Urgh, we're having an awful couple of days here. Jared has got his first tooth and the second is almost through too. He also has a runny nose which is stuffing him up everytime he lies down. I don't know whether that's from the teething or if he has a cold. He hasn't been sleeping well at all and therefore, neither have I! Just to make it worse... Ben has an ear infection! It's his second and I think it's from swimming lessons. We had such a good run with him healthwise until he turned 2 and ever since then it's been terrible! Anyway, he's sooky and waking once during the night too and just wants to be held all the time.

Sorry for the me-me-me, but I needed to get it out!

Me-Lisa, Ben didn't really take to food at first either (unlike his piggy brother!). I actually gave up for a couple of weeks and then went back to it and he was far more interested after that.
Jared doesn't sleep well during the day either (or at night right now!). Apart from this week, he usually wakes once between 3am and 5am for a feed and then goes back to sleep. I've found that since he's started three meals a day he's not as reliant on his booby juice, but is still having at least five daytime feeds a day.

Gypsy, have fun at the party this weekend! I'm such a sook about my boys, but I couldn't leave Jared anyway as he STILL won't take a bottle!
Sounds like Max is doing really well with his sleeps. I'm totally, totally jealous right now

Shanti, the canvas footprints sound really cute! Did you just buy the canvas at Spotlight or something or was it in a kit? I'd like to do something like that, our house needs more of a personal touch I think.
I know what you mean about not wanting Ava to walk early. Everybody keeps saying to me that it won't be long until J is walking and everytime I hear it I think "Please no!". He grew up way too fast as it is, I don't want to accelerate it any more

Runner, I hope you're having a great time in NZ Hope the appointment went well today.

LS, sorry no tips for sharing toys! Ben just started doing it. He still hogs his favourite toys a fair bit, but usually finds a suitable substitute for Jared. We're lucky that both of them seem to favour balls (apart from Ben's trains) and we have about a million different soccer and footballs around the place so there's more than enough to go around

I bought some baby yoghurts today for Jared to try. He's eating three fairly big meals a day now so I'm going to start introducing a few more things. He's tried chicken, which he loved, so we'll try some different meats now too. He'd live on avocado if I gave him the choice, he doesn't ever get sick of it!

    HELLO LADIES!!

SO sorry for my lack of input lately! I always check my hotmail account for notifications and havn't recieved any only to come on and see everyones been chatting away! Grr..I'll make sure I just check the site from now on

Firstly, It is so amazingly wonderful to hear about how in love with your baby(s) you are! Not that it surprises me! Who wouldnt love our little ones! I love hearing all the updates and milestons etc. Definatly gives you reassurance! I won't go to much into personals as there is alot I could say, but I promise i'll be more dedicated from here on out!

LS- It's wonderful seeing you and your little ones on FB also! There beautiful! Not to mention how much I laughed when I saw your DH on his home-made lawn mower! HAHA! It was soo funny..he just looked so proud of himself

As for Caiden, it's been a very tough month. Caiden got his first tooth (bottom) about 4 weeks ago. Wouldn't have really known he was teething...he did have a few wingy days but his was eating fine and cheeks were rarely red then suddenly a tooth! woo Then..it began! He was so upset allll day-crying and crying which is very unusual for Caiden wouldn't eat..woke up hourly at night and it was just so draining. About a week ago I finally got a look in his mouth and it turns out he was getting 5 TEETH AT ONCE!! Aswell as the one that was still growing so really 6 at once!! He has both his bottom two and top four! They have all broken through and are starting to shoot up! He'll be eating a steak before we know it! haha...so the poor thing hasn't been happy. His also had a runny nose and a chesty cough which i did take him to doctor about but doctor wasn't concerned as he has had no tempreture or fever so we have just been letting it run its course naturally. The vapouriser on a night has worked wonders.
Caiden is rolling around like a champ. Once he starts he doesnt stop. He finally started sitting on his own..but generally isn't interested. I wish he would as he would be able to play so much easier! But all in time He is so close to crawling its a tease! He now sits on all fours rocking backwards and forwards so his slowly putting it together. I am taking to time to baby-proof house now! So all is doing fairly well with our little man.

As for me, my dp and I had our first weekend escape at a B&B last weekend which was amazing. Right on the ocean and even saw dolphins from our balcony! Indulged in champagne-and ate so much seafood to make up for the seafood feast I missed at christmas time when I was pregnant hehe. Caiden stayed with my parents and off we went. We only went roughly an hr away so we could come back if needed. it was beautiful and surreal spending quality time with dp again. Well needed and much appreciated!

Even more exciting, my dp's boss (who is also his father) has shouted us a family holiday to fiji in october! All flights and accomodation paid for for a whole week!! We are so very excited about it and it will be Caiden's first real holiday! Going to be interesting to get him to sit still long enough for his passport photo though lol.

Anywho, thats the update! Very sorry again about lack of communication on my side! Give your beautiful, beautiful babies a hug and kiss from Caiden and me and remember to look after yourselves too!

Caiden'smum, great to hear about your upcoming holiday!!!! Lucky you and DH. I've wondered the same thing about passport photos, as we're going to Japan in May. They're not supposed to be smiling or anything, but everytime I pull out a camera, Jared puts a big grin on his face We have a bit of time to get past that though
Your weekend away sounds fantastic! We can't do anything like that since J won't take a bottle. I finally got him to take 60mls yesterday so at least we're making progress.
You poor thing - and poor Caiden - getting all six teeth at once! At least you'll probably have a bit of a break for a while now before the next couple come in. Jared only has the two bottom teeth so far and I'm quite happy to wait longer for the top ones. They can't bf without sticking their tongue over the bottom teeth so it's safe for now, but I worry about those top teeth clamping down.

We had a brilliant night last night. Jared slept from 10pm to 6am and went straight back down and is still down now. I was worried he'd be awake at 6 and would be so tired by the time we went to swimming, but it looks like his timing will be perfect today - yay!

We've been out and about a lot again this week. We found out that Ben is allergic to a lot of penicillin-related ABs (found out the hard way!) early in the week which is a pain. Ben's also been getting really bored after being home all of last week with an ear infection. I've gotta start looking for a daycare for him. I'm going back to work in Feb, but I think he's really missing having kids his age to play with so I'd like to get it sorted soon.

Okay, gotta go and start preparing the troops for swimming.

    HI everyone!

Thought I would come in and introduce myself to those of you who I haven't met before in other threads. This is a very very long overdue introduction as my firstborn, DS joined us on January 28 2009. Not sure what else I should say but hope to talk to you all on a more regular basis!

    Hi girls!!!!

Great to hear you are all going well!!! Welcome to the new people too!!!

Ava and I are great!! She can sit up on her own now for a few mins at a time which is exciting!! She is now having 3 meals a day as 2 meals a day was no longer filling her up enough and she's still loving Mummy's boob juice of course we have no plans to stop breastfeeding any time soon.... it's going really well
Weekly swim lessons too and she's now started smiling at me just before her head goes under the water!!! haha its sooo cute.
We had a wonderful night last night, she went to bed at 7pm (as always) and didn't wake until 5am!!!! Such a good night.... she's been teething pretty badly on and off the last couple of weeks but she's settled back down again now.... just no teeth yet. But no hurry on those because the longer they are in the gums the better I reckon. As in, the teeth remain nice and strong protected in the gums. Just means more pain for her though

Glad everyone is going well and I love reading the updates - sorry I don't have more time to post more often! Just a busy Mum

Oh! And yesterday I did a soap making course which I've fallen in love with too and I made some really cool soaps!!! I can't wait to make more soon...... !! It was my first time away from Ava for 6hrs i missed her heeeeeaps!!!! (and my boobs were VERY sore by the time i got home to her!!) she fed for ages when I got home! What a relief LOL cos she didnt want much formula during the day.... DH tried feeding her but she wasnt interested!!!! So she was rather hungry by the time I got home.

Anyway off to find something to eat - im hungry!! xx

    Hi babyQ

DG-Ouchy! Yeah I didnt even think about teeth when breast feeding (as my booby juice is long gone lol) Kind of good in a way I guess with all the teeth he has! Hope your little one doesnt chomp to hard on you

Shanti-Sounds like Ava is just like Caiden atm. He is sitting unassited for a few minutes also...but still not confident leaving him that way..always has the pillows to fall on! Caiden is also eating 3 times a day-his weekly favourite is cauliflower. He loves it! As for making soap..that sounds like enourmous fun!! I used to make bath bombs back in the day..they were very cool!

LS-How was your return to work?? Hope it hasnt been too painful away from your kiddes

As for caiden and I all is well. He is still very wingy during the days and nights as his 6 teeth are shooting up. All broken through the gum but still growing. He has a very cute toothy grin and has started chewing his food-even though he doesnt need to lol..still not crawling but still SO close. Sit's up on his hands and knees and rocks back and forwards for about 10mins..moves his knee forward and then belly flops to the ground! So close but not yet!
I finally have a car aswell! YAY My MIL gave me her old one (shes an angel) so Caiden and I can finally leave this place! Oh the things we will do..the list is endless.

Hope you are all well...kisses for you and your bubbys.

We are doing 3 meals a day now and all is going well.... she loves her food. Especially her yoghurt and fruits!!!
Yesterday marked a special day for Ava! She has been practising sitting up for a few weeks now and officially began yesterday sitting up on her own for longer than a few minutes!!! And today, i plonked her down and she sat up for 30mins!!! So she is officially sitting up now yay!!!! so proud of her. she's not big on the rolling so this is a huge thing!

Welcome Baby Q!! Congratulations on successful breastfeeding. We have a nice mix of breastfeeding/bottlefeeding mums in here so there is lots of positive support either way. I myself bottle feed. Look forward to learning more about you and bub.

Shanti: Sounds like Ava is doing a great job with her solids and YEY for her sitting all on her own!! DS is still on mushy foods 2-3 times a day but still prefers his milk. I did have DD on more solid food by this stage but DS seems to just swallow/guzzle without any gumming etc. He'll get there lol! Maybe when he gets some teeth hehe! Anyway, always have a giggle when you post about new nappies......how many do you have?

Caidens: OMG about Caiden's teeth!! That is sooooo many. No wonder he hasn't been a happy chappy. DS is going to cut one any day now but it has been pretty much a non-event other than going off his food/milk and a little extra sleepy. I guess the bright side is that hopefully he will have all his teeth quite quickly and you can move onto the next phase lol! Bet you are taking plenty of toothy pics - how cute!!

Jo: Nice to see you pop in again. How is Caleb going? I don't have you on my facebook.....maybe one of other girls could suggest me as a friend??

Dis: Thanks for asking after me re work. It has been quite a transition but I am doing it slowly. I did one day the first week, two the next and maybe three this week. My goal is to keep it a 3 maybe 4 days a week until the kids go to school. It will just be hard for the rest of the year trying to co-ordinate childcare with casual work etc. They do spend some days with my mum which is good. Next year I will return as part-time and will have consistent days so there will be no juggling act. The kids are coping really well....just tiring trying to work, be a good mum, keep house etc all at the same time. Bummer about Ben being allergic to penicillan (sp) AB's....that's going to make things hard. Did you find a daycare that you like yet?? It has taken DD 12 months to really enjoy going and now she doesn't want to come home. Took a while but I feel happy and relaxed when I send her to CC now. I can now leave without tears!!

Ella: I LOVE looking at the pics of DD on facebook. She is just sooooo gorgeous and has a gorgeous head of hair. You probably hear that a lot though hehe.

AFM: Nothing new happening here other than Dash starting Daycare once a week. The centre commented that they have not once seen a baby settle without crying or caring that Mum has left. I'm sure that is great for DS and for them but to be honest I felt a little lost and uncared for hehe. Then again, it is just as awful when they do cry when you leave so I can't win really lol!! He didn't even really care that I came back to get him. He did all the right things and self-settled etc. etc. I just can't get over how 'easy' he is...for now anyway. I am predicting he will be a quiet but sneaky kid. I also think he will be a fussy eater too.....only time will tell. I'm sure he will be very active and into everything (cos he is now).

DS is starting to be brave and let go of furniture OMG!! Sometimes he gets the odd step in before falling in a heap on the ground, only to get up and do it all again lol!! I am not ready for this but have no choice. It is exhausting trying to keep track of him and we have many accidents when he falls when walking around the furniture. I have also found him a couple of times choking on things which is very scary. HE IS NOW IN SIZE 1!!!! What a big boy!!

    Chat soon,

Lucky - Wow I can't believe Dash is taking the odd step! Max isn't interested in even trying to stand, even when I'm holding on to him. Just bends his knees... Oh well.

Shanti - How did your fathers day 'experience' go? What did you do? My DH got to go to the footy - without DS. Gee I'm a nice wife!!! I did make him get up earlier than usual though so he got to spend a bit of time with DS in the morning.

Caidens - Wow, 6 teeth all at once! Max has got his first 2 bottom ones and that's all so far. I'm not looking forward to the top ones coming as I've heard the biting while BF can get much worse

AFM we had a bad couple of days at the end of last week - Max had a high temp and just wasn't himself. He cried pretty much all day on Fri and didn't sleep well Thurs or Fri night. I actually slept him in our bed for most of the night on Fri - first time ever! Thank goodness he was pretty much back to his usual sunny self by Saturday though. It's so hard seeing them not well - especially when you don't know what is wrong. I had taken him to the doc on Thurs, but he oculdn't find anything. I thought in the end maybe it was teething, but no sign of any more just yet.

Other than that, well Max is sitting really well. I usually still put a cushion behind him cos he sometimes throws himself backwards for fun, but he doens't really overbalance anymore. He can roll tummy to back (but not the other way) but isn't really interested since the first week when he did it all the time. Still sleepign really well during the day, which is great for me! And has been sleeping through the night for a few weeks now, which is even better! He is also saying 'buba' and I think maybe last night said 'muma'. I think he will buck the trend and say mum before dad though as his sounds are more like mum than dad.

Anyway, better go wake him up. I know - never wake a sleeping baby! But he's been asleep for nearly 2 hours now adn I don't really like him to go too far past 11 with his morning sleep. Then we're out and about before getting home by 2 for his afternoon sleep

Hi ladies, we had a lovely fathers day here, Caleb and Daddy spent the morning in bed together playing while i cooked up a feast for breakfast. Caleb gave DH his present which was a painting from him and the cat and some Homer Simpson slippers.

Caleb is soooo close to crawling, he gets on all fours and rocks back and forth for a bit but mainly he just pushes backwards until he gets to where he wants to be and then turns around. Very cute. He much prefers just sitting up and playing though. He sat by himself for the first time on the day he turned 6 months old and we just watched for like half an hour waiting for him to topple over but he never did hahaha, now he pulls himself up to me.

Naps are becoming interesting due to him pulling himself up in teh cot.... ugh! and i think he is teething again. He has his bottom two teeth already and i am pretty sure i feel and see the third next to it. He has a temp as well so i dont know.

Caleb now has two naps a day 1.5 hours each and still sleeps a solid 12 hours at night. We are currently trying for Number 2!!! very exciting, we have only just started trying so who knows how long it will take.

Gypsy -sounds like your little guy was teething, glad he is feeling better now though!!!

Luckystar - if you can tell me who from here is on your FB friends list i might be able to find you, i have Shanti and Caidens mummy on mine.

well im off to watch a DVD. catch up wiht you all later

    Hello lovely ladies,

Jo-Nice to see you back on here! I kept meaning to ask if you still come on or not Cant wait to here your pregnancy announcement when that time comes! So excited for you and hubby!

Gypsy-Caiden also likes to throw himself back for fun when sitting...he will happily sit for 40mins or more now...but I also usually have pillows behind he likes to throw back and giggle lol..ahh the days of easily amused

Shanti: So great to see you on Facebook!! And thanks for your comments re. Caiden. Your little Ava looks so much like you! What a happy baby she is and I simply must ask.what was the "experience" your hubby got on fathers day! You have me all intrigued hehe

As for me, all is going great. We found a place back on the central coast (where I grew up) and we move in three weeks. Then our fiji trip is a week after that! Perfect timing as usual haha...poor Caiden isn't going to know himself for a few weeks. New house and then over-seas trip..ah nothing cuddles and kisses can't fix! Caiden is still teasing us with the crawling. He sits on his hands and knees...moves the right knee forward, then the left one, then the right and belly flop!! Lol..but its progress none the less! His favourite thing to do is stand up on his tippy toes and his hands..kinda of like a big push up! He would certainly prefer to walk then crawl I rekon..He is crawling backwards now and I have to train myself to be extra extra cautious. He was playing with toys on the floor and I went onto the balcony to talk to mum on phone..I can see caiden perfectly from the balcony..i turned around for 1 min and he was out of site! Ended up finding his daddys X-box controller and wanted a nibble lol Joyful =]

Quick question has anyone has any experience with Fernergan?? (have no idea how to spell it?) I am thinking of using it for the flight to fiji has I imagine the air pressure would be very painful on little ears?? Just interested to see anyones experiences/advice.

Well time for Caidens morning Nap. Glad to see you and your bubs are doing wonderfully!!

    Much love x.x
