as a reply to the sleeping through the night. seth has slept throught the night since he was about 6 weeks old. goes to bed at 10-10.30 and wakes around 7.30-8
luvin it
jo- glad to hear that mick is fine besides minor cuts and scratches!!! gosh what a freak out you must have had.
the self settling thing seems to be working during the day, but lastnight cohen sat in his cot after a bottle from 1:30 am till 3:15 this morn tilll i put him in our bed where he went straight to sleep within 10 mins!!! arghhhh!! what do i do???
Mel- Thanks for your concern Btw- your pic of the two little angels was gorgeous. They are both so cute!
I went okay I guess. As good as it gets. I got suspended from driving for 2 months and a $300 fine. Which really craps me. Since I spent $350 on Lionel Hutz to represent me. Iw ould've preferred a higher fine and less time off the road. For those of you who don't know. I got caught a few weeks ago, on 0.005 BAC which is the legal limit! But they felt the need to keep up thier quotas for the night and book me for it. I tried to make a point of saying that my toddler is in and out of hospital all the time and this will seriously impact on my role as a mother. But apprently being a mother is not as important has having a 'real' job. HMPF!!
Anyways it will at least force me to walk and take public transport for uni. I have decided I will reward myself with driving again, but being about 5kgs lighter and fitter from walking Just means that DH will be the driver to take us shopping etc. More of a punishment for him really.
Rustygirl- Know how hard it can be. When Seraya was about 6 weeks old I had to get her out of sleeping in our bed. I am glad I stuck it out. As my paed says, the longer you leave it the harder it will be. He made a point of saying that crying does not hurt them. I know its hard to hear them crying but it does get easier and less with time. I tought that it would be cruel and would teach them you won't be there for them but that really is a bit of bull fluff. Babies really don't have the emotional capacity or neural pathways established to feel like they are being abandoned. They are smarter then we give them credit for and soon work out if they cry, they get what they want. I am proud to say I stuck it out with both of the girls and the are best behaved now. They both have been able to self soothe from 6 weeks old. I never have to rock Seraya to sleep, neither does she rely on a dummy. It is only ever a little bit shaky when she is teething badly, but nurofen for babies and some booby milk fixes her up. :goodluck2: with it. I know its hard! Hope it works out for you and bubby.
Jo- Glad to hear Isabella is putting on weight again. I am pretty slack. I only weigh mine at needle dates. I can see her getting quiet chubby so that is good enough for me. Otherwise I think I would stress out too much. Riley might be getting used to having number 2 around. I know it would be a delayed reaction. But I know that India only recently went through the same thing. Could have been her molars, but a few other mothers seemed to think thats what they went through with their older siblings about 2-3 months after baby 2 came along. I guess the novelty wears off and they realise that they will never have all of mummys undevided attention again. She starting chucking 2yr old wobblys. Thankfully that only lasted a week!
Also sorry to hear about DH. Glad he is okay! That would've been rough for both of you! :hugs:
Hello to every one! Sorry must run. Seraya is looking for me and starting to get very vocal. She likes attention at 10pm every night. As long as you sit next to her she is happy. Strange. to all. SOrry I couldnt do more personals. must go. xx
Just a relatively quick one from me as Cam has just gone back to sleep after waking at 6am for his brekky ... time to take advantage of the situation and do some jobs round the house!
Jo - So very relieved and glad for you and your family that Mick is ok after his accident. Can't imagine how you would have felt on the drive to the hospital (to be honest, I hope I never do have to make "that drive"). Very, very scary stuff. Hope he's recovering well. Glad to hear Isabella has been a good girl for you, and hope that Flynn's night waking settles down soon. Cam's undergone a few changes on the boob too. About 60pc of the time he feeds "normally" (for us, that's 10 mins each side), but the rest of the time he'll only feed 10-15 mins max, constantly pull off and cry etc. Not sure what to make of it, but even after a 10 min feed he seems to get enough to last 3 or so hours. And he continues to put on weight steadily, so guess that's the main thing. Maybe BF fussiness is age related. I know Cam is more aware of his surroundings now ...
Reenie - A real bugger about the fine/suspension. In an attempt to cheer you up, I'll look on the "bright" side and say: "Well, at least it's only for 2 months" ... Sorry, not really cheering is it.
Not sure what HMPF stands for, but I assume they are words you can't write on BB?
Nina - and good luck with Cohen at night. I must be so lucky as Cam (touch wood) really hasn't given me any problems at night other than the odd grizzly moment where he's almost asleep but grizzles if his dummy falls out and part wakes himself. When this happens (maybe once every week or two) I bring him into bed and he drops off to sleep straight away. So far this hasn't affected him settling/sleeping in his cot during the day or at night. As for Sunday Rose ... well, each to their own. Not necessarily what I'd choose, but then Nicole and Keith may not choose Cameron as a name either (iykwim) .
Gotta go as my little prince has decided a 20 min nap is all he wants!
Take care and have a good weekend.
Andie xx
