Good job on the teeth Baxter!
BJ's first was like that, the second wasn't too bad either, and actually at the moment I can't complain about his teething either!

Nah MIL lives about 45 minutes away....when Grand StepPa was coming today DH said if he turned up with my MIL, they would be sent home...it all stems back to her misinterpreting a message that was sent to everyone when I was in labour....she thinks we only sent it to her...but we didnt...its al stupidity, but her loss.

    hi everyone.

well it's a bit hard to do personals now that we're on a new thread... oh well.

dd's quite grumpy these days and i'm hoping once she crawls properly (as opposed to going a few 'steps' and then collapsing) she will be happy to get around exploring things. babyproofing is going to be HARD as ds is very fond of lego and tiny little plastic toys which tend to get scattered round the place. i think i'll also have to mop the kitchen floor a little more often, which i'm not looking forward to as it's one of my least favourite household tasks.

gave dd mashed banana (her first food) a couple of weeks ago but as soon as the spoon hit her mouth she vomited - luckily it was all captured on video so she can enjoy watching it when she's older . then she was sick with a hideous cold for a week and when i eventually tried to give her panadol she had the same response, vomiting when i put the syringe in her mouth. so on the weekend i tried rice cereal, which she accepted a tiny bit of, but since then she's had diarrhoea and i don't know if it's an allergic reaction to rice or a side-effect of the virus she's had... is there such thing as a rice allergy? our solids journey is not progressing too well so far!

i'm still exhausted and finding myself falling asleep sometimes when i feed dd, which would be great if i didn't have ds to look after too... i long for a decent stretch of sleep and can't help hoping every night that i might get it .

hope all you mums and bubs are doing well and - for those of you in melbourne - enjoying the holiday.

    Hello everyone
Hope it's ok for me to join. I've been meaning to for about 7 months now... But I'm sure you can understand.
Sorry, I don't have time to go back and read all the previous posts, will just try to start from here.
Sounds like some of your bubbies are already mobile! Well, I suppose that's not too uncommon for this age. Aric is most decidedly immobile.... though he likes to 'bounce' on his bum while sitting.
He's having a small bit of solids each day - sometimes he eats, sometimes he doesn't, but it's no drama really. He laughs and 'chatters' all the time and doesn't like to sleep.... He had been getting good overnight, but then about 6 weeks ago it all went to potty. One day we'll get some sleep... right?
DH has been a stay-at-home dad for the past 5 months, while I work fulltime from home, but he's starting a new job next week. All a bit stressful as we are still yet to find a babysitter . Hopefully something will pan out.

mgm - hope your DD is feeling better. I think rice allergies are very unusual, though it is possible. It's very likely due to the virus though.

Hi Marcellus, welcome to the thread!
Don't worry, Benjamin (my little man) isn't overly mobile. Granted, he rolls around like a bowling ball, but he's not crawling yet....he can push himself commando style if he's pushing off something, but hasn't grasped the whole, digging the toes in thing yet!
BJ isn't sitting up yet (he CAN, and would be alot more stable and upright if I actually let him practise...but I don't) it was always recommended during my early childhood studies (and since, from my MCHN) that children learn to crawl, then push themselves backward into a sitting position, rather than sit, then learn to crawl...so I'll stick to that for now...Bj is mobile enough and happy enough this way so...if it ain't broke.....
Solids wise, we are on 3 meals a day including yoghurt and toast.
I can't imagine how all of the mum's are going with work...I'm so lucky to be a stay at home mum and I love it...I had a taste of what it would be like if I was at work though, on monday I had to go to the dentist, and I was taking Benjamin into my old work (a child care centre), we had to be out of the house by 8am...we left at 8:10am so not toooo bad, but gee it was a lot of work!

MGM I would guess that Rosa has had more of a reaction/symptom of a virus rather than a reaction to the cereal, as with Marcellus, I'm pretty sure that rice allergies are highly rare (hence rice cereal being the recommended 1st food for little bubbles), but thats not to say they don't happen!

We have a hectic day ahead of us tomorrow, Dr appointment to check up on BJ's ear infection at 8:45, home for a sleep (BJ not me!) then off to have photos done at 11:45 , then grocery shopping, getting care seat number 2's straps adjusted with the car seat guy (still not turning Bj round yet...its best for his neck to keep going backwards as long as possible and he's happy anyway!), home for lunch and bed (again...BJ not me) then probably taking poor DH to the chiropractor cause today he did something weird to his neck and he can't move....even after voltaron.
