We had a nice day...Louis was so excited in the morning to get a few little pressies...he opened the rest this afternoon but I think was a little overwhelmed...funny he likes the smallest cheapes pressie the best - always the way! LOL! We did food shopping for his party and I spent a small fortune - could barely fit in the freezer - just lots of snack junk foods I can shove in the oven and not really think about - hehehe. I don't know how anyone could afford to buy food like that all the time! Louis was a big helper though...Dylans just so cheeky at the moment - we had cuddles before bed which were so nice - he keeps lifting up my t-shirt and giving my big tummy a cuddle and can say bubba and an attempt at Ethan so thats cute...I still don't think he knows what he's in for yet though! LOL!
Jen - You're entitled to a break - and no better time than when bubs is asleep and the house is peaceful and you can actually relax!
LOL at Beau loving the bamix! how funny! I'm sure your doing a fantastic job with Beau!
Ummm...nup - all the xmas stuff is still on layby - I think they'll be opening xmas presents for a week! I now realise I may have overdone it...LOL! Dh is going to have a heart attack when they're wrapped and "santa" delivers them under the tree....I'm still excited though! LOL!
Gosh - what a memory you have!!! I can't even remember that! But I can remember that we put him full time into a big bed when Dylan was a couple of months old because we needed the cot! LOL! So he would have been about 19-20months I suppose! We didn't have any dramas and he was very excited and loved it - He had a new wiggles doona cover etc and we put a side barrier on and has only had one period of time when he got out of bed...mostly he never really has...
Just reading what you wrote for Dis in regards to art stuff - A magnadoodle is a great idea when you can't be bothered with the mess! I usually sit Dylan in the high chair for drawing but he does still try and eat crayons etc...mind you he loves it - I really should do more! I'm guilty with the art stuff because it's so much effort setting up and cleaning up for 10min attention - iykwim? The other thing the kids are right into at the moment is bath crayons - they just drawer with special crayons while they're in the bath and it just wipes straight off! They love asking dh to draw things for them as well or he gets them to guess...Another thing is the big chunky chalks for outside - because yet again - no mess inside! I love summer because I can get them down to their nappy or in the nuddy and the can finger paint etc and then can just hop in the baby pool to wash them!! hehehe.
He might be having his 12 hours cos your tiring him out with all that outdoor play! LOL!
In regards to food I'm not quite sure...best thing is to disguise it in stuff he already likes...I suppose I'm lucky - my boys love salad..but not cooked veg quite so much...Often they'll stand at the kitchen while I'm chopping stuff and eat as I chop - raw....funny because I'm so not a raw veg person but they love it...it's easy not to offer stuff when you don't like it - LOL! I would say just go with what he likes...My boys love avocado and tomato - so they always have salad rolls for lunch - or avocado nori rolls, tomato and mushroom in salads etc...They don't really eat a whole lot of it but it's enough for me to be satisfied...they also looovvveee fruit so I figure that makes up for any lack of veggies!
Mel - omg - the box toy thing sounds great! Good on him! Wow - you're so organised! I'm slowly but surely getting my bag ready...I've never been so unorganised in my life! Bought a few bits and pieces but still have to wash all of bubs clothes! Got so behind just with out washing this week with the rain though that It will probably have to wait - I might try and get a load done tomorrow of bubs stuff just so I can get all sooky and clucky when I remember how small everything is...LOL!
Gosh...I really need to get my car services as well...When will I have the time?????
In regards to the sleeping - persistance is the key...she might do it for 2 or 3 weeks but if everytime she gets up you just put her back down she'll eventually get the message...you just can't give in and let her sit out with you or start playing with toys etc (unless she's not well or something of course!) Just have a really good night routine and she'll get used to it!
Yeah on an nanna nap!
Kaz - Don't be silly - of course your not neglectful! And kids can be frustrating at times...we all have our good and bad moments with them...Trust me!!!! Ooh I'm sure the photos will be just gorgeous!!!
Ok...better got and have a tidy up...so can't be bothered though! Chat later!
eta - just realised I've written an epic - do you think I'm procrastinating? LOL!
