great to see your home time is now your own Rory - it can make such a difference mentally

ali - hope things are less stressful for you today and you've had a chance to recover from the shocks of yesterday.

i apologise if my responses are a bit not quite together but after a lovely rain shower this morning the heat and humidity is back with vengence - aghh!!! am going to have to reorganise up stairs I think so we can live up their in the airconditioning rather than downstairs where there is none.

amanda - what a pain about moving!!! and don't you hate it when you have to chase up the real estate agents to get the information!!! good luck looking for a new place you going to be lookig round the same area of Crestmead??

Mel - the heat must be really getting to me. i read your email re the excema cream and read it more than once to try and remember the name then went hunting through the chemist for an over the counter cream ..... the chemist mentioned the same one as you and said oh but you need a script and I'm like no you sure. only to come home, reread your email and see - you need a script. my brain does not function in 33 degrees and 99% humidity.

Bath - Benjamin's always the shy thing but raves about it when you leave and doesn't want to leave - it drives me bananas sometimes

such contrasts Bath - freezing in Melbourne and sweltering in the far north although I see a storm developing on the horizon so we might at least have high 20s in a few hours - here's hoping but I'm not holding my breath.

Maya - best of luck and lots of deep breathes in getting your assessments finished.

    hi all,
Jaspen what part of the far north are you as we got a great storm here in cairn cool the whole place down, now we just have to deal with all the ants and mozzies.

didn't do much today went to playgroup and as alway were one of the last one to leave ( at 2pm ) so got left with the clean up. One of the other girls is going to say something next week. We know that it our own fault for staying so long as it is ment to finish at 12pm but that doesnt mean our kids are the ones who made all the mess so we are going to ask them if they could clean the place before they leave and from there on if our kids make more mess we will deal with it. The funnest thing is that me a one of the other girls who stay late are the ones who dont like to clean and dont clean our own house enough ie mopping and here we are the last to go so the ones who have to clean ( if only our DH could see us they would die of shock)

Rory - great they you have some actual home time now. Don't spend it all doing housework! Is Flynn walking? Thats fantastic, he must be very happy with himself.

Jaspen - it is funny to think we are freezing and you are sweating! I think I prefer the sweating lol! PML about the cream, don't worry I have moments like that all the time. Your GP should be able to give you a script for it.

Bath - it is bloody freezing!

Maya - can you get a deferred exam? I have had to start implementing late assignment policy this semester and I have just been reading up on deferred exam requests. Don't want to scare you, I might be wrong but I thought you had to submit the request before the actual exam? And I think deferred exams don't give you a grade either, just a Pass Grade Only on your transcript (not that it bothers many people). Hang in there, you'll get it done. Sometimes our best work is done on the hop!

Well I hibernated for most of the day, but realised I had my hairdressing appointment at 1pm. So glad though, as my regrowth was not looking pretty! They have renovated the salon and they have these cool massage chairs when you get your hair washed, so along with the divine head massage I had a body massage too. DH and I are off for dinner tonight, its our 12th wedding anniversary on Sunday and MIL is coming to babysit. I am so hungry right now, don't know how I will last until 7.30pm!

hey tali - we're in Townsville - that storm was supposed to be heading our way (could see it on the horizon earlier) but seems to have missed us - a small touch of rain and that was it. It has cooled ever so slightly - if only it would take the humidity I would be happy.

Mel - the hairdresser appt sounds devine. Must try and get there myself next week.

Bath - have had a sneek peak - exciting isn't it!!

Just checked out Nic's journal, how exciting! Wonder how long till we hear news, hopefully things are going along nicely for her at the moment. Oh its so exciting and that means your next Rory!

Tali - I had a similiar thing happen when I went to playgroup with Chelsea. As I always talk lots, I was usually the last to leave, therefore the one to clean up! We used to get the others to start cleaning up early so it wasn't always left for me. Hope the mozzies and ants don't annoy you too much!

Our dinner was so delicious! We spent nearly 3 hours at the restaurant. Its so nice that after 15 years being together, DH and I can still talk for that long (well I do alot of the talking lol!!!). We had a great night apart from getting soaking wet when we left, it was pouring and the wind was freezing!!! I've turned my electric blanket on and will head to bed once it warms up.

    Sleep well girls

Oh how exciting for Nic! Her little bubba will be born on my wedding anniversary!

Happy Anniversary to my DH. Thanks for an amazing 15 years together (12 of them married) and two beautiful girls. You are a wonderful husband (putting up with my nagging lol!) and father and I love you with all my heart!

He suprised me this morning with the most beautiful present. I saw a Guess watch in a catalogue about 3 months ago and just commented on how pretty it was. Well the sneak went out and put it on layby. It is the best present he has bought me and so much thought and planning went into it. He is the best DH a girl could ask for

Congratulations Nic on the safe arrival of little Tyron James!!!
Happy Anniversary Mel - glad to hear you had a great start to the day and a lovely evening at the restaurant.

One of these days I'll learn not to venture outside my comfort zone. I stupidly vented about DH yesterday and now feel bad about it (cause he's being an angel today and I didn't have to say anything) - to compound it another thread has started which I have taken a couple of things from personally and feel even worse - would love to just edit out my whole Boo hoo but feel that is rude to the people that have taken the time to respond and don't want to respond to the thread that got to me cause a) my fault for taking it personally b) don't want to escalate it into a nightmare.

How'd your party go the other night Jess???

    anyway had better go

Don't ask! After me going out and asking over 25 ppl, only 1 turned up! I am so dissapointed. But we spent a great couple of hours chatting and I found that we were quite alike.

oh Jess that's unfortunate - after the few months in Tupperware now I have learnt that RSVPing especially in the negative and even attending things are not peoples strong points. I don't know whether people feel scared to respond in the negative cause they think you'll take it personally or quite what but personally I'd rather them just say they aren't coming and it doesn't leave me hanging. Good to see you got to have some adult conversation with someone new though

Bath - thanks for your comments - wise as always

Aw Jaspen you sound tired! Don't feel bad about venting or about taking things personally :hugs:

Like Bath said we all type in the heat of the moment (I try not to cause I SAY things in the heat of the moment, which believe me is worse LOL!!)

Hope you are feeling better today

Thanks Rory and Ali for your wise and kind words.

Hope everyone had a fun weekend.

I am pleased to say the temperatures (and the humidity) have dropped up here and it is now the beautiful northern weather I like at this time of the year - if only my boys could get over this cold they have so we could enjoy it a bit more. At least Samuel had a full nights sleep last night so whatever annoyed him Saturday night has resolved thankfully.

Bath (and anyone else who knows they've had there last child) - how do you know the difference between being just clucky over babies while being secure in the knowledge you're not having anymore children and actually knowing you're not "finished" so to speak(I may have asked this question previously can't remember - and please if you don't feel comfortable sharing that's fine - just battling with it myself at the moment (cause I know DH isn't super keen on anymore) and looking for tothers perspectives.

What a great question Jaspen I too battle with this one as I say I want one more but then look at my wonderful family and think do I really want to try again? The hardest thing for me is I have had three very healthy, well behaved babies, who slept through by 4mths would I be that lucky again or will I have a crying unsettled baby. DH has said he would have another with me if thats what I really want, but do I? or is it just because I see my baby growing up sooooo fast that it makes me sad that she could be the last, and what would stop me from feeling this way if I have another one. My mum has always said you just know when you are done but she had 7 so no doult she was!

well we had friend come over on both sat and sun this weekend dont get me wrong its nice to have people over and gets me someone to talk to and the kids someone to play with but I find it strange that DH has been going away now the whole 18mths that we have lived here and this is the first time I have had people to ring me up to see what we were doing and if we were up for a visit which of course we were doing nothing so I said come over. It just happens now that we are renting a house with a pool they seem to care or realise that I'm doing it alone most weekends, as now the weather has warmed up that want to come over. Well thats the end of my rant it just gets a little sad its like I'm only worth knowing now I have a pool they can cool down in.

what a lovely name nic and trent have chosen I love the name tyron, but DH has a mate with that name so we have felt the we could never use it.

hope all is going well with baby Tyron and hope big brother Nixson is doing well and coping with the new arrival..

better go have to take May to gym.

Oh Nooo Jaspen! Keep venturing out there darl! Leaving your comfort zones is how we grow and become stronger. There is no such thing as a mistake if you can learn from it or even turn it into a positive. How are things now? Better? Keep working at it baby steps!

Jess: 25 invited and only 1 came? awwww did they rsvp? No? that's really rude. It's one of my biggest gripes with modern manners, or lack of, and that is that people rarely rsvp these days. I just think it is the absolute rudest thing not to inform a host/hostess of whether you will be able to attend a function or not. It has happened so many times with my children's parties . Once I made sure that the uninvited were left out of certain things like lollie bags etc. You should have seen their faces. I didn't do it last time because I invited the whole street and was kinda hoping some wouldn't turn up... but they all did! Lucky I catered for it. But what a nuisance Jess, but glad you made a new friend Hopefully she will spread the word about how nice you are and the next party will be more successful.
