Hey girls,

Quick update from me - sorry no time for personals today.

Still battling on here... my nipples are still absolutely killing me from the thrush and now I have cracked nipples too...I tried changing from football to cradle hold as he's getting so long that it's awkward and I had the nurse watch me attach him yesterday and she said I was doing it right but surely I'm doing something wrong if it hurts so much?! I figure I'll get rid of the thrush - if it'll EVER go... and then I'll try changing to cradle again. We drove two hours yesterday to do some shopping - nowhere close by has supplies, and it was basically empty where we ended up anyway...Jacob was a little difficult - I get so nervous going out with him cause he loves the car but once you take him out he starts getting cranky and there's nothing fun about trying to walk around a shop with a crying baby - I feel so embarrassed. We then went to the health nurse when we got back to town and Jacob has put on 390 grams in 7 days which was great, but we're still battling oral thrush which is just so depressing...we have changed his treatment, so hopefully we get results very soon!!! I cannot do ANY more than what I'm doing, I'm eating so bland, sterilising everything first with salt and then boiled water, using boiled water to wipe down my nipples, changing nursing pads every feed and putting gel on my nipples and gel in his mouth now!! We saw a friend of mine at the health centre and she had her little girl happily sleeping away in a capsule and DH said "oh is that a capsule for the car?" and she said "yeah it goes into my pram" and I immediately thought in my head - i bet it's a strider plus (the pram I originally REALLY wanted - and still regret not buying). Yep!! It sure was... she raved about how good it was etc and as we were leaving DH turns to me - holding a wriggling Jacob and says "I think we should buy one of those prams". haha. The thing stopping me in the first place was mum and dad bought our pram and I didn't think it was fair for them to fork out so much for a pram so I got one that's great for walking - we figure that the strider plus will be our nice 'going away' pram with the capsule perfect for our little one that doesn't like being moved around too much! so I've done my research and we're getting it when we go up north Tuesday/Wednesday. I'm so excited, fingers crossed it works the way we hope!!

Anyway, must be off...gotta get some sleep while I can!! Having said that, he'll hear me get into bed and wake up wanting a feed for sure

Take care all xoxo
