Great to hear that Felix is getting into the avocado Katanya!!! Hopefully it will put some weight on him, plus they've got so much good stuff in them!
All is well at my end. We had our QLD BB BBQ today, however as it was pouring with rain we arranged to have it at my place instead. LOL I didnt meet anyone new though... have already known Bec & Jules for years, and Christy for a while too of course! Luckily my house was still relatively clean, otherwise I probably would have been too embarrased to offer!!

Glad your christmas party went well Ambah, I unfortunately had to work and the little girl I look after isn't that great at party's for very long..but perhaps one day I can come up meet you guys for a pram push!
Yeah the avos are going in well, but they make his poo stinky..sigh it's goodbye to those more pleasent BF'd poos that smell sweeter..not sure how much weight it will put on but he's happy and VERY bouncy so that's is important.
Felix is managing to sit up quite well too, I have been surrounding him with pillows everywhere, as before I didn't do it and he had a few crashes which really hurt him...poor little guy..
it has been so raining this weekend..it's great for the dam and the trees but not for drying my cloth nappies! as long as I get some space in between!
Woke up with the feeling of razor blades in my throat (DP said I sound all husky like a tranny, LMFAO) and I'm really, really tired.
So I try to nap with Aidyn this morning, only the bloody cat wakes me up THREE times to be let out, then back in, then he breaks something in the kitchen, so I lost my nap
Aidyn is pretty cranky too, so maybe he has what I have??
Plus a couple of other drama's which I wont bother going in to...
Oh yeah, plus I just went outside and walkes straight into a spiders web!! *shudders*
Ambah: I hope you feel better soon, nothing worse than being sick and having to sleep when you can with your baby and then not being able to!
We are having a lazy day today too, must be the rainy weather..my nappies aren't drying..lucky I have so many I can wait..but still my favourite fitted ones are out there!
Well Kameron needed me for something this afternoon and I left Lachlan who was at my feet. By time I got back (couple of mins) he was behind the lounge suite playing with the bar stool that i had put there. So definitely on the go !!! HEAVEN HELP ME.
lol Kathryn, I can definately wait for that..I like to know he is where I left him!
Felix gets cranky now if he's left on his back he like me to set him up amoungst his pillows so he can play with things and see everything..he's a real sticky beak just like me Lachie says..
He actually OPENED his mouth for avocado this afternoon..it is a real step forward as we've been doing this solids thing for 3 weeks now and he's juts getting the idea to chew, not choke..he also drank heaps (well a few mouthfuls of water) I have every kind of cup and what does he do..drinks it straight from the cup without spout thingies...of course this is what you get from a baby that hates bottles..I just hope my next baby like them as I have so many unused bottles, sipper cups, cups with handles etc..*sigh* so much money wasted..
one little step forward (or crawl for some ) each day huh?

Don't worry Kat, wont be too much longer before I can properly sympathise with you about that, LOL... Aidyn is getting closer & closer!
Thats great that Felix is taking to the solids now Katanya!! and LOL about the drinking cup!! Luckily Aidyn will drink water from a bottle, but he always gets ferociously excited whenever we drink something in front of him, so he would probably enjoy drinking from a cup more (just like mummy & daddy!) but I wont let him for now - its just too messy!!

We got Aidyns 6 month injections done today (a month later, cause his last ones were done at 5, instead of 4 months) and he was SUCH a BRAVE BOY!!! He only let out a little yell when the needle went in, and that was it!! No crying or screaming, and I've just popped him straight into bed, so hopefully he will be asleep soon
Other than that his teethies are still giving him a fair bit of grief...
Plus he has taken to screeching as loudly and high pitched as he can, just for fun it looks like too!! #-o
Poor Aidyn! Hope he feels better, maybe it's the combo of the teething and injections!
It's funny Ambah, Felix loves our water glasses too, but I like my water really cold and he doesn't! I give him the boiled water in an avent bottle with handles and no lid, he really like the "control factor!"
I have to go and weigh him today..d-day as if he still hasn't gained (or lost egad!) it will be time to visit the paedrictian..I just want a BFing friendly one as the last thing I want is to be told to suppliment him as I really don't think it's my milk supply anyhow..hopefully he's put on heaps and it wont be an issue!
well i am back..it's only 5 mins down the road and we had mixed news..
he has put on 80 grams in 2 weeks which is okay for a baby his age, but the clinic nurse was a little concerned about the fact his ribs are sticking out...
he weighs 7.26 kilos now and it puts him in the bottom percentile for his age for boys..she refered us to the paedrictrician as he is showing all the right signs of being content, getting enough etc..but doesn't seem to be gaining weight! i said i was happy to see a paedrictrician as long as he was breastfeeding friendly and would check for other things..I am not stressed, because at the end of the day it could just be his metobolism but i think it's time to check just to make sure something else isn't causing his food not to absorb.
the thing is i may have to accept if Felix has a small formula suppliment it isn't going to take away from his BFing, he'll still have all the benifits as well...just getting him to drink the stuff will be the tricky bit! anyhow that would be the least of my worries!
