    Hi everyone,

Well Jazz is gurgling happily on her playmat, thought I'd come in and say hello!

She's being such a cutie lately, making some gorgeous noises (and aren't I a gushy mum today!). Still waiting for her laugh, but her smiles are good enough for now.

*giggle* the woman across the road is hilarious, normally she wears the most hideous things that make even me (quite fashion unconscious!) cringe, well today she is wearing something quite trendy and nice... a nice singlet top and a skirt which I almost bought the other day actually.... while doing her gardening I can't help but giggle hehehehe....

Oh bugger well I got to write a few things before she started whinging! Well she can be a sooky lala down there for a few more minutes, shes just making cranky noises, not actually crying.

Firstly, thanks for the birthday wishes everyone!!!!

pixie, congrats on Beth sleeping through!

*sigh* shes crying lets see if her rocker will settle her... nope. seems i will be typing one handed

mm, bugger about daylight savings, being a QLDer i don't really understand it very well but i'm sure it sucks lol.

Vic, happy 3 months to Nakita!!!!!!! wow hasnt that gone quick!

squidipa, how great is that weight gain! woohoo well done! i drink milo twice a day to keep my boobies going strong! How come you have to go all the way to ipswich for the dr? That seems a bit excessive, surely theres a specialist in Brisbane!

    YAY! Sleeping!

Mel, :P yep so old now, better start thinking about retirement eh! I'm so lazy, was thinking about coming down to the park and then got lazy. I'm pretty slack...

So whats this eternity ring? I'm due now... LOL! I suppose I owe Shel one as well... ah well, lets just forget about that until my birthday money is spent ($200 woohoo thanks sis!) hahahaha!

Well haven't had a Jazz weighed since 4 weeks, well it was almost 5 weeks, she was 5kg, 1.2kg over her birth weight, and she's 8 weeks yeaterday how bl00dy slack am I, well I fell through the cracks with the child health nurses. Because I birthed in Caboolture the Sunshine Coast service didn't have me on their books, but because I'm considered Sunshine Coast the Caboolture service took me off their books. So I have an appointment with the nurse next Monday so hopefully will be able to get some support, get Jazz weighed. Also she gets her needles Monday. Eeeeek, I could barely standing them doing the heel ***** test

TMI... She had green poos today, is that normal? She usually has dark mustardy ones, today they were like seaweed green. She seems more sleepy than usual, but nothing else out of the ordinary.

Well its cooled down a bit gotten a bit blowy outside so I better get my nappies off, I'd say they'd be dry, only been on all day lol. Or I could leave them for Shel, she'll be home in 10 minutes, and I can keep shopping online nah better do the washing, Shel is cooking tonight YAY! Don't want her to decide not too!

    Hello all,

Popping in quickly to say Kye had another huge gain today - 650 grams ... eek!!
Everyone keeps telling me "hes a big boy" but I am starting to get a bit paranoid that it is too much. Had a talk to the nurse and she wants me to document his intakes the next couple of days so she can have a look and assess things.

He has been good today in regards to his day sleeps - had a two hour block this morning which is sooooo not like him and has been asleep in his swing for the past hour, woooohooo!

Leasha- Kye has had greenish poos the last couple of days but I think that's more because I changed his formula
He's been a bit constipated too poor fella, I feel like a $hit mummy sometimes!

Anyways must finish doing his bottles for tonight and make a start on dinner.

    Hope everyone is well!

    good morning ladies.
I have started a log of all my feeds and how many times joshs jumps on and off the boob and what side i been feeding on to try to understand some things like what times of day is it any better and how long in total feeding.. Thought ild share my progress with you all i mean who else do i have to share it with bar from hubbie

    this is yesterdays
1/10/08 3 nappy changes no pooey's and the nappies wernt even choca full no nappy rash here so know he is not in it TOO long. Smells fine to me We normally get more nappies but not yesterday (first time ever no poo)

    5.44am 19-20 mins feeding
    7.10am 10 mins feeding
10.58am 20 mins feeding 14 times reattaching Both sides of breasts (BS)
12.10pm 6 mins Feeding LS (Left side breast)
4.20pm 25 mins feeding 9 times reattaching LS
9.08pm 17 mins Feeding 5 times reattaching RS

I am trying a new style of breast feeding for me anyhow just being more persistent in this one style only. BTW He falls off the boob not i taking him off and re attaching he does this him self on and off.

Since trying this new technique he has stopped with so much of the winging and ups and downs and lefts and rights and back and forths with nipple in mouth Plus my nipple has been same shape going in and out for whole time since starting this. So progress is being made !!

Our goal is in 4 weeks time he has gained 600 grams BIG ask i feel but realistic too so i am trying here. Some times he just goes NOPE dont want to boob. He is resting in bouncer next to me i want to feed him 2 more times if possible this morning to make up for his long sleep last night he was stirring last night more than normal but i was just to exhausted to do more than just a dummie insert. He normally isnt like that he normally is up when the rooster crows or thats his first stir. So gotta squeeze some more feeds in today. And drink that stuff the milk is just defrosting.

Woke up to a swollen lip thought oh great a colsore but i am not convinced it it no blister or even soreness just numb swollen so ill have to wait and see maybe im having a reaction to some thing i did wake with a sore throat oh man i hope i didn't swallow an insect ewwwllll

    Hi Mountain Mummy

Thanks for the tip, I feel less of a dummy now that I got my ticker working.
I look forward to getting to know everyone in this group, are there many in Melbourne?
I'm trying to slow down and work and focus more on enjoying the last weeks of my pregnancy and joining this forum is my incentive.

    Have a great day.

    Hi Squidipa
Good to hear you are persisting with BF. Just curious if you have tried a nipple shield? I had to use one to begin with because Jett had a short tongue and couldn't attach properly, similar to TT. It makes it easier for them to latch on. Have you seen a lactation consultant? They can help you with the nipple shield if that is a possible solution. It apparently can affect supply but I haven't found that for me personally which is why it is a really good idea to see one.

Paradiva - I am from Melbourne, and quite near you actually - in Diamond Creek!

Crap lost my post, grrrr trying again...

    Hi Mums, Bubs and Bump

Patricia, I am from Adelaide so not very close.

Squidipa - I agree with MT, I would consider the Nipple Shields, it sounds like Josh is have a hard time with attachment and having the ability to stay attached, most likely connected to the TT. I have PM's you a link to Nipple Shields, I used the Medela they are great, they come in a twin pack too, you have to wash them after each feed with warm soapy water, I chuck mine through the sterilizer as well when I have a chance, not really required but if I had room.

Not much sleep for me last night, Nakita decided that at 3am it was party time....and has basically been a poobah since!

We have premmie playgroup this afternoon in the botanical gardens as normally we don't have sessions over the holidays, but we have decided to meet on our own accord.

Also meeting friend and her prem from another forum so pretty excited!!

Hi girls! I have been reading your posts and will try and come back to give personals later this week (PS HAPPY belated birthday Leasha!!!) but my computer got a virus and died so I need to get it reformatted.. thankfully DH got all my files off it safely. I'm using his laptop at the moment.

Quick update from me... Eli slept through the night twice in the last three nights yeah! 9pm - 6am His eye infection lasted only a day so no biggie. He gives me the cutest smiles and grins and is "talking" a lot more, especially when I sing to him, it's like he's trying to sing along!!

*Hugs* to all, hope you are having a fantastic week.

AND I've been to the gym 3x this past week Yeah!

Yep same ones used here. Got them at a chemist. And same care as well. Warm soapy water wash for after each feed and I try to sterilize once a day. LC told me that but the instructions say to sterilize after every use - poo to that I say!

Well we have been having a hard time of it over the last couple of days. DH has had a nasty cold for over a week now and finally Jett and I have caught it. So as you can imagine the poor little mite is pretty miserable, and extremely clingy. Thank god for Children's Panadol is all I can say! He was all smiles when he woke up last night so it must be doing the trick. Although he had a nasty tanty this morning.... Feeding this morning has been quite traumatic as he is very snuffly so breathing and feeding is quite difficult. I should know I had the same problem last night. Both sinuses blocked completely so I couldn't swallow my dinner. Try pinching your nose and swallowing - impossible!

I had my first new-parents group yesterday. All 4 of us!! There were 10 invited but only 4 turned up! They are all lovely though and we all have boys. And I think there are 6 girls in the invite group!

Leasha - regarding the green poop - Jett gets it too. He seems to go from bright fluro yellow, mustardy coloured poo, mustardy coloured poo tinged with vegemite through to green. All breastmilk! And apparently all normal and nothing to be concerned about!

Kel - Sorry to hear about poor Cadence. That must have been horrible crying all day and no one taking any notice or thinking to call you.

Sasha - I hope you manage to sort out your weight-gaining/feeding woes.

Squidipa - I hope the MW is helpful next week, but the nipple shields are def something to consider. PM me if you want to ask any details of feeding with one.

Vic - Have fun at premmie playgroup and meeting your friend from the other forum!

Rach - stupid virus! Can't believe you have been to the gym 3 times this week! Mind you I am joining a gym next week so then it will be all systems go... although I am not allowed to do anything too strenuous until after 3 months due to the c-sect.

MM - You are a machine! I don't know how you do it all! I wanna be like you when I grow up!

Big hello to everyone else - CM4E, Pixie and The Bear and anyone else I've forgotten!

    Hi all!

Veygas has been a little poopy pants today (and not in the eliminating kind of way either! ) ... all he has wanted to do is feed feed feed and not sleep, and cries every time I put him down And I am trying to deal with this calmly after the 3 hours of sleep I got last night! <- NOT Veygas's fault!

DP came home yesterday morning sick as a dog and his temp kept going up and down all night, so with his coughing and snoring and me having to roll over everytime he rolled over (so he wasn't breathing in my face!) and then having to feed Veygas, I didn't get much sleep at all (... don't know why V is so grumpy today though!) I didn't get to sleep between his 11pm and 2.30am feeds AT ALL (thanks DP!) and then it took til about 4.30am for me to finally get to sleep, then up again at 6am! So yeah, a bit tired today!

Sorry for the lack of personals, but this website ain't gonna build itself!
