    Hi everyone, I'm back!

We had the most wonderful time away... I really did not want to come home again! We stayed in a 'country cottage' which was surrounded by rolling hills and rainforest. It was just such a change from the city... everytime we went for a drive somewhere, we were ooh-ing and ahh-ing at the mountainous scenery... it was magnificent
And to my surprise Aidyn wasn't too disrupted by going away either. His daytimes naps didn't work too well (he never went down for more than 30 mins) but both nights we were there he slept for a good 12 hours straight, until 8am each morning! \/
It was pretty depressing coming back home actually, and that is why it has taken me a couple of days to get back into things and get back online here.

Katanya - Oh no, that is not so great news about Felix's chest infection... I will [-o< for him to get better really soon, and for everything to still be ok to go ahead at the RCH this week. I can't imagine what an awful feeling it must be to prepare yourself for it all, only to have to postpone and go through it all again.

Christy hon... I'm sorry to hear that you are having such a rough trot with Matilda atm. I hope Riverton can come up with some really good advice and ideas for you...
If you ever feel like things are getting too much for you at home, you can come over here anytime you need and have a cuppa (and choccies too!), and hopefully Aidyn will be a good distraction for Matilda too...

Happy Birthday to Shayla!!! :happybday: Less than 2 weeks now and I will be joining you all in the 1yr + thread!

Lulu - that is fantastic about Mitchell sleeping!

Yvette - Great idea you just gave me there about attaching his PJ pants to his top! I have a gorgeous little dinosaur PJ set for Aidyn, and the bottoms have feet on them... but within 10 seconds they are usually around his knees! Looks like I will be getting my sewing kit out!
Oh dear that Angus has learnt to circumnavigate those chairs... I hope you can figure out some way to bar it off from him!
I am dreading the day when Aidyn gets around the ironing board barrier I have set up to protect our TV and playstation etc (as we dont have a proper TV cabinet, just a little shelf for it)

Marisa - WOW @ Kayne for being able to take so many steps now!

Hmmm... wish I was in Sydney for that Bonds auditioning too... Although Aidyn's the right age, I don't think there's much chance of me getting him into a Bond's '0' without him looking ridiculous, LOL!

I'm so impressed, it looks like Aidyn is down for the night already!
He has been sleeping so much lately that I have even been a bit worried about it! He will sleep 12 hours at night (usually from 8pm-8am) then he will have a 2 hr morning nap, and a 2 hr afternoon nap, and sometimes an extra hours in the early evening as well... :-k I'm sure it wont last long though.... and I have probably jinxed myself by writing this!

Anyway... I have hundreds more posts to read, so I'd better end this here...

Hey Ambah great to see you back, sounds like your time away was definitely wonderful, very hard to get back into your life again when you don't want to come home!

Yvette I said in my other post (that I lost) about baby sleeping bags, have you heard of them, when you were writing about angus and being worried he was cold, you can get them from David Jones for $29.95 or Big W for $9-$12? I have one for Felix just waiting for it to get cold enough as it's polar fleece.

Hope things are going better for you Christy tonight ? Maybe sleep school is a good idea, it may be a whole new thing now she's older? :Hugs: anyhow as I think you're amazing, you've had a series of very difficult challenges, and you've handled them wonderfully, never doubt that.

As for Felix, he has a runny nose and cough, I bought the antibiotics, but not sure if they'll do anything anyhow as they are for bacteria. I will ring the hospital in the morning and ask whether we should still come up. Because the first day we were due to see the specialists anyhow, it may still be possible. Not keen on having to postpone, but maybe they can wait a few days and get another booking date later in the week, anyhow will see in the morning. I have packed just in case.

So if you don't hear from me tomorrow you'll know I've gone up, if not you'll here plenty from me because I'll need some distractions..

Hey Ambah, sounds like it was a lovely holiday. Hope you’re getting some good rest yourself while Aidyn is doing all this sleeping. Maybe he’s having a growth spurt? Is he eating a bit more atm?

I think sometimes Angus sleeps longer because he’s conked himself out so much. When he’s up he’s very active, seems to only have 2 speeds, full on or sleeping, lol.

The buttons on the new PJs are too hard to do up, it was a good idea but doesn’t work. The pants are staying on though, so they’re still good. We thought about getting the sleeping bags, but weren’t sure how he’d react. I think they would definitely have been a good thing to have when he was a bit younger, but it was hot at night then.

Actually he’s still in the PJs now, has stopped to look at Hi 5, it’s the longest I’ve ever seen him concentrate on the TV. He’s bouncing up and down to the music, it’s so cute!

Hey Yvette Funnily enough, he has actually been eating less... these past 2 weeks have been a nightmare to try and get him to eat his solids... maybe his gums/mouth are hurting from teething? It could also be from the formula change, as DP bought toddler formula last week cause Woolworths ran out of his normal stuff... and I thought it wouldnt matter, as he is basically 12 months anyway... but now I'm wondering if its the reason for his different appetite... So we have gone back to 2 bottles of Progress formula per day (instead of toddler), and one bottle of cows milk. Yesterday was the first day that he ate his solids properly again, so maybe it did make a difference! :-k

    Hiya Kat
As we speak I am making plans for a little party/afternoon tea/picnic for him on Saturday the 7th of May. His Bday is on Mon the 2nd, but he will just have to wait 5 extra days for his cake! I would have it on Sunday the 1st, but isn't that Mothers day? Can someone please confirm that for me??
For his pressies he is so far getting a Fisher Price chatter telephone, some books, over $100 worth of winter clothes from MIL (we already have them cause we needed them for our holiday) and not sure what else.
We did buy him one of those wooden push along trolleys full of wooden blocks for his bday too, but he got so bored the other week that we decided to just give it to him then, to save out own sanity really, LOL!
I am going to invite my family, plus Christy and Matilda, my cousin and her baby, and Becka (Beckibee on these forums) and her sister and her neice.
We will have to do something seperate with DP's family, but I dont know what...

Hey Katanya - we havent heard from you yet... so I guess that means you have gone up? I will call you at the ward in the next couple of days then to confirm when is a good time for us to come and visit. Huge , I hope everything is going ok, and Felix is feeling better from his cold/chest infection.

Argh, really!? Why on earth did I think it was the first Sunday?? Hmmm... maybe I should try and plan his party for the 1st of May then, but I don't know if that is enough notice. Will have to get some feedback on that from people who are coming. Thanks Kat

Ambah, Father's day is the 1st Sunday in September .. maybe you got the two confused!

Well Asha is 10 months today my baby girl is growing so quickly. it won't be long and it will be her birthday. I think we are just going to do an afternoon tea type thing for her birthday ... probably a princess theme ... not sure will have to go to Lombards and see what they have in the way of decorations etc ... we will probably have to be inside as it will most likely be raining. Don't know yet will have to start thinking about it and get started on the invitations!!

Asha stood on her own today not holding on to anything so I don't think she will be far off walking now ... we bought her a playschool walker thing that converts from a sit on scooter to a walker for $40 from Target on Saturday. She loves it and it is so funny to see her scoot on the ride on.

We have been to the doctors today and Asha has been diagnosed with Eczma She has it right acros her forehead and a small amount on her eyelids and all around her ears. We already use Omo Sensitive washing powder and we do not use any soap or shampoo in her bath. There is nothing she has eaten in the last two weeks that has been any different (well that I can remember!! Must check with day care) so we have some cream to put on it and see if that make a difference. I am so sad for her. She rubs it all the time and gets so upset! Hopefully this cream will work wonders for her and we can get it under control!!! I also have some paw paw ointment to put on it once we get it under control again. Anyone else have any tips???

Em & Jack are off to the zoo tomorrow with vacation care .. they are so excited and it means that I can get some work done. The teacher I work with is coming over tomorrow to help me plan the term out. We are going to get organised so our DOTT days can be spent prepping rather than planning.

Better go, the house is too quiet for my liking LOL ...

    Cheers

    hiya!!

Sorry I have been a bit quiet...taking some well needed mummy time. I went to work today And yesterday I went shopping with a friend and left Matilda with Daddy...where of course she was perfect, but thats okay. This morning she had a tantrum with him trying to feed her, in his work clothes no less... I did try to tell him, so he had to get changed quickly...

Ambah I sent you an email, I can't wait!! How much fun!! \/

awww Kelly I'm sorry to hear that Asha's got ezcema, hopefully you can pin it down to something!

Matilda's been okay this weekend, but we have an appointment at the child health nurse tomorrow to help me organise everything, food/sleeping/tantrums...

Ok...DH is feeding Matilda now, I've got dinner in the new crock pot and she's due for a bath now too....I'd better go help

    Hi everyone

Just a quick note to say we are home again, I rang the hospital in the morning and they said to come up and let the drs make the decision. I decided to go anyhow as at least they could tell me if he was really sick. He was vomiting up bikkies in the car, and was hot and feverish when we arrived, should have just turned around then, took us 2 hours to get a verdict, no way would the anthethisists do him with a cold.
Turns out good decision as he's just getting worse and worse, won't even feed properly, screamed all night last night, he JUST went to sleep half an hour ago..I am pretty frazzled, I might take him into the Gold Coast hospital if his breathing and eating dont pick up..at least he is having a good sleep now..

*sigh* being a parent is very hard work.

I hear you katanya... such hard work *hugs*

We've just had a hard time at the CHN giving suggestions to get Matilda to eat and over tantrums... since we've been home, Matilda's had a few hours of tantrums on/off... and we've tried everything, but she worked herself up so much she's collapsed asleep...so after having a good cry, coming on here to seek advice, I'm going to go lay down as well.

Well we just had a therapist associated with QLD health call and is coming in to help with behavioural feeding problems! I had no idea what was available to me but apparently the ECHN referred Matilda's feeding problems on to this therapist who is coming with a behaviour therapist to help sort out the tantrums & not eating with Matilda. Its not for a few weeks, but they have given me some suggestions (most of which we've tried) and will go from there.

Matilda ate all her dinner & some extra's from DH's dinner tonight ie, steamed veges off his plate!!! Of course, but the minute I tried to feed some, she spit it all out and refused any more, then DH came back & she ate more!!! GGRRRRR.... ](*,) I'm just going to have to have a glass of wine before I even try to feed her to relax myself...

ok...Its like my own diary in here at the moment...

Today has been a complete turn around... :-k she's had one two hour nap, ate breakky (mind you it was just pureed fruit) drank her bottle well and had...drum roll half a sandwich for lunch!!! and some pieces of banana!! WT?? I made some pureed veges and thought I'd sit down with my sandwich and eat with her and then I thought I'd just try it and I smeared some of the vege's on half a piece of bread and folded it and tried it with her & it worked~! I put tiny pieces on her high chair & she picked them up and ate them, I was sitting there laughing and crying at the same time after a month of battles and finally giving in and going to get help for her to eat something more than a puree from me (she'll eat sandwiches at day care and will eat even brocolli stalks for DH, just nothing from me)...so one day at a time and we might have a baby that will eat regular food soon! YAY.... next challange is water...

Oh Katanya, I'm really sorry to hear that Felix is so sick... I hope there is no need for you to have to take him to the hostpital, and he is on the mend and feeling much better soon. to both of you.

Christy - I'm also really sorry to hear what a rough time you have been having... I feel pretty useless cause I don't have any advice that hasn't already been said. I think thats great though that those 2 therapists are coming to visit you guys to help sort some things out.
If its any consolation, Aidyn is having a terrible time with his solids too and is pretty much only eating 1 meal of solids in total per day, even though I offer him 4...
I'm glad you've had a better day today, thats awesome that she gobbled up that sandwich!
I find a food that Aidyn never usually rejects is a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich, cut into little peices of course. Not as good as vegies, I know, but I guess at least its one thing he will eat!
Hey are you able to make it to playgroup tomorrow?

Lastnight we had the biggest poo disaster I have ever seen... it went everywhere, all they way up Aidyn's back (up to his neck!) and all over his cot, and all over me too.... *shudder*... at least DP was there to help me clean that one up!
And today he managed to get into his Sudocream tub... all over his clothes, the floor, his body... luckily he didn't try to eat any!

I think I am on some sort of PMS 'high' today... I have done 3 loads of laundry, cleaned and vacuumed the living and dining rooms, cleaned the kitchen and the toilet... and am about to go and do the shower! =D>

    Goodness, so much happening!

Hugs to Katanya and Christy, things are pretty tough for you both at the moment. Hope Felix is ok Katanya, and maybe the food thing is at a turniong point Christy!

I mainly butted in to tell Kelly that Jemma has excema and the dr said the trick is moisturise, moisturise, moisturise! SHe said to use sorbolene with vitamin e or aloe vera 4 times a day and if it is really bad then short stints with sigmacorte (which is cortisone) mixed with sorbolene 2 times a day and straight sorbolene 2 times a day. She also said no soap, but I find that Jemma's flares up in chlorine (when we swim) or sometimes just in the bath water as sometimes we can smell the chlorine. She said to add a palm full of sorbolene to the running bath water. I also used some QV products, flare up oil and excema cream from the chemist, these also did some good but the sorbolene treatment did too and was much cheaper. It is tough to do it 4 times a day, we try to make it 2 times, in the morning and night. She also suggested not giving baths every day but every second day, maybe just giving a wash on the inbetween day.

Hope you get something from that and that she starts to feel better
    cheers Michelle

Well yesterday was fantastic at the eating front, but unfortunately I'm wearing this morning's breakfast... I guess its one day at a time. I find she'll eat from everyone but me, and will eat from me only things that she can feed herself... [-X such a battle....

On another front though...we are going away this weekend, and I'm a bit scared...I mean with sleeping and tantrums etc... so fingers crossed we get through this.

    Thanks Michelle

It seems to have calmed down again now. We are using PawPaw ointment which the CHN recommended to us and it seems to be working. We think we have worked out the trigger which was a tin of egg custard so I am going to eliminate egg form her diet and see. So that is egg & banana off the list (banana makes her throw up) and we will see what happens after swimming tomorrow and see if that makes it any worse!

Still no teeth!!!!!!!! They are both going to come through at once but I wish they would hurry up!

Better go ... work to be done (ie washing)

    Cheers

    Hi guys,

Kelly, I suppose you’ve considered a food allergy re the eczma. I had it behind the knees as a kid but never had a food allergy I know of though. The sorbolene sounds good to me, there’s nothing that stuff can’t do. Next time we go to Chaddy we’re gonna check out that Lush shop for soap for Angus’ cradle cap, another mum told me about it and it sounds like it has lots of lovely soaps & lotions & stuff that’s actually good for your skin. Oh, I just thought too, if it’s on her face has anyone used any different baby wipes or anything on her face? Hope the zoo trip was fun for your kids. Mine used to love vacation care too.

Hi Katanya, so sorry Felix has been unwell & missed the biopsy. You’re doing so well to cope with it all; hope he feels better soon.

Hugs again Christy. Glass of wine & time out sounds good. Eating/feeding is always a bit stressful at this age I think. Angus still won’t eat anything on a spoon without pulling it out of his mouth and waving it around, makes us want to scream after he was such a good eater for so long. So now it’s all finger food, and only one piece at a time or he’ll chuck it everywhere, & it takes patience to sit there & watch him eat. We take turns sometimes, or I’m at my puter & I know when he starts yelling he’s ready for another piece. Try to stay relaxed (easier said than done).

Lol Ambah at the poo disaster. (sorry). I got lucky the other day – 3 times Angus did big poos when I wasn’t there, ie picking up kids or whatever & DH copped it. Lucky for me but not much fun for DH. I just had to wash the sheets & blanket (teddies got away still clean this time – another time I had to wash all the teddies as well). Envy your pms cleaning high, I’m hoping some nesting behaviour will kick in soon coz I feel I’m falling behind with the house.

Oh, have just read Kelly about the egg custard. If we had any reactions we’d be in trouble because we are so ad hoc with what we feed Angus, didn’t do the one food at a time thing or anything. He’s even had peanut butter which I don’t think we’re supposed to have yet.

Well, I’ve been a bit busy the last few days. Had ultrasound on Tues, (all fine again), hospital appointment on Wed, kitty to vet yesterday, (just a vaccination), DD going on camp next week, have done a bit of actual housework…. But mainly I’ve been upset since the hospital told me they do not attempt vaginal births for monochorionic twins!!!!!!! There’s been tears & lots of phone calls & emails & DH & I are busy trying to get more info. I want to know firstly what is the ‘research’ they are relying on in making this new blanket policy? Obviously the concerns are to do with the cords & the placenta, but it’s like extracting teeth to get anyone to discuss it properly. If babies & me are healthy & first one is head down, I want very good reasons why I shouldn’t even attempt it!!! Will try to keep my ranting on this one mostly confined to the preggy post, but wanted to tell everyone how I’m feeling right now.

In other news, we are adopting an 8 year old male eclectus parrot, and he is arriving Sunday!!! (was s’posed to be today but it’s just been postponed). We’re so thrilled & excited, we’ve wanted one for ages but they’re very expensive, this one is free to a good home, and we were the lucky good home picked out of heaps (his answering machine ran hot for days.

Angus is making a mess with some steamed veggie pieces at the moment. He’s just started giving cuddles & all sorts of fancy waves & dancing, extreme gorgeousness!
