    Hi all

Bex, yuck poor C. We had our first poo explosion yesterday. Ava was in her capsule and it came all up the front of her!! Lucky we were on our way home it was disgusting!! I couldn't help but gag trying to undress her. Oh the joys!!!

Man i have one unsettled girl during the days. She woke at 6 this morning and has only had 2 or 3 cat naps of about 20mins since then. She has just gone down now and hopefully she has a good sleep cause i am exhusted!! She just won't go down. I leave her to cry for a bit but she gets herself worked up, then as soon as i pick her up she falls back to sleep, little devil!!!! I think she eventually gets to the point where she is too exhusted to keep it up. At night she feeds, then goes straight back down like a gem so i guess it is better she is unsettled during the day than at night.

Hope everyone is having a lovely day.

    Just a quick one,
Got a prescription for Zantac so FX that helps and stops her from being constipated!!! And she got weighed, she is now 4.4kgs!! So overall gain since birth (inc making up the 200gms she lost) is 1.7kgs in 3 weeks and 4 days. At least I know she is getting enough milk!! haha

Now we are off to swim! Going to meet DH out at base (and the pool will be open this time) so will post photos on fb later.

    xx

PS Renee: Charlotte is the same! Unsettled but once I do get her to sleep she usually stays asleep. Maybe you should try on of the wrap me up swaddles too? Are you swaddling her tight or does she sleep unwrapped?

Renee: How was the rest of your day? Was she more settled?

MrsBexie: How was your swim today? I saw the photos, they're great. Charlotte is so gorgeous
What dose Zantac is Charlotte on?

Sienna has had an odd day today, she has been feeding between 1&2 hrs all day. Maybe she is going through a growth spurt. I've decided for now we are just going to do what works for us rather than stress about getting her to do things that upset her. If she wants to sleep on me' then fine I'll just vacuum with the sling on. If she sleeps next to me' in bed that's ok. She clearly isn't ready to be on her own & I don't want to force it, it upsets her & then I get upset. She's only 6 weeks old, if she needs cuddles then cuddles she gets. She's too little to be made to 'learn' to be on her own yet. I think when she is at that developmental stage where she knows when I leave her I'm coming back she will get better with the sleeping on her own thing, well fingers crossed.
How does everyone else get stuff done with a bub that wants cuddles all day?

Babyluv: she wasn't too sure about the pool!! LOL. She cried at first then once we hugged her close she stopped. Me being the mean mummy I kept holding her out but she hated it!! haha,
I think your attitude is awesome!! That is exactly what you need to do. If she wants cuddles, give her cuddles!! I have a new sling now, a Mei tai one so if C wants hugs then I can get stuff done around the house with her in the sling. They are only $39.95 from mothersdirect website (just add .com.au on the end) I just have to learn how to tie it now! haha.
Charlotte is on 2mls per day. The stuff tastes horrible! So I am going to do what you do, 1ml morning n night to break it up a bit. She is going to hate it I know!!

PIL's arrive tonight. YAY not... lol. No I should be excited, but I am not really. They will be here in like 2 hours or something. My SIL and her 2yo DD are staying in Charlotte's room, anyone else kinda protective of the nursery?? Charlotte hasn't even slept in her room yet and I want her to be the first! haha... I said to DH no way is our neice sleeping in C's cot! So protective! lol.

Haha yes I'm protective of her nursery. Before she was born we had friends come over that have two little kids 6&4 yrs old and we showed them the nursery & the kids started picking up her toys & I made them stop. I didn't want anyone to play with her toys before her.

I now add her Zantac to about 20mls of EBM morning and night because it's quite strong, really Minty & Sienna was gagging and spitting it out and screaming when I gave it to her. Much easier now.

Gosh I hope the Zantac helps Charlotte it's so upsetting when your bub is in pain! Fingers crossed!!!

im still wearing my clothes i had while pg....

Kmart had some nice skirts and shorts for $19 each when pg around the tops are stretchy elastic so i can still wear them, the reason you girls dont fit pre pg clothes is cause your hips get wider being pregnant and take 2yrs to go back down

Umm, mizqtie.. the reason my clothes don't fit is because I am 9kgs heavier than when I bought them... not cause my hips got wider. My ar*e got bigger, my thighs got fatter, my tummy is fatter. I won't fit my clothes until I lose the 9kgs or more.

Kirsten is already back in her pre preg clothes so that's not true it takes 2 years.

kaylee: Nothing of mine fits either. So I am stuck in between maternity and pre-preg clothes with like 3-4 things to wear! I am starting walking 3 times a week this week and going to get my weights out now my hip seems to be doing well! Not going to go too hard though... still only gave birth 4 weeks ago and my body is recovering!!

It can take 3 months for the weight to fall off with breastfeeding too.. at first it may not seem like anymore weight will fall off but it will!

Oh and I use the Ergo with the heart 2 heart insert, does get a bit hot, but just put them in a nappy or a singlet too. I have a mei tai wrap too but the straps aren't long enough so have to sew on more material! DH says it's for midgets! hahaha...

I think I might have to do that babyluv... She spat out the dose tonight so don't know if she got any!! I was looking forward to only Having to syringe feed 1-2ml lots instead of 20mls but if it helps make her keep it down then I might have to!

C is in cluster feed mode, she'd pass out in my arms, I'd put her down, 5 mins later she's screaming so go get her, she passes out and we start again! Now I am trying to fill her up so she stays asleep!

Hey girls.. Just dropping in to say Gday! I do stalk you all the time. Eden had his 6 week check up on Thursday. The paed was extremely happy with him. He's growth is above average (from birth to 6weeks). He's 5.1kgs & 58cm long. He's becoming alot more unsettled during the day now and cries ALOT... Thankfully he's an angel at night. The past couple of days has been difficult, I'm trying to find a way.... Thankfully DH is off work next week and we're heading to Sydney. We'll have my MIL to help out and I'm sooooo looking forward to a bit of a break.

Sounds like you're all doing so fabulously well....

Caixin: good to hear from you again, sounds like your getting along well considering your trauma last week! BB is great for staying awake and entertained while feeding, I think I'd be lost without my iPhone! Glad your first outing is done and dusted, that seems to be the hardest one.

Georgi: nice to hear from you again too, I like how you find time to drop in and say hi to us Eden sounds like a little champ with all that growing and sleeping well at night!

Renee: good idea trying to push that sleep back a bit, that would be a great nights sleep if it started when you went to bed! Good to hear you sounding happier with e everything

Bexie: how's the Zantac going? Love your pool pics, I can't wait to take G swimming! Did you have any drama with the nappy? You look great too!

Babyluv: loving all the new pics of Sienna too, she's a stunner! Does she like her tummy time?

Hi to everyone else, shelly how's those iron levels of yours going?

G had a real clingy day yesterday, I couldn't get a thing done which sucks coz we don't get too many sunny days at this time of year and I'm trying to make good use of them! She was nicer to me this morning tho, managed to get some mowing done and floors and cupboards cleaned, discovered the storm that hit on Thursday dropped a couple of our big gum trees (luckily not onto the fences!) one did damage the chook pen fencing tho so a bit of cleanup work to do there but i think i might leave that for dh!

No need to roll your eyes, I was just stating there is no thing that says it will take 2 years to come off. I just found that comment very de-motivating and depressing, it's not true and we can get back into pre-preg clothes in under 2 years..
We have to encourage each other and stay positive cause right now I know a lot of us are feeling very down about our bodies... Me very much so! So comments like that don't really help. That's all I was saying, but it doesn't matter because you removed the comment anyways. So moving on.

Mizqtie: would it be easier for you to search us if yours is barred? I'm Sarah baker, profile pic is me in a pink shirt holding georgia up near my face. Once you get one or two of us the rest will be easy to find thru same friends... I'll try search you too tho coz there's ten million ppl out there with my name so I can be a bit tricky to find!

    Hello!
I've also been MIA but i do stalk by the time i get to post Liam is screaming again.

Where did you guys get the swaddle me outfit? I love the look of them although I don't know if it would work as he hasnt been swaddled in a while.
We are finally establishing a routine and it is getting much easier. He now sleeps at night and when he is hungry he will go on the boob and i will go back to sleep.
The problem is, he doesnt like sleeping in his basinette much so I am not getting anything done, how are you guys managing between cooking and cleaning and bfing??
My mum left on Thursday and I literally have not done anything other than cleaning the bottles and sterilizing them and did a small bit of dishes.

I hope everyones reflux problems are getting better.
    I have to go!

i didnt remove it, a mod must have
and i didnt mean anything nasty out of it, must have come across the wrong way

i know its heartbreaking putting on weight but embrace your body hun its just grown a beautiful healthy baby, be proud of that!! (some people dont get that chance to even experience that)

    But yes lets move on!

I really think K has wind still or is teething his gums are white as and he LOVES when we stick his dummy in the freezer (normally wont accept a dummy, but after its been in the freezer he does) and babies who are teething LOVE cold things to chew on to help ease the pain!!
We took the boys swimming this afternoon, Z loved it and K didnt cry bit weird when he crys in the bath

For those that asked, I just had her in a normal nappy. It just swelled up a bit but it was fine!! I was calling C an "ant bum" (think a bugs life or whatever the movie is with ants, they all have huge bums) cause the nappy made her bum huge! Hahaha

Kaylee: I don't get anything done. Lol. Once I get her to sleep though, I can put her down. But then I don't want to spend that precious time hectically cleaning n then I will be more tired when she wakes up. So I do little bits at a time. Good to hear Liam is settling down for you tho! He is just gorgeous!!!! I got my swaddle from Bubsngrubs online, they have free postage but you are in Melbourne right? Pretty sure the big baby stores would have them, like baby bunting? It's a "wrap me up swaddle" by love me baby. C's is finally clean again after she did her one and only massive spew on it. Lol.

We had a lovely day at the park, got some great photos and funny videos so will post on fb maybe tomorrow. Charlotte was ok until we left then all hell broke loose!! We went to cold rock and had to change her there on the tables (no change table in the toilets!) and she was hysterical! I still had to go to woolies for wipes cause she has a really bad rash thingy on her bum and hoohaa! It's so red and looks a bit raw. I am using the Gaia skin soothing lotion which is a thick cream with that calendula or whatever it is, in it and it cleared it up but it's back on her hoohaa! So I bought some J&J sensitive wipes in hope that they will be better on her bum than aldi ones. I got a nap too this arvo of about an hour which I sooo needed thank god! Now we are goin to dinner at a seafood place and doing a seafood buffet. Mm..

Oh little mrs: Zantac seems to be doing alright... We'll see how tonight's feed goes cause just before bed (11pm-12am) is usually the worst time. Did you get your chicken pen fixed today?

Hope you ladies had a great day!!

Kaylee: I've been doing my housework with Georgia in the carrier (baby bjorne type thing) so she's still happy that she's on me but I have both hands free. I got it for $30 from target and love it, if you dont have one I would recommend finding one! Obviously can't cook like that tho, but for cooking I put her on her playmat with distracting lights and sounds and stick a dummy in her mouth, if she spits it out and cries then I figure she can't get hurt there so I leave her - as long as I'm not more than a few mins away. That's just what works for me hun, Liam may or may not agree! Having her in the carrier usually puts her to sleep to, bonus!

6wks isnt too young, because teeth dont come up straight away they play games with them in the gums, and it can go on for months!!!
Some babies are born with teeth already, others can get their first tooth at 4-5 months, every baby is dierent and being able to go on for months it just is more then likely possible
Z teethed for months before a tooth showed up
I use 'Infants Friend' it does wind but can ease pain of aching gums too...I found Infacol didnt work very good...Ive heard gripe water is good but never used it

Im going to buy a wii fit tomorrow (if i can be bothered to drive half an hour into the shops) to get fitter
I was a size 12 before getting preg and im probably about a 14-16 now
