I just came to find the thread cause it was out of my 100 threads on logging in - don't you hate that!

Not much other news here other than... actually nothing at all. Christmas is getting busy, the shops are crazy and Blake's sleeping is crappy again. I think it's teeth but he just isn't consolable. He's getting hysterical if I leave him to try and settle himself - gasping for breathe etc. So much fun!

Hi girls,
We had 40 degrees again yesterday and the spots seemed to spread a bit more over his body. We managed to avoid a fit! yay! I hope that was just a one off thing anyway and he won't get it again.
Today he seems a lot better. He isn't eating well though, which is a concern, but the temp is down. The spots don't look angry so they could be a heat rash or viral...

Kate - love the sound of Kelsey's sleeping! Wonderful!!!! Can she offer some kisses here too?? Good to hear Rylee is feeling better, she has a beautiful little smile.Bub in utero is easy..I hardly know its there except for the occassional tap tap tap. :-)

Rachel -Al is the same, I'm pretty sure its teeth too (on top of his other problems). When is it going to get better?????!!!!!!
Ahhhh. I'm pretty worried about having No. 2 sometimes as I just don't feel like I'm coping well with No. 1. Maybe Al will do a Kelsey and sleep better when the second bub comes along.

Ha ha ha...yes, I'm pregnant!! Apart from DH and the drs, you girls are the only ones that know yet. I am about 6 and a bit weeks along so far and just got the results back of my 3rd blood test. They are increasing nicely (bHCG: 7337 at 6 weeks, which is fantastic) and my GP and I have decided that I won't worry about having another blood test now as I have the ultrasound next week (Thursday).

Feeling tired and a bit queasy, but apart from that, nothing else. Due date is around the end of July 07...this will make my 2 almost exactly 2 years apart.

We are thinking of telling parents on Christmas day, but of course it all depends somewhat ont he result of the scan. I would really love to be closer to 12 weeks before I said anything, but you sometimes wonder how you can keep things like this away from your parents. Already my MIL thinks that there is something wrong with me as she knows I went for a blood test the other day. She didn't ask me, but asked DH on the side if I was ok. He he he.....he wanted to tell her there and then. but of course didn't. he just said that my sepcialist wanted me to have some tests done to see how my system was reacting to the drugs I have been on. Whilst not the truth, it wasn't exactly a lie either!! i would have said the same. he is a terrible liar, so he did well to come up with that off the top of his head!

Put the Xmas tree up tonight - no help from DH at all. He plays the role of scrooge so often, I'm not entirely sure that it is just an act. i just wish he would get into it a little. After all, he has much to be thankful for this Christmas.

We are having our staff party tomorrow night...of course it is going to be 38 degrees here tomorrow and 34 the next day, so I imagine it won't cool down much overnight. Ah well, we'll be outside......with the mozzies...

DH has been very busy organising crew to go over to the fires in Gippsland/North East. He can't go as he is needed here JIC (god forbid). We have our fire plan already worked out for the farm and home (Pup will go into town to mum's and I will deal with the cows and asset protection if need be). We have fire fighting tanks already strategically placed near the houses and the tractors are being left near the generator so we can get power to the dairy to run pumps over there if need be. We are praying that tomorrow passes with no activity in our region.

I just got word that I am going to be doing a reading at Christmas mass this year. I am quite chuffed! I am an RC and admittedly, lapsed in my church going for many years. However, since Pup has arrived, and then getting him Christened, I figured I should pull my finger out and start attending regularly. Now Pup is walking, he is a bit of a handful at mass as he doesn't want to sit still, but usually I go when mum goes, so there are two of us to run after him. Anyway, I've done a few readings at mass this year, and they obviously thought I was good enough for the main mass!!!! At least we will be guarranteed a seat (unlike last year when we were sitting ont he floor of the foyer!)

That's about it for me. Time for bed.

Hay, it is a worry with all these fires. DH is on a strike team ( lots of lovely OT - but no DH for the weekend) he called not long ago and is in Bairnsdale. conditions not as bad as predicted PHEW. It must be hard not to tell. we told straight away with all my pg's, but have never lost a bubs so dont know how I would be if I did. congrats about the reading for mass, you'll do well I am sure

Deb, glad you managed to avoid a fit, but bummer about being sick in the first place, hope its just viral and he's better quickly for you.

Kate, yep gorgeous smiling photo, glad the reflux is getting more controlled, and Kelsey sounds like she's being a fabulous girl for mum and dad.

we went to the pool this morning for a cool off, has been a funny day as we had to drive DH into work at 5am, so the littlies were asleep again by 7. Dion bit a hole in his swim ring when he got p***ed off and chucked a tanty, so will have to buy a new one :eek:
we have carols by candlelight here tomorrow, hope the weather holds out.

Hay - I am thinking of you there, I hope you are safe and those fires keep away from your area. Congrats again about the growing bubby inside. Very exciting!

Vanita - the rash and fever went after a few days. Bit of a mystery really. But I guess we can expect more of the same while he's adjusting to life in a day care. We are definately getting new teeth here too, they are coming out painfully slow. LOL at Dion biting a hole in his swimming ring - I bet it felt good for him though! Bring on the next one mum!

Just heard from DH and his team are earmarked for asset protection. Bummer, would prefer they were blacking out or back burning ( both away from actual fire front - and danger) but if the winds pick up tomorrow it will be them standing in front of the fire, trying to stop it burning down the town. Oh well will not think of it too hard otherwise will go nuts.....

update from me, have only heard from DH this morning and he was being sent to Dargo. with this weather things arent looking good, have been feeling "antsy" all day, keep looking at the phone waiting to hear from him, Im sure he will be safe, just wish I knew...

Hi Everyone, just popping my head in. MIL and FIL have gone home SIL is still here until the 16th, so I hope to be around more then. I am reading and will try to catch up then.

Ugh, fire issues have been very ugly around our place the past couple of days. These are the fires at Pirron Yallock/Stoney Rises (I think the media may be calling them Camperdown, but they are a lot closer to us than Camperdown). DH was the incident controller all yesterday (got home at 2am) and then the damn things flared up again and he was out all day today. Jusdt got home. Like Vanita, I hate it when he goes, but what can you do. Unfortunately Vanita, DH gets no O/T...he's a volunteer :frown: - although our Ops Manager told him today that he would double his wage (cheeky bugger). The problem with DH is that he is one of only a handful in our region that is qualified to "run" a big fire, so he gets called out quite a bit. There's been a few houses lost and I think about 800ha burnt out.

We are off to Melbourne on Wednesday for our anniversary. We are staying at the Windsor for a couple of nights (as we do every year). I am having my ultrasound on Thursday, so fingers crossed for me. Nothing to suggest that anythign is wrong, but nothing is 100% guarranteed in this world hey?

It is supposed to be a sh*t day on Wed and Thurs fire wise, so comforting thoughts to Vanita and anyone else that has to go out to the red stuff. At least my DH will be with me on hard cement for those days!!

Hay, Dh and I were both vols once, and my dad has made me a cfa orphan from day one ( he's probably going up on tuesday) Dh has only been a paid boy for 3 yrs, so the sydney fires he went to free.

My DH went to the Sydney fires too. I'm also in CFA, but have not been very active since Pup came along. The last training session I went to was 2 days before Pup was born! However, we have the radio link at out house and it is on 24hrs a day and I get to man it too often!

Last Christmas, we hadn't even served up Christmas lunch and our pagers went off and DH had to go to a fire. Didn't see him all day.

Kate - Al's favourite things are cars and dinosaurs. We found a box of dinosaurs at a garage sale and he loves emptying it out and playing with them. Of course, he also loves the computer! And the musical keyboard...and he showed me a little toy at day care yesterday that made animal noises, he thought that was pretty cool.
Oh and he loves peekaboo type books - where he has to lift a flap or whatever and there is something underneath.

ETA: given its summer there - you could go crazy with swimming toys/accessories...etc goggles, swim ring, water wheels, watering cans, sand pit type stuff...

Hi girls, just a quicky from me, I feel like Im only ever just "popping in" instead of hanging about for a bit, but its late, 10.44pm actually.

Just wanted to say Vanita and Hay, hope the fires subside real quick and DH's don't have to be out in it any more. Good on them for volunteering, its such a noble thing for them to do....

Ok, Coby loves cars and trucks, real boy stuff IYKWIM. He is also really enjoying pointing to things in his books and on a Dora alphabet chart that I have stuck on his wall, I ask him where "the bike" is and he can point straight to that or anything else that I ask him to. Other than that, anything that makes noise and moves. I recently got Coby some of those cars that you pull back and let go of, you know, and then they zip along the floor, he absolutely LOVES them, because they go so quickly on their own, and also we have small wind up aeroplanes that do backflips (on the floor) and a monkey that does backflips too, he loves them and they aren't too expensive, so you can buy a few to make up a nice pressie....Hope this helps

Coby and I are going well, he's growing and changing daily. Each day he gets up I think he is so much more grown up than yesterday, its amazing. He finally has more teeth, two molars and one tooth down the bottom at the front, next to the two bottom front teeth.

My acupuncture is going well, it looks like my cycle is getting "normal" for the first time in my life, but I will reserve that comment until I see how I go this month cycle wise. I'll just be happy to get a period on the right date

Anyway must go, very tired after working all night on invoicing for DH's company, yay!!

Kate- Jonah loves cars and blocks. His Christmas present from Ben's parents was a bus that you can put blocks onto, kind of like large lego iykwim? And he loves them.
