    Hi!

Just copies this over from my Oct thread...too tired to write it again! hehe
Had a huge day today! Went and visited my friend in hospital...poor buggers. They have a diagnosis but the illness is just so rare the dr's don't even really have info on it. Out of the cases they've heard of only 1 has survived past 1yo. She's just beautiful though...she was heavily sedated when I was there and has been for the last 4-5 days as the seizures are just so bad - but she's astounding the dr's and still having them through the medication. It was really heartbreaking...I just didn't know what to do or say...It really isn't fair on them though.

Jen - We had a hot day here today as well!! We've been dressing Dylan in his sunnies and hat - soo cute. I must post a piccy soon. Beau looks very spunky in his hat!! hehe. I've given Dylan rusks - he LOVES them!!! hehe. They're fine - they just go mushy - just make sure he isn't left with a little bit that he could choke on - that takes ages though! I don't give them to him all the time though but he does love them!

Melissa - LOL! Wow - they're all going to start crawling very soon!! Geez...can we swap babies for a week??? Thats great she's sleeping so well!

Kaz - Yeah on the toothy pegs!! Good to hear from you!!

Emily - Welcome!! Congrats on your little man!

Ok, my amazing sleeper has broken her greatness, up for an hour from 3 til 4, but am not complaining.
What I do want to ask is, Olivia did pebble poo today, obviously a sign of constipation. For the past 4 or 5 days, shes been doing logs (sorry if tmi). I am giving her fruit for breakfast...pear, apple, banana and she gets vegies for dinner....sweet potatoes, potatoes, broccoli, pumpkin and/or zucchini(sp?). I also give her sips of water during the day. What can I do for constipation???? I know I can get stuff from the chemist, but is there anything I can use naturally before I go buy something? And how long should I let her go on pooing like this before doing something???
    Cool, thats all.
Better go, we have swimming this morning
    Take care
    Love Melissa

    morning all!

Melissa, what does Olivia wear when swimming? I'm trying to steal myself to go with the munchkin As for the pebble poos, why not call your MCHN for advice? Ours will answer stuff like that over the phone.

Kris - how heartbreaking for your friend. My thoughts are with them and their little girl.

Well last night was Pip's second night in his cot, he's moving around heaps. I keep finding up with the blankie pulled up over his head and his feet out of the sheets - worried he's going to catch chill or summat. But am suprised how well he's sleeping there in his cot, in his own room.

Today I'm off to the movies (lullaby session every tuesday at 11am) then to the library for story time at 2pm... then a touch of shopping. Hope everyone's keeping well.

Hey Kaz, Olivia wears the huggies disposies swimming nappies, they were about $13 for a pack. I will go and buy her some of the washable ones from Big w or Kmart. I think they are about $20.
I love swimming, Olivia has been asleep for over an hour now. It really takes it out of her!!!
I'll call my MCHN, just thought I'd see if anyone would have suggestions
    Cheers

    Hey Guys,
Up every hour last night....dont have the strength to type....I am not really coping at the moment!
Mel - are they hard? when you go to solids the poos def firm up a lot - as long as she isnt straining to get them out I think its ok...TMI!!

Mel- you can give her a small amount of watery orange juice to help soften the poo, I've done this with Phoebe and it worked a treat to just soften them a little. Best thing would be to squeeze an orange yourself and just add water.

    Emily- Welcome to the thread

Jen - *hugs* and hang in there, it'll pass soon. Do you have a community house near you? We have a couple around here and they have "occaisional care" which is about $6/hour for a max of 3 hours - just enough time for a nap for you (and sanity time).

    Thanks for that Mel!

    Hey there,
No community house near us - sounds good but....
DH got up and did two feeds last night (yep we are back to two....) bless him. I made him sleep on my side of the bed (close to the door) so he could hear bubs when he stirred!
Beau can roll on both sides now, do proper rasberries and is shoving his bum in the air wiggling all over the floor! But on the downside I think he is too smart for me now - he is wise to all my settling methods, screams during wrapping, wriggles when I try to rock and pat....his legs never stop!

    Hi!!

Well we had an eventful day yesterday - Dylan had his 6m check up and his on the 75th percentile for height but only 25th for weight...she wasn't too concerned though as he's sooo active and obviouxly just burning it all off but suggested I put some butter in his veggies and start giving him cruskits with some butter on also! Yum! hehe. She told me not to introduce lunch for another month though and just fill him right up at brekky and dinner!
The big thing she told me with regards to his sleeping was to stop wrapping him...I've tried before and it didn't seem to work well but last night I put him to bed with 1 arm out...now I don't know if it was that or the fact that he went to bed late cos I had been working (late meaning just after 8pm) but he went to sleep only woke at around 10.30pm for his dummy and then next woke at 5am! OMG - He has never ever ever slept that long without waking! I can't believe it - So so happy! (if only Louis hadn't woke at 1am I would have had a great big sleep - LOL!) She wasn't even worried about getting rid of the dummy which is great. She was a fill in mchn and she was fantastic - I'm goign to get her details and find out where she is normally I think because she was sooo helpful about everything!!!

Anyway! New milestone from the last couple of days is Dylan beign on all fours and then standing on his toes making like a bridge iykwim?? Can't believe it!! Crazy kid! LOL!

Melissa - Bugger about the constipation...poor little thing. I havent' dealt with it with the kids but I know prune juice is meant to help....but whether or not you can give this to bubbas I don't know!

Kaz - How was the movies and the library? Do you do that at Knox? With regards to swimming - I put the kids in swim nappies and then cute little boardies and a rashy! hehe - for no other reason that it looks spunky! Other people at my class just have the kids in swim nappies or those little swim suits.
Yeah at sleeps in the cot! Have you tried those sleeping bags? I just buy the cheap versions - bonds etc and they're always good! At least you know they're toasty warm!

Jen - Big hugs...I know exactly how hard it can be...I wish you were close by so I could come and help and give you a break!!! It can change though with the simplest things - like I just left one arm out last night and he slept for 6 1/2 h straight - never though that would happen!! My mchn also suggested that I leave him 2min before I go in to give him a chance to resettle without my help which I think is a good idea as well - I'm one of those people that hear my bubbas and jump up without thinking! hehe. PM if you want to chat more about your going to bed routine etc...
Just read your last post...It's probably a great time to try and get him to self settle - just let me know if you want me to pm you with what I would do - otherwise just tell me to shut my mouth! LOL!

OK - Must go! Chat soon!

Jen - I hear you with the settling. Pip goes like a board when I think its time for him to sleep and he doesn't think so! So I just bend him and make him lie still, and after about 5 mins he gives up and goes sleepy. When I first started doing it though, it would take a lot longer.

Now I'm trying our "new bedtime routine". We give him his last feed, change etc, put him in his cot and read to him. He's more receptive to it than his dad, who doesn't want to read to him at night. Gullivers' travels to start with, but I think if I can just get his dad to even read the range rover mag, it'll be a win!

Movies yesterday was good, we have the Cameo within walking distance here. There were only 3 people in the cinema though, so they're moving the time from 11am to midday from next week. "The Brave One" was good, (love Jodie Foster). Then we checked out wedding flowers, had some lunch, then story time (He LOVES story time! Can't get enough of it! Fully engaged, laughs, smiles and arms and legs go wiggling mad) and coffee with one of the mums.

Kris - I have a couple of sleeping bags, "sprout" brand. Will put him in them tonight I think, but last night was good, he stayed under covers when I moved him there after he was asleep. I think he doesn't like the sheets across his body? In the morning he wanders around the cot keeping himself amused (which is great). But thanks for reminding me about the bags, I keep forgetting them!

    Have a good day all.

Hey there everyone. Charlie is still sleeping through the night, has been for just over a week now, WOW I'm super stoked!! & still can't believe he has 2 teeth. He love chomping on biscuits with them.

Jen..Big Hugs...hope it settles soon. In regards to wrapping for both you & Kristie. I was still wrapping Charlie up til a week ago, he would get out several times during the night & wake up to be re-wrapped. I've found talking to some mum's with older bubs that at this stage it can become a comfort thing & they'll know when they dont want the arms restricted anymore. I found about a week ago it was impossible to get his arms wrapped as he was wriggling way too much, so I jut pop the wrap ontop of him & he cuddles it , IYKWIM. Now he doesn't wake to be re-wrapped anymore, could work for you guys.

Melissa - you can put a little prune juice into some water, this worked for Charlie. Or brown sugar also works, but I don't know how much. I would think it would prob be the bananna, most books warn it constipates & it certainly does for Charlie, so we only have it hear for a day or 2 then onto something else. The apple & pear cleans him right out LOL!

Kaz - I too was going to suggest a Sleeping Bag. Charlie moves around sooo much in the cot that I'm too afraid to have blankets in there. As he even rolls onto his tummy, but often can't roll back & cries, so I'm afraid he'll get caught up in his blankets. The other morning I went in to get him out of bed & he was facing the opposite way to where I put him that night LOL, I was a little shocked. So we just put him in a jumpsuit & then a sleeping bag - plenty warm enough as it's heating up here. Though his bed doesn't look very inviting.

Ooooh I forgot to have Charlie's 6m check, oooops. Thanks for the reminder Kristie, will get onto that next Tues. Last time he was 95% above average in his lenght - he's going to be taller than me in no time!

Ok, have to go. We have a baby shower today...OMG in an hr I just realised & I haven't even showered & Charlie's alseep. I made pink & blue cupcakes, he,he. Well got to run. Hi to everyone else. Sorry to those I've missed, will reply later.

    Hi!

Had a gorgeous day! Dylans got another new trick - he was on all 4's and then he twists around and sits up! OMG! Crazy kid! hehe.
I've left both arms unwrapped tonight so we'll see how we go - he had a grizzle getting to sleep but hopefully he'll sleep ok...I figure it can't really get worse!! hehe.
He only had 4 milk feeds today! Because he had his first one at 5am and went back to sleep the mchn said to just feed him the next one at 10.30-11am...and so he's only had 4 all day - so I'm kind of expecting him to need to feed around 3am or so maybe...

Kaz - Wow - you're good doing the reading!! I'm hopeless with that...although most nights we have a story out for Louis to read before bedtime but I haven't done it with Dylan yet - he'll just want to eat it! hehe
Thats great you have everything so local!! Makes it nice and easy!

Erin - Thats great Charlie's sleeping so well! Yeah - the mchn told me to start sleeping with a t-shirt/blanket to get my smell on it and when he's completely unwrapped to give him those things to cuddle on to, I'm also going to start giving him his little soft doggy to cuddle as well. We'll see how tonight goes anyway...
Hope you had a nice day! The cupcakes sound great!

Oh...and I've booked him in on Monday for his 6 month immunisations...so not looking forward to it - when Louis had his done he spent 2 days in my arms - he had a really bad reaction to it so hopefully Dylan doesn't have the same thing!

    Chat later!

Wow Kristie, Dylan is coming along leaps and bounds. Good luck with the injections.
Olivia did a few more pebbles this morning, but then did a half normal poo today. I will hold off on the banana for a few days. Thanks for the tips. Shes gone to bed half an hour earlier tonight...yay. Last night she woke up at 4am and had a feed and didnt go back to sleep, so she came to bed with us and we managed to get her to sleep for another hour and a half. Hopefully she will start sleeping through again, I really enjoyed that last week!!!
Hi to everyone, hope you are all well....Jen, hope things get better for you.
Its my birthday on Saturday, yay, I turn 32. We are going to see the celebrant which is kind of freaky coz Adam proposed to me on my birthday last year. Hopefully I'll have a quiet one
    Must go and shower
    Take care

    Hi girls,

We have had a busy few days with friends and family things on. We had a bbq and birthday and dinner with freinds.

Kristie, thanks I love the photo too, she's so funny she's already realised what the camera is or that we fuss when the camera is around and she puts on the biggest grins...little monkey. I like the one you have of Dylan too, I can't believe ha's up on all fours!
Sounds like you had fun at the zoo, I can't wait to take Lily!
How sad about your friends baby. I would be a complete wreck if I was in that situation. I hope things can get better for them.
Good luck with changing things for Dyaln, I hope it helps you settle him more.

Tiffany, lucky you having your mum across the road, how handy! Sorry to hear you have to have your teeth out. My dentist tried to get me to get my top ones out but I won't...they're not really that bad, I can live with them!!

Emily, hello and welcome to belly belly and the April forum.

Melissa, congrats on the weight loss! I'm trying to get back to pre preg. weight, and then some...it will take me a while
How exciting with Olivia creeping too! Woohoo, they are all growing too toooo fast!!

Kaz, hello! I love the piccy of Patrick in your ticker, he's adorable.
Lily's started moving all over the cot too. She's gotten her leg stuck a few times the little chubba...Luckily it's been in the day time so it wasn't really a rpoblem. She ends up with no blankies on. I just put enough clothes on her to keep her warm without any and don't worry about covering her up.

Danni, sorry to hear your still having a tough time with Mason. I hope sleep school sorts him out!

Jen, we're waking at the crack of dawn lately too (again!) I can't wait til daylight savings, hopefully that sorts her out...I hope Beau has settled a bit over the last few days for you. Did he get any teeth, Lily was reeeaaally unsettled for two nights before her teeth came up and for about a week and a half before that she was unsettled but not as much. Then her teeth popped up and hey presto!! she was no longer the devil baby, but my sweet little Lily again!
I couldn't get a piccy of Lil's teeth if I tried...I can hardly get a glimpse in her mouth to see them let alone get a photo! I have given Lil a rusk but she gets bored with it and throws them away.

Erin, its great to hear that Charlie has settled again for you. At least he's sleeping well again. I wish Lily would sleep through. Although I can't really complain, she usually only wakes once....but then at 5-5.30 am, that's the killer! I forgot Lily's 6m check too...and her immunisations! I will have to go tomorrow. Still have mushy mummy brain

Ok that's it for us, what an epic post!

Night night! Hope everyone has a great sleep.

Our 6 m check is on Monday, will get the vacc prolly Thursday. Monday we're going to start solids!

Mel - found this thread on constipation? BellyBelly Forums ~ Pregnancy, Birth & Baby

Pip keeps headbutting the ground, not sure why. So we need to get some foam mats for him to play on - there's carpet put down over lino over yellowtongue, so its really hard. Yesterday had 3 head-butts, 2 leg-catches in the cot and one "i got stuck under the coffee table". Meh! I can no longer put him on the floor while I have my shower! But all funny to watch.

Kellie - I can't get a piccy of Pip's teeth either, and have to be in just the "right" spot to see them. DF won't put his finger in Pip's mouth at all, so hasn't felt or seen the teeth. (men!)

    Have a good day all!

Kaz just wondering could the headbutting be a sign of tiredness...just a thought as my cousins has two kids both whom headbutt things when tired. The other night the little boy now 10months was standing in the highchair headbutting the wall as it was past his bed time. Must admitt, I had a little chuckle it was sooo cute.

I now put Charlie in a Sleeping bag for all sleeps, I was starting to get tired of all the leg catches in the cot,he,he.

    Erin,

He headbutts when he loses strength in his neck, when he's on his tummy. Its funny though, you can see his little muscles straining, then there's a "wack" and then silence, then a cry. He's currently in his cot hugging his sheets (the wrong end of the cot at that!) and hopefully will fall asleep, I have no clean bottles for him
