    Hi ladies

Serena I had the same concerns with bleeding which ironically seems to have almost disappeared now and was told to just be aware of clots and or smell. Other than that can be quite normal to bleed for 6 weeks in varying degrees of heaviness. Yay Belle and the 3 hourly feeds...clever girl!

Kim glad the midwife is happy with you both. Ruby has slight jaundice as well..can still see it in the whites of her eyes, but it didnt really affect her other than that. I can remember with Sammy having it he was just so sleepy and wouldnt wake to feed. Glad Chelsea and Jasmine love their little brother so much. Is it weird saying son/brother??LOL

Deb glad your first night home went well. Hope little Harley doesnt mind his heel***** test too much poor darling. At our hossy it was lovely as they encourage mums to feed bubs while they do the test so its not as stressful for them which was nice.

Jodie glad little Harmony Grace is settling in so well to your family.

Amanda glad JD is going well. He certainly sleeps well!

Weve had a gorgeous day. Princess Ruby has been so patient with us taking piccies of her in varying poses ..poor darling. Shes sleeping soundly in her little cocoon chair now..its so snuggly. Little else to report...all is good!

morning girls, has anyone noticed their little ones dried up cord bit is starting to fall off or bleed a little. Poor JD's stump started bleeding a little the other day just a bit on his singlet. Its not swollen or pussy or smelly just looks like its going to fall off soon. I guess it happens soon doesn't it?

It was my night shift last night. He is usually a little cranky come 5-7ish but last night he was great so I had a small glass of wine with dinner and a warm bath while he slept. DH did the 11ish feed and I woke to do the 3.30 feed (by then I assumed my breast milk would be free from the wine as it was 9 hours ago that I had it) he took the boob and gutzed down for 20 minutes before falling completely asleep. I thought yeah this is good 20 min and were done. But dumb me put him in his cot and put his dummy in his mouth and 30 minutes later he was complaining cause it fell out and was cranky and wouldn't settle! So I heated up a bit of formula and he drank 50 ml before crashing again. So by this time it was just after 4am. I put him back to sleep WITHOUT his dummy and he didn't wake till about 8.30 am. He had a wet nappy otherwise I would assume he would have slept longer as he loves his sleep ins in the morning. Now a quick 20 minute bob feed while laying in bed with me he is now sound asleep in his pram (bassinett) and probably will be till lunch time or a wet nappy wakes him up. I think we are doing ok. Certainly happy that he gets more than 2-3 hours between feeds though!

Anyway, might go have my shower and clean myself up a bit I look a fright I am sure! Also got to pump the right boob before it explodes everywhere!

Had the night from hell, both Noah and Xavier, I am supposed to go to my mums group bbq but not sure I am up for it now.

Xaviers umbilicus fell off by day 6, so really quick. It is normal to have a little blood, not a lot and the pussy looking stuff is normal too in small amounts. The belly button is a open wound for the first 3 days of life and needs to heal like any cut.

Well I am going to grab a shower, what I would do without Juz here is beyond me!

Puppies Belle's bled a little bit before falling off on day 6 and it is still a little bloody/weepy now so I wouldn't be too worried about it. Your night sounds so lovely bath and glass of wine how totally lovely.

LMS sorry to hear your had a such a bad night. Hope you can fit in a nap today so your feeling better.

Belle is still on 3 hourly feeds, but was unsettled last night. Not a terrible night though. What's everyone's thought's on comping? I started comping my son when he was about 1 month old (just for the night feeds), but I am unsure if I am going to do it with Belle or not.

Puppies like the girls have said its quite normal for the cord to bleed a little. As long as you are cleaning it best you can, it will dry and fall off on its own. Ruby's is still on as her umbilical cord was quite thick but its just about off. The bath and wine sounds lovely! I plan on having the same next week. We have the girls going to stay with Granma for a few nights so we will just have Sammy and Ruby so thought it might be nice to chill and relax a bit.

LMS sorry you had such a crappy night. Hope today is better and you make it to your mums group.

Seena do you mean formula comps? I personally would be reluctant to introduce and have never done so just because it interferes with the milk supply demand that we are setting up for baby now, and I dont use formula ever, but thats just me. You have to do what is right for you.

Miss Ruby is loving the sling. I stripped her off just to her nappy last night and she just loved it outside looking at everything while i was pottering around in the garden and the kids were on the trampoline..,its so sweet. She also had her first bath with Sammy and Livvy which they thought was just lovely!

    Hi Everyone.....
I'm finally here....sorry it has taken me so long to post.

Isabella is doing great. Came home from the hospital on Monday and she has settled right in at home....sleeping in 4 hour blocks and sometimes I get a 5 hr sleep.

This is my first baby so it defiantly a adjustment. I have never spent so much time in the house!

She seem to have a bit of a unsettled period around 7/8pm but from the sounds of things, its quite normal.

Question- When did you start taking your babies out. I mean to the local shops etc. She is only 10 days old so is it too soon?

I'm glad everyones baby's are going well. Isabella's cord fell off on day 6.
I had a natural birth but have stiches like most of you. Healing well but dtd is the last thing I'm thinking about.....

Heheh I took Xavier shopping the day after he was born, I realised I didn't have any socks or singlet suits for a newborn
