Heya everyone

just a quicky. Well we have made our own bed on this, but we are going to have to do a form of control crying. Charli still won't just be put to bed and go to sleep - she needs to be rocked/breastfed to sleep. And she is still waking for a feed in the night. I have had friends who have said that their kids did that til they were about 8 months old and it's tempting to wait but what if it doesn't happen and things just get harder to change? She is 7 months today. So am trying to build up the strength to get on with it next week. Am going to do the whole sit in the room and each night get further out of the room thing. NOt sure how it will go as my girls seem to not get over things and will cry FOREVER - sob and so on. I can't stand that. Anyways I am in need of some full nights sleeps before I seriously go bonkers.
This issue isn't helping my patience with Liv either and I am struggling with that.

Hope you are all ok. Haven't heard from some for a reallllly long time. I see the new Farmer wants a wife show is going to start - did your brother end up on it tan?

Good luck with the controlled crying Rach. I haven't had any sleeping issues so I can't imagine what that's like.

Brock has been a lil grumpy lately but I guess it's the teething doing it. Going to bed later than usual most nights. He also seems to have sore ears. He's had a cold for a week and now I have it to. I feel just awful. This morning after I fed Brock all I could do was lie on the floor in the lounge while he crawled around. I was just exhausted. Despite this Steve was happy to just walk out the door and go and do his own thing today. Before he left he asked if I wanted him to say. I replied yes & he still went. Because of this I have now chucked him out. I really have to keep him out of the house this time. He's done very little for our son or me for months now & today was the finally straw. It is so daunting wondering how on earth I can get this house looking spick and span to sell it when I have to be back at work in two weeks. Absolutely dreading that now. Have no choice as I'd have to give 4 weeks notice. Maybe I will resign as soon as I go back then just concentrate on being a single mum. Oh and then of course there is the big decision of where to live. Do I stay local or move closer to my parents. I just do not know. It's just all too much to think about. I so didn't want my son to end up being passed between parents as I've seen the damage it's done to his step sister. I joined facebook the other day and managed to track down an old friend I lost track of over a decade ago. She said something to me today that made me think "I stayed in my marriage 8 years longer than I should've because of the kids, big mistake". Do I want to end up like that? Absolutely not.

Rach good luck, let me know how it goes. Ive had to use controlled crying twice in total because it didnt matter what I did nothing would get Taylor to sleep. Its horrible but what I did was after turning her off her belly and putting her dummy in for the 5th time I would leave the room for a few minutes come back turn her over put her dummy in again and on the third time I would turn her over put her dummy in and she would generally close her eyes and go to sleep.

Sleep is becoming an issue with Taylor at daycare 3 days a week now, they have no routine there and we do at home so Taylor is so confused as to her sleep times and has now gone from having two hour and a half naps a day to having 1 to 2 40 minute naps a day grrrrr. I dread bringing her home from day care coz she is always so grumpy.

I am very sorry to hear things are so bad at home still, but only you know what is best and if it is making it harder for you to have DP around then you are making the right decision. In regards to moving closer to parents I think it would be wise, that way you have a support network close by.
I know with everything compounding things must seem so tough right now but remember it wont stay this way...... it will take time but whatever you decide to do WILL work in the end.

I have been without internet since my last post - DP took the wireless connection thingymabobby to work GRR - and i've only just figured out how to access bb using my new mobile.. where there's a will there's a way! Can't type much though, the keys are too small and it takes far too much effort. RACH i hope the controlled crying is working for you and that you are getting the sleep you need. We don't have an issue with night sleeps but lots of settling issues during the day. My stupid brother is back with his xg - she caught wind of his audition and managed to weasle her way back into his life, heaven forbid he should find someone he is compatable (sp?) with and that's wants the same things out of life as he does- she's not my favourite person in the world can you tell :s SATYA hugs to you dear! Despite the uncertainty of what lies ahead be assured that what ever decisions you have made (will make) that you have done so with your son's best interest in mind and for that you are a fabulous mum! In same ways our situation is not all that dissimilar to yours .. dp sometimes thinks because he is the bread winner he does not have to take on any more responsibilites whilst he is home .. Things have been improving but i'm not too keen on Coop growing up with his father absent most of the time and with the little time he has at home spent doing what ever the hell he likes! Anywho back to you, be strong - our thoughts and prays are with you during this rough time! DANIELLE poor Tayler and poor mum! I haven't spent much time away from Coop so i can only imagine what you are contending with! I do think the family daycare idea is fab and once we have a place of our own we may consider doing the same thing. Until than i am psyching myself up to leave Coop and do some relief teaching once the term starts next week! ABOUT US well we finally get to see the dermotologist on sat hoping for some answers to coop's skin issues, he's got alot of scarring which p***es me off as the docs we've seen have all said it's not an issue but to me a 7 month old with a face that an acne ridden teenager is just cruel! I have to go to court next tuesday regarding my car accident, been charged with driving without due car. I had a meeting with my solicitor and our fingers and toes are crossed that i don't lose my license! My summons is riddled with errors but i have had a few speeding infringements in the past this time next week i'll either be relieved or very, very cranky! I haven't even mentioned much about my son but if i keep typing i think my thumbs man fall off or i will definately develop rsi haha so till next time - when i hopefully have proper internet access take care xo Oh i'm on facebook too, feel free to add me tania spagnolo - there's two of us but i'm the one in the Australian network.

Hey ladies!!! Are you all well and ok? I hope you are safe from fires & haven't lost any family or friends - or your homes for that matter! Living so near it all, I have many friends who have lost homes, family & friends but I have not been directly affected (which I am sooooo relieved about to be honest!) Having said that, I had a good cry tonight looking at some friends photos of a little family with young children including a baby girl who all perished. It's so tragic. Stay safe everyone in Vic/NSW & Qld!!

I thought I may not have joined this group properly or something cos I hadn't gotten any email updates in AGES. Somehow I managed to miss Tans entry actually. So I will have a read of that tomorrow and respond then :-) (I am disappointed I can't point at your brother on the show and say I know who that is LOL).

I am listening to Charli cry atm. We haven't given the control crying a consistent go. We have been so tired and unmotivated but it's really getting ridiculous. So we are trying to sort it out now. She is driving me slightly batty with it all. And so is her sister. Part of the issue is that Liv still isn't sleeping through herself lately!!!! I can't believe that half my grief at night is my 4 year old!? Just when we were going to give the cc a go she decided to ween herself off pull-ups at night and just wear knickers. She then had us up every night for a week to go to the toilet in the middle of the night and it worked and all. Out of the 2 weeks she's been doing it she has only had 2 accidents.. Pretty impressive actually! I also was told about juice - apple in particular - makes girls have accidents & makes it hard for them to hold on! I never had heard it before until recently. Of course apple juice is Liv's fav and so we have decreased the amount of juice she is having and I believe it's helped a lot. She has started 4yo kinder which is a relief lol - we were going pretty BATTY over the holidays I have to say! I thought I was losing my mind at one stage I was so tired and she was so bored.

How did you guys all cope with the VERY hot weather if you had it? We had the WORST weather ever and I was sooooo glad we got the cooling put in. We are broke because of it but I would rather be broke & cool on those days lol. Unfortunately it led to the disasters of the weekend and now. Hoping we don't have another day like Saturday again - hottest on record and it was like being in a fan forced oven.

Hi everyone!!

It has been months since I have been on here. With 3 kids now, some days are impossible!!

Have read through a few posts but I am so far behind I can't catch up!

Flynn is great. For us, they have definitley (sp?) got better the more we've had. He is a gorgeous child. Sleeps through, is always happy and smiling and hardly cries.

We've had to put him on soy formula as our Doc seems to think he's had an allergic reaction to normal formula. He's had sinus, runny nose, coughs etc for weeks. He went off his bottles but not his food. So far, the soy thing seems to be helping.

The rest of the family is well. Will & Rory are growing up so fast. It's like I blink my eyes and they've grown an inch!

Hope everyone and family's are well..

Will make an effort to get back on here more often...

I tried replying straight away to this message of yours but something was going wrong with the connection sorry.

We have a 4 year old so have been through the 3 year old stage. I never knew why people said 'terrible twos' as we found the minute she turned 3 it was nightmare behavior!! It depends on what you have in place already - do you have the whole 'naughty corner/seat/spot' or whatever you might call it? We call it time out and she sits in a particular spot. If you don't do that it would be worth giving it a go. On top of that it's time for negotiating :-) And that's all it ever is from here on in lol.

Let me know what you are having issues with and I will offer any experience I have

Long time no post.

I actually forgot all about this thread. I haven't had access to the net for a couple of weeks cos my ex took the cords for the laptop. Before that I was coming on to BB but just forgot about this thread.

Life has been busy. I'm back at work full time & Brock is loving daycare. Have asked to go part time but I doubt my work will allow it. Hoping to get 3 days a week as it would suit my new life as a single mum a little better than full time work. Brock goes to sleep around 8pm to 9pm so it's hard to get the housework done after that cos I just feel like resting. When I get home at 5.30pm he sleeps for an hour or so so I can get dinner sorted, but keeping up with the housework is certainly a challenge.

He's keeping me super busy running around after him - he is so quick. Opening drawers & taking stuff off tables etc. He's walking along the furniture and has managed to climb onto his FP toddler rocker & stood on top of it. He's just into everything. So active.

He as 6 teeth now. Loads of blonde hair. Not talking yet. Smiles & giggles all the time. HIs latest new thing is clapping. He started doing it last week - just one week before he turned 8 months (tomorrow). Generally sleeps well but for the last couple of weeks has started to wake around 3am. Not sure if it's teething causing it as number 5 & 6 teeth are still emerging or if it's cos he has had a cold on and off for absolutely weeks on end. Two lots of antibiotics to try and get rid of the cough which did go but I heard it again when he woke this morning.

My mum had another op for cancer. All went well.

I'm still in my house. My ex is trying to convince me we can work things out but I am not convinced.
