Hi girls - just read thru your posts with a bit of nostalgia - I regularly post in the Born in June 2006 thread - so a year on it is amazing to read your stories.
Keep up the good work girls, you all seem to be doing fine and supporting eachother, which is the main thing. I can't believe I will be doing it again in December!
Good luck
Thanks guys for your support with the dummy. I told myself as well that it will be easier to ween him off the dummy, easier then to ween him off his fingers. and it helps keep him settled during his awake times.
I am using the pigeon breast pads as well. Now my milk has settled, dont really seem to need them except for when i am feeding. If i feed from my left, my right one leaks, but not vice versa.
A question - it still hurts down stairs. How much longer???? I hate it. i go from feeling like have had serious DTD session, to feeling like i have DTD rear entry and that, on top of being tired, sometimes, i just want to curl up and cry. my pain killers the obs gave me, make me sleepy which doesnt help, but, have taken the last of them today, so just panadol from now on it which might help.
Hope you all have a good night. Perhaps see you back on during your 3am feed!!
mum2bee
i am still a little sore down there (vagy) and have a little bleeding still (panty liner only). But i am so nervous that i jump when DD touches me. I feel like a virgin again.... i wonder if they will get better?.
As for the other end (out hole) it is better - hurt to poo up till about now. I got Hemmoriods though from birth so waiting for them to dissapear - they seem to come back each poo (sorry tmi)...and i swear they bled the other day!.
I was a terrible feeling the pain and i took panadol in the early days but then just footed it!
hope it gets better!
as for the dummy - i wish Ashley would take one! would save my nipple/finger when settling her!
Hi girls! Just having a quick read before I have a snuggle session with DD#1
In hospital I was given pain relief, kinda like panadol but on top of that, for 'downstairs' I also had a voltaren tablet 3 times a day after each meal - it worked fabulously!! I think you can get them over the counter so it might be worth a try?????
Am still a tad tender myself - but not comfy dtd until after my check up around the 6week mark (DH is chomping at the bit but there are ways..........sorry! tmi!! LOL!!) Still tiny bit of discharge myself but very sporadic. Am just happy that I am seeming to recover so so so much faster than the last time
Anyways, 2&1/2 yr old very sad, desperate for mummy's attention - must go.
My name is Danielle and my little girl Mackenzie is 3 weeks old tomorrow. My friend told me about this site so I am really excited to talk to people who have just had June babies. This is my 1st and wow.
I am having trouble settling her after feeds. Can anyone give me some advise pls.
mine settles pretty well. I burp him abit, change his bum, wrap him back up tight, and pop him back into bed. For me, the key has been wrapping him properly, he hates being wrapped loosely, and if he can get his hands and feet free, then he kicks and carry's on. Also, the dummy does work wonders.
Oh, and congrats on the birth of your daughter. I love the name Mckenzie.
Welcome to BellyBelly and congratulations on the birth of your daughter. I'm Sarah (or Celsie as I'm known on here). My little boy Caeleb is 3 weeks old today. We find that he settles best when we've got ALL the wind up. Otherwise, he fusses and has a sore tummy, which isn't good him or us, as none of us get any sleep.
Having a really full belly of milk helps a lot too, as does wrapping and a clean nappy like mum2bee suggested.
I don't feed in total darkness, as it would be too difficult. I just have a bedside light on. I don't talk to him at night time and I try and keep it as quiet as possible. During the day, we don't go out of our way to be quiet and go about as we would normally do. We also try and keep him a wake a little longer, so he can try and distinguish day from night.
Danielle - i am like Sarah, its not total darkness, but, pretty dark. Last night i feed him in the lounge room, but, had the kitchen light on. sometimes the light i use is the light from the computer screen at 3am in the morning. Good time to catch up on things
I dont seem to have a very windy baby, so perhaps i am abit lucky with that one.
I think thats what my problem could be not getting all her wind up. Im do everthing eles clean nappy wrap her nice and tight. I do make the mistake of talking to her at night but. Im not going to do that tonight. Ill let you know how my night goes.
last night was a good night. She woke at 3.20 am for her feed and I didn't talk to her. I changed her feed her and burped her for which seemed like forever. She feel asleep in my arms but when I put her down I didnt hear her again until 7 am. I actually feel good this morning Iike Ihave been to sleep LOL. Thanks for everyone for the advise the not talking to her and only having a dim light on seemed to help:
am glad you had a good night sleep.
Last night was our first 'windy' night. Took from about 9.30 till 1am to get him settled properly. But, then he slept for 6 1/2hours, so, i still got a good sleep.
Going to chemist to get that stuff for wind.
Whats it called?
i tried to not give infants friend last night or yesterday day. Ashley seems to be sleeping overnight waking 3rd hourly (which is an approvement. usually 9pm, 12pm. 3pm, 6 pm. she was very cranky this morning until now! so i gave her IF....
she doesnt seem to want to feed as much over night. she will feed at midnight but 3am she needs a change (usually) and wll only feed 3-5 minutes and fall back asleep - making stretching and holding her breath for the next 45 minutely on and off which i assume is her wind talking???
does any one elses baby make these sounds (and only at night too!).
this morning she fed very badly as in would squirm, hold her breath, throw her head back (all with nipple in mouth - ouch)... which again i assume is the wind and that is when i decided to give the IF again.
Debbie I got some brauer and it seems to be working well. 61/2 hours sleep thats great the longest Mackenzie has gone is 5 hrs but thats during the day not at night.
Morning (actually it's afternoon, but I'm still in my pj's ) lovely ladies and beautiful bubbas!
Danielle - I'm so glad you had a better night's sleep. Caeleb is shocking if he hasn't got all his wind up. And it's hard too, knowing he's in pain. I'm so glad Mackenzie was a good girl for you. Keep up the good work.
As far as wind drops go, I went to the chemist the first week we had Caeleb home and bought some Infants Friend, as it was the only one they had that an infant under 1 month could have. It seems to help him, although I'm not convinced just yet.
PrincessMya - I hope you sort out your wind problems with Ashley and she starts feeding better in the night for you. There's nothing worse than having a bad night's sleep. Good luck! :crossedfingers:
For those of you who are breastfeeding, are you having any supply issues? I don't seem to be producing enough. I was going okay, but now he seems to want more than I have. I have had a cold for most of this week. Would that make a difference to my supply?

Hi all - may I vent for a minute?!?!?!
Have had a fam crisis rear its ugly head and turn my world upside down - won't go into details but am very glad for the regular snuggles I get with D#1 and my little bonnie bubby through the night (waking DD#1 up for a snuggle through the night would be very detrimental to a fun day the following day ) Have had fam over all weekend - and on top of all of that stuff and having just gotten over DD#1 being quite sick, I am now sick and have lost my voice and coughing so much am almost vomiting. Had a coughing fit whilst feeding
Oh if only I had to deal with the newborn side of things - it'd all be dandy
Anyways, moving on now ................................
In regards to windy babies - goodness me it's so hard to get a burp from little munchkin and then after having her upright for so long and not getting anything out, within 10 minutes of laying her down for sleep, she spits up a massive amount of milk and it goes all over her suit and in her hair ............ so am watching her when I do put her down and then try and pick her up to get the burp out before the spit comes. However!!
Today I propped her bassinet mattress up at an angle with towels so that she isn't lying completely flat which gives me a bit more peace of mind in case she does spit up so will see how that all goes. Didn't have this with DD#1 - she'd just spew all over me
Oh well, never mind. Oh and the other thing!! My left booby has suddenly decided to produce so much milk that I am soaking through my pads and my bras AND my tops (so much for the pigeon breast pads hey Princessmya?!?! Heheheh!!) THe other day I couldn't work out how DD#2 got all wet up her front when I was feeding her and then realised that I had let down so much milk that the 3 layers - pad, bra & top - were not enough to save her from a milk soaking!!!!!! LOL!!!!
Hope all are getting their windy bubbies sorted and getting that precious rest.
Oh charly frog! isnt it a shocker... i find that all the time! i think oh now she must be dribbling then look down and nope... i am leaking like a water feature.
I really find the riteaid ones are good (if they are in the right spot) and i wear a sports bra to bed to keep them in place at night . I do this because i find if i roll on my side on belly the boob i am leaning on .. yep you got it leaks everywhere!
As for the avent reusable... they are in the box never to appear again! lol
I hope your little one gets better soon and the vomiting stops. I find after a feed i need to keep ashley laying down for about 5-10 minutes before i pick her up to feed and this usually stops the vomits post feed. perhaps the milk settles a bit better rather than coming straight back up.
We have family starting to arrive this week (they are flying up to stay with us in drips and draps over the next month) so i hope DD enjoys their company and keeps well!
Hugs to you charlyfrog - and yes keep that mattress on an angle!. THat should help with any reflux too !
