S is being a pain, just one of those nights, I just fed her for 20 mins each side & she still wanted more 'so had to top her up & she just won't settle again & I want sleep! I hope we both have a better night tomorrow night with our bubbas!
Gosh hun I hope your back feels better soon, when do you have chiro?

I've got really painful wrists n forearms from bf, they ache sometimes for hrs, I hope I'm not doing perm damage to them. The bd pillow has helped though, if I get her in the right position I don't need to hold her.

Yeah C is the same right now!! Will not settle, keeps grunting instead of actually crying. I have fed her like 4 times since 4am, cause she wakes up again or wants more boobies! Im
Currently hoping she will fall asleep this time cause I've given her the mornings zantac dose, using her swaddle instead of a wrap (yes it got a tiny bit of pee on it last night but I am desperate so who cares) an she should now be really full!!
Will Sienna settle if you let her fall asleep while feeding? Is DH back at work now?
My DH just got up for work so he changed her for me.

My chiro is on wed. But it doesn't feel like bone issues. It's the tendon n muscles in between my left shoulder blade and my spine, and it's hurting n spasming in a way that's making me feel physically sick in my tummy. I need to get a massage but when am I goin to do that? Chiro is hard enough with C cause she usually is not happy! My chiro has had to crack my neck with C on my chest! Lol.

Ok well the Zantac, clean bum, another feed and the swaddle suit "seem" to be working!! She is in her bassinet asleep but let's see how long for!
As soon as I finish my oats I am getting some sleep!!!

Edited to add that the little sh*t is awake and screaming again. Less than an hour sleep... I have cracked it and am just letting her scream next to me. I am so tired and sick of this stupid constant feeding and screaming. Why can't she just sleep??????

Bex have you tried different types of dummies. Ava didn't like the avent ones but likes the cherry shaped tommee tippee ones. You poor thing it is frustrating when they scream and you don't know why!!

mrs Bexie: Do watch that bleeding. It should be nothing serious as long as it's not too heavy n u're not feeling sick. I had my little episode at 4 wks but I had lots n lots of bleeding. I remember the OB say you could get some bleeding on n off still as long as it is light. AF is possible (nothing's impossible in this world :P) but unlikely as u're breastfeeding exclusively n getting up at night to BF too. Yes lets motivate each other to lose weight. I just can't bear to see all my pre-preg clothes go to waste so I better fit into them again somehow! I found the same with dummies like Renee, Claire didn't like the happy baby ones but doesn't mind the avent ones.

Babyluv: I'm the same with my wrists and arms so I think I better get a BF pillow today. Sometimes when I hold Claire's head I feel like my wrists are about to collapse! You'll be fine at mother's group. It'll b nice once u get past the initial awkward stage. I hate new things and new people too but always find that it's not that bad in the end.

Not looking fwd to the hot hot hot weather the next few days. Claire hates the heat but having the air con on 24/7 is so going to send our electricity bills through the roof. Gotta go to medicare today to sort out our baby bonus claim documents. Oh and it's Chinese New Year on Thurs!!!! Can't wait to celebrate our first CNY as a real family

MrsBexie: How are you feeling today? Hope the bleeding hasn't gotten any heavier. S is funny about the dummy too, I've tried a nuk orth one & the cheapo Coles cherry ones but most of the time she just screams & spits it out. If she's upset & will take it it does calm her down.

Caixin: We will motivate each other, we will all got our pre Preg bodies back
I got my bf pillow from Target thanks to Bex suggestion, it's really good was $26 down from $35. It helps with the wrists if S isn't being a painful feeder.

AFM: 40 degrees here again today yuck! Mothers group is at 2 & I'm really anxious. I know I already said this but I'm really not looking fwd to it at all! We had a terrible night last night, not constant screaming but S just couldn't relax. Crying on & off, just dozing. Pulling off the breast and screaming. I think she had her reflux & a sore tummy!

Have a great day everyone xxx

Renee: yeah we've tried avent and nuk which are different shapes. She hates both!

Caixin: the bleeding isn't heavy at all but I am definitely keeping my eye on it! I'm jealous you have aircon! Lol. How are you feeling? How is the hoohaa feeling after the second round of stitches?

Babyluv: the only way I ended up settling her was by feeding on the side so she constantly had boob in her mouth n I could get some sleep in between the grizzles and side changes.
Hope you are ok today and not feeling too anxious. I know what you mean though about not wanting to be with new people. Story of my life! Lol

C has just fed so waitin for her to fall asleep so we can go for a walk down to the shops, I want to try to find a bra that fits my massive boobs and I need more pads. We are walking because she hates being taking in and out of the carseat so this way she should stay asleep and I can get some exercise! She is almost settled. I need to be able to put her down to get organized before we can go!!

Mrs B huge it so hard when our babies just keep crying and we are so very sleep ourselves, some babies just arnt dummy suckers I am sorry, DD1 wasnt... DD2 took about 6 weeks to start sucking her dummy then she LOVED it... PK isnt here or there with his dummy, wont really take it if I am the one giving it but will happilly take it if one of the kids give it to him...

The best things we can some times do if you feel you are going to loss it, is to put them in a safe place ( like their cot ) and walk away, got outside for a few minutes to carm down before you go back in, I have had meny times where I have had to go out the back... the heat isnt helping either...

babylov its been 40 here too, blurrrrrk I love the heat but not with PK always wanting boob or to be in my arms sweating him baby butt off not to meantion making me extra hot too...

Caixin, we are hoping to see a bit of the CNY action this year my local burbs are having a street party so that will be cool to see, I know the winkies will love to see the dragon, I just want to eat all the food...

AFM... PK is 6 weeks so sad time has gone way too fast he is so much more awake now, loves looking around in the morning ( morning is the only time I can put him down on his matt without him crying ) helps having the older winkies entertaining him... But school goes back on friday so my life will change again, as I will have to get organized and get up earlier lol..
I have been looking for a new house to rent without any luck, so begining to think there is a higher power out there tring to tell me something, so I might just leave it for now as I do still have 4 mths on my current lease... I am having my good and bad days about been single, but I am hoping that once I settle into my new life I will start having more happy days, days without missing Xh so much...

Babyluv: how did your mother's group go? Hope you got to meet some nice mums. It's so hard when they can't relax and sleep well isn't it? Claire had one of those afternoons where she was just half asleep a lot of the time. Too bad the target sale is off, so it's back to $35 now, still thinking if I should get it :P

Mrs Bexie: Hoohaa is still out of action as the stitches are still there. Going through the itchy pulling stage now, very annoying. Can't believe it's only been one wk since it happened, just felt like wks already. Hope u found some nice new bras to fit those porn star boobies. Are you using disposable or reusable breast pads?

New Dawn: Yum I love CNY goodies. Usually we stock up the house with lots of goodies and invite friends over but haven't have a chance to go shopping this yr yet, also not sure if we will be up to having too many guests either. We usually go to Boxhill or the city for their festivals but don't think we want to with bubs this yr. Yay on having ur older kids look after PK, still think all mums with more than one kid are super mums coz it's hard enough with one!!

Terribly hot weather today. Claire was well behaved at the shops today but only let me go to medicare and HBA then started crying, cried all the way home in the car and was starving when we got home. Don't know why coz she was only fed less than 2 hrs ago. Tried not to turn the air con on till later but C was just so unsettled and kept sweating and not sleeping well so I gave in. So worried about my electricity bill this quarter but at least she's sleeping now. I don't find it hot but Claire's all sweaty down the back.

    Hey ladies,

OK so most of you here will already know me, I gave birth to little Olive on the 11th of December and I did join the right thread but have only posted once. It's just too hard to get to know everyone again. So I have decided to come and hang out with "my girls" hope no-one minds, I'm only in the wrong group by 5 days anyway so oh well.

So just a little about where we are at. I'm sure none of you want to hear this but little O is doing great, she is self settling and sleeping like a dream. She either wakes once during the night or not at all, it's awesome. (Bex that's why I wish we lived closer so I could come help you out for a bit). I feel like it's all a little too easy and everything is going to hit the fan real soon, but she's over 7 weeks now and everything is still cruising along nicely so fingers crossed hey?

As for the weight thing well I hear you all there, I still have about 7 or 8 kgs to go and they're not budging. I need to get out and walk more (Babyluv maybe we could meet up?). But I'm giving myself 4 months and then I want to be back to my pre preggy weight. The big push for me is we are not using contraception (except for bf) this time around as it took us 38 months to convieve #1 so if I fall pg then great, but I really want to be back to my pre preggy weight before getting knocked up again, he he. Fingers crossed I can and hopefully this time around wont be so long.

Hope you are all doing well. I will try to pop in as regularly as possible. Love to you all and your beautiful babies.

    Xxoo

PS: Sorry about the "all about me post"!

keli: Don't feel bad cause you have a dream baby! LOL... We will all just be jealous! Olive is just so gorgeous!!! Walking is good, I went for one to the shops (bout 5km return) and didn't realise how unfit I was!!OMG! lol.
And you are allowed to join this group cause technically only 2 people I think are actually meant to be in here! Hahaha... I missed you! WOW TTC already? I am so not ready for that! I would laugh (mean I know) if you got pg straight away after TTC for so long! But I just couldn't imagine being pg again already... I am having a bad enough time with one let alone having another one!!!
I wish you lived closer too!! I wish all the girls did!

Caixin: I think the pillow is still worth it considering most BF pillows are over $70!! And it really does help with the back/wrists/shoulder etc...

So walked to Kmart shops which is about 5kms return, C fed just before we left, took about 20 mins to get there and she slept the way there. Then once we got there and I went to try on some bras she started hysterically screamign and din't stop until I got to the mothers room to feed her (even though she had fed like an hour before hand). I had to try on the bras with her screaming and I was so embarrassed at having her scream so loud with so many people around judging me! But I did manade to find a new bra, it's a sports maternity bra (meant to stop bouncing but that's a joke!! HAHA) that is so comfy and black and it was on sale! So after that I fed her and walked home, she didn't sleep on the way home but only grizzled every now and then. Once we got home, BAM hell baby was back... screaming again so guess what, I am feeding her AGAIN even though she fed like half an hour ago! BAH... what is wrong with her?! I just want her to be happy and quiet so we can just enjoy time together!!! She was alright over the weekend when everyone was here but as soon as it's just me and her she is hysterical!! It's like she hates me or something...

I am over hoping tonight is going to be better... I know it's not!
I hope everyone else is having more luck than me.

Caixin: I didn't go to the mums group hehe, I was really anxious about going, I don't like being in situations I'm not familiar with and have heard about these groups being really competitive and judgmental so decided not to go.
I think you should get a bf pillow if it will help your wrists. Bub is only going to get heavier!

Keli: I have about 7kgs to lose too so walking sounds great to me'
It's great Olive is being such a good bub
Our bubs were born the same day & I decided to stay with the girls I know n love Glad you're back!

MrsBexie: hang in there Hun it will get easier. Wish there was something I could do to help, I know how you feel, it's so tough and so frustrating when they are so unsettled and you don't know why. I said the same thing to dh that she hates me', sometimes she settles much better for him than me. Xxx

Oh sweetheart she doesnt hate you, you are her mumma... it does sound as though she might have colic or something, is she burping ok... maybe go back to your health nurse and see what they say, you could also look into sleep school, unfortunilty some babies get like this and dont grow out of it for quite sometime, so I would be defentley seeing your doctor/health nurse... they might have some useful tips for you... Babies feed of your fustraions of the more flusted we become the more the cry ( I know thats not really helpful sorry )... Have you got any friends or family near by that you can call apond when she gets this way so they can take over for a bit while you have a coffee... Oh that could be something too it could be something you are eating or drinking ( that you didnt have on the weekend) thats setting her off...

sorry just thinking out loud... I hope some of this is a little helpful...

Anyone in Melbourne feel like having a meet up sometime next week, I dont have meny IRL friends so would love to meet some new people... I am happy for people to come to my place for coffee, I could even make Cookies... if your up for it PM me

I haven't changed my eating, I've been watching it though just in case but I am a creature of habit so don't vary much from what I eat.
I live up here with my hubby n we were posted here with the army so I have no friends and no family. I am slowly making friends with some people at church but they work during the day. One of them is pg and she goes on mat leave start of April (doesnt help now) so that'll be good! I'm pretty much on my own. I don't know if a sleep school would help cause she sleeps sometimes perfectly! She just has episodes like today!
She is on Zantac cause she has silent reflux so she is already medicated and cant do anymore just yet. I'm giving it a bit longer and if she is still really unsettled I will go back to the GP n see if we can do anything else.
I wish I was in melbourne!!! I'd definitely be up for meeting everyone but it's a little far for me! Lol.

Bex, we are having a shocker also today. Ava has slept for 3 hrs total since 6am!!! She just doesn't want to sleep, i have cried alot today!!! She has the dummy on and off but when it falls out she just screams again so i am trying not to give it to her often. She will settle in mine or DH's arm but as soon as we put her down she screams again. It sounds like she is in pain but i don't know what it could be. She is farting and pooing like a trooper and isn't constipated or have wind. She is fed and has a clean bum! I hate not being able to help or comfort her when she is like this.

Keli: Nice to see you here! Do join us! So happy for you that Olive is gem. With so many of us having fussy babies there's gotta be someone who's having a good one. You must have all this time up ur sleeve to be thinking of TTC again. ;p Do share some tricks with us on how to get the dream baby!

Mrs bexie: BF pillows are certainly all very ex! I saw the milk bar pillow that looks good but it's $65. You're a champion walking 5km! I've still yet to go for my first walk except at the shops, better get those walking shoes out if i want to shift the baby weight. I think I've got the same bra, it's really comfy Hope you get some sleep tonight.

Babyluv: I've heard the same about mother's group but I guess it depends on the people. We should form our own mother's group Claire's certainly getting much heavier and also more wriggly during her feeds, I'm having to hold her much more firmly as she seems to want to look at things around her. Bub certainly doesn't hate you! She love you to bits but prob just can't settle as well for you coz she can smell ur milk? Maybe you've been with her the whole day already and are getting tired so dad's a nice change? I get the same too so once Dh gets home I pass C to him and rather do the cooking etc coz he seems to settle her much better.

New Dawn: This may sound silly but what is IRL? I would love to meet up for coffee... we could form our own mother's group Where in melbourne do you live?

Mrs Bexie: Must be real hard not having many friends. Most of my friends are single or are married but no kids so working most of the week and my family's all far away too. So BB is really nice

Renee: Awww.... :hugs: 3 hours sleep for the day is certainly very meagre. Does she like music? Have you tried using monotonous sounds? Some babies calm down when they hear the vaccum cleaner or fan whirring, you can even download an application that has a collection of these sounds. I've found it really calms C down when she's crying hysterically so it breaks the cycle of her crying till she turns purple. FX she sleeps better for you tonight since she hasn't had much sleep in the day.

What's normal for a 5 week old baby to be awake for? I've just been finding that Claire wants to play/ 'talk more after feeds but I'm afraid that too much play time would make her too tired and hard to settle. She only really has 1-2 good sleeps during the day for about 2-3 hours each time, rest of the time she's either just lying in her hammock or drifting in and out of sleep in my arms.

    Hello ladies,
Wow, It's taken me ages just to catch up on the posts!
    Sorry I've been MIA.

Had DS's 4th birthday party yesterday on the 40 degree day!! Check out the birthday cake on my FB page
And today I haven't had my laptop because DS went to work with DP and took my laptop so I was left with no communication to the outside world

to everyone. I don't even know where to start with catching up!!!
I'll just let you know what's happening over here.

Ivy being a little legend, slept 9 hours again last night, which is so wonderful, feeling like a human again. Tomorrow is my first day with DS and Ivy with no one else here to help me - I'm a bit scared!! Hopefully it's not too hot so I can take DS to a park to go wild.

to everyone having a hard time with screaming babies, it's so hard to deal with, especially when you're exhausted and your back hurts from feeding and you have sore arms etc etc!!

yay Keli on joining us in here....
I too am sorry about the all about me post.... Trying so hard to keep up!!!
