The day hasn't been overly exciting so far.. We don't do presents in the morning - DH leaves for work at 6.45am and apparently I am not a morning person so we do them at night time. I sang happy birthday to myself this morning for Tom - he thinks it's for him and goes all coy, head tucked into him shoulder like "For me? Why thankyou, aren't I special". We had T's first swimming lesson this morning - didn't go overly well . We were naturally running late so I kind of got there, stripped him off, got in the pool and started the lesson a minute later, so he was a bit shell shocked and cried through most of the activities. We hung around after the lesson and he was much better, so I think next week I'll get there early and ease him into it!
Sarah - I am the same as you. I can't turn off the telly. I was watching the news last night and DH could hear me sobbing from the bedroom. He came in to give me a cuddle, and I went a bit pyscho because of the intrusive news coverage. Clearly not his fault but I didn't have a channel 9 reporter in front of me to yell at about getting into people's faces while they are shell shocked and grieving. It's amazing that your nan and pa survived. Just amazing. It must of been so scary for them.
My sister has contacted the RedCross to offer their spare rooms if they are needed and my other sister is donating blood, so I think I might go with her. I have never done it before but can't be that bad - I think I conquered my fear of needles when I was pregnant. Every other week was another needle. We have donated money but I would like to donate some baby things too. Coles is having a day on Friday where they will be donating all the profits to the fund, so I think I might go in and buy some formula and nappies and wipes etc and donate them to the R/Cross. It is just horrible.
Was your MCHN serious when she said the fatten up Bailey? If he's eating well, maybe he's just going to be a lean kid. He sounds like a ball of energy anyway. I should write doen Tom's words - the latest is Truck.. which we all know doesn't come out with a T, he says it with a F.. Or should I say screams it.

Nicky - poor you with your morning sickness. I completely understand. Being pg for me was torture sometimes, and you try so hard to enjoy it. Poor thing. Did you hear from Becc at all?
