Good evening lovely ladies and the Bear!! oh and all the bubbas too.
Well the weekend was ok, I've already forgotten what we did, not much obviously. I'm sure that you are all finding that one day pretty much blurs into the next. I rarely have much idea what day it is, except that I use a diary to mark the times that I bf and what side I started on etc. Georgia is currently sitting on the couch with her daddy, and is awake like she is at this time every night, I still can't quite figure out why this is her preferred time to be awake, but at least both me and DH are home at this time to share her.
Tasia - hi there! I'm really glad for you that you are really loving the motherhood experience, and that Jonathan is doing so well.
Pink - good on you for perservering with the bf, it sounds like you have the patience of a saint. Keep putting her on, even if you dont think she is getting much cos the more she is on, the better your supply will become. apparently everytime you try to increase it (by feeding more regularly) it takes a few days to become a more permanent thing. Oh and the only other thing i can think of is try to keep drinking lots of water. that helps too. Sorry if you have had that advice a million times, I missed most of this thread so far so not sure what other conversations you have had about it.
Hi Pam - don't worry if you can't pop in much, just jump on when you can. even if it is just to give yourself a bit of sanity after walking Belle around all day. hang in there, she will sleep better eventually.
Taralee - wow 600grams is a lot to put on. he must have been having a growth spurt. and yes you are in the right group. we all had due dates of 15th to 31st of July, but some of the babes were impatient to get out, whilst a few others were way to comfy inside to greet the World within the timeframe. we had such a nice group though, that everyone has stuck together despite the actual birth dates.
Belle - lol about your cold hot chips. I'm really good, how are you?... besides the going in circles feeling.
Feeb - poor Jacob and poor you, you must be exhausted looking after him if he can't get any sleep. good on you for crashing on the couch with him. Sending you a big hug, and some get better vibes to J. I am sure he will be better soon, and you'll be able to get some more rest. Is your DH much help?
Hey Mez - I guess Izzy is just a social butterfly, you'll just have to take her out everyday so she gets some sleep. so how was the 1st birthday on the weekend? did the skirt fit her?
Hi Missy - bfing so no idea how much milk she is getting. it is a bit disconcerting sometimes cos you can only hope that your body is making what she needs. Also Georgia is only four weeks, but we are getting windy smiles, as well as some real smiles sometimes. she seems to like communicating on her change table so I get a few there, and she talks a bit there too which I love. She also follows our voices with her eyes and tonight DH was standing behind me talking, and then he moved and she turned her head all the way around to look at him as he walked away, and then followed him back as he walked towards her. such a simple thing but we were excited. I give her tummy time when I remember it, and she has a very strong neck already so I don't fuss too much if I forget. Also she doesn't always like it, so if she starts to cry I turn her back over.
Mel - yeah I do feel blessed with her. I'm glad you have had your mum with you. they are such a help aren't they? I hope you are feeling a bit better. How many more weeks til you have to go back to work?
I better not write anything else or I'm gonna take a whole page up. lol. but hi to everyone else I missed... Tan, Zee, the Pixie, Kristy, Tenny...
