Ack, just screeched cause the thread was closed while I hit "reply"!!!
DG - DH hasn't yet installed the LS which I'm rather grumpy about. Once we hit the 6mth mark I started having a glass of wine a week with Pip ... also had a few shandies when I was in first trimester cause I was keeping it secret!!!!
Kris - hope the boys slept nicely for you!!!
Wasn't it warm!
Kel - mmmm, massage
Von - yeah, prolly shouldn't have bought so many, but I was excited!!!!
Jen - ooooh good luck
Us - well, Pip's annoying as always. Very active & climbing. Going through a "cling-on" period!!!! Today the CC had a visit from an animal farm, Pip apparently loved it, at one stage he was surrounded by all the animals! (and was a little worried, but coped!)
AND! we start 5/days childcare on Monday week!!!! WOOHOOOO!!!!
hello
Kaz youre going f/t and you sound very excited!!! I dont think i'll ever be excited about working again!!!! Dh has just started paying me out of the business, so I have no incentive!!!
Kel- hope you get some rest tomorrow. Sounds like a good thing for you to go back to work at 3 hrs a shift...i could do that. And its good you have your mum to help with looking after the kids.
OOps- i cant remember any of the other posts!!! Oh Kel- Olivia had a cold with high temps. She had come in contact with her cousin the week before who had croup. It didnt develop into that, but the dr said it was a bad cold with red ears and throat and she was abs for 5 days. Seamed to have cleared it up. Oh and she hasnt had her needle yet coz shes been sick. I might get it done this Friday or the next one.....not too sure how long to wait after her being sick.
Me- I had a crap night last night. Couldnt get comfy and I have been getting bad crampy feelings deep in my groin, like the baby is pushing down...even grinding. I actually have to breath through it coz it hurts so much...reminds me of labour!!!! But has only been at night. I was so unsettled and by the time i dozed off, Olivia woke up and dh brought her to bed...gggrrrr, so she bear hugged me all night and kept waking up crying, or hitting me. Ah the joys. Mum had her today, but she didnt have a sleep for her. Instead she fell asleep at the table at 5pm for an hour. I only just got her off to bed at 9pm. Hopefully she will sleep.
Ok, better go, I am tired and should be sleeping....I wonder where kris is....shes not had the baby yet?
Just a quick one from me - will try and post properly later...
Mel - Don't know if you remembered (and I haven't reminded you!) that I'm having my enjo party today at 10.30am if you still wanted to come!! Would love to see you and Olivia if you feel up to it!
My address is 1 Bartolo Crt Cranbourne North and my number is 0438539435 if you need to call!
Otherwise just been super busy - No baby yet luckily! - 2 weeks to go - I don't think he'll be coming early or at least I've had no signs that he will!
Will catch up with you all later and fill you in on whats been happening!
I'm super-mega-grumpy lady today Didn't sleep well again last night. Ben woke up throughout the night because I'd overdressed him. Once my exhausted brain worked out that he was wearing about 3x as many clothes as me and was sweating, he had a whole glass of milk and went back to sleep. Took my poor, foggy brain ages to figure that out though so I dragged it out far longer than necessary....making me even more tired! Der!!!
So, I woke up tired, ran late all morning and didn't have time to stop for the hot choccy that I felt like, thought "no worries, I'll make one at work" and after battling the trains and buses in the rain got to work to find out that we were out of chocolate! Not happy! At least I got special treatment on the bus this morning. I found a Syd buses worker and told him I didn't want to battle the students to get on because they'd probably trample me and bub to death so he made a bus stop before the bus-stop, put me on it and then let it go to the bus stop. I felt very special!
Now I'm here at work feeling sorry for myself and I've decided to take all of Friday off. I was only taking the morning off because of my mw appt but I just can't be bothered spending 4 hrs travelling for three hours work! I still have four days annual leave and 12 days sick leave!!!! Don't know how I managed that, but with less than five weeks left, I'm running out of time to use them up!!!
Kris, have fun at your party I can't believe Ethan is due in only two weeks?!?!
Mel, I had one of those shocking nights last week where you just doze off and then....a visit from a little person who wants to play, cuddle, kiss - whatever, as long as it's not sleep. Little buggers.
Kaz, how cool that cc had an animal nursery come out! Ben loves animals - a little too much at times. Wants to make friends with madly barking German Shepherds and Rotties. A bit of a concern!
Let me know what you think of the Little Squirt when your DF installs it. At least you got around to buying one, I've been talking about it for a couple of months now and still haven't done it!
Mel- hope your day is a bit better than yesterday. 5 weeks isnt long and you have heaps of sick leave....oooohhh
Olivia is squealing at in the night garden...so cute
I have been up since 5am, just couldnt sleep. It was nice to have some me time, even at that time of the morning. Dh and Olivia were in bed til 730 so it was good.
Today I am off to Big W to put a swing set on layby for xmas. I have to get cousins pressies too, so might do that seeing there is a sale. Almost finished my labour bag...just have the camera and video camera to put in and thats it. Done. I am hoping not to go too early...like next week, coz its cup week here and its always busy. Actually I have something on every day from tuesday all through to Sunday. AAAgggg. So any time after that would be fine!!! Listen to me picking and choosing! Knowing my luck I will go into labour around cup day. Thats what happened with Olivia. A friend of mine from high school...her dads birthday is April fools day and I always used to have a giggle at it...then my baby was born that day...karma, I say!!!!!
Well, I should get moving, Olivia is dancing around in circles watching the ninky nonk.
Oh Mel, you're good. I've banned ITNG in our house! It was driving me insane!!!! The nonsense words were just getting too much for me. Having said that though, last Thursday Ben watched Cars three times. That's after watching it twice each day the three days prior to that! We've put that away now too, I wasn't quite sick of it (Pixar do such a great job!) but I figured I was feeding an addiction
Hehe on picking your baby's birthday. Good luck with that! I hope you last at least another week and a bit at least to get you past 37 weeks, you don't want to spend any time in NICU if you can help it.
I'm doing much better today. Had a shocker yesterday afternoon after I was locked out of mum and dad's house and couldn't get in to get my car keys. My phone also died so I had to go down to the shops and call Craig to see where everybody was. Oh and did I mention I'm six and a half months preggas and was BUSTING to go to the loo?!?! I burst into tears on the phone and then continued to cry off and on all the way home when I eventually got in. I guess the sleep deprivation finally got the better of me. Had a good night last night though and it makes all the difference. Knowing I have a three day weekend starting tomorrow definitely helps!
What a crappy day you had...poor thing. I would have been crying for the rest of the day too!!
You see, my dh is just as obsessed with ITNG as well...so no stopping it here. He tapes it every day to his computer and we have about a months worth of episodes on hand. We have the wiggles dvd...hot potato...now that drives me nuts, only coz I end up waking up in the middle of the night singing the stupid songs!!!! Olivia loves it though and is another one to keep her entertained. We were at the shops yesterday in the toy section and all I got was...please, please please. OMG I hate toy shopping with her. I managed to get out of there with a wooden puzzel and not the $70 talking iggle piggle!!! AAGGggg Tomorrow she will be at day care, so I have to got to Big W and get some stuff in peace! Oh and tomorrow I will get her needle.
I just had a nanna nap, so am feeling much better after being awake from 5am...just coz. I walked into Olivias roon and she was asleep and had done a big poo. I managed to change her and keep her asleep. Otherwise it would be another very red bum.
Well, had the wedding last Sat which went well - was a late night though after I drove drunk people home! (don't you love being the sober one? LOL!) Got home after midnight to my brothers and slept in a double bed with Louis and had Dylan in the porta cot - it was sooo hot and I'd only packed flanny pj's so was soo uncomfortable and just couldn't sleep - Dylan had slept quite well until about 4.30am when i realised I was in the room and then wouldn't sleep at all. My SIL ended up coming in and grabbing him and putting him in my nephews cot (he was sleeping in his parents bed) and he slept for another 2 hours without a peep the little bugger! Anyway after finally realising he was playing us as tired as we were we were well and truly ready to do some cc on Sun night...well it didn't end up very dramatic at all - basically dh went into him everytime - so for the first few house he was waking up every 40min crying and he'd go in lay him down and give him the dummy and then walk out - sometimes he went straight back to sleep and others he would keep crying - so we didn't go in initially until after 1min, then left it 2min after he'd been in and then 3min etc.. he never cried for longer than 3min so wasn't a problem at all...he even went back to sleep for one 40min length without his dummy!!!??? Anyway by 11.30pm he was ready to sleep so dh only had to go in one more time for the whole night! Then Mon night he only got up once to him the whole night and Tue and Wed he slept though! Anyway - just thought I'd share what a cheeky thing he is! and has had nothing to do with his cold really because hes had more sniffles since we did it and has slept so well! He usually wakes now about around 6.15-6.45 and I lay him back down and he goes back to sleep until 7.30-8am ish which I'm loving as well. Also - yesterday he had a 3h day sleep which he hasn't had in months!!!
Anyway...I can't tell you how great it's been to have a few nights sleep without having to get up (other than the toilet (LOL!)
Had a midwife appt today and all is good with bubs...he's in a slightly posterior position though so need to make sure I'm sleeping on my left and doing things leaning forward or on all 4's (Like I needed to tell dh that - LOL!)
We had our night out to see Carl Barron which was a great laugh - was so nice to get out just the 2 of us well - we haven't done it in so long...I think once we've finished having kids and I've finished bf it's something we'll need to do quite regularly - It's so important to focus on each other and do somethign for ourselves - even just for an hour or 2...We get so caught up in the kids and life in general that we forget sometimes...now I just need to do that for myself and I may have "balance" (wishful thinking with a bubs only days/weeks away! LOL!) My time will come though...
Had my enjo party which went well...
Ummm....not much else happening really which is quite nice actually! LOL!
JenSam - Sounds like a gorgeous day you had last week - How exciting - hope it's your month and you catch the eggy!!
Disgirl - Yeah at having time home with Ben - bugger at being back at work though...not too much longer to go! Hope you manage to get the last 2 weeks off!
Thats so cute he missed your mum and dad so much! They would have loved that as well I'm sure!
Bugger at a bad nights sleep...we all do things like that sometimes. Yeah at the busdriver picking you up early - thats great!!
Good for you taking Friday off - sounds like a great idea - enjoy your day!
LOL at banning itng! My boys aren't into it that much - well not watching it - they like the characters and the songs but won't watch the whole thing at all - I think it's a bit slow for them? They like stuff like Dora instead! Ooh they love cars and finding nemo and we just got flushed away sent out from bigpond movies so thats the favourite at the moment...my boys are tvaholics...not very good but handy while I'm so tired being p/g...will work out well in the first couple of months of bubs arrival too...I know your not meant to use them as a babysitter but...sometimes for the peace it's worth it - and I must say my boys have learnt so much from tv...makes me not feel so guilty - LOL!
Sorry to hear you had such a bad arvo - I would have been crying as well - thats the last things you need to be happening!! Glad you got a good sleep though!
Von - LOL at the shopping making you later! I probably have no hope then! hehe.
Yeah, I heard of a few people giving a bottle but it's not something we do ever with the boys - they don't have bottles of anything other than water at night/before bed so didn't want to start it now - iykwim? It worked for them though as well which is great though!
What an amazing story about your reaction to milk - I can't believe it took so long for them to work it out - just as well they did though!!
Hope James is feeling better...
Melissa - Yeah on having a great massage! Hope you managed a nap as well -what a great day! Sorry to hear your not feeling well though...
Bugger at having such a bad nights sleep and being so uncomfortable - hope you get some good sleeps in before bubs makes it's arrival!
Olivia sounds gorgeous watching in the night garden! LOL!
Yeah at having all your bag packed - I'm still going with mine - LOL - not too much more to add - just some new clothes that I bought and a few other bits and pieces...I've got past all of my important stuff so bubs can arrive any time now...although I'm happy to get past the long weekend also...just so we can have a chill out...I've been so relaxed about Ethan arriving though that I'll probaby go overdue!
Yeah at all the toy shopping! Wow - what an effort changing her bum and keeping her asleep! My boys would probably go back to sleep but def not stay asleep! LOL! Have fun doing more shopping tomorrow!
Kel - Oh no at Lily being sick again - poor little thing...Hope Liam coped ok with his needles!
LOL - Dylan always grabs the phone and says "nanna" as well...hehe. Does that mean we all talk to much to our mothers?? LOL!
You poor thing with them both waking so much - I don't blame you for being over it! Hope you've managed to get some rest!
Wow at thinking about going back to work! Good for you - the 3 hours sounds manageable! You can always try it out I guess and see if it works for you!
Kaz - Aww Pip sounds so cute with the animals - how great they have stuff like that! LOL at him being so active and climbing! It's such a full on age for getting into stuff!
Ok...must go to sleep after writing this epic! Chat later!
Hey all
Kristie- youre such a busy chick!!! hope you get some rest before Ethans arrival. Glad your date went well.
Had another bad night last night- getting those pains again, deep down in my pelvis and having to breath through it. Also getting loads of leg cramps. Not fun. One of the girls in the due date group had her baby on Sunday. Have decided I am happy with this one being born from the 8th onward!!!!lol.
Still snotty here, probably another reason I cant sleep well. Olivia is watch tv again....standing on her trampoline. That has been fantastic for her. She can jump with both feet these days and shes very confidant with it. I am getting her needle today, hope I dont cry!!!!
Aww Melissa - Sorry to hear your feeling so uncomfortable! Yeah - you'd hope bubs stays in for a bit longer to be nice and healthy...I had Louis at 38w and he was fine other than we had to watch his temp a bit...
The trampoline sounds fantastic! Good luck with Olivia's needles today!
Can I just say that I am the biggest sook out. Olivia had her needle, cried for a minute and I cried for nearly an hour!!!! Then I went shopping and several hundred dollars later...I am happy to say I have all my xmas and b'day presents done!!!! Except my mums and a wedding.....
Good morning....very quiet in here. Although its my daily routine to pop on the laptop while making breakfast. This networking stuff makes it so much easier to surf the net in my house. I even go out on the deck to do it too!!!!
Well I went out for a hens night last night and we did belly dancing. I was having a great time, giggled a bit to hard though and had a bladder bouncing ooppssie and then cramped up for the rest of the night. Oh well I still had fun!!! Bubs has swapped sides and is now laying on my right, I can feel her little bum poking up! Still getting those stupid pains. Not long to my midwife appointment which is on Wednesday, so hoping to find out how far engaged she is....I probably shook her out of position last night!!!! Poor little girl.
I get my fix today, dh's cousins wife is coming to introduce us to her new edition...the first boy of the Howell clan this generation. He was only 5lb10 when born just under 2 weeks ago and she had him in 3 hours.... I just want to see how Olivia will go with me holding a baby and if she'll try and poke his eyes out like she does with her dolls!!!!
Talking of dolls, I must go and quietly get her rag doll and soak it in bleach...she has the blackest face from being dragged everywhere. Even bleach doesnt get rid of most of it. Hope its not too cold for drying today!!! Otherwise I will have to stick her in the dryer and Olivia is mortified by that!!!!!
Ok enough of my rambling, I need to go make breakfast have a great day
Oh I'm having a yuk day! Kris, Mel and Kel did you find your 2nd pgs harder on your body than your first? I don't seem to be handling this one as well as I did with Ben
Today I'm puffy, I felt like I was going to be sick earlier, I was starving this morning and now my groin is really painful!!! I even asked a friend to go down to the loo (ladies' are on the next floor down) with me because I was feeling so light-headed at one stage. Geez, it was never this hard with Ben's pg!!! I'm only 21 months older surely it can't be age-related!!!!
Urgh, anyway, I can barely concentrate and BB went beserk on me when I tried to post last time and ended up opening 38 new internet windows for me, so I'm going to cut this short.
Sorry I have been mia, been a tough few days. We're all sick. Lily is on the mend, though is still having slight fevers (about 37.5 this morning). Poor Liam can't handle all of the saliva and snot his little body is making and is constantly choking and coughing. Lily is waking 4-5 times a night as well and I am buggered. I'm not sleeping well though. Last night I was so tired and went to bed at 8pm, but couldn't actually get to sleep til 10.30, then Liam was awake at 11, Lily at 12.30, Liam at 1.30, then we got a little sleep, then Lily 3am, 4am, DH up for work at 5am and Lily up for the day at 5.30. That's what the last week has been like. Needless to say I am buggered. And over emotional, have been feeling down, cranky pants, etc...though today has been a good day. I have been productive and feel good for it!
It's mine and DH's wedding anniversary today, 6yrs. 11yrs together last week. It so doesn't feel that long. We arent' doing anything special really, noone to babysit Though we went to dinner with the kids on the weekend. I guess that's the evolution of our relationship though.
We went up the coast the other day too to see my dad, on the spur of the moment, it was really nice, and yep, Jen, I thought of you a bit late notice to visit though.
Dis, yep, Liam's pg was tougher than Lils. I always put it down to being pg so closely together. My body never recovered properly...
Ok gotta go, LIl's awake. I hope everyone is well.
Did some shopping today and got a new tv...was going to order our couch and get a treadmill but ran out of time as my dad came over for a visit...Talk about retail therapy!!! So going to be super broke soon though - LOL!
Having a few pains tonight probably from all the walking today but no real sign bubs is going to make a move soon...happy to wait a bit longer though!
Boys are well - Dylans sleeping super well as is Louis other than waking up from the occassional bad dream so am definitely happy there that I'm managing a bit of extra sleep...
Mel - The belly dancing sounds like lots of fun! Sorry to hear about your pains though...hopefully it's just your body getting all ready! Oooh I wish I was cuddling a little newborn - will be interesting if you get any pains - I remember when Cindy had her little girl 8 days before I had dylan and when I would cuddle her I got super braxton hicks!! Must have been all the hormones in the air! How did Olivia go??
Disgirl - Sorry to hear your not feeling great...Ummm...second p/g wasn't too bad as I was still teaching dancing and everything but this one has taken its toll much more...I really think for me that it's because I'm way more unfit...each p/g I've had a bit more nausea though which is for no good reason though! Also, you'll be more tired etc cos you've got a little one to run after!
I had a period around the same stage as you when I felt like my body was going to fall apart...thankfully though I got past it and have felt quite good for the last couple of months! Hopefully the same happens with you!
Kel - Big hugs Kel...sorry to hear you're all so sick and not getting any sleep...Hope things settle down soon. Happy Anniversary! Thats fantastic! Bugger you can't go out...it does end up getting that way after having kids...you'll have to make up for when bubs is a bit bigger!
