PinkPalace - when DD#1 came to meet her new sister, DH popped his head in first to say that they had arrived and so I made sure I wasn't holding DD#2 when big sister walked in. I layed DD#2 next to me on the bed (had a big bed!!) so my arms were free for big cuddles with DD#1!! Then I let her discover and 'explore' her baby sister in her own time (under supervision of course, hehe) The first time DD#2 had a big cry, big sister was not impressed, teehee. The other thing we tried to do was where possible, DH would do nappies, burping etc with bubby......I just didn't want DD#1 to think that this new little creature had completely stolen mummy!! We did do the doll thing - veeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyy cute when DD#1 had to 'feed her baby' !! We have had our ups and downs with DD#1...............still are but its amazing how you find yourself just dealing with whatever your little one throws at you! Imo, thinking about it all is actually worse than the reality!!! Although doesn't detract from the hard work but wow! It pays off in dividends - especially when I hear my baby kacking her daks laughing at her big sisters antics!!

Don't know if me sharing gives any comfort but don't doubt yourself as the wonderful mummy that you are!! More importantly, try not to let yourself become concerned/worried about the 'what ifs', cross the bridges as they come and don't let other people's horror stories clog your brain!!! xxxxxxx It's a learning curve for mummy, daddy, big sister and baby!! (trust me, baby cruises through it all!! ) Anywhos, nuff woffle now xx

Well its late so will bbl tomorrow to say a bit more hi to y'all!! Hehe
