Difficult to keep up with this thread - especially when I don't get on here as often as I hoped. I keep forgetting that DH is working from home in the afternoons and by the time I get myself organised to come on here, he's on the computer. Must try to schedule in some time each day for this!
Good to hear that most babies are behaving themselves relatively well. Amelie is another chubba bubba!! She put on 400g in 4 days- cheeky monkey- the nurse was quite amazed - she is now 4750g, not too long before she hits the big 5kg mark (especially at the rate she's going!!). All the other checks were fine. Feeding her is a breeze - 10 min each side and we're done - only issue is she's greedy and sometimes chokes when she takes too much without breathing - very scary the first few times, but now that I know what to expect, I'm ok with it. Now if only she could sleep during the night as well as she feeds! Nurse told me to stop giving top up feeds to settle her during the night, as this is probably only making her tummy pains worse. We tried this last night, to some success- was awake for about 4 hours continually, so we'll see if we can do better tonight.
On the down side, DH has been ill, with a bladder problem. It turns out that it is probably stress related- our little girl is still keeping us up a lot at night with plenty of crying and that's what is stressing him out. The other night I found him crashed on the bathroom floor after feeling dizzy and almost fainting. Not very good- quite stressful for me as well as I also had to attend to crying baby at the same time. Was thinking we might need to take DH to hospital- but we managed and he stayed home on Monday and went to the doctor for urine tests. We'll find out the results today, hope all is ok with him.
