Evening all - hope we all had a nice day and that those in Melbourne enjoyed the sunshine!
Amanda I do hope your little boy is ok - do thell us ASAP how he is doing
Enigma, I remember the first time I left Flynn with my mum I was real scared - I was worried she'd drop him or not support his head properly. Mad really - she did family day care for 12 years and studied childcare!!
Ali, apparently bubs go through a drooling patch around about now, due to the fact that they are developing saliva for the first time and don't know how to swallow it. That said, a mate's boy had his forst tooth at 15 days so it can happen any time....
Bath, are you still up for a Melbourne catch up next week? Any day except Wednesday suits me.
Nenny, awful about your SIL's mum - my ma is about that age, only 59 - it would be hard to think of her going so young....
My day was pretty cruisy - woke up and after a bit of work and (additive!!) ebaying in the morning I headed out with a schoolfriend to visit a mutual schoolfriend who is "confined", awaiting birth of her second child. Poor love is literally confined - she has pelvic instability and in a real bad way (wheelchair, crutches, etc). She is 1 week overdue and has been dreading being induced like last time, but the good news is her waters broke and had a show today, though she doesn't believe it and all arvo kept talking it down, not wanting to get her hopes up. Then as we left, she had a contraction that was strong enough that she couldn't talk and had to hold her breath. Some how I reckon she will be having her but without induction. Fingers crossed!!
So our arvo was spent out in the sunshine under a wisteria vine eating scones my friend's DH made (yes! really!) while Flynn slept in his pram for 3 hours and my friend's daughter went nappy-less on the grass. Bliss! Then came home and made a yummy spaghetti marinara and had a nice bottle of wine with DH. Somehow it all seems too good to be true! That said, I have been a pessimist all my life and think I have wrecked happy times in the past but expecting the worst, so I think I'll just shut up and enjoy it.
