Hi all,

Thanks for the lovely welcome from everyone. What a great bunch of women you are! It's really interesting to hear about everyone's babies and their behaviours.

Zayd's daytime naps have become a bit of a nightmare. I think 45 mins at most! He sleeps like a log at night, waking once at most in 12 hours, and sometimes sleeping all the way through. I dunno if I should just count my blessings that he's a good night sleeper and just accept bad day naps or what. My MCH nurse actually TOLD me to 'leave him to cry' at 2 months of age because 'studies have shown they can be manipulative at this age'. Manipulative at 2 months?!!? WTH?? Well, I don't agree with that, anyway. So I ignored her 'advice' and won't be leaving him to cry anytime in the near future. Now I dread all my future visits with her. Just seems like such a strange mentality to have in someone in her profession, but I guess I'm being slightly judgmental (okay, a lot, LOL). But what do you guys think about Zayd's day naps? Any suggestions, tips, reassurances (hahha)?

Christy- sounds like you had a lovely day. Treasure them! Also, re: the 5 year old girl you may be caring for- I think it could work out really well for you with your baby. My daughter is 4 and loves being my 'helper' with our bub, and spends quite a bit of time talking to him and dancing to entertain him, which gives me a bit of a break (to wash the dishes or fold laundry, LOL. Not much of a break!), and my baby loves to watch her. Kids just love other kids. It's amazing.

Erin, hope your little guy is feeding well again. I guess they're just like us, and have days when they want to eat a lot, and others when they don't. Target toy sale sounds good- are the discounts really worth it? Cos I'll have to drag two little ones around with me, so only want to go if the bargains are really worth it

Better dash- both the kids are in bed and need to do all the stuff I didn't get done today cos I was trying to amuse a cranky baby! And seriously, thanks again for letting me come on board. This is fun!

Cheers,
Susan
