I'm totally hearing you Kate! *arggghhh* Maddy is FINALLY down for a nap (she was actually lying in her bed with her eyes open in this trance like state she was that tired) and I've been sitting pondering what I'm gonna do about the food thing. I know I'm probably overreacting but I have these fears that she's going to be just like my niece who won't eat meat or vegies really. She literally lives on cereal, cheese, yoghurt and vegemite or honey sandwiches.
I tried the exact same tuna with noodles (can) that you tried last night, only I tried it for lunch on her today. She had a taste, screwed up her face and clamped her mouth shut. Cheeky little bugger can smell what's coming so unless it smells different, she wont eat it. *rolls eyes*
I think you're right Jillian, am going to have to just keep persevering but will try to mix in different vegies/meats with the mashed potato. I'll try to reduce the amount of potato on the plate each time til she's basically eating the 'new' item rather than so much potato.
Has anyone tried giving their babies a small piece (and I mean SMALL, so that they could swallow without choking if they don't actually chew on it) of meat that has been cooked really well? ie. some beef slow cooker meat or something? I wonder whether if Maddy has some little tiny bits of meat on her plate just like Daddy & I; whether maybe she'll try it like a finger food?
Oh and Kate {{{{hugs}}}} on the AF visits...she must have misplaced my address and come to visit you instead of me one of those times. I'm still waiting for her to come back since Maddy and boy am I dreading the first one.
Beck what a bummer. Do you knkow that some babys just won't eat tinned food, and you may have one of those on your hands. Maybe just for meat and veg! I know coco won't have a bar of the savoury jars, only the breakky cereal ones and thats it. If you do a big cook of pumpkin, sweet pot and some greens and freeze it, it will last quite a long while. I know it's all such effort and time consuming though.
Also I am sure that coco's reason for not sleeping was that she wasn't full enough. have you thougth of topping maddy up with formula? As of tonight I am giving coco goats milk formula, and I swear she needs it to fill up. My breastmilk must just not be enough for her, even though i will continue to feed until she wants to stop.
I hope you get some rest tonight. Same to you to Kate!
I have to run, tilly is very demanding at this time. Im missing tim on his uni nights, that's for sure xoxo
