HEY EVERYONE!!!!!!!! I'm back!!!!!
Thank you AJC for posting and letting girls know about us and thank you for the support girls!!!!
I have been MIA for nearly a week now..... we were in hospital Tues night as I was going insane with poor Ava's screaming & crying in pain all day long, she wouldn't sleep and wasn't even eating properly and would fuss at the breast. So it was hard.... Tues i was exhausted and we went to hospital and Dr admitted us overnight so we could see the Paediatrician the next morning regarding possible silent reflux.
She was treated for it as they suspected it was that (like we did) and the next day she was a different baby!! Finally sleeping during the days now too so I actually get a break and rest if i need to.... whereas before I was living off 3-4hrs sleep a night and no sleep during the day!! She sleeps OK during the night thankfully.
So it's been very HARD for us with a reflux bub but we are getting there..... she's on medication & also like gripe water but it's called "Mariners Infant Mixture" and its homeopathic and working great for her.
BF'ing is still very painful on one sidebut I'm persisting.... it's been tough!! We had to give her top ups of formula last two nights just to get her to sleep however as she isn't feeding effectively on one side I think it's due to her silent reflux. I have since been told it can be challenging enough alone BFing let alone with a reflux baby. Feeding for them can be painful.... so its a huge learning curve at the moment on top of everything else *sighs*.
Anyway, noooo chance of catching up with you all as it's been pages and pages. Just wanted to touch base and let you all know we are still around and Ava and I are doing well besides a few hiccups along the way!!
Hope you're all keeping well. Hope to post more often now that Ava sleeps throughout the days![]()
Ava sleeping = more time for me!!
eta - nappies - we are using Huggies newborn (they are still huge on her!!) and have some Aldi newborns aswell to use.... they are meant to be great. And in 2 weeks time we are going to start using our MCN's. She's just so small at this stage and they are huge on her!!
