Hi all,
Oh good I haven't missed too much :)
Nic- Love your new signature and ticker pic- very cute :)
Lauren- Glad dinner went ok but the grandparents/qld thing seems like it's making life a bit difficult. Sorry I think I missed this bit but do Ash's other grandparents not know about him at all??
Bekz- Ouch ouch ouch poor little Loren. I was at a friend's place yesterday, her bub fell forward and her dummy went up under her top lip and split the gum right at the top of her mouth in front of her teeth. I nearly fainted, for someone who works in a hospital I am not good with blood, and there was sooooo much of it.
Dh is away here and I am soooo lonely :( Dropped him off at the airport yesterday and he's back on Saturday. It's ok during the day but Ty goes to bed at six, so after that I am all by myself...
Ty is still not standing up a lot. He'll push up on things- like the bottom step or my knees- but won't pull up on things yet ( maybe I should be counting my blessings, not complaining about it?)
-
Lori - No, noone on his side knows. Rob and i have been on and off the the past 9 years, but were not in a relationship when we had Ash. His parents are VERY traditional - must be married before you have kids so we never told them. And his sister announced she was pregnant 2 weeks before i found out i was, so we didnt want to spoil her moment, and then the lies just got carried away and he could never tell them and then his brothers wife found out she was pregnant and so now shes due in 8 weeks and we dont want to spoil there moment (both first bubs for them too) so once things settle down hopefully itll come out and who knows how they will take it.
-
Lauren- WOW :o That is full on for you. What a horrible situation. Much respect coming your way from me... that's is amazing. Hats off to you hun, what a fantastic job you are doing... and what a secret to have to keep.
-
That is a huge secret. I hope when the time comes to tell them it goes smoothly..
kids are born to drive their mums mental!! all morning while Olivia was playing (and mum did a photoshoot hehe) they were outside having a great time.. Then as soon as Olivia went to sleep and i got up to clean they came inside GRRR..
-
I just had to come share this... I bought this when I was pregnant with Ethan.. 3 boys and many years later i get to put it on a baby of mine

-
Oh Nic she is such a cutie :)
-
Thanks Lori :) I thiknk so lol...
Well my missy has just gone to bed (eek) I managed to get her veges in to her but she was just to tired so I popped her in bed.. I hope she wakes after an hour though
-
hehe... Kayla just woke up from a massive sleep. So she'll be up for a while now. It's not usually until about 10pm that she finally goes down and doesn't want to get up for plays. Still wakes frequently for feeds, but doesn't want to get up. If it weren't for that, I'd believe this girl is nocturnal the way she sleeps so well in the day.
-
Liz you lucky thing... although Ty is getting better with his day sleeps. We had an hour and a half this morning :) And he's in bed at six most nights... still wakes for feeds (or to scream) and has taken to waking at five am and wanting to party....
-
eeep touch wood we get no late night partys here! Ash has been wanting to play the last 2 nights instead of sleeping but usually gives in within 30mins.
Nic - Olivia looks soo sweet in the outfits! how nice to finally get her into them.
Liz - i soo couldnt do 10pm sleep every night! we have only just pushed out to 8 - 8.30pm lol Day sleeps are great tho, i would rather that most of the time.
We're officially signed up for next terms swimming lessons. so excited. Those who go already, has any bubs been sick cos of it?? call me paranoid but im soooo hoping he doesnt get too many bugs, i got gastro when my niece went!
Rob wants to catch up this weekend and go see a movie, omg i have never been that long away from Ash EVER! little own at night time...! im going to be a mess! :(
I better go enjoy the quiet whilst its here, have a good night everyone.
Sleepy vibes to all...
First night in cloth nappies here tonight... please dont leak everywhere!!
-
UGH.. I have had the *****tiest night..
Isaac and Ethan were terrible.. Jacob had the biggest melt down ever and I didn't deal with it very well so that just made it worse :( Olivia wole at 6 and had her "desssert" shower with daddy and just went back to bed now but she has been ok...
Thanks Lauren on the piccie comment.. It was so nice to see her in them.. Dresses are so impractical though... but I will try and take more of her wearing them hehe.. Love the girly nonsense..
debating about her hair at the moment.. dO I get it trimmed just to neaten it up a touch as it is getting in her eyes or do I just leave it.. I don't want any particular style yet I want to see what it will do naturally.. agh boys are so easy when it comes to this sort of thing
-
yeah... love the day sleeps I get from her. She does still nap during the evening, but it's after about 10pm that she only wakes to feed and not play. We haven't had any midnight or 4am wake ups to play, it's always just feed and sleep again. So i can't complain toooooo much. hehe.
Lauren - neither Tallon or I have ever gotten sick from swimming. But then my nephew & niece had constant ear infections from swimming. Just have to see how you go I guess. I haven't started Kayla yet coz I'm still getting in with Tallon. Was hoping to start her next term, but I think I might leave it another term. I'll just swim with her normally at other times as the weather warms up, and start lessons later. TBH Tallon didn't get anything out of early swimming lessons, it was only as he got older that he really started to get into it, so I'm not too fussed about Kayla starting a bit later than he did.
Nic - I'm looking forward to Kayla's hair getting longer so it'll sit down a bit more! LOL. I should update my pic huh. hmm.. might do that now :) I'll try and find a 'hair' one hehehe.
ETA: doh, doesnt show as well when its shrunk for the ticker heh.
-
goodness her hair sure has grown :) what is it with our bubs and sticky up hair  cute!
-
liz - one of the places i rang about swimming pretty much fobbed me off saying hes too young he doesnt need to, as long as he can have a shower and feel confident with water on his face theres no need to take them, it would only be for the mothers to be social thats it. I felt bit hurt cos i was really looking forward to it, and yes i am doing it to be social too, but for Ash as well as me. but this other place seems nice. Its just to get out and have some fun rather being at home all the time. If im not at home im out shopping and im sure one day he'll not want to do that with me any more..lol
-
pffft Swimming lessons can never start to early.. Whether it is done at home or not.. but I think its a good idea to get kids into the pool or ocean as soon as you can..
Good night here.. Feeling grumpy this morning though.. Simon appears moody which sends the whole house into a moody mood.. He is probably tired  Try staying awake from 4:30 till late and dealing with Jacobs constant tantrums.. Grr. vent over.. Off to enjoy my day
-
Yeah I don't think its too early to start. But if you're inclined to swim anyway, paying for extra lessons is a waste at a very young age IMO. I did find the commitment to the lessons meant we actually did go swimming regularly tho. I'm surprised they turned you away tho.
We're off to a makeup lesson this morning actually hehe.. for Tallon. First time I'm leaving Kayla in the creche too :( Normally mum is available to watch her, but not today. Hopefully she won't get too upset.
Best go. Bye!
-
Liz - Olivia's hair looks about the same as Kayla's. At mothers group yesterday someome suggested that I should cut it soon and I nearly choked - can't imagine cutting her hair yet, it is just too cute.
Lauren - we were thinking about starting swimming lessons next term but I think I am going ot leave it for now and just take her myself every now and then. We think she would like another term of Gymbaroo and I don't want to be paying for both.
Nic - I agree about dresses being impractical, but they are just so cute sometimes! I hardly ever put Olivia in dresses but when I do I feel the need to get the camera out!
Olivia had a good nigh here. Mummy didn't. Not sure why I couldn't sleep and then when I did get to sleep I had nightmares most of the night :(
-
 Alicia.. It sucks when baby sleeps and you can't.. I hope you manage a rest today and a decent night tonight
-
Hi all,
Omigod Liz how cute is Kayla's hair?? And Olivia's is pretty cute too Nic. i wouldn't cut it- let it grow a bit more and see how it flops naturally, then you'll know how to manage it so it looks neat, iykwim.
Lauren- we've been doing swimming lessons for about five months. Ty loves it and so do I :) The first palce we went was terrible- it was freezing in there and they didn't have showers you could use afterwards and Ty was getting a lot of colds (one that turned into bronchilitis). But we go to Kings now and it is awesome- very well set up for babies and very warm. Do you have a Kings near you? I know they are a franchise but not sure if they are in Vic. Just make sure where ever you go it is warm and then you have less chance of Ash being sick. Also, if you're looking to get out more and do the social mummy scene, does your local library have a lap sit program for babies? We go whenever Ty is awake for it (should be there today but he is napping) and it's great fun too- books and songs and rhymes and stuff.
Alicia- Nightmares suck, I'm amazed at how many more I've had since I had Ty. And lots of them are about him too :(
ETA- Happy nine months to my little chop :)
-
Happy 9 months Ty!!!
This is so funny
DropShots.com
Thats how olivia crawls.. Cracks us up :)
-
Is anyone else having screaming issues with their little one? Monique has started screaming (very loud) again all day and it's doing my head in. She has been impossible to get to sleep for the last two nights as well. How do you know when teeth are coming through? We have been blaming everything on teeth but she still doesn't have any and at bed time she gets really rosy hot cheeks.
I love Olivia's crawl Nic. Did she get a haircut or is her hair sitting flat now?
-
Sometimes they can just be real turds ;) If I think its teeth I ofer a cup to chew on then infants friend as it helps ease teething pain as well (magic stuff) and if she is still cracking it I give panadol.. I give it about half hour after IF..
No to the haircut. It has just grown up so much it folds over itself  I was debating a haircut this week but have now decided to just leave it be for a couple months. When I get the boys hair cuts I will ask the hairdressers advice. I don't want it cute but just the ends trimmed so they don't get in her eyes anymore
ugh to my night. I had a really sore throat before bed. and at 1am I woke all plegmed up (nice I know) so I went and slept in the lounge so my sneezing snorting and coughing wouldn't wake Olivia lol. I slept quite soundly till Missy woke at 4:30.. but yay she went back to sleep at 5 till 6:30 :) She also fell off my bed again *blush* she didn't cry. just tumbled of and went off crawling into my cupboard
-
awwww cute nic! go the comando! hehe
Tinsel - Some teeth do not even show signs there coming through, if your the lucky percentage, youll wake up one morning and they will be there, but i think the biggest signs of teeth have to be the nawing on EVERYTHING, crying with there hands in there mouth, and alot of drooling along with some ear pulling.
Ash still doesnt have teeth but has terrible movements, it can take months for them to come through, so could be possible she is teething, just taking there time.
-
Tinsel- Ty looked he was teething for ages, the red cheeks, drooling etc, bu then when the tootha actually came through, it only took two days to cut (from when I could feel the sharp bit under the gum to actually coming through.
Nic- Oops again :) I actually popped Ty on the floor in my room with the door shut and let him crawl around for half hour so i could sleep in a bit more. I felt bad when I got up but- it was so cold here this morning we had a frost, poor little bub must have been freezing.
-
if my bedroom floor was clean i would do the same  no way is it ok for a baby.. **blush**
cold send it this way. I am sick of the up and down weather here.. Was hot last night.. turned the fan on.. Early this morning cool not cold. now its over cast and muggy
-
I had the best sleep last night. I gave missy a feed at 12.30am and then woke maybe two times to put dummy in and she was back off to sleep until just before 9am. It hasn't been that good for months. She has a bit of a cold so maybe she is extra tired. I'm hoping it is the start of sleeping through again. I am trying to get her into a routine for night time but it isn't working out so far.
Nic - Whoops! I'm worried about Monique falling off the bed as she is fast with the backwards move. Good that she doesn't cry. Her hair is so cute.
Thanks everyone for your replies on the teething. Buzzie, I hope we are one of the lucky few who wake up and teeth are there. I was wondering about gels and things but might look into infants friend. I don't like to give Panadol unless she obviously needs it.
Liz - I couldn't see the pic of Kayla's hair. Do you have a pic in the gallery? Monique still has sticky up hair which is really cute.
Buzzie - bummer about the pool. Hope you find somewhere to take Ash. We will put Monique in swimming lessons when she is one. DH and I are not good swimmers ourselves.
Have a nice day everyone. It is beautiful here today so we best get out in the sunshine. Have to stay away from playgroup today with the runny nose and eyes.
-
Here's the pic in the gallery. https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...83&ppuser=1363
i haven't used the BB gallery in ages! hehe.
-
Liz: Kayla is soooo cute!! her hair is sweet! You so have to buy little clips for it.. little strawberry one...
-
yeah, I've got some clips, but they just fall out. Her hair is too fine and slippery. And when I put a headband on her she looks so 80's LOL.
-
What sort of clips do you have? I got mine off ebay.. They are designed for fine hair :) I get a hold of Olivias hair (dampen it) and then twirl it a bit and stick the clip in.. lol...
I don't know what type of clips they are but I think the butterfly ones I have atre called alligator clips.. They slip a little too much at the moment so they are put away but I bought one that snaps shut and it stays put
-
Yeah, I've got the ones that snap, they don't stay in, and they're hard to put in coz she doesn't appreciate me pushing on her head LOL. The butterfly ones stay in a bit better and are easier to pop in, but she only has to shake her head a couple of times and they fall off.
I could always put product in her hair heheh. I'll try wetting it before clipping.. that might help :)
-
Liz - Kayla is really cute and I love her beautiful lips. Her hair is great. Monique's isn't that long yet. Will put a pic in the gallery.
We haven't tried clips yet as we are scared she will pull it out and eat it.
-
hi everyone, bring on this spring weather..! gees its been so nice here!
Liz - so cute piccie!!
had the funniest thing happened yesterday, i went to pick up a toy i brought from ebay for Ash and the lady was all goochie over him and goes 'how old is he, 18 months??" LMAO!!! i cracked up.. hmm sorry lady try 8!!
Ash is booked in for term 4 gymbaroo! yay ! wat a busy term we're gonna have! im lucky to go to playgroup once a month now, too far to drive and i hate that!! They have organised a mums night out, theres 12 of us and only 3 still breastfeed so no drinkys for us :( oh well Ashs drinks come first.. hehe
Well better get off this computer.. Ash is asleep in my bed.. eeep thankgod hes not into rolling over when hes a sleep yet!!
-
Morning all, in such a good mood, 25 and sunny today woot!!
Well yesterday i got mum of the year, :( Ash was standing up holding on the back of the kitchen chair and was rocking it and i was sitting there reading my new cook book thinking itll fall if hes not careful ... Careful... hes 8 months.. wats careful... dummy mummy!! so of course it came straight back on him and he screamed his little lungs out, he has 3 bruise lines on his forhead this morning where the wooden bars landed on him :( ohh so horrible! bad mummy!
have a good day everyone
-
awww  Lauren.. I have done that with olivia too :( Except her chair was smaller..
Little brag moment coming.... We were sitting outside the school yesterday waiting for the bell. Olivia was standing on the chair and I was holding her hips while she bounce around.. anyways she stood still so I carefully let go and she stood for around 3 seconds on her own lol.. She is not content to just sit or crawl anymore. We are at the cruising around things stage.. within a matter of days she has gone from pulling up to her knees to walking around furniture..
and last night she ate a massive bown of diced veges and baby pasta. I didn't mash it like normal and she made an awesome mess and had a fun time LOL..
-
nic - thats so good shes doing that, ash stood for 2 secs once but not really walking around furniture yet! and his appitite.. omg!! hes a little piggy! he he
Ash is now saying Fish and says my dogs name tya :) and wen i whisper to him.. wats that? he whispers back waaaa ahhhhhh lol
Does anyone let there bubs crawl on grass outside? sounds dumb but Ash was playing in the leaves loving it and i wanted to take him on the oval for a big crawl, but was worried it would be to dirty as other dogs go there.. anyones opinion???
-
I was just thinking about this today.. If Olivia crawled on all 4's I would let her crawl on the yard but she doesn't so I wont just yet..
Not sure about places where dogs go though but then my yard has cat pee on it.... hmmm.
I guess maybe dress him so only his hands and feet are out and wash them down when he is done and make sure he doesn't put anything including his fingers in his mouth...
Miss Olivia is just gorgeous :) I am just lovin everything at the moment.. And even though she has been sleeping through but woke for 2 hours lat night (2.30-4.30) It was nice.. i got lots of cuddles.. I was also exhausted lol..
She was so good today.. let me clean my room and throw (charity) 8 garbage bags of clothes from my room. she happily sat in her cot playing with her toys while we scrubbed the walls and vacced and so on and so on.. My room hasn't been cleaned properly since before Olivia was born **blush**
Anyways ,.. Im happy hope everyone else is..
-
Oh how nice Nic, i bet that felt awesome. 8 bags! wow! i wish i had 8 bags of clothes to start with LOL i think i nice big summer shop is in order!! hehe
thanks for that info, i think i might rug him up in some daggy clothes he can get dirty and take some baby wipes with me incase i need quick hand wash before coming home..
Well i didnt go to the movies last night - will attempt it on tuesday but instead we got dinner and sat on the beach as Ash slept the whole time, it was soooooo beautiful, full moon too right above us which was so nice! - i used to practically live on the beach before ash, was so nice to do that again and with ash too was nice. We watched the Spirit of Tasmania boat leave and decided we are gonna take ash to tassie for a weekend. so that was my highlight! hehe
Also wanted to get some info... Did someone on here say going on the pill changed there breastfeeding???
Is anyone here breastfeeding and on the pill and does it do anything for bubs??? I was told at the start to go on the mini pill, but really didnt want to be on anything while breastfeeding. Mind you i still havent got AF back yet, so as long as it wont start that!!!
-
Buzzie - dinner on the beach sounds wonderful. We are 2 hours away from our beach holiday spot and we are going down on Thursday and I can't wait. Monique loves squishing the sand between her toes. Sounds like your date went really well and positive and I also can't believe that Ash says Fish and Tya. What a clever boy! Am not on the pill (although I got a prescription) so can't help you there. We are planning to have another one next year so if it happens, it happens.
I know how you feel when bubs has a mishap. Yesterday I was putting clothes away and Monique was trying to pull herself up using the change table legs and I said to her to be careful and yep, she headbutted the change table. I felt awful there were so many tears.
Nic - how wonderful to be so happy. When Monique isn't making me deaf with the screaming I really love being with her. Clever Olivia. Monique has been standing for a few weeks holding on to furniture but it worries me because she doesn't know how to "fall" properly so I make sure I am there to catch her.
Cough - Monique has a really terrible deep cough that makes her cry. What do you do? I was thinking of going to a chemist today maybe to get a vapouriser for the room and should she have medicine to make it better? I'm wondering if she has a sore throat that hurts when she coughs.
-
Hello Ladies,
Tinsel - Loren has the same cough and the vapouriser really helps.
Buzzie - Wow at Ash saying Fish!!! You dinner by the beach sounds great. DH and I got both girls to sleep during the day for 2 hours on Saturday...we had a great time:)
Liz - Kayla is so cute.
Nic - Clever girl for Olivia standing. I am enjoying Loren atm too. It is just too cute with Sara and Loren giggle together.
Not much happening here. Loren is sleeping really well at night...I know I have just jinxed myself. We had a cr@p Father's Day..We went to a festival with Rob's parents (their choice) and there were people smoking everywhere. It was terrible. Rob' parents dragged us there then spent the whole day with their friends ...smoking. By the end of it I was sick and Loren coughed her heart out all night. Anyways I cracked it big time now the family think I am too boring!!! wtf sorry needed to get that one off my chest.
Best go ...chat soon
