Patrick loved Mums potato and pumpkin mix, but unfortunately it didn't like him .
He is loving the Vaalia yoghurt atm, so he has that and a couple of jars of baby food. Usually I do give my baby home cooked food but in certain cramped conditions, I am having to turn to alternative measures.

Jess the alpaca farm looks great! And that is so exciting about kinder - I can't imagine how you do it. The other day I remarked to my MIL that my SIL must be busy because my nephew started school last week. She just smiled and said "well when Luke (my BIL)started school I had a 3yo, and 18mo and a 6 week old". THAT put things into perspective for me!!

IK - LOL about "at least I'm not a shoe person". I used to be one - OMG I can't believe how much $$$$ I wasted when DH and I were DINKS. I mean, we were students and "pow-wah" for years - I remember one time when we were cherry picking one summer we ate dry white bread and lettuce sandwitches for 3 days before pay day! Then when I started work, my award wage was $17,000 AND DH lost his Austudy cause I was earning too much. So I know what it is like - where the bloody hell did my perspective go for all those years?? Sheesh! We didn't go mad on material things (as the Junies who visited our house saw) but we certainly enjoyed the cashola when it was there. But just a little less enjoyment on shoes and handbags and wine and expensive cheese might have been good!! Ah well - can't put an old head on young shoulders, I guess.
Bath, the $220 on a blazer sounds about what I would expect - I remember mum paid $100 for mine when I was in year seven in 1987 - OMG - 20 years ago!!! I remember too she worked out it cost her roughly $100 a week to send me there (Lowther Hall) so every day I took a sickie she'd remind me it was $20 down the drain LOL

I hear you Ceecee - Flynn is a floor polisher like your girl and Niall. It's good you are happy with your decision about work - what were you doing again? Gosh it has been so long since we were pg I have forgotten what most of us did BB (before bubba)Ally is well and rolling all over the house, which is a huge motivation to keep the floor clean!
Mel I didn't watch Brothers and Sisters for the very reason that I don't want to get committed to another show LOL - House and NCIS are enough for me at the moment (plus I don't mind the old Dr Phil during the day!!)
Well Flynn is about a week off crawling, at the most. DH has discovered that if you let him practice crawling in the bath there is a real incentive not to slack off and face plant (ie: the water LOL) so bathtimes in our house are punctuated by DH calling me to "come watch this" as Flynn lifts his bottom AND torso at the same time.
This week is my first week of 2 days in the office and 1 day at home and I think it is going to work well. Oh and I got my first "head hunter" call from a recruitment agency they are looking for people with my qualifications/experience. But I am not gonna bite, even though I am tempted to go to the interview with the agency. As they say in The Castle, "its nice to know what you are sitting on". I wouldn't leave my current job in a pink fit - my boss is so understanding and I have really great work and conditions so I would be mad to leave.
Plus with TTC#2..........

Evening girls - I am so late in today. The man came to put skylight in at 9.30am and he was done pretty quick and I have light in my laundry (yeah!), the man for the wardrobes came at 10am and he only left at 9pm!!! I couldn't get to the computer as the stuff we pulled out of the old wardrobes was in front of computer. He didn't want to come back tomorrow and asked if it was OK - I was more than happy as I have a few things to do tomorrow. I set up portacot in my room and Marley slept well so its good practice for when we go away. Chelsea was asleep on the couch but she was very excited when I took her to bed and she saw her new wardrobes. I am so wrapt they look awesome - money well spent. Now all I have to do tomorrow is put everything away neatly. Should take me all day!! I have my appointment with Marleys new GP tomorrow so hopefully she can shed some light on my itchy child.
For our holidays, I found a hire company at Sunshine Coast that I can hire a brand new Mountain Buggy pram and portacot (inc linen) for $115 (for 19 days) delivered and picked up from our house! I hired a baby capsule from them for Marley and it was so cheap. It is called Hire for Baby and it is an Australian wide franchise. I asked the women how new the equipment was and she only started the business in December and bought all her stock brand new! Great deal, I am so excited that I don't have to lug a pram and portacot to the airport!
Nic - the show was basically about a family and their business. One of the sisters finds out that their is hardly any money left in the company (most of them all work for the father in the business). You see the father having a fight with a blonde women and his son sees them and starts wondering who she is. At the end the father has a heart attack and dies. His kids are all in awe of his relationship with their mother - very loving. But the mags reported that he had been having an affair with the women for over 20 years! All the kids have different issues - one son is gay, the other fought in Iraq and is a bit of a boozer, one sister is having marital issues with her husband and the other has extreme political views that none of her family like. Hope that makes sense but you should watch, it was good! I watch far too much night time TV!

CC - my post earlier about the blazer was not meant to be a lecture at you...I was just reminiscing about my blazer daysIt occurred to me later tonight that you could have taken it that way, and then I remembered, from knowing people going to school further up the East Coast, that blazers probably become less and less part of school uniforms (remembering photos of school dresses with cap sleeves!). In Melbourne, blazers have to be good quality or you FREEZE in winter! There are cheaper alternatives (well, there was for my school, non-wool with same school crest etc), but the wearer would have to really layer with thermals to beat the cold at lunchtime LOL!

BTW, on the topic (earlier) of fights with DP's and DH's...DP and I just had a 'discussion' about leaving Oscar, feeding him solids, and CFA training. He seems to think that I haven't tried 'hard enough' to introduce solids and that I'm happy to just put him on the boob instead of expressing to put into a sippy cup for him. Firstly, he gets solids when he's interested, and I have some prepared in the freezer, so he can stop pontificating about that. Second, why not have him at the breast when I'm there? It's not me he'll be drinking out of a sippy cup for! The sippy cup is for when I'm NOT there, and I would have thought that my going back to riding provides a nice easement into getting food into him without me being there. It will take TIME, and I've only been leaving him for 2-2 and a half hours at a time since last week, so it's only early days. Geez, CFA doesn't mean so much to me that I'm going to force the solids issue so that I can get to training. Why am I being a 'baby-led' parent if I'm going to try to squish him into activities that, quite frankly, can wait? It's not life or death, it's not even feast or famine - it's volunteer duties and as much as brigade involvement means to me, if I have to take a back seat because Oscar's not a demon on solids (enough to be left with someone for a few hours so we can both go), then so be it. He is more important. GRRR!

Good morning... My DH and I had a similar argument when Wade was about 5 months old: he wasn't used to a bottle at all and DH was miffed one time when i was late home from shopping and found it hard to feed him. He said I should have given Wade more practice but as most mums know it's not easy giving a bottle to a baby who knows there's a full boob inches away! It's better coming from somebody else... and even better still if they are really really hungry! So it was a real "grrrr" at Dh who didn't like having to endure the trickiness of it all... what is it with men and being patient!??? You'd think that cavemen would have had to be patient as they awaited the right moment to spear the prey wouldn't you!? Sheesh! Although i have to admit DH is much better with Niall

NOW, Jess, I thought of you this morning as I was trying to get Wade ready for the first of his 2 kinder orientation classes. Scenario: I had to get him there at 8.45am. He wasn't keen because he knew it meant that I would have to leave him for a short spell so he wouldn't eat breakfast or basically do anything i needed him to do. So I left him and dealt with Niall who was being really clingy an unsettled too. Verity also sprung a "homework" issue on me at the last minute: "Mum! For science the teacher said we have to measure ourselves because a student said they heard we are taller in the mornings than at night... I can't do it by myself you HAVE to help me NOW!" ...ok so I did that... meanwhile Niall screamed because i put him down and Wade was demanding he watch a video at the top of his lungs. I toyed with putting Niall in a sling but I knew that that wouldn't work when it came time to dress Wade... believe me it just doesn't work! So after helping Verity (thank God she is totally autonomous in every other regard of getting ready for school) I focus on Wade... he started off by kicking and screaming. Niall was screaming too... great... so much for "gentle parenting" i felt like an ogre... of course there was the option of just not taking Wade... anyhow in the end I managed to convince Wade that I was just going to very briefly go to the shop to buy him a train while he was at kinder... bribery.... works everytime.... because I save it as a very last resort it's usually very effective. So i was able to dress him. unfortunately Niall screamed the whole time even though he was right beside me on Wade's floorBut what could I do? Jess!???? And I've soon got to do this twice a week... Now Wade ended up LOVING kinder... despite a report from the teacher that at one stage there was tears.... he got his train and is keen to return on Friday. Anyhow I just wanted to let you girls know that even though sometimes i might sound like I have all the answers I Don't! LOL my oh my oh my.... what have I got myself in for!

Hi girls, well I'm nearly finished unpacking. I can now park the car in the garage, so I'm mighty happy. I went out to Uni (QUT) yesterday to have a look around and to get some books from the library to start one of my assignments. It is massive, OMG, I am such a cow ****y. Lol. I had Melissa in the sling and Nathan in the pram. This was an excellent workout, and the looks I got, lol, priceless. The library has a parents room with a large desk, internet access computer and lots of toys for the kids. You can book it for up to an hour at a time. Sounds good to me they also had a list up of child/baby frindly spots on campus. There are a couple of parenting rooms with microwaves. So I have mapped them out. O week is from the 19th Feb. I already got my student ID found out about parking permits and now know where to take the kids, so I'm all set to get in and get the free stuff, lol. The parents room in the library is a God's send, this way I can take all of the kids with me (plus the portable DVD player) and be set for a couple of hours, I thought I could book an hour either side of lunch. It will be good on days where Michael is home, I can go in all day.
I really didn't think it would be so hard watching him drive away to go back out to work, but I took myself off to my ensuite and had a little cry. We have done the whole fly in fly out thing before, but we only had two littlies then and now I have a brood. It is harder without him he is such a hands on Dad. It's only for two years.

Bath, We grew up in North West Queensland, "Blazers" refered to how hot the day was not a jacket you wore to school, lol. The seniors at this public school are expected to wear their blazer in Winter. I forget how much they were. I just spent $634 on new uniforms for my girls, I did check out the seconds bin for some bargins but there was nothing in the girls sizes. I got in to late. Next year Bree Moves up to Midle school and they have a different coloured blouse and Allanah will start prep and the require uniforms as well, so cute. I love seconds store, my girls wear hand me downs, never made it an issue so they don't think it is, just waiting on those teen years.
IK, lol, wait till you have a tribe and you can't even pee by yourself, I love 'me' time, very rare occurance, but I figure I will take it where I can. Allanah was 8 months before she really got interested in solids. They will let you know when they want it.
Jess congrats with the alpacas, I had a look it looks great, woohoo for you. ohhh and another baby off to school/kinder.
Mel yay for you renos. how good is it? and yay for your holiday.
Dee a big congrats for the up coming nuptuals. I love weddings, Our friends are getting married a week after Easter, I can't wait.

No.1 Verity sounds so much like Jack springing things on you right at the last minute.
No.2 I use to have that sort of battle with Jack everytime we went to kinder....its the seperation issue, trust me he will get over it.
No.3 Patrick screams like that if I put him down as well.
I also have to add that Tim does the kicking and screaming every morning

Dee- great to hear from you again. You must feel like your finally getting somewhere now the garage is clear. I'll be going through the same thing soon moving back to Sydney, however i think we will have to put most of our stuff in storage when we get up cause we wont know where we are living right away.
I can imagine the faces and stares u got with Nathan in the pram & Mel in the sling lol! did she get heavy in it though?
mel- all your reno's sound like they are coming along nicely. atleast the guy finished even if it was late last night so u could get out & about today.
went to mums & bubs at the gym today. had made up my mind this was going to be the last attempt at the class as last year i kept going and it was always cancelled cause no one else showed up. Anyway there was 5 others mums & bubs there so looks like its kicking off again! Nixon was the eldest by about 4months, with the youngest just 5 weeks oh so tiny and cute hehe! seings he is not crawling yet he is still pretty mobile, i think once he starts trying to crawl over the other babies our time will be up, but we'll keep going till then!

I am going to apologise ahead of time because I am coming in here to have a completley selfish whinge............
I got a phone call from the real estate agent this afternoon, which I though was cool because I was waiting for someone to return a call, however it was not the person returning my call it was a different agent ringing to tell me that our rental is ON THE MARKET (bugger, *****, P00 etc etc etc) I can't believe this is happening to us again. The very last thing we need at the moment is too move house, not only can we not really afford, bond, reconnections and moving costs, we had hoped to stay in this house for another couple of years as we really like the location, the rent is decent and all the rest.
Our lease runs out on 5th of April, so once again I am hunting for a decent rental property, the agent said he will try really hard to get an investor, but who knows, the agent that sold our rental last year said the same thing......... I am so frustrated at the moment I could cry.
Anyway thanks for the well wishes with the job interview, it is actualley tomorrow morning at 8:30, I am crossing everything that I get this job because we now desperatly need the money.

Oh noooooo Ali!!! (((hugs))) You must be going through hell! That is my worst nightmare... and I've only been through it once myself. Good grief. You must feel so helpless... all I can say is that maybe, just maybe something good will come of it. This is such a biggie Ali... don't apologise! Oh Ali that is awful - didn't you guys have to move just before Tori was born too? Hopefully there is a long settlement so you will know well in advance whether you get an investor or occupier!! What is the rental market like in Perth? I so hope a great place just falls in your lap
My news : tomorrow I am going to work BUT SO IS DH!!! He is working with a mate who has a tree surgeon business (Annie's hubby - you met her Mel). So my GF Annie will be looking after Flynn tomorrow. I feel like I have been thrown the biggest curve ball - I now have to write a list of Flynn's routine (like there is one!!) and get all his stuff ready, just like for daycare. Thing is I am probably more worried about Annie than Flynn - Flynn will cry and carry on but he will cope - poor Annie has a 15 month old girl so she will have two bubbas! At least her girl is in a real routine, so hopefully when Flynn is being a pain Charlie (Annie's girl) will do her thing.

OMG Ali..that is soo not what you need right now.
Well, we had a shock when we came home after our meeting with the "help" group...I'll put this into Boohoo so you can all read it in there... Molly our beautiful labrador cross staffy was laying in the full sun and not moving...As you an probably guess I went completely psycho thinking she was dead when she lifted her head a little. DH and I quickly moved her into the shade and started throwing water over her to try and cool her down, then we poured water down her throat to try and rehydrate her (her water dish was 1 foot away in the shade!). After an hour of doing this she started to stop panting so much so we tried to make her walk around.As soon as she stood up she fell back down,well at this point I started crying thinking the worse and went inside cause I really thought that she wasn't going to make it. DH kept pouring water into her and finally got her to walk around and not fall down.I had this crazy idea that maybe if we take her into the hills to the cold spring water she might get better quickly. So we took her up into the hills and she is 80% better. I'm going to take her to the vet on Monday for a checkup anyway because I noticed she was dragging her leg.

Dee- Well done for managing to walk with one in the sling and to push a pram as well.

Ali - You poor thing, didnt you only just move?? Please come in here and vent when you need to. Remember, the property may be sold to an investor that might be happy for you to stay on!! I hope the playgroup thing works out for you, i guess it takes time to find the right group of people and you will know when you feel comfortable that they are the right ones!
Well im off to sydney tomorrow to hunt around for dresses!! The date of the wedding is the 21st April, im really looking forward to it, we are having it at a winery near home and its going to be a morning ceremony and a lunchtime reception. the whole thing should be finished by 4.30pm and then my mum and dad are going back home with Lachlan and DF and i will be staying at the winery for the night and then going home the next day. Not a really exciting honeymoon but hey, i dont think i could leave him for two nights i would miss him too much!!
I started playgroup last week and im really enjoying it, i already knew a couple of the girls which made it easier but they are really a lovely bunch of ladies (this bunch in here is better though!! )
The other thing is that im going to be working one day a week from now on, its going to be sundays (DF will have lachlan for the day) and its back at the real estate where i used to work! im looking forward to getting out for the day, its only 10 mins from home and from 10 until 3.30 so not a long day at all!
Hope you are all going well, im off to watch Will and Grace and then hop into bed!!

Oh Ali, that is terrible, same thing kept happening to my SIL eventually they just bought one they were renting, ...no chance you guys can do that??? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you, 1. for your interview today and 2. for your house.
Donna, have fun shopping for a dress, how exciting. Michael and I wanted to renew our vows last year but I was pregnant so I told him we should do it at our 15th Wedding Anniversary. That way I'll still be young enough to wear a nice dress. Lol. I want the whole romantic beach thing, just us, our kids and a few family and friends. We got married in a church, and cut our guest list down to 180 people, 40 from my side, 20 or so friends and the rest were Michaels family. It was huge but it was great. Such a life time ago. Lol.
