Cass thats great you are starting a new playgroup. Im looking forward to starting a few new things too now that school is starting again this week. We have Sammy going to toddler gym which i think he will just love...and will burn off lots of energy too hehe and a music class for littlies. We used to go when he was a little baby but gave it a break for a while but think he will be just the right age now. Its so much fun this age isnt it!!!
More swimming today..its been so hot. Darren is in Perth watching the cricket sweltering in the heat! Sammy is getting so confident in the pool and and is happy to go under water. He counts one two three and then we gently pull him under with us...clever sausage.
Hope you are all well ladies and preggie ladies hope you arent suffering too much with the heat.
HI all! Everyone sounds like they had a fab Australia day.
Jo - Sammy will have a blast at the gym, lucky boy! Are the kids back to school this week?
Cass - Hope the new playgroup goes well. And 45min drive is far too long I say, although I guess not too bad considering it's Sydney. I feel very lucky here - I can walk everywhere. I hate getting in the car and whenever we are on holidays the only condition is that wherever we go, once we are there we don't need to drive anywhere!
Storm - Is the motilium working yet?
Hi Louise, how is Maria going?
Hello Fletch, Brooke, Rae, Trace and all the other pg mummies!
I swear I have baby brain atm. We have decided not to start TTC #3 till after next summer - yay! I actually thought I may have been pg just after Christmas, DH was actually disappointed when I wasn't  Next summer will be so much fun 'cos Ned should be walking by then hopefully and it will be totally different. Gets me down sometimes being a bit restricted in terms of sleeps and feeds and stuff, even though I get out of the house at least twice a day with the kids.
Anyway I'm babbling. Off to play with Ned while Lucie is asleep and then off to the shops.
Sorry I havent been around much!! Work has been busy & stressful, but thats' all been sorted out now & I now just wiat to hear what they have up their sleeves for after my Maternity Leave!!!!
I did tell them last Wednesday that i am really not wanting to have a responsibility role & just 8-12 is all i want so i can be home with the kids everyday... they kinda smirked like they have something up their sleeves, so I stressed to the HR girl that i really dont want any stress & my kids are my priority!!! She is on my side & siad she has stressed that to them & going to force them to listen to us!!! So fingers crossed that's sorted out sooner than later!!!
Indah is now singing Happy Birthday & Twinkle Twinkle all the time.... unless someone looks at her or we have friends over! hee hee
On Friday Dh cooked a stack of prawns & fish & I did a salad & scalloped potatoes & we had garlic cheesy breads & cakes etc as what was a few ppl coming over turned into 15ish adults!!! Plus several kiddies!!! My girlfriends son is 9 days younger than Indah & has been running for 4+ months she ofcourse hesitates from 1 spot to another, she asked if Indah talks & I proudly said she talks heaps..... So do you think she'd talk...? The whole day she was shy & silent & covered her face up whenever their son came near & they snatched toys etc.... But when they left she entertained everyone with walking a bit, a few songs & her usual chattering!!! Weird..
Then yesterday a friend of DH's popped in with his wife & they have a 9 month old daughter, Indah talked to her laid on the ground with her & brought toys out for her to play with & gently touched her fingers & stuff at one stage she drooped a toy & the baby cried & Indah looked petrified & said Oooopsy!
So she was fine with a younger baby, then our friends who recently married dropped in with their 6 month old daughter she is mixed Thai & very thin & petite, Indah laid on the floor with her & stroked her hands & legs & was so gentle... At FDC there are kids aged 2.5+ boys & girls & Indah follows them around all day idolising them , I wonder why she was so shy & coy around our friends son Riley!! hee hee funny to watch actually!
I know she gets a bit scared, intimidated by boisterousness (is that a word) although she can be stubborn & loud she doesnt like rushing around here & there so amybe thatw as it!???
Why is it Long weekends are faster than normal weekends! 90days of work til I am on maternity leave from Jun 23rd til Jan 2008!! YAY.....
Wow Trace...the coutdown. Thats pretty exciting. I wonder what they have got up their sleeve for you. Will they be letting you know soon? Kids are funny like that arent they. Sammy is so different around some people as well. His latest thing is poo...poo everywhere....hes fascinated with it. LOL. Swimming in the pool the other day there was a leaf and he put his hands up and said oh no poo! I really had to reasurre him that no there is not poo floating around in the pool hehe.
Soph yay on working out when to start ttcing again. That sounds like a great plan. Will be nice to have a bit of a break for you no doubt. You are doing such a great job though with Ned and Lucie being so close. Bet they grow up to be great mates. Wow at the pregnancy scare after Christmas ...bet that got you thinking!!! Lol at your Dh...its so easy for them!!! School starts on Wednesday here...so will be a short settling in week. Jess starts high school and and is going on the bus. Its very weird. Her first ever first day where Im not going to be there....shes growing up...sigh.
Storm...i know you can relate. Hows Amy feeling about high school? Hope everything is going well now feeding wise for you and little Angel. How is little Zaccie??
Another hot day here....Sammy has been out jumping on the sprinkler..funny boy. Hes running around in his big boy jocks now.
Hi Ya girls ..quick selfish post as I am about to run into a meeting. Just wanted to let you know we have hit the terrible twos early!. Kaitlyn has changed into Miss Cheeky over the weekend...she has discovered her scream and she is not afraid to use it ...she has discovered tantrums and she is not afraid to throw them ..and she has discovered she wants what she wants NOW and dont you dare try to fight her! Oh my goodness do I have a stubborn spirited child! She is going to be a CEO or leader some day I am sure.
OK ..off to my meeting ..then home to see my "destructorrrrrrrr" heheheh
PS: Soph OH MY GOODNESS imagine you had been pregnant!!!!!!!!!! hehehe
Brooke - wow not long to go now. I vote SOPHIE for a girl lol. Charli sounds sooooooo cute!
Louise - Don't worry Lucie only gets a bucket or a bit of water in the old baby bath in the courtyard too!
Jo - So cute Sammy in the sprinkler. Oh I wish for a lawn!
Trace - Yummo your DH sounds like a fab cook! Keep us posted on the work situation.
Ahhh tantrums...know all about those! And as for TTC, atm I don't even want another one. It is SUCH hard work with 2 babies. Each day I count down how many hours 'til DH gets home. It seems to be getting harder as Ned gets older. The afternoons are the worst - Ned gets tired and Lucie is clingy and I just tear my hair out. Ok moan over - sorry.
Louise I hear you with the bucket and water ....I do fill up her little pool sometimes but with these water restrictions arghhh .
Brooke I am sooo looking forward to catching up with you ladies!. Make sure you also let us know what we should bring or if we should just all bring a plate of something. Charli sounds just darling....love the getting herself in trouble...I think I iwll have to teach Kaitlyn that one hehe. THankfully Kaitlyn has not discovered poo poo obsession yet ..but she does love to do a wee as the bath is running and watch it go on the floor hehehe cheeky monkeys.
Last night after dinner and walking the dog we went for a swim as it was still so warm ..it was such a nice change from the norm!. Then Kaitlyn crashed after her bottle and bedtime story ..only to wake at 130am screaming the house down. Seems she does this every second night...strange ..I think she is going through some kind of growth spurt ..not sure.
Those evening swims are gorgeous arent they Cass. Bet Kaitlyn loved it. Hows your dog going now...has he settled down a bit? Shes certainly keeping you guessing with her late night screaming..poor little mite.
Soph I can imagine two littlies so close in age would be difficult. You are such a legend though. I reckon it will start getting easier as they get older. My brother and I are 14 months apart and as toddlers we were the best little playmates. Good for you though getting out twice a day..thats inspiring!!!
Decisions decisions Brooke. Maybe you can decide when you see bubs and then see what he/she looks like. I do like your spelling of Jayne ...hehe. Sounds like you are all organized eh..so exciting!!! Charli sounds so cute too...dont you love it as their little personalities continue to grow!
Im up early and organized today. Jess has left on the school bus with her friend to high school. This is the first time I havent been there with her for her first day...its a bit hard to pull back but you just have to i guess. Sammy is fairly grouchy ....getting up at 7 as opposed to his 9 over the holidays isnt agreeing with him.
Sorry ladies for the sprinkler on lawn comment. I had no idea that not everyone had this and now I feel kinda mean:frown: Im sure our precious bubs enjoy any contact with water!!!
oh Jo dont feel bad at all about the sprinkler on the lawn comment! We are just living vicariously(SP?) through your little sammy. I remember as a child running under the sprinklers though and loved it. I hope Jess has had a good day at school , did she have lots of her friends going to the same school with her?.
Just posted in another section ..they put Kaitlyn to bed in an actual bed at daycare today ..not sure how I feel about it yet?????
Hope your all doing gorgeously & all the school kids have all settled in... maddy's first day in Grade 3 today... WAAAAH...
There was a car accident out front last night & I remained calm & talked to ES via DH's mobile as the Ambo's were on their way!!
It was really scary for a while there it felt like hours but in reality was probably a few mins....
Ok supposed to be working & will keep you updated on the work offers!!!!
Thanks Cass.....mmmm ive just read your dilemma with the daycare. Its a toughie isnt it. I know exactly what you mean about not wanting to raise too much fuss in terms of their care with Kaitlyn...though id be upset too if someone went ahead and against my wishes. Im sorry I cant offer much help in that regard.
Wow Trace hope everyone in the car accident are ok. Yay for Year 3 hey. Livvy is in Year 3 too and they have now progressed to pencil cases instead of tins on the desk. Think she will be very happy bout that milestone!
Not much from me ladies, no time, but Dh goes back to work tomorrow so I'll be right then, no more complaining from him when I do!!
Amy went well at high school she loves it ( so far)
Not much happening on the milk front, still having 40 mins each side & then 125ml formula ahhh I just don't know why!! Maybe she is just a really slow sucker on the boob???
Zaccie is great, loves his little sis to pieces, although he has gone back to having bottles again he hasn't bothered with a bottle for months. I'm not r e a l l y bothered, but it does worry me a bit.
Oh great Dh is back gotta go, oh I am getting my belly re done this arvo, ouchie's again, but I really really want it back!!
Catch up properly tomorrow, when I finally get to do the things I used to do!! WOO HOO!!! ( but I will miss dh)he he he he (sorta )
Jo, Yeah maddy's school starts pen license in grade 3, so no more grey lead pencils!!
She will no dobut be in a grade 3/4 composite which works beautifully for her as she is ahead of all of her calss & gets really bored so now they can give her grade 4 stuff, last 3 months of school last year she did some grade 3 stuff & was told to choose from the older grades readers as she had finished or surpassed the reading skills the garde 1/2 books were offering her... so I dont wnat her to be bored hse needs to be challenged to be interested!
cass I think I'd be a tad annoyed too, coz as the mum these are the first thet we should be sharing with our babies & kids, not some Childcare worker... I'd be hurt, I guess!
Storm hope your boozies start pumping liquid gold out soon... Mine are currently weighing me down, not feeding anymnore but I reckon 7.5kgs each breast is starting to take it's toll!
Hehe Storm...im sure you sorta will miss Dh lol. Keep up the brilliant work with feeding little Angel. Are you able to express inbetween feeds at all to help with your supply? Its funny how toddlers often regress when a new bubs is born isnt it. WOW at getting your tum done again..you go girl!!!!!!
Trace wow at the pen license!!!! Emmy has just gotten hers today...they only get it in year 6!!! Isnt it great having brilliant children!!! Livvy has been reading since before she went to kindy but i think its now that kids will start to catch up....will be good for her i think...shes been used to being the 'one'!
Well Sammy has done suprisingly well given he has lost his little playmates. We are both looking forward to his gym class on Friday. Ive reenrolled at uni girls....social work it is. Looking forward to that but its brilliant cos Darren and I still have almost a month together with him just working nights before it gets busy again!!! We are working out our hours around each others so hopefully wont need to use anyone else to look after him...hopefully it will all work out.
I think after I go to nights & had a year of doing that, then I will look at doing a course in something I want to do in the future!!! Not sure what yet & Ideally I'd love it to be something I could also use in Bali when we return there to live!!! Have to keep thinking... I know if it's meant to be it will all fall into place!!!
The crash last night was horrible, I am glad the girl started breathing & moving her hands & stuff when Ambo's arrived as there was alot of blood & then I was wracked with guilt over the Emergency Services lady saying the words CPR & me thinking to myself I am not doing that & risking my baby, my life & leavbing my kids with no Mum due to the amount of blood coming from her mouth & then later in bed I was sickening myself thinking if that was one of my kids would someone stand by & let them die!! Thankfully I wasnt the only person there so I just passed on the messages from the ES lady!!! Freaky stuff though....
