Thanks for the good wishes Jen, but the capsule didn't do the trick. Ben had another late night, but 11pm is better than 1am so we're making some progress at least. He still drinks a LOT of milk during the day as well. Usually around 400mls? He loves his milk. He wasn't such a pig yesterday, but still ate very well.
What do you mean you'd tell your DH before us if you were UTD? Where are your priorities?
It's going to be a scorcher here today. I'll be locking up the house soon and the aircon will be on all day. I don't care what the electricity bill is going to be, no way am I sweltering in my condition!
Wow - it's so hot here! Meant to be 39 today and was super hot yesterday! We put the little pool up for the kids yesterday for a splash so that was nice.
Hit a milestone with Dylan yesterday - and one I'm not very happy about - He didn't have a day sleep at all!! GRRR! Poor little thing though did 3 poos between 1pm and 2.45pm though and then another after he got up at 3pm so I'm hoping he just had too much going on to get to sleep! He did pretty well missing it though until it got closer to bedtime so we'll see what happens today.
I'm a bit urgh today...just feeling like I need a bit of a break...this cold seems to be lingering and I appear to have AF which seems very strange - I assume it's from me going back on the minipill and just generally tired from the boys. I don't feel like a very good mummy at the moment as I'm not doing much with Louis and Dylan at all...they pretty much just occupy themselves and watch tv all day...I think they're getting very bored and frustrated though I nearly died yesterday when Louis bit Dylan - so hard it left a bruise! Gosh...
Sorry for the vent...
Mel - I shouldn't have stayed up - Ethan ended up being so unsettled so I only got about 5 hours sleep all night! Very silly! I went to bed at 9.30pm last night so got a little more sleep in. I feel like I could sleep for a week at the moment. Ethan was still up at 1.30am and 5.45am for a feed...am looking forward to feeds just once a night - anytime soon would be great! LOL!
How did the mchn check go? Are the girls going to be sharing?? We put Louis and Dylan together from about 3 months old. Dylan still woke 100 times a night but after a week or so Louis never even woke up from him. He still doesn't!! Thats very lucky though...If Louis wakes up so does Dylan though - he's a very light sleeper!
Disgirl - What a bugger that Ben's staying up so late! Not sure about a growth spurt now..I think they can have them anytime really...Hope you get some rest before bubs arrives! I know what you mean - the anticipation is a killer!!
Wow - Ben has heaps of milk! Dylan only has 1 cup with lunch and thats it. He has yoghurt in the morning though and cheese in his sandwich so he's getting plenty of calcium!
Jensam - I don't think you need to worry about Beau - the more we generally want them to be friendly with people the more they back away! LOL! Dylans a little social butterfly who'll go up to anyone for a cuddle but Louis is a lot more hesitant and takes a while to warm up to people - I think it's just in their little personalities a bit...and probably a bit of an age thing as well...
I have moments of sadness although more and more I'm feeling a bit of relief that I won't have to do all this again!! I love my little monkey boy but gosh it's really taken it's toll on me this time around. I can't wait for him to get a couple of months older and to settle a bit so we can all enjoy our time together! Louis and Dylan have been very patient with him thats for sure - I'm always cuddling and holding him...I think it's affected Dylan more than Louis though in one respect...I really feel like Dylans the poor middle child at the moment. I'm always with Ethan but because Louis can communicate so well he's always talking to us whereas Dylan just sort of cruises along on his own. I really need to make an effort to try and get some one on one time with him soon...He's such a different little kid when he's on his own opposed to being with Louis.
Ok...better see if I have time to quickly jump in the shower before bubs wakes up...he's all out of whack this morning...routine is not something that's working in this house at the moment! LOL!
Chat later!
Kris, I'm not surprised you're feeling it more this time around! Try not to feel guilty about spending too much time with the boys, Ben has been watching far too much TV this week because it's too hot to go outside and I'm the size of a beached whale anyway and really can't be stuffed doing anything. We all have these times!
Sounds like you need a bit of 'me' time to help you get rid of that cold.
Love your ticker pic by the way!
Jen, I didn't answer your question about your mum's boyfriend. Ben is really shy. Craig is as well so I figure it's just his personality. He does the exact same thing, hands over his eyes, when he is around strangers. It's hard when the other person doesn't make an effort too, but sometimes it doesn't even matter if they do. Ben wouldn't go near Santa this year - hands over the eyes every time we saw him I wasn't going to traumatise him just for a photo so we didn't get one. Maybe next year! Ben does warm up to people after a while sometimes though.
Hi Ladies!
Sheesh it is hot! I have the house closed up and the a/c on - but the whole back of the house is windows so I am not sure how effective that is!
Dis - Wow what a relief reading your post, I worry about how much milk Beau has as he loves it so much and prefers it over any food, He would have about as much as Ben but Ben sounds like he eats more! Good on him! DH came home from work last night and had a tall glass of milk with ice so I can see where he gets it! Maybe DH is PG I wouldnt worry so much about the tele - Beua watches his shows in our room and wanders in and out all the time watching little snatches of it, DH is thinking of moving it into Beaus room so he will play while he watches (if he does) but I am not so sure.....Ben still watching Mickey ? I am glad to hear Ben is a bit shy too - its always reassuring to hear when it seems everyone elses bubs are so social! I didnt go there with Santa either - he is pretty freaky when you think about it!!!
Kris - You have every right to be feeling a bit blah! Far out you have your hands full - I wouldnt feel bad about not spending quality time with Dylan and Louis, you will get back on track, as Dis said there are always these times, the boys I am sure arent too concerned by it. Think of all the beautiful company Dylan has with Louis and all the things he will show Ethan how to do in the future. You are such a great mum, the fact that you are concious of it shows it will never become a big issue.
Hope you start to shake your cold soon and maybe get to do something for yourself or get a sleep in at least! I think you are right about the shyness and their age and personality....just hope he grows out of it soon!!
Us - I am hoping Beau has a decent sleep today, I could use a long one as its too hot to go outside and anyway the prams in the back of DH's car so we cant go anywhere!!!! We exhausted all our indoor activities this morning....and I fell asleep during Sesame Street.
We are doing well...I suppose!!! I have put Olivia down for a nap in her toddler bed and I can hear her..Hello, Mummy, Bibby, Dolly. Shes so not good at sleeping in that bed, except for last night, because she, like Dylan, didnt sleep yesterday at all. She seems to poo as well as soon as she goes for her nap...maybe its an excuse for her to stay up!!! Last night she was so tired, but I managed to keep her up til just after 7pm and she slept in her toddler bed all night. I dont want her to drop the arvo nap....its my time to sleep. I thought she would be tired today because we had mothers group here and the kids just kept going....mmmmm, i thought wrong!
Rebecca went well yesterday for her MCHN appointment. Shes now 4.5kg and 55.5cm long. She put on nearly 900gms in a month andgrew 4.5cms. Shes going pretty well, although I would like her to sleep through. I have been up since 530 and am knackered.
The girls will be sharing a room and my dillema is when to put them together. So thats why I have started the toddler bed full time with Olivia. As soon as she is out of it, then Rebecca will go in her cot. Hopefully by Olivias 2nd birthday!!!!
Anyway, hope you are all managing well in this heat...especially you Mel. Nothing worse than being very pregnant and hot!!!
Jen, it's funny you asked about milk today because Ben is up to his second 300ml bottle already. I don't worry too much about what he eats, he seems to know when he's been neglecting his fruit and vege and will ask for it then so it all seems good. He's bright eyed and bushy tailed and that's all you can hope for I think!
Mel, Wow on Becca's growth! I hear you on wanting to keep that daytime sleep. I hope Ben NEVER grows out of it!
Well, I'm a crazy pregnant woman...I've been playing Wii Sports It's so fun, but the bowling made me have cramps so I've decided to give it a rest for a while. Ben is so funny, he stands next to us as we're playing and swings his arms saying "Golf" regardless of what game we're playing He is the one who actually wanted us to turn it on today. He came out and asked for "tennis". Sometimes we wonder how he picks up on these words - it's not like we use them all the time!
Hey All,
Mel - Glad Olvia is somewhat sleeping in her big bed....gibbering is better than screaming, always!
Dis - I know, how can you deny them fluids? Especially in this heat! Glad its a lot cooler today, you must be releived!
Us - havnt been doing a lot, just to the shops and the park etc, had two swims in the lake yesterday and went to the beach when DH came home...Beau and I have all these bites over our legs (and his arms and torso) - its not pelican itch, I think it might be from the grass???
