Hi everyone, have not been on in a while as sharing the one computer with DH and he takes it during the day and at night I am too tired. Have been keeping up with you all via the posts going to my email.

I just read the email from yesterday and it was funny as you were talking about dummy use and I had only minutes before decided to give Emily another try with it as she is having trouble settling. Runner: We were talking at mothers group today about dummies and they suggested that we use the dummy until they fall asleep and then take it away (to save the dummy fallling out leading to crying situation). Emily used to always spit it out and gag but with a little persistence she took it tonight (but has just spat it out and started crying again -DH currently trying to get it back in). We figure if it helps to settle her then it is worth a try but if she does not like it better for us. Oh and they also said at mothers group that as soon as they start playing with it (taking it out by themselves..it is time to take it away completely) not sure how that would go but something to consider when the time comes.

We are going pretty well with Emily she only wakes once at night for a feed and breastfeeding has gotten easier and easier. Settling can sometimes be really hard and we have been cuddling and rocking her but are thnking we want her to learn to self settle so now trying a few things now that we have adjusted to life with a baby.

Sorry for no personals but will try to get back in more often.
