Grubbi thats sweet you got your DH something for mothers day as well hehe, my DH has been playing the motherly roll in our house for quiet sometime with me having another c section and he has done well!

Sharon: Baileys??? yummmy! Sounds like we would get on well I love that stuff I mix it with milk and ice mmmm, I havn't had Baileys in ages! But I did have a can of rum yesterday after deciding to give up BF which was quiet relaxing being able to get back to being me and being able to do what I want I even had coffee this morning too! Wont be having too many rums though have you seen how much they have put pre-mixed drinks up? peevs me off cause I only ever have one or two in a blue moon and I only like the pre-mixed rum! hehe...

Nettie: oh your DH sounds like a darling! where do i find one of them? haha, mine would never think of such a thing hes not a real romantic... when he wants sex he's like... wanna have sex? pfft! like yeah I really feel like it now! taht is so sweet what he did for you!

Oh regarding sex for anybody else thats had C sectons.... how long until you were able to again? DH is nagging the hell out of me, and I am not ready to go there cause my belly feels so bruised ont he inside still although I am alot better than last time, and we had sex 2 weeks in after my 1st c section. I am just worried cause I am doing so well and so much better than last time that if i do have sex I will damage something and end up hurt and in bad bad pain again, I have been baby-ing myself heaps and being real careful with what i do cause I am doin so well I dont wanna go backwards! I mean I feel great and im only 3 weeks in! after 6 weeks this time I should be almost right, fingers crossed! took me 12 months last time somethin wasnt right last time.

Danielle, I'm not sure about sex either. I don't feel up to it yet, a bruised feeling, but DH has hinted a few times... I may see a doc cos the bruised feeling doesn't seem right to me. I was way more healed last time at six weeks along.

I got a book I wanted for mum's day and a few handmade things from DD. I barely noticed the day though, I'm in quite a fog at the moment. I kinda can't wait until this newborn stage is passed to be honest.

From memory they said sex was okay when you feel up to it. A part of me is interested, but there is a bigger part that says don't go there yet. I have some pain when sitting for too long in the wrong position, or holding Greer and walking too much - don't know if there is something stitched together incorrectly or it is cauterisation or what, but it doesn't seem right to me. i certainly will be waiting until I've been to the doctor before having sex.

Checking google - the answer seems to be not until after your 6-8 week visit to the doctor. They want to ensure that your incision is healing well and that your postpartum bleeding has stopped.

Most doctors and specialists will say you should wait at least 4 weeks after having a c-section to have sex again. The reasoning behind this is you want to wait until your body returns to its normal, healed state which typically takes about 4 weeks. But there are also doctors that will tell you to wait 8 weeks and some doctors have even been known to say you can have sex any time you feel up to it. On average, however, most doctors will tell you to wait until the bleeding stops and your body is well on its way to healing.

grubi: I am the same exactly the same! I am ok until sitting too long or walking too long or holding Ryles for too long then I feel real sore and hobble again. I am interested in sex very... but not brave enough either I think I will stick it out and wait it wont kill DH anyhows, he will wait if he loves me

Fire: Im with you I cant wait till the newborn stage is over too! I was dreading the newborn stage again when I was pregnant! Its soooo much work!

I think Ryley is smiling, he does a wide opened smile when he gets excited kicking his arms and legs around when I speak to him, and he keeps doing it when I talk to him... Im confused he is only 3 weeks old almosr 4 weeks... I never have newborn babies, well he still cries and poos like one and keeps me up all night - but he holds and lifts his head up and looks around the whole room! what newborn does that? and he rolled over when the midwife put him on the table to cut his cord!

maybe its cozza how big he is...

Sharon... is oliver very strong being how big he is compared to other babies?

Dannielle - Russell is the same, holds his head up and is focusing on objects and starting to follow them and can roll over sometimes,

as for mothers day - didnt get a thing just a happy mothers day and he got outta bed to hang out with his mate who stayed the night. but hay im not his mother am i(even though his mother sent me a sms saying happy mothers day) o well maybe next time

As for sex, we tryed oever the weekend, but needless to say as much as i enjoyed the closeness, my bodyisnt ready yet and it told me so and started to bleed again(after 3 days no blood)

Question re breast feeding, am still on antibiotics and russell has been really unsettled today, just made him a formula feed and he guzled it despite sucking all day and only sleeping about 5hours since 6 am, my nipples hurt and i am wondering if the antibiotics may have reduced my milk supply again and hes upset cos hes hungry and a good and quick way to bring it back up without resorting tomore meds. Also will i get painfully engorged tomorrow cos of constant feeding today

Lol at the strong babies, perhaps it's a boy thing? I remember thinking that Riv was strong, but Si takes the cake, he's rolling from his tummy and pushing himself up with his arms to look around.

Had an 'aha' moment today, couldn't figure out why Si is sleeping so much, but I think it's a growth spurt. A couple of days ago, the feeds were more frequent, so I think this might be the sleeping part of the spurt.

Hear hear on the newborn stage, the older he gets, the more I enjoy him. I just love interacting with kids, I'm really enjoying Riv (19months) at the moment, he's so much fun - and you just don't see much of a response from newies. People seem so shocked if you even hint that you don't love the newborn stage though.

As for the Mother's Days, those who didn't get anything, tell your partners to pull their socks up, you need to set a tradition/precedent early! And go all out for Father's Day too.
I got brekky in bed, kisses from Riv, a Justin Timberlake dvd, lunch on the couch while watching the dvd, and then a short snooze on the couch. We try not to spend too much $$ on it, leave that for birthdays, more have the day with a token pressie and lots of special treatment. So a noice day for me.

Zennie, just keep drinking water, and maybe even milo and aktivite. If it's just a temporary thing, your bub won't starve, maybe just grit your teeth til tomorrow...

Zennie: I was on anti-biotics too from an infection in my wound, Ryley was horrible the whole time I was on them screamed and screamed and screamed and didnt sleep the pharmascist told me they would give him dioreah, and boy did it ever, my DH was changing him and he shot out sloppy poo like missiles at him and splattered all over his shirt it was soooo halarious! but the poor little man had such bad tummy pains from dioreah so I just stopped taking them he was alot better since I come off of them.

I'm struggling atm. Greer will not stop screaming - she has recently had a power chuck and I don't think it is wise for me to feed her again until she stops screaming, but even holding her or rocking her is not easing the screams. Thankfully DS is happily watching Willy Wonka as DH isn't home to help and I was trying to cook dinner - but have had to turn that off as I can't cook with Greer like she is. Going to see if a bath helps as she is making herself so hot with crying.

Bath didn't help - infact she turned blue around the lips when I finished in the bath. She is now resting eyes closed in my arms - but can't put her down.
