Nic Welcome hun, great to see you here! Congrats on little Arabella
Kellie I hope Lily isn't in too much pain with her ear poor little thing!
Sorry I haven't been posting. I have been reading your posts so am pretty much up to date with you all I just haven't been up to doing a big personal post.
Been very stressed here. DH & I are at each others throats everyday for about the past 2 weeks. I wont go into it but its driving me mental.
Tobias has been good, gaining lots of weight. Into sz 000 & quickly out-growing the newborn sized huggies nappies. I bought some MCN's but he's too small for them & I dont have any money to buy more atm so using the disposables we have which I managed to pick up for cheap off ebay from a lady who lives near me & had opened boxes from when her little one grew out of them. He sleeps for about 7 hours straight for his first night time sleep which is currently from about 8pm, then 4 hours after that one. I'm trying to get his long sleep starting a little later though so I get more sleep in bed haha. He's also awake alot during the day now.
I still havent had a chance to get my anti-biotics for my right nipple infection. I went to the medical centre twice today but the wait was far too long with Tobias with me so I hope to get in there sometime when there's not much wait as I need to get rid of this infection. Sorry if TMI but its got an awful smell to it now which is gross & I know not a good sign. I also need a pap test as I'm now almost a year over-due, cant let that go!
I hope everyone is well & I hope to catch up on personals when I'm in a better state of mind.
Danielle, I hope things aren't too serious with DH. If you would like to get out one day and meet up, we could, I'm not really that far away, I'm sure there's somewhere in between we could find. Maybe it will get your mind off things, you sound quite stressed out and thatis not good .
Liam is getting really big too, DH weighed him with him (kwim??) and according to our scales he's now 5.3kg!!! He's out of his 000 bonds suits and even some of his other clothes are small. He definately doesn't fit into huggies nappies and hasn't for a week or two. But we use Aldi and they are bigger.
You need to go to the dr right NOW!!!! Your nipple sounds really damaged and infected, not to mention sore. I need a pap test too, I don't even remember when I got one done. Before Lily was born, even conceived, so at least 2yrs ago...probably more, since I was pg for 3mths before she was born too, then a few months before she was conceived......
I love your ticker pic, it's very cute, I'm trying hard to get a nice one of Lily and Liam, but it's just not happening!! I have a thousand dodgy pics of them together, LOL!
Ok going to bath my little monkey. I hope things are calm for you tonight and again hun.
oh kel... poor lily. glad things are sounding somewhat better for you!
danielle: you do sound stressed, hope things calm down with dh soon.
thomas is out of 0000 now and almost 000 but more from his length, i am going to go a weigh him today. Hay all the elastic in my MCNs has failed... thats 24 nappies! they are bumgenious.... what is everyone else using? i have had them for 18months but thats not long when they are $28 each.....
danielle i hope your nipple gets better soon .. it sounds sooo painful ..
I have to see a specialist in toowong sometime this week or soon , both for me and Gabriella ..
I saw a clinc nurse monday and G was 4 kgs .. so 500grams since birth .. its not heaps but not too little kwim .. so i got sent to a LC as i said i am thinking of weaning from my left boob , i just cant stand the pain it brings , and we went over the symptoms ive been having and have ruled out mastits, thrush , vasospam and poor attachment ...
she believes i have poor protractility of the nipple , meaning it doesnt stretch as much as it should , each feed G makes clicking sounds and is fussy the milk dibbles out her mouth and she swallows heaps of air ... but on the right side i could feed upsidedown in water while doing backstroke if i felt like it and not have any problems ...
and seeing as i had the same problem feeding nix i better get it checked .. and she still feed every 30mins when she is awake , her longest sleep being the night time one and early morning
Gabriella is still really spewy and often projectile vomits .. and it always happens after feeding from the left side and it seems to always be around 3am and when there are clean sheets on the bed ..so i am geting her checked for reflux ..
nixon is ****inf me off sooooooo bad right now , he isnext to me chucking the biggest tanty because i wouldnt let him spray powder all over the room, so now he is hitting me and pulling the cord on my hoody from my jumper , which he has pulled all the way out .. grr his tantys are soo often these days .. i try to play with him , but hes always played by himself and quite happy to do so .. he never really wants my attention when i want to give it to him , but when i cant really give my attention to him is when he wants it .. he wont take a day nap in a big bed , only when we are out in the car he will sleep in the day .. so by the time i have to pick dh up he is feral .. its only a short drive to the station and usually he is asleep by the time we get there , so is asleep in the car at about 5.30-6ish then have to wake him and is cranky all through dinner , then after his bath doenst want to go to bed and chucks tanties ...
its sooo draining and im over it , i just dont know what to do ..
Milly : i use Baby BeeHinds ...and they are great , i dont like using pockets or nappies with microfleece in them as nix gets rashy and can smell a bit after heaps of use ... I have gone through my nappy stash and thrown out all the magic alls that are old and not as good as they used to be .. imo the nappies with the man made materials dont last as long as fitteds.... the fitteds are too big for gabriella right now , probably when she gains another kilo or so she eill fit them but right now she is in bambino mio and fitteds from pookey pockets and ones that my friend has made ...
she is still in 0000 but her feet are long so dont really fit the all in one suits , but ive been buying heaps in 000 as she will be that size before i know it and the summer is long out in ipswich so she should be able to wear it all by the way shes growing , i dont think she will be a heffer just yet ...
Im still using huggies newborn here and there , mostly at night and she still fits them perfectly but when i finish the pack i will get the aldi ones as back up .. we use a sposie on nix if its been raining or ive run out of nappies .. or when hes has a shuge drinkl of milk before bed .. other wise its a bbh with a booster and a fleece cover ... i do have wool ones but they are pretty bulky on an already bulky kid ...
poor gab , she is asleep next to me and has wind , she is pulling faces like shes about to cry then it looks like she is smiling and her eyes flicker open ..
we whent and brought heaps of play things for nix , like thouse plastic slides and cubby houses , and a picnic table .. but ever since we brought them its rained so i cant take him out side to play because everythign is wet ...
its overcast today and i have plonked nix infront of the telly ... i feel bad (well i feel judged ) if i admit to how often i put the tv on for him ...
seeing as hes up early each morning , i put the cartoons on on my room so he can be in bed with me while i snooze usually a few hours a day he watches tv while playing ... is that bad .. i am forever wondering if it is as damaging as the experts say it is ...
why do"child health experts" like to make mums feel guilty ...
Lea, re: tv, don't feel guilty hun, I know easier said than done. I have been doing the same sometimes. When DH is out, I get overwhelmed sometimes. Lily is so full on and will just whinge and whinge if she doesn't get what she wants, so I put on hi 5 or In the night garden and she'll be good for half an hour. Sometimes that's all she needs to become a different little girl. I think the pro's outweigh the cons (for us at the moment anyway). Cons being a very stressed mummy who screams and ends up in tears from guilt for screaming at DD. I wouldn't worry surely it's not going to damage them in the long term, or in any time for that matter. When we're sorted with our new bubs we will get into a new routine and there will be less tv. And besides it's not as if they're watching horror movies or anything. It's hi 5 for goodness sake. Yes I would love to be a fully functioning enthusiastic full of energy mum, but at the moment I'm not, so tv it is.
hi everyone
Im so glad to hear of other babies growing out of 0000's i was beginning to think Lucy was a sumo...everyone keeps saying how big shes getting but she still looks tiny to me, except when i squeezed her into her wondersuit last nite
I used to worry about my now 8 year old watching too much tv but it hasnt affected him at all socialy or mentaly.
bye for now
Tasha
Dont feel judged Lea....just lie when people ask how much TV your kids watch its none of the "experts" business what you do
Sadly tv has never worked for Grace and eve shows no sign of being interested in it... It sometimes buys me 10mins in the morning to have a shower but im normally still in there when i get grace saying "i turned the tv off mum. What you doing?" And normally she will just end up more upset if there is an ad or something on that has any emotion she doesnt understand on, or the news preview !nightmare
I say be happy that buys you some time and be proud that thats all you need to be happier and calmer mum
Trust me with three on my own most of the time id love a little tv time, oh i did forget "the fairies" buys me a little longer but only if not over used
