Thanks for thinking of me Charly xxx I'm doing ok - just playing the waiting game

But now I have a terrible cough and cold so I'm hoping we dont have to skip another month

MB Mikayla is having a horrible time with her teeth atm too. Dont think its her molars though. I think it might be her top incisors. I feel sorry for her too. Her bottom is red raw - she even had quite a few blisters last week!

Diana said "hello" yesterday! It was so cute. I said "Hello Diana", and she responded with "ewwoo". So cute.

Celsie - yay for Caeleb signing. How clever!

When did you start teaching him that? I would love to teach Diana to sign. Do you know where I could get some info on how to do it? (Unfortunately my local library seems to have no books on it. Is there a website or something that you know of?) How is the potty training going? Diana is doing well. She still wees in the nappy, but most poos happen on the potty now.

Sarah - re you SIL - I would recommend babywearing. Does she have a sling? She can put bub in it, bub will settle and she can go about doing what she needs to do. Bub will learn to self settle in his own time. Diana would only settle in my arms and/or at the breast for about the first month and then she started sleeping on her own. IMO there is no point in trying to get babies to sleep on their own at such a young age. They are used to being with mum and have constantly been with her for 9 months. It takes a while for them to get used to being out in the world.

PP - Diana is usually very well behaved, but she does sometimes throw a tantrum, e.g. when you take away something that she wants to play with.

Starfish - we've been trying to teach him to sign since he was about 3 months old. I guess around the same time that we started the EC training.

A friend of mine let me borrow the Australian Baby Sign book. Maybe have a look on ebay for a second hand copy?

EC training is going well. He went a little backwards for a few weeks due to illness, but seems to be back on track. Now he's started signing, I'm hoping he'll start signing for wees and poos. We've started giving him nappy free time again (I know it's cold, but he wears babylegs) so he can feel what wees feel like again. And then, I'm hoping that he'll start signing when he's done wees. DH had him nappy free this evening, he did wees on his carpark/garage toy and on a big bag of dog biscuits that we'd just bought in from the shops!!! Too funny!!!

We had an awwwww.... cute moment this afternoon. We were doing our fruit and veg shopping. Caeleb always loves to suck on a green apple as we go around picking out what we want. So, as usual, we gave him his green apple. When we got the the register, we weighed one of the apples twice so we didn't have to take Caeleb's away from him. We tried that once before and he screamed the place down. Anyway, the girl was just about finished. Caeleb looked over, looked at what was going on, then placed his apple on the bench to be scanned. It was sooooooooooooooooo sweet. I grabbed his apple, waved it over the scales and said "beep". He was happy with that, grabbed it back off me and continued to suck on his apple. I've just got the most gorgeous little boy in the whole world!!!

Okay... it's 11:20pm and I'm still waiting for my bread and butter pudding to bake. I've never made it before, but got inspired whilst we were out shopping. DH said, don't make it tonight, you'll be up for hours. "Poo poo" I said... please don't tell him he was right!!!

Did the pudding taste yummo?!?! So cute about the apple - little ones are so clever aren't they?!

Is it just me or has anyone else been reminiscing about what you were doing 12 months ago.....from your little ones birthday?? I am shaking my head at how fast the year has gone and how quickly my little bubby is becoming a true little girl, if that makes sense

Right down to grabbing her big sisters hair brush this morning and attempting to brush her own hair, hehe.

Hi everyone...sorry i havnt been here for quite sometime..i have been lurking just not posting, i have been busy with work plus both kids and FH being sick so its been like a war zone.

Thank you for everyones birthday wishes for Ashlyn, it was a bit of a non event due to everyone bar me being sick so we are doing the whole party thing this weekend instead.

And a big Happy Birthday to everyone i have missed...i know that about 90% of you all so i am sorry!!

Ashlyn is still a tiny thing hasnt hit 9kg yet and she is walking around with no problems other than the little drunk stumble here and there lol

Take care everyone, hopefully i can pop in a tad more regularly

I had written a nice long post and someone's little fingers managed to strike the keyboard at the wrong moment and send it into cyber space ....

Thanks Charly and Starfish for the advice for my SIL. She has started putting him down when he is still awake and doing the patting thing and so far so good. Oh I don't envy her in these first few weeks!

I bought Lewis some Puma trainers for his birthday. Wow they are about as expensive as my trainers! I will be off to Kmart next time! And I bought him one of those balls with the bumps all over it from Kmart, $3 and hours of fun later.......
