After Joshua has a big stack I get frightened to take him outside. I think people may start to think I hit him or something. When he was 10 months he fell of our bed onto the floor boards and had a really huge bruise. I took him to the doctor straight away cause I was scared he did some damage. At the same time DH had an operation on his hand and it was all bandaged and in a sling. The Dr started to question how he did it and made me feel really bad.

    Love

    Jen

LOL Christy! If i'm your hero, then I think you should see some of the women that go to my gym! I would almost kill to be that trim, taut and FIT! They are amazing, and half of them are Mums of little ones too. I'm just hoping that if I keep it up for another year I may just get down to being twice their size, instead of thrice their size, lol

blergh... did I mention that I ate a whole pizza tonight?? 8-[
and you wonder why I need to go to the gym, ROFL!!!

Anyway, I'm off to bed to sleep of that huge meal... night night! xox

The main thing Ambah is that you went......

After a year I still havent found the courage to enter the gym. I have some weird notion in my head that I am too fat and everyone will look at me and think what a slob????

But if id just wake up to myself and realise that I need to go to the gym to help get rid of the weight I'd be fine.

Babies - What do they do to our brains???? LOL

Aaah yes... the gym... I remember the gym. One day I'll have to go back.

Well we've had headlice here this week. I discovered one in my 4 y.o's hair and spent a whole day treating her hair (she has tight curly hair... but at least it's very blonde so you can see the crawlies *UGH*) and also did Zeke's, the blankets, sheets, pillowcases, towels, hats etc etc you get the picture.

So I'm dreading having a look in her hair today and seeing more that escaped the wrath of me yesterday!

But the weather has been spectacular up here over the last few days and we've spent most of the time down at the beach or at the park lapping it up.

Hope you're all having a spectacular day

lice....I was waiting for them because the day care had some a few months ago. One thing I found is that during head lice season *lol* a lot of mums come into the vet clinic & buy flea spray....apparently it works a treat and only takes one treatment, but its pretty toxic stuff... :-k don't think I would be using it....one of the vets tried it after she got lice from sky diving helmuts & it worked within a few hours. Luckily Matilda hasn't gotten it yet *fingers crossed*

EEWWWWW lice from sky diving helmets! Yucky... makes you think about where you rest your head.... like at movie cinemas, trying on hats at shops etc

Gabrielle and Zeke were quite pleased that they had "beetles" hiding in their hair 8-[

  10. #118

Rofl @ being pleased about having beetles in your hair. We went through it with Kameron a couple of months ago, but he was the only one in the whole playgroup apparently out of the 3 sessions he goes to that had it, and the hairdresser said he just had the eggs, oh plus she said I had it as well. Of course we treated that same night, but makes me wonder if he really did have it in a way.

Well today is the big day.. A bit nervous and excited. LOL. I hope I am not too fussy for the poor girls taking me 8-[ Will be able to spend a couple hundred dollars so that will be cool and if I go over that figure O I can get the money that is mine out of my mums bank and put it back into mine.

Anyway 20 mins till playgroup so I had better get myself organised.

    Love

Christy - You are right about the dog flea spray. My SIL had headlice for years and she also gave them to me once. When we got our dog we sprayed the whole house before she came home and we found SIL's headlice had gone and never came back.

Have fun on your shopping trip Kathryn

Not much going on here at the moment. Kimberley is at day care today so it is nice and quiet \/

A quick post. I have heard that Advantage Kitten is really good for treating lice and nits. Don't know if it works, just something I had heard. We use NADS here.

    Gotta go

I soooo hate nits! I had to treat my eldest every weekedn for 6 months, cos she sat next to the kid who had them constantly and whose mother never treated them! it was so mean of the mum! But we couldn't stand it any longer and Arron went up the school and went off! Haven't had them here for awhile, seems like a little kid thing, Jordan is in grade 5 now and they don't seem to have them, *touchwood*

Hope you have a very successful shopping trip Kathryn, and yay at the spending money! You should get some nice stuff for that money.

Ambah- Don't be so hard on yourself, cos it's not easy to get motivated to go to the gym and you are so that's great, are you seeing some pleasing results?

Christy- things sound better with Matilda sleeping. Most mornings we only have Jemma in our bed, but on the weekends it sometimes is all 4 trying to fit, we have a queen size bed but really need a King size for 4 extras LOL. I don't mind invaders after 7ish but any earlier and they are returned to there beds. I need sleep too.

Jen- Hope Josh's bruising is starting to fade, it is terrible when people think you are doing things to your kids. Even though you're not you still feel bad don't you.

katanya- hopefully Felix doesn't get too many bugs from creche, you can only try it and see, and it is improtant for you to have some time to be you.

Hi Naomi- long time no see! ykwim.

    Hello to anyone I missed

Well the flights are bbboked, I am arriving in QLD Thursday 18th Aug at about 2pm. I was hoping that maybe some of you would be free that arvo for a coffee and a chat. I am planning on getting a taxi from the airport to my sister's in Wooloowin and then as they are not home till about 6pm thought it would give me time to maybe meet up with some of you. I know it is sort of late in the arvo so if it's not possible then maybe we can try to orgai=nise something else. But my sis is planning some outings so that would be perfect as I know she's at work. I am leaving early Mon morning. Let me know if any of you can do it!

Well Jess just woke up better get her out of bed and give her lunch.

    See ya
    Michelle

    Hi Girls

Just another quickie to let you know how it went. 3.5hrs we were shopping for spent most of the time in Target as they had stuffed reduced with another 30% off on top of that. So in target I got a pair of jean, pair of black pants, pair of new bras, a dusky pink jacket, 2 long sleeved t-shirts and 1 short sleeved t-shirt for $145.00 Most expensive thing was the jeans @ $40.00 and the cheapest the short sleeved t-shirt at $8.00, we then did all the "boutiques" crossroads, supre, bia etc etc and I only got another long sleeved t-shirt in Crossroads for $7.50 Tried plenty on but you needed to be as thin as a tooth pick and definitely not had 2 kids for it too look good.

So I allowed myself $200 and came in just over $150 so I may take myself back on Sunday to Target to have another look through, as I wasn't sure how much time the other girls had cause I knew one of them has to work tonight, and i really need to find a new black skirt too.

So not bad if I averaged everything out it would have been about $19 for each thing.

    Love

Woohoo on your clothes shopping Kat!! That is a lot of clothes for under $150!!! Don't you just love the sales at Target, I have been browsing the racks at our Target for the past few weeks too, theres some good stuff there.
Now you just have to take piccies of your new outifits for us!

Thanks Michelle yeah it is pretty hard to get motivated to go... most mornings I would rather just sloth around the house and on the internet.
There hasnt been a huge weightloss, but thats probably because I eat WAY too much crap these days. But I am getting musclier, and I can feel my overall fitness improving... so I guess its worth it.
I will try my hardest to be able to make it there to meet you Michelle! Would you be thinking of meeting in the city then, or somewhere closer to Wooloowin? Are you going to post it in member meet ups? or would it be better to have a quieter one with just us baby buddies girls?

Yeah that sounds great Michelle I will try as well...its the play group day, but mum will still be here so I hope by then she can help out more wth Matilda... I mean I'm not going to down play how big a help it is to have someone sweep & mop the floors for me, but it would be great if she could mind Matilda... we're getting there

    HI girls,

I really wasn't sure what to do about meeting up cos I don't know Brisbane much. How far from Wooloowin are you girls? the only place I really remembr near my sisters place was the shopping centre, I thnkit was Lutchswhce (bad spelling) and that didn't have much there. We also caught a train into the city and we went to the water, I am assuming that is Southbank or something similar. Thing is if I am going to catch a taxi from the airport, it doesn't have to be straight to my sister's I could catch a taxi to wherever we were meeting, as long as it's not much further away, don't want to pay $50 iykwim. I would love for you girls to come up with a plan for me as I am clueless. I am flying Virgin, arriving in Bris at approx2.15pm. I so hope you girls can meet me, cos it will be so nice to meet you.

Ambah- you don't drive, is that right? How do you get around?

Christy- it would be nice if you could get away for a second, not that I wouldn't love to see Matilda, but sometimes we need grownup time. That's what my trip is all about. I almost caved and thought about taking Jess but then you need so much stuff and I just want a break, I know I will be dying to go home on Sunday, but I have to sleep on Sunday night too. A very hard thing to do leaving the kids for days!

Arron and I are arguing, just the usual crap, so he isn't here atm, what's new is my opinion, he has hardly seen the kids for the last 2 weeks cos of being busy fixing his car and playing footy etc etc. Oh well, he says he'll be back later and originally he was sleeping at his mum's we'll see....

Have a good weekend girls, no doubt I'll be in here tomorrow.

    Cheers Michelleq

oh Michelle yuck at Aaron, I hope he comes home & helps out! I don't think I would survive without having DH around to help out all the time.

I live really close to the airport Michelle...15 minute drive, so I should be able to pick you up
