We're tying to give DS more tummy time. He's happy enough on his front for a while, but he does spend a fair bit of time faceplanting and sucking on the mat....hmmmm. He manages to wiggle/drag himself a little bit, so spose he'll eventually get the idea. Honestly the idea of having to babyproof the house (let along mop the floors more often!) leaves me hoping that he'll take his time getting mobile.
It's so cute how they go backwards first...
My hope is that one day, hopefully in the not too distant future, DH can earn enough that I don't have to work (or at least not full time). Right now he earns just enough to cover the cost of childcare etc...
BW, just info in case... they've found that most ear infections aren't bacterial, yet doctors still prescribe antibiotics which make it harder for the infection to heal. What is worse, is what antibiotics do to the gut. I know your youngen hasn't had any allergies or anything, but may I suggest some gut healing if you have had to use antibiotics on the littl'lin? I've been dealing head on with this stuff with some babies/parents and still am right now, the issues that crop up eventually from a damaged gut. At the very least, probiotics, but it usually takes more than that. For more info, please pm me!! Abx totally anhihilates their gut flora and it cannot heal on its own, nature was not designed with man made abx in mind, therefore there is no natural healing after a course of them. I only JUST healed Ci's gut from the issue, and he wasn't even given abx, it was through my breastmilk and from the abx I received after the c-section, what it did to my gut really affected his. I wasn't able to furnish him with good bacteria. It's been a nightmare. But we're good now, sleeping, eating a varied diet, all kindsa good stuff. But repeated ear infections often occur due to the cyclic nature of the effect of teh abx on the yeast which is allowed to overgrow and help bad bacteria proliferate. To prevent chronic infections, pm me and I'll show you how.
Welcome Marcellus - were you in the March Babies thread? What happened to that? I used to post in the Belly Buddies due group.
Me - well there's a reason why AF hasn't come back, no, I'm not pregnant! My thyroid function is totally out of whack. I'm seeing an endocrinologist and I either have postpartum thyroiditis or Graves Disease. Bloody great. It's been triggered by pregnancy.
My thyroid is slightly overactive which is a little harder to treat than an underactive thyroid. I'm having an iodine function test on Tues then back to the endo on Wed.
So I have been to Perth twice in 3 days this week, considering it's a 420km round trip, Baxter has been quite good, poor mite.
We are finally over the fabulous gastro bug that Benjamin had for a week...I'm pleased to anounce that so far today..No poo!!
Very exciting given that for 3 days it was a poo every hour and they were just water....poor little fella was about 4 hours and a dry nappy away from hospital...he was refusing fluids....scarey stuff..
Hi Shoegal, Fire, BW, Lisylee, Marcellus, Ness & Mgm..
Been very busy at work so haven't been in *blah blah blah* You get the drill!
Marcellus - welcome!
Shoegal - to you. I've got thyroid problems in my family which is triggered by menopause so hopefully have at least another 15 years before it kicks in! My Nanna had an underactive thyroid and my Mum had an underactive thyroid. What's the bet I'll get the underactive one because it can make you put on weight
BW - Hope benjamin is better. That must have been frightening having him so sick he won't eat...
Liam's going well. He's slowly getting the hang of solids. However, I can't get him to like veggies... he's good at apples & other fruits (banana mainly) but every time I try veggies, he has about 2 spoonfuls and screws up his face!! Ah well, at least he has some cereal in his bottles!
He's crawling all over the place and is starting to look like he might start pulling himself up to a standing position before long. He might just skip sitting for now - because he's not doing that just yet!
However, we've finally managed to convince him to bath rather than shower. He sits ok in the bath, but it's got a little seat thingy which helps.
Well, I'm supposed to be doing an order for nappy covers... better go & get that done!
