Ok…I thought that I might tell you a bit about us and where Tobi is etc.
Tobi and I were in a routine at 4months, but that went out the window as DH was on holidays for 2.5months and we were flying and driving all over the place and never in the one spot for more than five nights in a row. This resulted in Tobi waking up four times a night for a feed. Then we moved from Brisbane to Sydney (not as bad as I thought it would be!!) and I couldn’t stand the lack of sleep any longer. So I downloaded this book off the net and I had Tobi sleeping through for 11hours in six nights and haven’t been waking up during the night since. So if any of you are having trouble, I really recommend it. It has worked for other friends that have tried it too.
Tobi’s routine now is:
7-7.30am Wake Up and Bf
8.30am Breakfast
9.30-10am Sleep
11.30-12pm Wake Up and Bf
1pm Lunch
3-3.30pm Sleep
4-4.30pm Wake Up and Bf
6pm Dinner
7pm Bath and Story time
7.30-8pm Bed
Tobi was really into eating solids a few weeks ago, but isn’t interested any more. I have been trying to make sure I only give him the boobie at meal times, to try and encourage him to eat the food I prepare, but eat up upsetting him as doesn’t want it. I don’t know whether this means he might be teething soon???? I take it he would complain if he was hungry, but I was hoping that I would be able to wean soon. He hates the bottle and plays with the sipper cup, although will drink from it if you persist. Is anyone else having problems with solids??
Tobi is born at the end of February, so he will probably be a little behind all your bubs, but how is everyone going with rolling over. Tobi loves to roll over and trying to get him to stay on his back to change his nappy isn’t easy, but he only rolls to his left and doesn’t roll from his belly to his back. Should I be worried? All I can think about is that guy from Zoolander that could only turn to the left!!!! He sits up no problems and drags himself around trying to get at things, but not up on all fours etc (I am happy to wait).
Jayne… I understand how you feel with DH going away to work. My Dh is in the Defence Force and is away a lot. He was actually away from about 4 months pregnant till Tobi was 3.5months old. He was luckily able to come home for the birth though (8days), so he didn’t miss out on that. It can be really difficult having them away, but strangely good as well (I think you get used to it). I have always found the lead up to them leaving the worst. You can’t stop thinking about how hard it is going to be. When I think I am a lot more organised when it is just bub and me. I only have one bub though, so having other monkeys is going to be harder…can Jessica help you out at all? Get her own drinks etc??? Missing out on milestones is hard too. How does your DH feel about it? I know my DH was devastated about the whole thing. Let me know if you want to talk about it…I am always here.
Anyway, that is enough from me for now, my munchkin just woke up.
Hope everyone is well and happy
Tash
PS. How is everyone going with losing their baby weight??
