Hey Sasha, I'm glad you're here to chat to, it's been so quiet.

I'd be pretty happy to go back to just being at home, but given that Liam is settled I'm going to try very hard to get another job. If it takes more than 6 weeks then we might need to reassess our plans. Hard to know at this stage.

And yes, I have no real idea of what colour for the BM's dresses. I'm a real green girl, but I'm so green that it would be almost a cliche, plus DF is a die-hard Celtic supporter, so if I go with green then everyone will think that it's because of the whole Celtic thing. My plan is to decide when the girls try things on, and that way we'll probably make everyone happy. Part of the problem is also that one of my sisters is very fair, the other is more olive, so they tend to look better in different shades. But because I'm only having 2, for overall impact I would like them to be in the same colour, otherwise I think it will just look a little odd. DF has suggested that he might wear a kilt, which if he does decide that this is the way he wants to go then I could use the tartan he chooses as a basis for colour. Although knowing DF he won't decide until the last minute, which isn't much help for me. But I'm not really sure that he'll go through with it, I think he's only ever worn one once, might be too weird on top of all the other attention that we'll get for the day. Re the flowers, I'm keeping an open mind until I've spoken to the florist, mostly because I don't want to get my heart set on something that isn't available in August. My dream flower is probably peony roses, but I suspect that these won't be available that early, although there will be lots of bulbs, so maybe tulips. When I spoke to her in December she seemed quite excited about my options, so hopefully there will be a lot to choose from. I'm kind of leaning towards pink roses, cos I love them too, but it will also depend on the BM dress colour - so a bit of a circular argument at this point. I also love white flowers, so haven't ruled this out. When I officially book in my dress they give me a fabric swatch, so this will also help with working out flower schemes. One of the good things about an August wedding in Melbourne is that the flowers are extremely unlikely to wilt.

And wow - you had 6 BM's - that must have taken some serious co-ordinating. The organising is mostly fun though, especially when things start to come together.

I'm here too girls - just being a slacko and haven't had a chance to post. I just wanted to say hello and will try to come back monday to do a proper post. I am trying to get organised for the morning - have to leave at 7.30am to get down to the city to go with my sisters to the bridal expo. Tom didn't fall asleep for ages so I just know he will want to sleep in! Just my luck. I am so excited about hearing about all your wedding plans Jan. I have mentioned it before but I love love love weddings. I only had one bridesmaid - it was either 1 or 7 so I went the easy option. She wore a cream silk dress with coffee and gold pattern
on it and for our flowers when had coffee, cream and pale pink roses. Loved it. I had my heart set on lillies I think but weren't in season. Glad now because I loved the roses.

Sacha - I love the idea for DH's present. You are a good wife!

ooh, I had white tulips! With lots of leaf. And my BM had a kind of white/green tropical type situation going on with white lillies and the ones that look like vaginas (cringe...sorry, can't remember what they're called. Starts with 'a'..?)
Go Green! Go Green! There was a lot of green at our wedding because I had a rainforesty type theme. Do what you want - it's your day! (not even DF's, just yours LOL) I know what you mean about having two different colours, but how about two shades of the same colour (green!) to suit skin type? Green goes well with pink flowers too IMHO...ok, I'll shut up about the green.
As for the number of bridesmaids I had the same problem as Em - 1 or 6, and frankly, they were all equally as important to me so it was a no-brainer. Dan only had 2 groomsmen though. It wasn't a traditional type set-up but it worked well for us. I wanted to have all the girls'/guys' partners with them at the bridal table anyway, so no-one was outnumbered.
Let's talk food! What's the plan? (unless it's a secret, that's ok) And table decorations! Church or other? I am a real sticky beak. It just really is so much fun to organise things, even if living through someone else!

Em, mmmm, neapolitan flowers....mmmm. Love those three colours together. Have fun tomorrow. I went to one bridal expo and wasn't real impressed so never did another. Maybe because I already had what I wanted in my mind, now I think about it. Make sure you try all the free samples!

    Hi there girls!
Been pretty busy here, and I've never got anything constructive to add.
DH is much better now, I think he wants to back to work Full time next week, but his DR told him only 6 hours a day... we'll see. As long as he is fit and healthy for when bubs arrives!

Jan - CONGRATS on the dress!!! It's a huge releif when you get something as big as that sorted! I can't wait to see pics. How is all the planning coming along?

All this wedding chatter is bringing back memories! I loved planning mine. Would have liked more than 3 months to do it in, but we had a fab day. It still feels like yesterday!

As I said before, nothing exciting happens here. LOL We have Lachie's 18 mth appt with MCHN in a couple of weeks. He'll probably back the poor woman into a corner and blab her head off. LOL chatter box he is. I have noidea how much he weighs... he was only 10kgs at 12months, but he does seem like he's beefed up a little. He's still a bit of a runt though, and when you see Adam and I, it must look weird. LOL

The littlest one is continually kicking me in the groin. Just like her brother did. LOL
All seems to be going well though. Still have m/s, but I get a day off here and there. I have my AN appt the week after Lachie's MCHN appt, so we'll see how we go and when they are planning on th next round of scans.

Well, that's all I can muster.
Hi to everyone! I hope those kiddies are keeping you all on your toes!

    Have a great Sunday
    xxoo

you girls make me laugh. Just a little bit more wedding talk from me then...

Everything is at morning star estate, which is a winery on the Mornington Peninsula (google it if you like, has some nice piccies on their website). It seems like about 50% of all the Melbourne weddings take place there, so most of the Melbourne people have probably either been there or know someone who has. But it has an indoor chapel, which for August we thought might come in handy. If it turns out to be a gorgeous sunny day then we'll move the ceremony outside, but it's nice to have the option. Food stuff - still deciding on entrees, although one of them will probably a caramelized onion & goats cheese tart thingie, Mains will be your standard chicken/beef. DF doesn't like anything with bones in it, and we have some other fussy eaters so things like fish aren't really an option, so we're playing it safe. But will still be tasty. Desserts, haven't been able to decide yet because about 4 of the options sound yummy. Will probably steer away from the lemon tart & chocolate based thingie, just to be a bit more varied. Haven't decided about table decorations yet. Am hoping that I can visit them on a day when they're set up for a wedding, so that I can get a visual on what the place will look like, which will help me decide what to do. I think that I'll probably not spend much time/money on this aspect, because really, if people are judging my wedding on the table decorations, or lack thereof, then I really shouldn't be inviting them. And that's probably enough of the me me me talk, but don't worry, there'll be more in due course

Nicky - it's good that you get the occasional reprieve from the MS, I honestly don't know how you cope with it with a toddler. And love the idea of Lachie blabbing the head off your MCHN.

Sasha - we have had our 18 month jab, we did it early cos Liam was part of a vaccine trial for meningoccocal jabs. We had no reaction to it, which was good.

Em - how was the bridal expo?? I haven't been to one, I just always imagine them to be filled with bridezillas & the people that feed bridezillas, so they scare me a bit. But it must be good to have so much in one place.

Anyway, gotta go, some a-holes have just let off fire-crackers, & they've woken Liam up. grrrrrr

Ok I have already lost two big posts today so this is going to be an edited version in case it doesn't work!

Nicky - how is your belly going? I love looking at your facebook pics - you look great. Big claps to Lachie for sleeping in a big bed. Clever boy. No way would Tom do it yet. And I noticed the name in your sig... Love it! What a gorgeous choice.

Jan - I love Morning Star. One of my closest friends got married there and it was gorgeous. I posted in much more detail regarding her decorations for the reception in my lost posts, so will come back over the next few days to explain more. Bridal expo was a nightmare.. Lots of aggressive pushy women that had no regard for the fact I had a pram. Not even sure how much my sister gained from it. We just come home with piles of phamplets! Tom and I spent the last hour sitting in the car because he just got so overwhealmed by all the people. That was the best part of the day - he 'drove' for the whole hour and played with the radio and I layed on the backseat and read my book. Bliss! How is job hunting going?

Sacha - have you been in the paper yet? They obviously chose Autumn because she is gorgeous! Love the cubby idea - Tom has a tunnel which he loves but I think a cubby (and a trampoline) will be next on the list. The box from our new tv is getting a good work out by him anyway. We haven't done 18mth jabs yet - I keep forgetting to make the app but also I am a sooky lala and he is so much more aware of the pain!

Not going to type anymore in case this doesn't work. Where is everyone else? Are you having problems posting like me? This is turning into the Jan, Nicky, Sacha and Em thread!

    * edit* Yay! That took many pressing of the back button and answering of strange random questions. How weird..

Yey Nicky, how exciting for Lachie to be in a big boy bed - and sleeping well! That's great!

Jan, the winery looks gorgeous. Very lush and GREEN in the photos LOL I think it's a good idea not to have fish - I just think it's a really hard thing to get right when you're cooking it for a large group (and I don't like bones either) What about the cake? (Maybe a secret?)

Em - Oh hooray, you made it! Autie loves to 'drive' too. Dan puts her in his ute when he's got it parked in the backyard and she'll play happily for ages, the horn is her favourite, along with climbing the steering wheel. Not in the paper yet, but I did as Jan suggested and called the paper to get some copies of the pictures. They are sending me the proofs so I can choose, so that's nice. I think I will do the jab while Dan's home this week if I get around to it. He always holds her, then I get the comfort cuddles after. She didn't cry at all last time with the three though, so I'm crossing my fingers it will be ok this time too.

And yeah, where is everyone else?

It's been ages since I posted guys, I'm sorry. I have been ready though, just been really slack in my replies. Been a very busy last couple of months.

Firstly I wanted to wish Lis a very Happy Anniversary for tomorrow, I remember because you got married the day before us. Hope you have a great day.

All this wedding talk is great. I must ask for everyone's details again to add you to my facebook. Long story, but had to delete all my friends, and now have to start back up again. So if you wouldn't mind could you give me your name so I can search you back up or could you search me and add me as a friend, please - Melissa Murray. Thanks guys.

Jack had his needles couple of weeks ago, and all I can say is I'm so glad it's over for a couple of years now. He didn't cry much, but I hate it.

My doctor was amazed at his vocabulary, he can probably say 50+ words and can hold a conversation with you, it's basic but very cute. He is also a Thomas the Tank Engine whizz, she was gob smacked at this one, he can name and point to Thomas, Percy, Edward, Diesel, Gordan, Emily, James, Stantel, Harold the Helicopter and Fat Troller, it's amazing. If you point to Edward who is Blue like Thomas and say Thomas he says, noooooooooooooo Edward. Very clever.

But that's enough gloating by me.

Jan, when is the big day again?? I can't remember but it must be getting close, it's so exciting reading all about your plans. Brings back great memories.

Nicky, your doing a great job coping with the morning sickness and running around after an 18month old. And love the name choice. And good boy Lachie for sleeping in his Big Boy Bed, I'm sure he won't look back now. Jack loves his bed.

Em, I'm so paranoid about letting my kids play in the car, my nephew when he was 2 some how managed to take the parking brake off and roll his Dad's car into the side of the house, no damage to the house, but a few $100 in damage to the car But he a hewdini (sp?) so I'm sure most other kids are safe I hate crowds, especially when they are so rude when your using a pram/stroller, book and cheofer (sp?) sounds much better.

Sacha, I love the Avocado green colour, one of my 2 favs, I wanted the same colour but didn't have enough time to get dresses made, and I had a size 8 and a size 22, so it would have been perfect to pick the material and let them choose their styles, but had to go with a more minty green, as they found a style that they could get in their sizes. Oh well they still looked nice. Do you have pics of your wedding? Are they of Facebook? I would love to see.

So I must be off, I surposed to be doing invites for DH 40th birthday invites, they are already late.

    Talk again soon, I promise

Oh nice to hear from you Mel!
Wow, that is very clever of Jack to differentiate between Thomas and Edward, and to speak so well already. It's fine to gloat - aren't we all proud parents? It's nice to let it out now and then.
What have you got planned for DH's 40th?
Well, I AM on Facebook (Sacha Sheehy) but I never go on there I'm afraid I'll get carried away - I'm easily addicted, as I found out with my recent journey into MCNs LOL Plus, I don't really understand all the ins and outs of it. I will attempt to get on and work out how to put some photos up. I think we should ALL put wedding photos up. Who else is on Facebook?

soooo, if it's Lis' anniversary today - and Very Happy Anniversary to you Lis, then it must be Mel's Anniversary tomorrow - so Happy Anniversay to Mel

And wow for Jack & his Thomas expertise, what a clever, clever little man. At least you know what to buy him for presents for the next little while LOL. I love all the words that are starting to flow through, although we don't have nearly as many as Jack.

Nicky - what gorgeous name for your little girl. Is there a story behind it?? And cool for lachie's big boy bed - how did he go for his second night?

Em - your story about the Bridal expo makes me kind of glad I didn't go. Well, not that I even knew it was on, but if I had known I probably wouldn't have gone anyway. Isn't it bizarre how the sniff of a wedding can make some people got just completely crazy.

Sacha - I've invited you as a facebook friend I think = I'm a bit of a FB novice, so it mightn't have worked. Mel - I tried to find you but there are a lot of MM's, so might be easier if you find me (if you want to that is , look under Jan Skelton. And anyone else on here for that matter, that would be cool.

Well, day 2 of the official job hunting process, and I have to say I reaallly dislike it. I'm so bad at finding jobs, I find it really difficult to do the "upsell". Which is crazy, because I'm really good at helping other people. But it is only day 2, so trying to stay on an even-keel with it.

Liam has developed an obsession with phones - EVERYTHING can be a phone, it gets picked up & put to his ear & he says "Hiya'', then does a really fake laugh, then says "Bye Bye" & hangs up. It's hysterical. We have his 18month MCHN appointment tomorrow, which I'm really looking forward to cos I want to see how much he weighs & how tall he is. Not cos I'm expecting anything unusual, I'm expecting him to be mr 50 percentile kid, but just cos I'm curious.

Anyway, enough from me - going to see if it's cooler than 300 degress outside so that I can open the house up a bit.

    Hi there lovelies!
How are we all handling this heat? It's horrible here, well over 42 degrees and my a/c is really working overtime. Who's idea was this whole being pregnant over summer thing. LOL Should have thought about that one a bit better. haha

Em belly is going well! I think there's been a little growth lately, but not tonnes, which I should be happy about! hehe. I am getting lots of jabs all the time in the groin.

Hi Mel! Good to see you. Wow at jack's Thomas knowledge. Lachie is also Thomas obsessed but hasn't yet mastered the names. He can nearly say Thomas but he can hum the original theme song with me. hehe SO cute.

Sacha I am on facebook too... have been for a while.
Nicky James, if anyone wants to add me ( pic of me and hubby). How are the MCN's going?

Jan good luck with the job hunting! I remember being unemployed for not quite 2 weeks at one stage, and I was having a massive melt down thinking noone would want me! hehe. Of course, there was nothing to worry about, but my mind tends to tick over in funny ways.
Lachie has the same phone obsession as well, picking everything up and putting it to his ears. It's so funny. He won't say Hi or Bye though. He doesn't like talking on the phone much. All the best for your Appt tomorrow

Not alot happening here.... Hopefully in this heat all my excess fat is melting away. LOL That combined with m/s has got to be a winner right??

Oh and thanks heaps for all of your lovely comments on the name we have chosen for our little one. It was actually going to be for Lachie if he was a girl too. It's a name that popped into my head the night before I tested with my very first pregnancy back in July 06. Unfortunately, that pregnancy didn't continue, but I have always kept the name Allira just in case. Never thought I would get to use it. We had been tossing up other names before our morph scan this time around and I wasn't convinced I was going to use it this time, but when the sonographer told me I was having a girl, Allira came straight into my head.

Just a quick question. Do your kids mind the heat? It tends to make Lachie quite uncomfy and a little on the feral side a times. I find his temper is alot shorter (haha so is mine!!), and he's actually quite clingy, which I can't stand when I am sweating away.

Hope you are all surviving well.

    xxoo

Nicky - a quick answer to your quick question - Liam isn't bad in the heat, although today & the other really hot day we had he was in daycare, in airconditioned comfort. He does seem to get a bit tetchier, and his eczema flares up a bit, although it's hard to know if this is not also brought on by a bit of teething that's also going on. And he drinks water like it's going out of fashion, starting to make me wonder about diabetes, although I'm pretty happy that he's so keen to drink the stuff, it's a healthy way to be.

Wow, I'm really over having problems getting on here all the time

Jan, I'm a complete FB rookie and I don't mind admitting that it's a bit confusing for me atm - all these people's pictures popping up, friends of friends of friends...etc. But, hooray! where I once had no friends, I now have 5! I guess making it known that you're actually on there helps... LOL

Strangely, I cannot look at the word 'friends' atm and not see it as really weird looking. Like when you say a word over and over, and it loses all meaning.

Nicky, I added you as a friend. Now I have 6! Ha Ha somebody sssstop me! You poor thing being preggers in that kind of heat! Autie seems to handle heat ok, except for being a little less energetic maybe, and a bit more eczema.
I am really enjoying the MCNs, even the washing! (especially the bit where they're all clean and fresh off the line) I have tried some different brands but am in LOVE with Ittis. Now if only I could get proficient at Little Squirt use...

Em, do you have wedding pics up? I'm still trying to work my way through everyone's photos. Am I weird in finding it a little strange that you can see what everyone else is writing when you don't even know the people? Or is that the whole FB thing? Or is there somewhere that you can send private messages?

Well, anyway, it's nice to have a face for some of you guys now. Not everyone was as I pictured. Raels, I had you with short, black hair for some reason LOL (Even after seeing Oliver's photo! ) Loved the photos of him fishing btw, he is really concentrating huh? I bet he's a busy little boy - he has that look of always being on a mission.

I can't remember if I told this already and I can't be bothered going back over posts so forgive me if I did. I think I've mentioned how obsessed Autie is with balls. The other night she was up later than usual and the blind was open. She was just watching tv, nearly asleep when she noticed the full moon out the window. Well, you've never seen someone so excited - pulls me to the window pointing and saying 'ball! ball!' It was a cute moment and I keep remembering it with a big smile.
