Ok so thought i would introduce myself

I had my baby boy on the 18th Dec too he was 3wks early, i wasnt technically due till yesturday (as tegam and GTF would know, i was in their belly buddies group)
Umm i dunno what else to write except im having some major breastfeeding problems he latches on and all he will eat and then sometimes not even within an hour he is wanting to be fed more ARGH its driving me crazy all im doing is cnstantly feeding him and his older brother is getting quite frustrated that all im doin is feeding. Im considering going to formula soon even though i desperately wanted to BF!

I cant believe it was 3wks ago already that i had my baby boy its just going too fast!

MrsBexie- going soft in the boobs is normal doesnt mean your milk has dropped or anything and leaking i know that feeling i get out of the shower and leak everywhere, when its let-down time i leak everywhere too...Oh and may i say when it comes time that your able/wanting to DTD make sure u have towels ready cause for some reason that makes you leak everywhere too lol so i found out!

You know what made me really excited then? That you only had bubs 3 weeks ago and you have DTD!!!! :rofl: :rofl: its been a week since I gave birth and I am struggling!! Lol.
Boo to the BF issues!! Could it he he just likes to suck or is he actually hungry still? Do you think you have enough milk for him? Maybe express more so you can feed from the boob then do an EBM feed the next time he screams? It's so hard knowing what they want and need!!

oh hun dont go to ff you know yourself how much you wanted to bf. he is feeding all the time cause he was so little, its totally normal and you are doing a great job! once he puts on a little more weight and gets older you will be able to manage it all so much better, you can do it!

I'm finally feeling well enough to sit at the computer so I thought I'd sneak in and say Hi :hello:! I hope you don't mind me crashing your thread since my lil (or not so lil) monster was a bit late :lol:

Xanthe is a a lil angel thank goodness as I'm still pretty wiped out from all the blood I lost she sleeps really well but we're having some problems getting her latched on so that she is breast feeding rather than nipple feeding but we'll get there in the end. Ouch!!! All your stitches sounds so sore, some how we managed to get the lil monster out without any tears or grazing! It was actually an amazing labour and birth exactly what i wished for it is so tragic that the 3rd stage went so horribly wrong! I've almost finished my birth story so I will post a link when I've finished it. Did anyone else have any issues with their placenta not coming away or PPH?

Hi girls: we are at the hospital seeing a paed, Siennas wee test came back not good so now they're going to put a needle into her tummy into her bladder, I feels so sick, pls pray for her , my poor baby :(

The test came back clear on a test strip but is being sent off for checking. My poor baby girl, it was so traumatic, I feel so bad that she had to go through that. She has now been put on Zantac for the silent reflux. The doc also wasn't too happy with her weight gain, she said she should be putting on about 200grams a week and she's not.
My poor little princess :(

babyluv, my health nurse just said that as long as they are gaining 100-150gs a week is perfect!!!
My baby just gained 250g in 2 weeks and she said thats great, dont stress hun!

Tegam- thankyou for your kind words i am trying to perservere with bf as hard as it is right now, i had a appointment just before with the health nurse and he has gained weight he is almost 2.6kg's woohoo go my little bubba he is now 5lb 12oz :) im so pleased to know he is gaining weight from my milk

MrsBexie- Hun with my first bub i was too scared to DTD but ended up being brave after 3wks! I think its quite normal after your first bub to be scared to dtd again
This time around i was dying to get into DTD and i actually did it a week after having bubs lol yes i was game enough to do it, but also i havent bled a great deal! (lucky there i guess)

So my health nurse said to give Kaidyn some infacol to see if he is crying cause of wind if he still cries after a couple days then she said to see a dr for reflux but to eliminate the wind problem first!

Tegam: I like ur pay now pay later theory. It certainly makes sense. I did give in last night to the dummy, only because I've heard that sometimes the dummy helps with wind/ reflux in babies. She didn't like it that much initially then started to get used to it and it did pacify her quite well. However, I haven't used it since and we've been coping well without it so might be only an occasional thing. Which I'm fine with. Nearly got into a fight with mum this morning coz she wanted to give her the dummy again but I said she hasn't had to use it since last night so I wanted to try her without.

MRs Bexie: I'm getting the itchy hoohaa feeling but no burning sensation. DTD is far from my mind now, just wanting to get enough sleep at night. Besides it's too hard to enjoy with so many people in the house esp with the parents... they always just come into our room to check on Claire. They knock before they enter but they enter before we say come in. You've certainly done very well coping with so many things in the last few weeks. Haven't got around to the centrelink stuff, which reminds me to post the birth registration forms.. gosh am I unorganized!

Babyluv: We do burp her after feeds but she doesn't always bring up gas each time even though we've been at it for 20 mins. She does the spluttering thing at times when she brings something up. Tried the leg cycling this morning and she seemed to like it so it must be giving her some relief. I've got you little girl in my prayers. BIG HUGS for you, it's so difficult to see them unwell, just breaks my heart. Stay strong and FX everything's going to be fine for her. Hopefully the zantac gives her some relief.

Shellybean: Glad ur little princess is being a gem, she must understand that mum had a rough time having her so she's being extra good now to make up for it. Will be waiting to read about ur birth story. :)

Mitzqtie: Welcome!! I can understand how hard it may be to persevere with BF when times are tough. I had some issues with milk supply and latching on last week and nearly gave up but I'm so glad I trotted on coz I'm really enjoying being able to bond with Claire during those times now. I also love the special feeling that I'm giving her something no one else can give her. So hopefully you'll find enough strength to get through the frequent feeding.

We took Claire to see the GP today and he reckons she might have reflux but was still happy that she's gaining weight so has just recommended we give her small frequent feeds and keep her upright for 20-30mins after a feed. She might also be having wind on top of that at times. She's been better today already just trying to feed her more upright and smaller feeds, at least she's not howling immediately after a feed and is settling better but we'll see what the night brings. Trying to get an appt with the Paed that saw her in hospital but his earliest appt is mid Feb. Hopefully she will go well till then.

Babyluv: It's good the tests came back clear!!!! Hopefully the Zantac will settle the reflux and she will eat more so will gain more weight. You have had a VERY rough time lately and you are holding up BEAUTIFULLY! They will find out what is wrong with Sienna and she will be fine sweets.. just keep praying and believing that, I am! :pray: :comfort: :hug:

Caixin: Early feb?! That's crazy!! What if something is really wrong? I keep forgetting to book Charlotte's dr's app!! She needs her check up.. You should try the Brauer stuff too!!!

Toowoomba is CRAZY flooded!!! Thank god we are in a higher area so our house is fine, no flooding or anything, but we had to do a HUGE diversion to get to my chiro today and saw cras being swept down the flash flooding! It is so scary... people are feared dead, hundreds of cars and houses are damaged and demolished, it's crazy. I was so scared we turned around and went back home after the first attempt to get to my chiro and went and got our 4wd instead...
But I am sooo glad we went to the chiro! My hip is still retarded but I can walk with only a small limp now, going back on wednesday to fix it again... hopefully it is not permenant!! Everything else is well here, Charlotte is gorgeous and I love her more everyday! She is just perfect! And my milk is still crazy! Hopefully it settles down soon, I want to express the excess cause I drip even after a feed but I don't want it to stimulate me too much and make even more milk!!!

Bexie: so glad you are ok in amongst all that flooding. Are you able to get to supermarkets etc?? Yay to chiro fixing your hip!! Chiros are the best. I hear you on the dripping boobs. It does settle down, although I found with DS that I would leak at night for ages, but the day leaking eased up for me after a couple of months :D You have had so much going on, GOOD ON YOU! You're doing a great job! I used the whole brauer range on DS and it works really well. I love brauer - and it's really tasty too. YUM!

Babyluv: :hug: you really are having a rough time. Hope Sienna starts to feel better soon, and her reflux gets sorted.

Tegam: I am with you on the pay now pay later thing it is exactly like that!!! I like to call it short term pain long term gain. There is so much stuff that it applies to with babies and kids.

Caixin: Oh you have reminded me, I just put the birth registration stuff into an envelope to send - I am disorganised too...haven't done the centrelink stuff yet, DP has to do the online stuff because I have no idea about the earnings side of it all :D Such a housewife. Dp has his own business and it's all trusts and unit trusts and company structure stuff that I can't be bothered paying attention to, so I will have to get him to do that bit! How did Claire go last night, sounds like you are onto the problems straight away :) Good on you!

Mitzqtie: Welcome!!! Breastfeeding is so hard, especially when you have another child who wants your attention, I feel like I am sitting in the chair feeding all day too. And feel sorry for DS, I am worried how I will go when DP goes back to work full time and mum goes home!

Shelly: Yay for being able to sit at the computer. Your monster is as big as DS was when he was born!! Good one for having no stitches!

AFM: Have been MIA because am having lots of trouble with the split nipple, so much pain and crying etc etc. Had my appt with the MCHN yesterday and she made me feel a lot better and backed up my view that I need to just keep feeding through the pain, which was what I thought was best, it is starting to get a little bit more bearable, still really really hurts, but not as bad as it was. I jumped on the scales yesterday just out of interest and I'm back to pre-pregnancy weight....oop I can hear Ivy, more feeding. Hope everyone is well!

Kirsten can I just say how freaking jealous I am that you are back to pre-pg weight!!!!! That is not fair! lol... I haven't done the online stuff either! Centerlink is retardedly confusing so I am dreading it, and I do the finances so I have to do it!
Your poor nipples!!! It would be soooooo painful! But yes, persevere and they will heal!

We are going to the supermarket soon to stock up on basic things like pasta, rice and meat cause I don't think we'll be getting any new supplies through for a while!
8 people are dead and 72 missing in Toowoomba and I am so scared that I will know someone in those numbers. Our town has been destroyed and more massive storms are coming today, about 80-100mls of rain. I am so worried for our town... this is just devestating!! Everything in the main street has been destroyed, whole shops gutted, furniture all over Toowoomba from houses and shops... There were 3-4 storm water paths that the water came down so it's like Toowoomba has been torn in 4 by the water. We are going to stay home today, my photoshoot for Charlotte has been postponed because her studio is down in the middle of town and if more floods come her studio could be hit with us in it. Not worth the risk!!! I'm kinda sad because she won't be all squishy and newborn when the shoot happens but NO WAY am I willing to risk our safety!!!

Please pray for my town, for the people... it's like a war zone...

I just weighed myself and have lost 6.5kgs... wow only 10-11 to go! :(

Well everyone I have made it here, FINALLY....... Woohoo.

Still headachey, so hoping I wont be suffering from headaches for much longer it is so draining. Will be looking at having a nice conversation with my female GP either tomorrow or Thursday, so will see what she thinks about all the probs.

Well as some of you have mentioned, I too am having trouble BFing. Mostly due to little Chloe being so used to bottle feeds from hospital and not getting much mummy booby time in there that she fights the (.)(.). Then yesterday I go and see my local GP as my female GP is 30-40mins drive away, and he wants me on some antibiotics that if taken I cant give C my milk so wil have to just formula feed her. So atm I havent bought them. I really was hoping to walk out of there with a prescipt for something to increase my milk supply. But Nope. He also wants me to have a pelvic u/s to see how everything is in there after the bloodclot, and due to when he presses down on my stomach it hurts on the right side. Yet the u/s wont be until Friday afternoon, so a few days away (could be 6feet under by then if there is something wrong. lol)
So I will see what my favourite female GP suggests before I do or take either of them.

Also as for dummies, none of my little ones took a dummy. They would all either pretend to choke on it or spit it out. So never gave it. However as for Little Miss Chloe, she was more or less forced it when in NICU, so takes it now at home, yet I am weening it off her, prefer her not to have it. Yet she really doesnt take it all the time, so thats a good thing. Wont be too difficult to take it away. She didnt have it at all yesterday. Except for this morning when she whinged for it, to sleep.

However I am trying to figure out how I am going to go with her come the 21st when I have to have her tired and hungry for 2hours before getting her to the childrens hospital to have her hearing rechecked. So thinking I may need to make use of the dummy for that day. When my little Chloe wants to be fed she wants it now and cries and cries until it is in her mouth, even if it is for only 10mls that she wants. I worry about her throat too, so really hoping it wont be as bad as I am thinking come the day.

Well Happy 3weeks today little Chloe....... hugs and kisses bubby girl.

Hi all, I just wanted to pop in and say hi. I don't know how you all find the time to keep up in here, I've found it really hard to adjust to sleep deprivation and breastfeeding and the last thing I normally feel like doing is sitting on the computer once Kai is asleep. But I miss you girls! I've had a quick read back and like a few of you I've had problems with breastfeeding too. When my milk came in I was so engorged that I couldn't get him on the breast and had to express before feeding in hospital, then I got cracked sore nipples which are just starting to heal now, then I had blocked ducts on one side and my GP put me on antibiotics to try and stop it developing into mastitis (I've also had a throat infection so the antibiotics have two jobs to do), so all in all I've struggled a bit. However, Kai is so adorable and we are so in love with him already that it's all worthwhile, even when he has the odd night from hell like last night when he cries ALL night and doesn't sleep at all for 8 hours straight. It means he wants to sleep all day today, so I have to wake him to feed him so my boobs don't develop any further problems.

I knew having a baby wouldn't be easy, I just didn't know it would be this hard! I am looking on the positive side though, we have a healthy adorable baby, and that gets me through the pain when he latches on the left side.

I'm loving all your cute photos on facebook and hopefully I'll find more time to get back in here to chat over the coming weeks. Big hugs to you Bexie, glad your house and family are ok in Toowoomba, what a ridiculously stressful week you've had, it puts my little issues in perspective.

Sunny*girl: You're issues are not little issues! Don't ever feel bad for feeling the way you do and struggling with what you are struggling with because they are very real and important to you regardless of what is happening to others!!!! It is stressful but I have an amazing baby and no issues with her so I am very lucky that I don't have the cracked nipples, sleeping issues, bf issues etc that you all do!! I wouldn't be able to handle it whereas you are handling it beautifully!! Just keep persevering and you guys will come through it!! :heartbeat:

Just went down to Woolies to get some food and it is crazy in there!! We had to line up for an hour to get through the registers and all milk (fresh and longlife) all bread, all veggies and most fruit are completely gone... nothing left! We managed to get 2 loaves of bread and a few tomatos but that's it for that stuff, stocked up on pasta, rice and meat though so at least we will have food... and I luckily have long life milk for me in the cupboard so should have enough milk for the week. Mum has to fly out of Brisbane on sunday so we have booked a hotel sat night and hopefully can get down the range to get her to the airport!!! We may be stuck here... Who knows? I am sooo glad Charlotte is a good baby and we aren't having any issues with her because I couldn't handle that too!!

ARGH i wrote a big long reply to everyone this morning and then lost it!!! So this one wont be as detailed, sorry!

Bex - Glad to hear your in a high area, was thinking of you this morning while watching the news, how crazy has your year been so far!!!! My thoughts are with you and your community, and having been thru over a dozen cyclones myself i know what you mean about the shops being chaotic! Make sure you have plenty of fuel in the car and tins of food, glad Charlotte is being a gem and not adding to your stresses! Hows Vixen handling all the storms and having a new addition in the house?

Babyluv - Wow hun you are doing an amazing job with all you've been thru. Hopefully little Sienna is ok and all the checks are just precautionary. Remember each baby is different, and 200g a week is a fair bit especially if her little body is busy fighting something, so try not to stress about weight gain. I know it's hard but stressing will affect both you and Sienna, big hugs to you :hug:

Caixin - Good on you for persevering with BF, i sneakily took your tip of expressing after feeds to increase supply and am much happier with my milk supply now, thanks! I keep a dummy in the nappy bag mainly for the car if she wants feeding and we cant stop anywhere for awhile, but Georgia just doesnt seem to care for it at all, she prefers to stick her fist in her mouth instead!

Sunnygirl - I think we've all had at least one of those nights, it does feel better to know we're all having the same troubles tho hey. Hope things settle into routine for you soon, and that throat heals quickly for you.

Shelly - Good work on not even a graze birthing your big little monster! So glad shes being good for you after all you've been thru, and yay for getting the birth you wanted! Looking forward to reading your birth story, did your PPH have anything to do with your iron levels during pregnancy?

Hi to everyone else, hope all is going well, sorry i cant do persies for everyone all over again!

As for us, were just starting to get into a 3hr sleep routine during the night which is such a relief, and my milk supply is slowely building up but i still need to express more than i seem to have time to. Poor little G has lost her voice, it worries me that i can hardly hear her cry but she doesnt seem to bothered by it most of the time, she's still very alert when she's awake and doesnt have a temp or anything. I was very unimpressed at only being 2kg lighter after birthing a 4kg baby but have lost just over 6kg now, 15 to go! Havnt got back into an excersize routine yet tho, tried the weight bench yesterday but was hurting after 20 reps so will give it a bit longer to heal i think. Tummy is back to about 16week pg size tho, although its very squishy! Stretch marks arent too bad and i can do up my shorts again, woohoo!!! I just posted my birth story too for those who have time for a read...

Little mrs: I read your BA! It's awesome!! :) I am only 6.5kgs lighter a week on and 3kgs was baby, and bout 1kg placenta n fluid! :( so really only 2.5kg loss. Good on you getting on the weights!! I cant wait!!! Buy after last weeks travels n everything I am just trying not to do to much n relax a bit. I'm taking too long to heal!
How are your stitches going? Healing nicely? Ouch to an episiotomy! And forceps!!! That's scary! It's good Georgia doesn't take the dummy I guess, Charlotte won't either!
With flood situation, we have a full tank in my car cause we filled up pretty much the day before the flood, but only have half a tank of diesel in the 4wd... Apparently the fuel stations are pretty much empty all over town!
You'll have to post more photos of georgia on fb for us!!!

I'm up feeding ATM, is anyone else's bub like a hot water bottle?? Charlotte was next to DH as usual but we usually sleeps in a short sleeved suit n swaddled in a muslin wrap and tonight she was in a Long sleeved suit with a Muslin wrap and there is a big wet patch around her head area! Not from vomit cause she was really hot n sweaty..she cooled down once I took the wrap off, just wondering if anyone else has a hot baby?
More chiro today too thank god!! I am still limping from this left hip/lower back issue. Sooo painful to walk!! She is amazing tho and I know it'll feel so good after being cracked!

Unfortunately i am soooo sooo tired Little Miss Chloe decided last night was a lovely night to stay up from 2am to 5.30am, and has woken up again crying. So Im off.

Bexie: Resting is the best idea for you. You really need to give your body lots of time to recover, and it can't be easy for you with the big drive you've done and the stress of the awful floods. Ivy is a hot baby, DS was a hot baby too, they can't regulate their temperatures at this age so you have to pretty vigilant with the clothes wraps etc. if you put her skin to skin on your chest your body will regulate her temperature though :) I'm jealous of your ability to breastfeed with no excruciating pain. We;re going to do the stupid centrelink stuff this afternoon..rah! I hate that boring crap!

Csab: I read your birth story - what an ordeal you've been through, you're so strong! It must be so nice for you to finally have Chloe home with you after all that time apart in hospital :hug: bet you're looking forward to seeing the GP you like hopefully she can sort out some of the issues with antibiotics & us etc...

Little MRs: You will just have to talk to me, because I will talk and talk and talk to you until you do :rofl: I have a 4 year old I know all the tricks. I read your birth story too - so lovely. I can't believe you had to have a 19 hour labour after the 2 days of pre-labour you already had, no wonder you were so exhausted. Good on you! And yay for the 3 hour feeds at night. I would suggest you rest and not get into any exercise routines yet, too early!!

SunnyGirl: bummer to all the BF problems, and yes having a baby is really really really hard. But so worth it all, they are just the most wonderful little creatures :) The throat infection doesn't sound like it needs to be around - bugger off throat infection! Hope your sore boobs don't develop into mastitis, lots of massage and hot and cold packs cleared my blocked duct.

A little girl called Ava and she was 10lb 7oz!!!!!!! Ended in a c-sect and she has stolen the monster award from shelly! Go renee!!!!!!

Mrs Bexie: I'm not quite sure why we have to wait so long for the earliest appt. I've just booked her back with the paed that saw her in hosp. Apparently he's really good so maybe that explains the wait. The videos of the floods are horrendous! So glad you're keeping safe by staying at home. I'm glad we've all given birth, can't imagine being in labour with the floods in full force. Do you just get the brauer stuff from the chemist?

Kirsten: We were sorting out the forms yesterday and I realized that DH had used white out on the forms! Now we have to get new forms, I think I have to get them from the hospital coz the online ones are kinda different. Bugger! Can't believe u're back to ur pre-preg weight already?!!? I guess you didn't have the 20kg to lose like me.

csab: I'm hoping for you that the pain is nothing and you can continue to BF Chloe. Claire didn't like the dummy the first time either but my mum sort of forced it into her mouth and she took it eventually. But today she's refused it again when she tried so maybe she doesn't like it that much. It might be really useful for you on that car trip.

Sunnygirl: I probably manage to find time to come in here coz I've still got my gang here cooking and washing for me. When they leave I'm not that sure anymore. :P Bugger off throat infection, you've got enough to deal with feeding and changing a baby. I didn't expect it to be that hard looking after a baby either, looking back at me whinging when I was pregnant, that seemed like nothing compared to now.

Little mrs: Glad that expressing helped your supply. It can be very tough to keep up when u're feeding very frequently but certainly worth it. Claire puts her fist into her mouth sometimes when she wakes up wanting a feed. I'm hoping she doesn't get onto sucking thumbs coz that is going to be worse than being on the dummy.

Claire had an ok night last night. At least there wasn't too much crying but she seems to like being awake for at least an hour after a feed. Had an appt with the MCHN today and she's put on nearly 500g in one week! What a piggy she is! Gotta go, she wailing for mum n the gang is out having Japanese tonight.

Caixin: yup, brauer is from chemist...
Yay to Claire gaining so much weight! You know she is getting enough milk now! Is your supply getting much better? Yumm for Japanese!! I want some!!

Charlotte has her photo shoot today! I was meant to have it on Tuesday but because of the flood issues we had to postpone. I hope she still gets some good squishy shots of Charlotte!
Tmi question: has anyone stopped bleeding? I have had barely any bleeding except for after my chiro app on Monday cause she massaged a hard bit on my right lower abdomen... Apart from that my pads are pretty much not used! I don't want to go down to a normal pad just in case but is it normal to stop bleeding only a week after bubs??
My stitches are healing slowly. Not stinging as bad but now I am just aching. Like that ache you get sometimes when you get your period but more intense. When does it go away?! Lol...
And I am struggling with clothes!! I have 1 pair of pants I can wear... That's it. None of my pre pg pants fit and none of my maternity pants fit!!! It's frustrating cause I don't want to buy a new pair yet and then lose the baby weight n not fit them! We just don't have the money for me to be buying pants that I'll only wear for 2-3 weeks before I have to buy new ones again but really, 1 pair right now?? It sucks.

How is everyone going? Any more sleep? Cracked nipples are healing I hope!!

I stopped bleeding about the 2nd week after Sienna was born, just needed liners for a little bit.
I'm in the same situation as you with clothes, it's so frustrating. I'm living in one pair of stretchy 3/4 pants, I don't feel attractive at all. I've got weight to lose everywhere. My belly has gone down, you wouldn't know I just had a baby but my legs, hips, arms are all fat :( and Sienna doesn't sleep so I have no energy to work out!
Good to hear your stitches are healing well, the aching will ease soon, it's your uterus shrinking when you BF.

Caixin: woohoo for Claire putting on so much weight, that's fantastic. Sienna only averages 180grams a week, she also likes to stay awake after feeds but then she seems to never sleep properly poor chicken.

AFM: we are going to a sleep centre on Monday, it's a whole day thing and I just hope they're not into controlled crying because i don't like that. But I really need help with Sienna she can't settle without me, will only sleep on me or right next to me. The minute I put her in the bassinet she screams.
She's on my chest asleep as I type.
The Zantac has helped alot, she is not screaming as much anymore thank God.
I get no sleep at night though because she is so Unsettled. I just had a nap with her.
Is anyone else co sleeping? How do you find it? I'd prefer not to but have no choice at the moment.

We are co sleeping... Charlotte goes in her bassinet from 12am-4 or 5am then sleeps with us for the rest of the night... At this young stage it's not that bad because they are soo little they don't really get that dependence on us. Sienna may be wanting to sleep on you or with you because she genuinely needs the closeness. Especially if she is in pain! It is when they get a little older that they may not sleep without you if you keep co sleeping.
If it give you guys some rest I would do it! Plus every baby is different and different things work. You need to do what works for you guys without feeling bad or guilty.
I really hope she settles down soon!! I cannot imagine how hard it would be!
And with the exercise/weight thing, I can't even walk with this stupid hip let alone exercise!!! I hope it heals soon so I can at least go for a walk around the block!! I'm still at 70kgs so 10 to go!!!

I have co slepted with all of mine. It feels right for our family. I have never found that it is hard to then transfer them to sleeping in their own bed. DO what you have too to survive, pay now - pay later.

How do you ladies co-sleep? I find her really unsettled next to me, she stirs all night & I have to pat her on the back every cpl mins. If she is lying on me I lie propped up a bit on pillows on my back.
What have you found best? The last cpl nights even when wrapped she gets herself out and wakes herself up or even wakes herself when wrapped, I find it hard to get her to sleep well & any tips would really help!

Babyluv: I've got the same trouble of Georgia not settling unless she's on me (she likes to use my boobs as pillows when she's not chewing on them lol) I found it works for us having her on a pillow next to me so she's raised level with us and laying on my side feeding her til she dozes off. Then I let her sleep like that for a while to make sure she's in a deep sleep, if I get impatient and move her to soon she'll wake up when i put her in the bassinet but if I wait she sleeps in there for a few hrs and then we do it all again! When she's really unsettled I just leave her on the pillow with her head on me so she can't roll anywhere and I can't roll on her. Georgia will only sleep on her side no matter where she is (which I'm happy with coz it means when she vomits I don't have to worry bout her choking on it), maybe sienna doesn't like sleeping on her back either? There is a way that'll work for you, it's just a matter of finding it!

Know what u girls mean about the lack of pants too! And when G has her long Argo sleep I feel like I need to run around and clean stuff while I can coz she just feeds and wants attention all morning! Wish it was the other way round so I could get some washing done before the arvo storms come in!

Caixin: yay to Claire's weight gain! That's fantastic you must be stoked with your milk supply now!

Kirsten: ok ok I'll talk to you :p lol but it's still not fair! Where did you put all those drumsticks you ate when pg!!! How is Quinn with his new little sister?

Yay for Renee! Wow that's a well earnt biggest bub title!

Hope everyones well and bubs are behaving and feeding and sleeping and just generally being cute all over the place! Loving all the pics on Facebook too!

Hey little_mrs: Sienna doesn't like sleeping on her back, likes sleeping on her tummy, I think that's why she likes sleeping on me but I'm too scared to let her sleep in her bassinet on her tummy because of SIDS. How do you sleep Georgia on her side? Do you use anything to keep her in this position? Sienna can be floppy asleep when I move her and she will still wake once in her bassinet, I'll try waiting longer. I have the angel care breathing monitor but I'm scared to let her Tummy sleep.

I get DH to sleep with her because if she smells my milk she will be unsettled... He sleeps on his side with her up against his chest on her back. I think hearing his heartbeat and feeling his warmth calms her. She sleeps so well with us!

Just wanting to know how everyone is coping? I feel so stressed, feeling like everything I try to do backfires. Like trying to BF Chloe, that hasnt worked due to her stint in NICU and me not being well. Then trying to get to the Dr's. The Dr I really want to see I found out today is away until the end of the month, yet I really needed to see someone so went to a different Dr's surgery where there are some female Dr's yet, I didnt get to see the one I know from there either and ended up with someone else, that still didnt check me over, just said Ohh yes sounds like infection take this medication, thankfully safe in pgcy. Yet I still dont want to take it. I guess at least i got something to help build up my milk supply as that too is dwindling in supply.
Then trying to get Chloe added to medicare ended up in a bit of a drama, and just felt like bursting into tears there. At least that is fixed up now. trying to get help at home is proving to be difficult too, especially with the older kids. I keep getting told by the midwives that if I dont start resting i am going to end up back in hospital, yet that doesnt seem to make a difference at home, until it actually happens and then it will turn out to be an inconvenience to everyone else.
Ahhh and the sleeping, what sleep. Poor little Chloe is still trying to get herself into a routine, and most of the time stays up for hours. especially at night. She wasnt too bad until she hit about 3wks. Hopefully it is just a growth spurt.
Gosh I sound like a whiner, yet I feel like I am drained from the headaches, Im so emotional its ridiculous, I actually cried after speaking to the Dr's surgery only to find out the my GP was on holidays. Whats with that? The MW today had me fill in the questionaire today about how I was feeling and I got I think 15 she said, yet she said it is no wonder you got that, then also mentioned about having karitane come out, whcih they are on Tuesday. Yet also said that it would be a good idea for the 5days stay at Karitane, which I definately cant do that, not with all I have to do at home, its just not logical for me. The MW asked if i had any family or friends that can come around to help out, which my mum has only just gone home after helping out a few days. I really wanted to be alone though tbh, I even told her that I dont really want to see anyone, especially with friends that couldnt even be bothered to pick up the phone to see how Chloe is going? Gee i hope I start getting past this soon, I hate feeling this way.

tegam - I hear you on how funny it is that the more kids you have the less important it is to everyone else around you. its so not fair on the bubs is it? Yet as soon as you see them everyone wants to hold the baby. Well stuff them..... (sorry everyone, Im just not myself)


Yet I want to also say Im thinking of all of you that are up IN Qld, I hope you are all safe/ Those of you that are in NSW facing the floods too, keep safe everyone. Hugs

Ohhh and Chloe has her next pead appt tomorrow, I also need to have an U/S tomorrow too.


Is anyone else feeling this emotional?

omg she pee'd 3 times, once on Joe, once on me and once on the floor... then in another shot I was holding her bum and saying "please don't poo" and then Joe took over and she shat on him!! hahahaha... God I was laughing soo hard! We got some gorgeous shots tho! Going to spend WAY too much money tomorrow when we view the photos... But she is just too cute to not buy them!!

Babyluv: She sleeps pretty bad against me, kinda asleep but still searching for boobies so DH sleeps wonderfully with her! It gives him really good snuggle time with her and she loves her daddy time!

i sometimes co-sleep with kaidyn if he is really unsettled and wont settle anywhere... i lay his little head on my arm i tuck him in firmly and he lays on his back and we get the best sleep, he goes into a really deep sleep.

i find Kaidyn doesnt like his bassinette he prefers to sleep in his rocker beside our bed, he sleeps in it of a night but refuses through the day so to get him to sleep the rocker it is beside the bed!

Csab: we had such a rough time establishing BF, I've found it to be so hard! I'm on an emotional rollercoaster at the moment. We are having such a hard time with Sienna. She has been diagnosed with silent reflux & I have nights where she screams non stop for 7-8hrs and wants to feed constantly.
Last night she was so restless and i fed her almost non stop for 3hrs. I had 80ml of EBM in the freezer, my last stash and gave her this and she finally settled. I'm worried I don't have enough milk for her. Maybe I need to give her a bottle of formula at night.

MrsBexie: I can't wait to see the professional pics of Charlotte :) sounds like you had fun hehe!

AFM: we've had an awful day, Sienna has been so unsettled! Hopefully this means we will have a good night.

babyluv- i thought i didnt have enough milk either, so gave Kaidyn a bottle of formula in the middle of the night and he still only slept for 4hrs like he normally would sometimes off my breastmilk so may i just say i dont think you dont have enough milk, maybe time how long she actively sucks/eats for as she should get the amount you expressed and it should satisfy her if shes not eating for long periods of time maybe shes lazy to suck for too long which is why she wants to eat so frequently
I feed kaidyn constantly all day basically of a night he is reasonably good but hectic feeding all day so i really understand what your going through, also i get told that cause they are growing babies some require more to eat then others as hard as it is we have to keep going we are doing a good job!
Kaidyn likes to sleep on his side too, and you can buy these little like roll things from big w and stuff that are there to stop babies from rolling over!
Also, have u tried bathing Sienna, does that settle her down?? i know i bath Kaidyn right before his last feed at 8pm and it settles him right down and he goes 5hrs before another feed, this is the longest break i get! Just an idea

Csab- im so so sorry for everything you have been through, just remember you are strong and you will pull through this emotional time. However i do understand what you're going through as im more emotional then normal myself but within saying that i havent been through the trauma you have been through either...Please Stay Strong Hunny! :hug:

Bexie- I wouldn't stop wearing pads just yet, i start/stop start/stop whenever my body feels the need too, im almost 4wks post birth and i still get bloody mucous but im lucky i dont need a pad for it
The stinging sorta feeling if i can remember rightly from the stitches i had with my first DS really won't go away until yo're healed! Hope it heals real fast as its not quite fair is it
