Ali gets her injections tomorrow not looking forward to them at all and since my mum is away my aunt is going to come with me for moral support and then she will stay with us and have dinner esp until DH gets home from work ....

Ali got the milk pimples as well and in the heat they flare up even worse than normal .. they have started clearing on her cheeks but are now spreading to the back of her ears etc .. I took her to the dr about them as well and he said they are normal and it can last until she is 12 weeks old but not to do anything to them .... so we have left them and they are s l o w l y clearing up ....

I read somewhere today that chocolate can give babies wind and whenever I eat it I think it affects Ali so my days of enjoying some chocolate are well and truly over I think .... bummer .... but worth it for her to be wind free .... has anyone else know what triggers affect the wind in bubs?

Mel - For the milk pimples they clinic nurse told me to rub olive oil on her to help with the dryness and also it exfoliates the dead skin off. Works a treat!!
Yes Chloe is affected by what i eat. Prime example last night which resulted in 4 hours of screaming followed by an explosion in her nappy!! Happened a few times now. Not sure what caused yesterdays' but the one before was the result of Chicken Stir Fry.

Oooh, meant to ask, are any of you sydney girls coming to the meet up tomorrow??
Didn't know there was a Sydney meet!

Tasha, gab screamed for about 2 seconds till she got over the shock .. has she got a dummy ?? i stuck her on the boob and she forgot about the pain quicksmart , so you can offer he a dummy to suck on to take he mind off the pain .... i have not had a problem at all with her ears .. i was a bit nervous before it got it done .. but i feel its easier for them now then later as they might accidentally pull on them ... its OK , you wont feel bad for long when you see how pretty she is with her earings

Melsta, i am trying so hard to comp, last night i didnt use a tomme tippee bottle ,i just used a normal long skinny teat and she screamed for about 10mins before i tried a latex NUK wide neck teat , she screamed for a further 10mins before my mum handed her back to me and i had to feed her ... then she used me as a pacifier until about 10pm , when she finally fell into a deep sleep ...

iam buggered ....
I'd love to get Chloe's ears pierced but too scared for her!!!

Which Tomme bottles did you try? The Closer to Nature ones?? That is what Chloe uses and she doesn't seem to suck well on the avent or other bottles now so I've stuck with the CTN ones as they are like a nipple and nice and wide. I've stopped direct BF'ing and am now just expressing, giving Chloe the EBM first and then top up with formula. You could try some different bottles to see which she prefers but I'm sure if you persist she will get the hang of it. If she doesn't like the formula then maybe again try a different brand. Alot of the formulas you can now buy a popper size or sticks of formula which are 1 serving size so that might be easier to trial them first. Maybe start her off on BB so she gets some initial fullfillment and isn't screaming and in desperate immediate need for food, then offer her some EBM in bottle, and try changing bottle each time to see which one she likes. Can you borrow some different bottles from friends so it doesn't cost you a fortune to find one she likes?

Milly - I was the big 30 on Thursday man it came around quickly but had a good day ... DH bought me a Swarovski watch and put Happy 30th Birthday banners up in our loungeroom and on the front door then bought home profiteroles and wine for dessert with a big bunch of flowers so I was utterly spoiled ... Ali got me vouchers to go clothes shopping yay !!!!

Had my birhtday lunch today and everyone chipped in to buy me a new camera complete with extra zoom lens etc so am very happy and will no doubt be working it in on Ali and DH !!!! Went to ribs and rumps for lunch and now totally stuffed .... feel like having a nap but w a y too much to do around here *sigh* .....thank goodness i have energy I say !

Enjoy the weekend gals .. xo
Mel - HAPPY BIRTHDAY.. Glad you had a lovely time. I LOVE Swarovski. I have alot of the crystals... We were planning to go to Ribs N Rump in the next few weeks as our fancy night out.

US I'm no longer directly breastfeeding Chloe. The frustration got too much with her not attaching and my LC told me I'd effectively have to teach her from the start again how to attach. Considering I never had to do this when she was born as she just attached without issue it would be a stressful thing I'd say and so after thinking about it I'm going to stick with expressing and giving her EBM and a FF top up. It's been almost a week since she has actually fed from me but I'm taking motillium and fenugreek and my milk is still ok so will just keep doing this until my milk gives out. I was worried about her weight so on Friday I took her to the clinic. She put on 400g in 10 Days!!! Clinic nurse was very happy with it. So she is almost 8 weeks now and is 3.8kg.

We are now working on sleep patterns and I'm getting her to self settle which has some successes and then some failures but she is learning. I am finding I really am getting to know her cries and can tell hubby what each means.

Today I went shopping for xmas pressies and took advantage of the target toy sale. Got her a few things and so did mum so that was good as I got a head start on it.

Tomorrow will be home to do work so that should be a little mundane but has to be done. This week I have to take Chloe for her needles which I'm not looking forward to. Going to try for Wednesday as my GP doesn't work Thursday and then I'll leave Thurs/Fri with nothing planned in case she has a reaction. My OB suggested I get my rubella boosted as I was borderline immune but don't fancy being jabbed at the moment so maybe I'll wait till we maybe think of #2 which for me is not on the horizon for quite awhile..

Anyway chat soon.
