Hope you are all doing well. Diana is currently sleeping, so I am using this time to get on and post. I can read the threads while holding her, but typing with one hand is just no fun, so taking advantage of having two free hands now...
Diana is doing really well. She is seven weeks old yesterday and at her 6 week weigh-in she weighed 3950g. She is about 54cm long (hard to measure as she is so squirmy lol). She is still in 0000 clothes, but I am thinking it will be time for the 000s soon. I am looking forward to that as there seems to be a better range of bigger baby clothes. Although I am really enjoying her now that she is still tiny. She is so cute. I posted some new pictures up recently.
In terms of feeding, I usually give her one breast, change her nappy and put her on the potty, then offer her the other breast. At the next feed I start with that breast, although recently I have bee kind of lazy and often start her on the left breast for consecutive feeds as she seems to prefer that one . Probably not good, eh?
Diana is getting really good at weeing into the potty, but not so much luck on the poo yet. Only once did she actually go into the potty. Usually her nappy is already full of poo by he time I take it off. (LOL - what a topic of conversation. )
Hugs to all you ladies whose babies have wind problems. Diana thankfully hasn't had much wind, but yesterday I think she got it because she was constantly crying and squirming. She seemed to want to feed but would just bring everything back up . It was so hard seeing her so uncomfortable and not being able to help. I feel for all of you who get this on a regular basis. Hugs.
Flossie - good on you for continuing to extract breast milk. Are you using a manual or electric pump? I bought a manual pump off ebay for $31 and it is working really well for me. I extract every day as I work part time and I let DF do most of the night feeds. If you extract often maybe consider buying a pump. Mine was a really good purchase .
Jan - yes I did kind of miss being pregnant when Diana was first born (I am over it now). It's ironic as I didn't really enjoy being pregnant at all and was hoping that Diana would come early, but when she did, I felt kind of cheated that I didn't get those last few weeks of pregnancy . Ironically, I really liked shopping for clothes when I was pregnant. I felt so feminine, and if something didn't fit properly it didn't annoy me the way it usually does. Now that I am breastfeeding finding clothes that are comfortable, practical and stylish is a completely new challenge...
Rebecca - hope your bp goes down. Glad you are enjoying Xavier.
Kristy - I have already had the projectile poo experience with Diana twice. The first time she sprayed on a blanket, which fortunately was already yellow, so the stain doesn't show up too much. The second time she got my pyjamas, which I had to ut on to soak straight away. Today she managed to wee on my hand as I was holding her over the potty. Not sure how she managed that. .
Star - hope your DH gets better soon. Hugs. Good to hear that Amelie is doing so well.
Tracey - sorry to hear that Zyon having wind issues. Hugs. Hope he gets better soon and that you have a better night tonight.
Fran - good luck. Hope your little girl comes out soon!
