Awww Squidipa - that must be so disappointing for you - but think of it this way - maybe 10g is all that is normal for HIM to gain, and you said he poos all the time - so he is just digesting all your good milk really easily - but is still being a little trooper!!!!! I think any weight gain is good... at least he's not losing weight IYKWIM? Try to keep your chin up honey. Let me know when you want me to come down and hold Josh for you so you can have a nap, or do some housework (I can help too!!) or just come down for a cuppa. Thursdays and Fridays are better days, just cos DS is in day care so I'll just have DD. But I'll come whenever you need me....

Sasha - a heated doona??? WTF??? I've never heard of that - but DAMN it sounds nice!!!

Hi MT - good to hear about Jett sleeping - pass some sleepy vibes over this way can ya? hehe

Leasha - we'll have to catch up another time. Just can't take the monster toddler out that late in the morning so close to his nap - everyone there would regret that I did so!! LOL.... Shel sounds like she's adjusting well to motherhood then Oh and I'm sorta bleeding if that makes sense... like... if I go diggin around with toilet paper there is blood on it... but not on undies.. pmsl...

Kiwi - I'm sure you are doing a GREAT job.. its natural to doubt yourself, but remember - nobody knows your baby like you do - so therefore you know best

Gudsim Your kindness is ovber whelming, I am feeling quite blessed just to have met you online. Thurdsay days for me are good days as the 3 year old is in care too. maybe we can arrange something for next week yeah? Gotta check with hubbie he didnt have plans k.

Been trying to get extra feed sin for josh altho my boobs are constanly soft soft like real soft. Dunno if stress is making this difficult i am doing a criminal compensation claim well infact 4 of them and this keeps me a bit outa sorts at times. Hubbie made me bacon and eggs last night for tea that was soooo good! I do feel the boobs filling up tho. Normally on his feeding times. I have to hunt my breast pump down gonna try to force my body to make more. Hubbie said he will try to look after me more like making sure im drinking enough too.

I am off to do a few things, express and go to bed early!
You call 8.50pm early??? LOL! I am usually dead to the world by that time!!!

Sasha - I envy your heated doona!! My bl00dy electric blanket ***** itself last night so I had to try to conserve my body heat!! But I didn't mind getting up to Veygas the four or five times he cried last night cause he has the heater in his room, so I spent about half the night holding him and dozing on the rocking chair!! Hopefully spring hurries up so I can wait six or so more months before buying a new leccy blankie!

Leasha - I'm sure you'll do fine being an at-home-alone mummy!!

Squidipa - HUGE hun, I'm sorry the doc didn't fully address your concerns. I agree with Mel, as long as he's not losing weight, I wouldn't worry too much. My ECH nurse said it is quite normal for babies to just plateau with their weight at times. I don't remember my DD putting on large amts of weight - 9 days after birth she had only put on 20grams and by 6 - 7 wks old she was 1kg heavier than birth weight ... I know it's hard but try not to stress honey!

    MT - Welcome back!!!!

Well, I gotta try to detach this velcro baby so I can get dinner started (yeah, early I know, but it's gotta be done now cause we have to be outta here by about 1.45pm for v's u/s and dp needs to eat (and prolly leave) before we get home, so try to gt it done while v is sleeping!

hope everyone is having a good day!

I am at work today, not just working from home, actually at the office and it is great, Nakita is here and I have 3 other "baby sitters" and official "cuddlers" LOL! They love having her here.

I am going to come down to the office more as I am gettng more done with the help! And the weather is nicer so more inviting to get out of the house!!

    Hi everyone!

Mel - a big thanks heaps for all your encouragement to everyone and to me and sasha - thanks too, nice to know I'm not the only one paranoid after a power chuck! I'm feeling relaxed about feeding him again now, just need to keep an eye on him in the evenings if he's getting greedy LOL.

My midwife was so lovely and encouraging yesterday - Eli is now 5.44kg and 61.5cm long!! Big boy LOL. He slept so well last night compared to the night before, yay! Slept 4 hours at night so I feel fantastic today. I think he may have a teeny bit of nappy rash (using disposables overnight) so will try air his bum out more before he has his baths.

I'm going to be sad to say goodbye to my midwife - only 2 more appointments before I'm under Plunket's care. Want to get her something nice to say thanks... trying to think of ideas.

I got my mum a homemade journal from etsy - ended up coming from Aussie To say thanks for all her help lately.

Vic - must be nice going into work and having a change of scene and some normalcy

MT - so glad you're back!! Jett is such a great name, love it!

Hey a question for you all I was curious about... when you gave birth, did you cry and get all emotional about your new baby? Or what was it that got you and/or your partners emotional (in a positive way!)?

For us, it was telling people Eli's name - and hearing other people say his name aloud. We hadn't told anyone (except for having it in a list on a poll here on BB!!) and I hadn't really called Eli by his name before he was born when I talked to him - wanted to see him first? Yeah so hearing people's responses to his name was a big deal and got us *both* emotional

Rachel - just being able to spend time together, just the 3 of us, to bond (having a big family, this was important to us) They docs and midwives left us in the delivery suite for about 6 hours after Veygas was born ... we got emotional trying to work out whose ears he had, looking at how long his fingers were and just watching him in general.

We have had some mixed responses about his name though! Lots of our "younger" friends think it's cool, but it really puts strangers (who like to look at other peoples babies) in their place ... they say he's adorable, ask his name and when I PROUDLY say Veygas, some say "as in Las Vegas?" like it's a stupid name, and others simply walk away without another word!! LOL!

    It sooooo suits him though!

    Hey all,

Checking in for today - havent read back on all the posts. Man I am finding it hard to keep up now

Sasha - a heated doona??? WTF??? I've never heard of that - but DAMN it sounds nice!!!
Yeah its a Sunbeam one that you put inside your doona cover. Instead of it being like an electric blanket underneath you its over top of you, the best invention!! And even better it is dual controlled so hubby and I can have it at different settings!

Well its a horrible day here today. Been raining constantly and it is freezing

Have had a up and down day with Kye. Last night he slept really well. I put him down at 9:30pm and he slept right through till 2:30am this morning. Back in bed at 4am and woke up at 7:30am. This afternoon was a bit of a shocker though. Had a restless couple of hours but finally tuckered himself out at 2pm and is still asleep which is great I needed the time to get a roast chicken in the oven, yum!!

Anyways thats it from me, gotta check on the vege!

HUGE for all you lovely mums that were hooked to to soo many machines that go "ping" I was on my back only for a short while at the end, to do the episiotomy, and the pain was excruciating (all my labour pain albeit short was in my back) I could not have imagined being stuck on my back any longer it was terrible, but very lucky it wasn't for long.

OMG Squidipa - what a shock waking up to that!!!

Did anyone fid it really painfull on your belly when they used the doppler to find the heartbeat - towards the end of my labour the were pushing it soo hard on my belly it was hurting more than the contraction?? I ended up telling them to PO cos I could feel her kicking, she was fine, so they stopped, and let me get on with it....

    Hi everyone,

ladies and the Bear I was fighting off tears reading your stories until I read MM's bed goes up bed goes down comment reminded me of a simpsons episode

Answer to the question about crying after the birth yep I cried partly because I had to hold on and stop pushing for an hour and partly because this is the last time I was going to have a baby and experience this special moment.

The only time I was on my back was when they checked how far dialated I was and because Allegra was on my back it was soooooo painful. But I did have Cadence on my back and boy it hurt!
Sorry Vic I didn't find it painful when they were looking for the heart I was in the bath did anyone know they can go under water? I was trying to climb out far enough so it would get wet and I wouldn't get electricuted I had no idea they can go underwater

MM- I wish you heaps of luck with Veygas's op. YAY for your 4.5 year old it's sooo much easier when they can use the toilet

Squidipa- how are you going chicky sorry I haven't been in contact

Pixie and The Bear- I agree with everyone about your picture of Beth It would have been so hard she's beautiful guys you've done well

Nup, p!ssing down here ... we were hoping the warmer weather was going to stick around cause we've nearly run out of wood for the fire and didn't really want to have to buy any more this year!!

Dumb question, but for you Qld-ers, (or anyone who may know) does anyone know anything about Stanthorpe? eg is it nice, rough, houso etc ...

hey kel ... we all good babies take up so much time there will be time for you and i to meet up again some time k sweet.

Beema.. i hated the band on my belly to monitor the heart rate with baby 1 it hurt especially with contractions it was resisting the belly. My waters broke at 2am and i delivered at 7.23pm labour as the hospital would say was 12 hours very ouchies and i was induced. I remember after giving birth all i wanted in my daze was a drink of 7up and something to eat as i wasnt allowed to eat from waters breaking. The ex hubbie ate in delivery room and got food poisoning and was throwing up everywhere, i found this funny hahaha. While pushing i Bit him real hard on his tummy.

When she was born the first words i said was this "how the f*** did she fit in there" I was gob smacked at her 8.5 pound size. I cried when i saw her they layed her briefly on my belly before cutting cord then tried to make her breathe. When i did shower after i turned the shower off the blood would not stop running my feet were covered in it. My support person and hubbie at time had this real bad look on their face. Being my first i had no idea if it was k. The MW walked in and she rushed out of the room then i was concerned. I stuck two pads to my hands and wiped right up the inner parts of my legs starting on my ankles. In hospital i had 4 pads on top of each other and felt like i was constantly in a pool of blood. I remember being wheeled back to my room and i made the MW stop as we passed some scales and i jumped on i had lost 4 kilo pretty cool being i gained 40 in that pregnancy.

I never saw my mother intill 1 week after delivering. Second born it was 1.5 weeks after 3rd born my sister made her come so saw her on day 3. baby 4 well i am in diff state. My mother didnt live far away. Her priorities obviously was not i. While on the topic of special event and not having family there my first wedding both my sisters did not come. My sister inlaw arrive 1 hour late so we delayed wedding. The second wedding i decided to marry in NZ without any family there just hubbies family. It went real well every detail was planed for a real reason. Everything defined who we are. We didnt have a big cake just a small mudcake but over 100 mud cupcakes towers down on a several level cake stand.

Gee im going off on my memory banks arnt i hehe gotta scoot now hubbie made me cake. In a love heart tin. Well sorry hubbie im still bleeding so no deed today hehe Any one esle still bleeding?
Naaa i know he aint after that!! he isnt lika that Sleep is such a luxury these days hey!
