Yeah Zyon cries after I put the Zantac in his mouth, I'm sure he hates it, but he does drink it1

Yay, for Jack, it's so much easier o have a happy baby...

I know I am slowly building up a Bintang Beer Mug collection (dining at various bars/cafes here that sell Bintang & they charge an arm & a leg for the beer.... But put it in special Bintang Beer Mugs so i figure for the cost of the beer here in OZ, surely it includes the glass!??? SSSSSHHHHHH

    Hi All,

Been MIA for the past week. Since finding out Georgie has hip displacia been preoccupied. Anyway saw Orthapedic Surgeon today and got the brace fitted we expected was needed. The day really was not as bad as we thought, or even bad at all. When the brace was being fitted Georgie was happy as could be. After it was fitted and we put in the pram she went straight to sleep. She has been the perfect baby since the brace is on, feed and straight to sleep. I said to mum if she had been given pain killers in hospital I would have thought she had been overdosed as she is so sedate and peaceful. But she has had nothing so she is just very calm, or in shock at what we have done to her but its not. Just hoping she hasn't got her nights and days mixed up today.

Nappy changing is a bit of challenge as we can't lift her by her legs so cleanning her bum is done kind of blindly. Clothes she are still working out. I took a bigger jump suit with me which I knew would fit her (coz it was so big) when we dressed her we both said she looks like Maggie Simpson in her star suit. But we will work out what clothes she can wear that fit her a bit better.

Anyway will do personals soon but overall the was not upsetting like we thought it may have been, I think it was certainly helped by Georgie not being upset at all.

Disappointing thing is she can't have baths, this was special daddy daughter time and she loves being in the water. I don't think she will like sponge bathing much.

Anyway very long post sorry about that.

    Hi all,

Fran the 7 hours are still few and far between, but it's a start. Feeding tops are maternity sizes too, so the sizing makes you feel good, mine are a size 10, yet I'm a 16 in normal clothes. i'm planning to get some material and make myself some long boob tube things too, so I can wear some more normal clothes. that way I can cover my tummy and the boob not being used.

Flossie, I hope the pulling feeling isn't anything bad. It could be related to your pelvic floor, you where quite knocked around, it might just take a little longer and some extra exercizes to get back to your pre preg body.

Jemima, I almost got that HAB, still trying to work out the right amount of tieing to be the most comfy. Your sleeps sound great, I can only look forward to that.

Zofia, good girl doing your assignment.

Veronica, the decision on waking or not is a hard one huh, do I wake and risk them not going back to sleep, ordo i try to change the following day to change the night routine. Arrgh, I don't know, I'm still just doing what I'm told, being controlled by a baby lol

Sara, feeding in public not a huge deal. I don't drive, so if I do head out of the house I'm basically putting myself in a position that I will have to feed in public. I have taken advantage of some baby change stations, but I have also just plonked myself down somewhere and started feeding. I'm over it.
Oh I couldn't see a ppic, i'll go ack and have a look tomorrow.

Bridee great to hear that the brace is going well.

Now I have to ask a question. You guys all seem to bath your babies every day. I've been told not to as it's completly unneccesary and can dry out their skin (although we quite often only use water). Have you been told to do it daily ofr a reason, eg routine etcI just feel like we are the only one who do every second day, yet I know heaps of peopel locally that only wash every couple of days too. I'm confused.

Gees its mentally draining meing a mummy.

    Night all

Becca ~ everything sounds like it going so awesome with Xavier. I’ve warned DP about leaving Lucas unattended on a table too. It’s a good one to remember that just because they can’t roll now doesn’t mean they might not be tomorrow. Obviously Lucas is not going too far ATM but it’s a good habit to get into early.

V & Tracy ~ I’ve been wondering whether to bath Lucas at night as part of a bedtime thing, but I usually bath him in the mornings when he wakes up. He LOVES the bath and has from his very first one, and when he’s all cleaned up he happily goo’s and gaa’s for ages. He really loves it as his special morning time.

Jemima ~ LOL yes poo is exciting for us. Lucas was born with gastroschisis, an abdominal wall defect where there was a small hole near his belly button. The skin when he was forming did not completely enclose and his bowels were exposed through this hole as he got bigger. Gastroschisis happens somewhere in 2 - 4 weeks from conception and it was diagnosed at my 18 week scan. As you can imagine the rest of the pregnancy was a turbulent and worrisome one but we got through it.

Bridee ~ It’s good to know the appointment and brace went well and that Georgie was peaceful afterwards. I think there is an instinct in babies that tell them when they need to rest their bodies to get better. I’ve seen it a lot with Lucas. They just accept what they need to do and relax; I wish it were the same for us Mummy’s!!

MummyMel ~ sounds like the same sort of think is happening with Jack.

Fran ~ Yes I wish I could have avoided giving Lucas the coloxyl. 2 weeks is a long time for Alessia! How is she now?

Ngala ~ Yay for getting married a ticker is a good idea.

*big love* to all have a great day.

    Rebecca,
I only bath Zyon in water & bicarb soda, no chemicals, this softens his skin & it is more so to relax him & have a bit of a night time routine so he knows what to expect next!

WOOO HOOO for me Indah put herself to bed yesterday in the bottom bunk, she didnt wnat to sleep in the cot!!!! Then last night she went in the bed again so when we are back from Bali Zy will go into his own room!!!!

It is something we tried to get sorted before ZY arrived but Indah loved her cot!!!

Yeah for Indah Tracey, what a clever little girl, or should I say big girl
We plan on trying to put Charlize in a bed when we move into our new house, but plan on putting her cot beside her bed incase she isn't ready. We have bought her one of those novelty beds, with wooken panels down the side so she can't fall out. It's so cute, has butterflies on it. We are hoping she will want to say in this until she is about 7 then we will get one of those sigle bunks that have a roll out desk and storage drawers underneath. But we'll see how we go first

    Good morning everyone!!

I am up early today cause i thought Avaleigh was waking up when Jason was going to work, but nope! She's still asleep. So thought I would stay up and have a shower and breakfast while she is asleep... Avaleigh slept from 9.30pm - 4am last night!! We had a busy day yesterday so the routine changed a little bit. My sis is over from Sydney for 3 wks so I picked her up from the airport and we stayed at mum's for dinner. I fed Avaleigh at 6.30pm while at mums and she didnt go back to sleep, so I came back home around 7.30pm. Had a little play with Avaleigh, bathed her about 8.30pm and then had another play and then she fed around 9pm and then was out like a light! No grunting or anything and then I didnt hear her until 3.30am but she still wasnt really awake then so I let her wake up and give me a cry at 4am. She had a big feed on both sides cause my boobs were so full and she went back to sleep! Hopefully I can still manage a shower and breakfast before she wakes.

While my sis is over here she is going to help me lose weight! She showed me everything we are going to do and I dont know what I have gotten myself into!!! I am going to be reallllllllllllllly sore. But I hope I see results cause my sis looks great these days!

I have been trying to use my breast pump but I cant seem to be able to get it to work!! I feel like my breasts are too small and I am not getting good suction?? I might try after my shower and see if I can get it working at all..

ANyways, I hope all is good with everyone. Sorry for no personals but I am in for another busy day.

    bye bye!

    uh oh - she's stirring!

Happy 6 weeks to us, and isn't it glorious. Xavier thought he would celebrate by sleeping from 8.15 om to 4.15am (yes count them that's 8 hours, then was back to sleep no later than 5 am, and didn't stir till 8.30am, so unheard of here. But I'm ecstatic!!

Veronica, I use the isis as well, but my boobs are a dd so not sure. I did have trouble a few weeks ago, no suction at all. Ended up being that one little bit wasn't staying in properly so there was no seal. I tested it by putting it against my thigh. If you can't get suction on your thigh then it;s the pump. If you can, just try feeling around the edge of the pump and make sure the edge is always touching skin. HTH

Tracey, yeah for indah, your kids are very clever. With bathing I have made this dads job, so I doubt xavier is going to get one every night. Plus with water restrictions and all. Although we don't seem to need it to get him to sleep. Maybe in summer when it's hot we may have to more. Nathan has also decided showers with Xav are more fun, No complaints here, at least I know my husband is clean
How does the bicarb soda work, like epsom salts etc would behave or like a bath bomb or something, a bit fizzy??

August, I especially had to remind nathan about the change table, 'cause it's true he may not roll for a while yet, but then he turned onto his side when he was 2 days old in the hospital, so anything could happen.

Well heres to babies sleeping so I can remain sane.

    Sorry for the selfish post.
Bad night last night, Lach wont sleep longer than one hour at a time.
He also is really really fussy when feeding... and It's just not working!
I know I have enough milk and I know that it is letting down, but he just cries and cries during feeds pulling off 10 or more times, adn no matter what I do, positions wise, I burp him heaps, Wind drops, I can't get him to stop crying when I try and get him to feed.
I know he is hungry, but he just sucks a few times and then cracks it.
    Its driving me mad!!!!!!!
I think he is gettin enough milk... he has mega wet nappies.
I just dont know if he is getting enough, as he doesnt fall off the breast like he used to... and he doesnt fall asleep at the breast... he just cries.
This and the lack of sleep, is really starting to play on me... I am getting very upset especially at night. I love my sleep, always have. But ths is just ridiculous.
I am trying to find the number for the lactation consultant.... but no luck at this stage.
Rebecca, if you happen to know what it is, I will love you forever!

ANyway, He's sleeping a little bit now.... so I'm going to have a little bit of me time.

    Sorry again
hope everyopne is going really well.

Nicky, it could be a fast letdown? Or it does sound like Zyon was a few wks back.. It turned out he has silent reflux...
You could try calling your MCHN, or the MCHN HOTLINE....

Rebecca, nope the bicarb is just a nice soft feeling in the bath & I have always used it in my babies bath water, never have they had any skin issues, or the milk rash either, it's very gentle on their skin..
