    Hi everyone

We've had a fairly busy weekend. I went shopping yesterday with Diana and my sister. It was lots of fun as its been ages since I've had a chance to do anything like that. It was going to be an expedition to get clothes for Diana (and she got lots - will post the pictures in the next day or so), but I ended up getting some new shoes for myself too. Yay. I also bought Diana a swimming costume and a hat, and also ordered her christening dress. (So have no money left until payday, lol.) My sister bought Diana a pretty dress that she can wear for my wedding later on this year (she's going to be flower girl - if she can hold a flower in her hand by then that is, lol). Diana didn't sleep much during the day or during the night last night either. I think she woke up for about two or three feeds.

Today the weather was really nice, so Stan and Diana and I went for a long walk around our neighbourhood. And this evening I got some good work done on my assignment. So I'm really tired now. (And I just realised that I have done no housework this weekend, other than the laundry. Oh well, never mind. )

Jemima - hope your tonsilitis gets better soon.

Veronica - yay on choosing a wedding dress! How exciting. I am getting married in November, but as its my second time, it's only going to be a very small affair. So hopefully I won't steal your thunder when you post all your exciting wedding preparation news here.

Jessikah - hugs :hugs: Hope things get better for you soon. It's great to hear that Ethan is smiling, isn't it? They're so cute when they start to do that. And I know what you mean about him being camera shy. Diana is like that too and always pulls funny little faces rather than giving big smiles.

Tracey - have fun on your trip.

Mel - glad to hear that Jack is better. Hope your open house went well.

Hi to everyone else. Hope you all had a great weekend.

Nicki, yay that feeding is going better now. I hope it continues to get better for you.
Have you got anyone that you can call when your having a stress day.

Let me know I'll give you my mob number if you want. Not that I can get anywhere with any sort of speed, not driving at all lol. Sometimes its just nice to know there is some one around.

    Hi All,
No news here, except that the gown is going really well, but the overlocker broke the other day . not sure what happened one minute it was fine and the next, its not sewing will have a look at it when I am not so tired.

Am reading your news regularly, but nothing to report.

Except I have been having big let downs of late- I am not sure if they have got stronger or me just noticing them more.

Well off to bed, my grand plans of folding, ironing dusting and vaccuming didnt go to well today- all I got done was the folding
Iam planing on getting up early tomorrow to get dusting and vaccuming done after Kaetlyns first feed cause she always goes back to her cot for another sleep. Watch now that I said that she will stay awake tomorrow morning, which is a bummer cause I have some friends from work coming over for morning tea.

I am really tired now so will get to bed- I seem to be addicted to smilies tonight - opps this morning

Goodnight all....will do some personals tomorrow sometime

Tears ~ How are you? Are you ok? :hugs: It must be so hard for you having DH working away it sounds like you are doing a great job. Being a new mum can be overwhelming at times and it would be hard not to have that back up when you need it. Good on you for discussing things at your checkup. How is Ethan, and how is he going with his feeds now?

Now that Alessia is down for the morning (hopefully!) I'll attempt some personals.

Sara That photo of Kaetlyn is so cute!!! I've mostly got Alessia dressed in Bonds suits so I'm looking forward to when she grows a little more so she can wear 'proper' clothes. Hope you enjoy your morning tea

Bridee I hope Georgie is going well with the brace. You sound like you're coping really well which is excellent *hugs*

Rebecca Just replying to your question about bathing babies - we generally try to give Alessia a bath everyday, but sometimes it just doesn't work out that way! We were told every second day is fine by the hospital - I like to give Alessia her bath at night time to help calm her for her evening sleep. Well done for Xavier sleeping so well!

oops little one has woken - argh! Will be back later to finish

Well Kaetlyn managed to stay alseep which was great. I had vaccumed, done somewashing and majoirty of the ironing before I had to wake her for a feed
Morning tea was nice, altough when you are home all day by yourself, an hour visit just flys by and its upsetting when they leave- its like they just arrived. They brought more pressies, which was nice!

I washed all of Kaetlyns summer clothes this morning. I hadnt washed them as I wanted to make sure she would grow to fit it to them, and it seems that she will there are some really cute summer outfits that people have given us. i just want to but her a summer hat.

Rebecca- we only bath Kaetlyn every second day- mainly cause she dosent do anything all day I top and tail her though if she is particully 'messy'. She has really dry skin, so paediatrician said bathing 2nd daily will help combat this.

Well I am off for a rest, it is sosoooo windy outside today. I was going to go to shops but I think i might get blown away. Might do that tomorrow as I dont have anything planned for then.

Oh and just a funny tid bit from me!!! Kaetlyns socks are so small I keep losing one so I dont have matching pairs . I think they fall through the holes in the washing baskets and the dogs get to them. Soon she will have no pairs to wear and they will all be odd socks!!!!

    Hi all,

thanks for all the answers on bathing. it seems that we have progressed to showers as long as nathan is doing them lol. I hope that doesn't backfire later and he refuses baths.

sara I can't wait to see a pic of this gown. Hope the over locker is still working, maybe it's just got a small jam or something. Glad you finally got your hosework done.

We are planning to try and walk every day now. I've removed the ice cream and chocolate (so far) and now the exercise need to begin.

    bye

    Hi everyone,

Am so far behind with everything that's happening here, I seem to have almost no time to myself at the moment. So I thought I'd grab a quick moment before he wakes up to drop in & say a quick hi.

Not much happening from my end of things. Starting to be a little frustrated that Liam doesn't appear to be close to sleeping through the night, if I get close to 4 hours then I've done really really well. Plus he's developed feeding issues - he just fusses at the breast most of the time, likes to have about a minute, then screams to sit up, then wants to go back down again, then screams... we can do this for 20+ minutes on the first side alone. Then he'll often want to go to sleep without having the second side, but only sleeps for about 30 minutes (if I'm lucky), then wakes up yelling for more food. MEN!! It's playing havoc with my supply, especially overnight. Sometimes I wake up & feel like I'm exploding, or about to. And then, when I try to get some expressing done (in preparation for the wedding we have to go to in a couple of weeks time), he always seems to know & won't settle until he's drunk everything I was going to express. Oh, and whilst I'm on the whinging train, he has a couple of really dry patches of skin on his ankles, and on his hands & a bit on his face. It looks like eczema, but it doesn't appear to be irritating him, so I'm hoping it's not, but it worries me a bit. We don't use much on his skin (QV oil in the bath is about it & Dermaveen to try to fix the dry bits), so can't imagine it's anything that I've put on him, but it's perplexing. I wish these kids came with instruction manuals sometimes!

Anyway, for not having much going on that was a bit of a rant - apologies for the whinge, especially as in the scheme of things I'm having a pretty easy time compared to some. Although it doesn't always feel that easy!

    Morning Everyone!!

I am going in to get measured for my wedding dress today. I will try and take a sneaky pic of it today so I can show you all!!

We had a successful night with Avaleigh in her cot!! She slept from 9pm to 4am as well!! What a great sleep hey! I went in and checked on her at 2am cause I hadnt heard anything in the baby monitor and she was fast asleep. I got a nice surprise this morning tho when I went in to get her for her next feed - some how she managed to get one of the velro tabs off on one side and did a huge poo and wee and managed to get it all over herself AND the mattress! ARGH! I knew I should have kept the protected side up cause then I would have just need to wipe it up, this has now gone through it

    Hi all,

Veronica, yay on the wedding dress. It's so exciting isn't it. When I had mine altered I'm such a short a$$ that they had to cut more than 10cm off the bottom, and that was with stillettos on, lol

Jan that sort of fussing sounds like what xavier was doing a few weeks ago. I think, but am not sure, what happened is he became over tired, and was having short kips, but only in my arms, and then wanting to feed constantly. I found wearing him got him to sleep for longer than 30 mins, and after a 3 hour sleep during the day he would have a proper feed and then go back for another reasonable sleep (in the Hug a Bub) and so on. I did it for 2 days and it seemed to help his patterns. I have also noticed he now chooses what time he is starting his night sleep, but if I put him to bed when he chooses he does sleep for at leat 7 hours now, but if I try and change it to what I want, no way man.

Sara, what a little cutie, I love the froggy, and the spikes.

    Hey lovely ladies,
Can't talk long, very tired tonight.

V, I hope you were able to take some photos, can't wait to see them if you did.
Jessikah, I'm so sorry to hear about the PND. I hope you feel better soon, and don't forget we are all hear for you if you need us.

Jane, I hope Liam doesn't have exzema, it's just terrible. Charlee had started out very similiar. She had it only on one elbow, and now it is all over hers legs, arms and some on her belly. I would get it looked at sooner rather than later. The MCHN always told me not to worry about it, but I just can't help but feel that I did worry sooner, it might not be this bad now. But maybe there is nothing more you could do than natural creams at the early stages, I'm not sure. I'll just have my fingers crossed for little Liam it isn't exzema or it doesn't get worse.

Zofia, yey on the shopping trip. When you say my wedding do you mean your wedding? I thought you were already married

Jem, I hope your feeling better soon.

Sara, I love the froggy too! Charlee used to have a cow that she loved, until we lost it in Hawaii I hope froggy lives a longer life

Rebecca, OMG on Xaviers big sleep. You must have felt like you could have run a marathon the next day, what a smart little man.

Hi to anyone I have missed.

We are much better. Mine and Jacks colds are still hanging about, but we are alot better and Charlee seems to be nearly all better, so that is good. You won't believe this but I have finally stopped spotting after giving birth Can be believe it 12 weeks of spotting, was driving me mad. After nearly 3 years without a period, I was utterly bumbed!! Hopefully they won't return now for another 3 years Anyway I'm off, I'm soooooooooooooooooooooo tired.

    Well, I'm half sane today.
had the best sleep we have had since we became parents. Although I still feel tired! lol

So co sleeping is def the go for us. Lach seems to be able to go at least 4.5 hours in between feeds at night, which is a big stretch from before.
He is also feeding a little better I think. He seems to not be so fussy, and completely emptying one breast, and not really wanting the other. I will continue to offer the second side and maybe he will take it.
I wore him for quite a few hours yesterday, and he loves it! Thankgoodness for the sling! It's a little back breaking at times.... but much easier to get things done!!
I wore him to y first time parents meeting yesterday and everyone loved the sling. A few headed out to get it afterwards. I thnk I was the only sling mumma in the group up until that point.

anyway, now that I have half a brain, I will attempt personals.

Veronica - YAY on the wedding dress. I must admit, every tme you mention you are getting married, I get a little jealous! hehehe Oh one day........ lmao A girl can dream.
I hope that all your plans are coming together and it is a spectacular day for you

Mel - Glad to hear you and Jack are feeling better! I am worried about getting sick here. I dont know how I would cope with a sick bubba! I guess its inevtable though. And eeek, spooting for that long!! Bugger. Hopefully you are now AF free for a while!! lol

Rebecca - Thanks heaps for your offer of help! I appreciate it. We will have to swap moby numbers and meet up one day. I hope that I can be of assistance to you in the future
I am very jealous of the amount of sleep xavier has!! hehe Hopefully Lach will grow into it soon. You really sound as if you have everything sorted.

Jan - I beleive our little men have conspired against us!! hehe I hope that Liam starts sleeping well for you soon. And hopefully the excema type stuff goes away.
    hugs.

well, now that I am on a roll, lach has decided to crack the sads. Hopefully I can get back on later to finish personals.

    Cheers all.

    Morning everyone!!

Nicky - that is GREAT that you are finding the co-sleeping working! I loved co-sleep with Avaleigh but also love being back in my bed now that she is in her 'big bed' hehe!! ohhhh you will get married soon too and then you can talk about everything wedding!

Mel - thats great that everyone is getting better in your household. I am still spotting at 8 weeks, but it is not all the time. I miss a few days and then have a day of spotting - argh!!

Avaleigh had another great night last night!! I first fed her before 8pm but only for a few minutes cause she fell asleep at my boob. I held her for alittle bit but she woke up, so I changed her and offered her 30mls of EBM that I expressed after her 4pm meal hoping to get more but she emptied both boobs!! She was still hungry after that so I put her on the boob. She then slept from 10pm to 4.30am! I then fed her and then expressed my other side cause now that we are missing the midnight feed, I am sooo full!! She then let me sleep in until 7.30am but by the time I got in to bed after expressing I only had 2 hours of extra sleep. But its still great!

Well I am going to try and express some more milk out. I am trying to build up my supply cause now that I am at the gym I am worried my breast milk will disappear. Yesterday Avaleigh had 120mls while I was at my dresss fitting - couldnt believe it!!

oh the co sleeping is working a treat, but what do I do during the day?? He wont leave my side!!!
    hehe
Its ok if Im up and about doing things, I put him in my sling. But what about when I wanna sit at the computer?? lol

he has just had a feed and a change, he is just whinging cos IM not holding him!! little mummys boy! hehe.

V - good job with going to the gym! I am starting up a netball team next week, as IM not really a gym fan. It's amazing how much the little ones drink isnt it? You have no idea until you have expressed it out. Lach consistently drinks 150-180ml after I have expressed, but has been known on more than one occasion to drink 210ml and still want more! pig! lol
