shell - poopy has been super clingy.. he doesnt have a fever or anything just that, and being restless. he's eyes say he's not himself... i gave a little panadol last night, he slept almost straightaway.
oh, this is hte syd meetup, it's fairfield so a bit of a drive
    https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...-new-post.html

gotta go to the MCN and then osteo..
    bbl

Maybe he is getting a tooth?? DJ still hasn't got his first tooth and has been teething for almost 2 months now.... ahhh the joys.... But it could possibly be a tooth, is he showing any of the signs that he might be getting one?

Oh the Syd meet-up I might be able to come along with DJ depends on the time. Couldn't find a time on that discussion..... I am taking DJ to Gymbaroo for the first time on Monday so could go there afterwards depending on the time everyone was going.... Are you going?

Hope all goes well with MCN and osteo.... which reminds me I have to book in to see MCN as well...and the osteo.

Just got back from the gp. Jesse has a viral rash called pityriasis rosea.
It's wierd coz Jaz has a viral rash as well. Molloscum contagiosum. Jesse's look like ring worm/eczema & are not contagious. It will run its course in 6 - 12 weeks, Jaz's look like little skin tags & are only contagious in warm water, but will last anywhere from 6 - 18 months.
I think its odd that they both have these viral skin contitions, but they are so different.
The gp wasn't too worried though.

I still haven't started Jazz on finger foods. Only today I've taken 2 lots of food to daycare to see if she's ready for 2 meals a day. I'm trying to put of finger foods for now, might wait another week until she's at 6 months. I'm not ready for her to have proper food yet.

We are participating in a nourish study about babies and all forms of feeding so there are 2 types of diaries I need to keep: One is to be done at daycare for food and drinks she has while not in mine or Matt's care, the other is on 2 specific days in our care. The people doing the study are meant to ring and tell me what days to do but I can only do Sat & Sun coz that's when I have her all day. They weighed and measured both Jazz & me yesterday. Jazz was 5.8kg when we were at the hospital a couple of weeks ago, now she's 6.3kg. Can't remember her length, but I got them to write it all in the blue book.

Matt's taking her for her 6 month check up & needles on Thursday. He's a bit nervous about having her for the whole day while I'm at work so I wouldn't be surprised if he rings me heaps. I told him that I think it would be a good idea if he gives her at least one meal of solids on the weekend so he knows what to expect on Thursday. I told him that it takes ages and even though it might seem like she's had enough, it doesn't always mean she has had enough. It'll be interesting and will really show if he's ready for us to drop 1-2 days of day care. He wants to drop some day care but he's not quite ready to take her yet.

    Hi girls,

All good here, DJ seems to be on the end of his cold, only a few sniffles, seems to be worse in the morning or when it is cold at night, so just keeping him warm. Just gave him some lentils and vegetable puree and he loved it. I even loved it yummmm I got a fresh packet of organic ready made stuff to give it a go, no preservatives etc... Thought I would let him try before I go and make a big batch of it. At least I know he likes it. So, tomorrow I have to get some more baby cube trays for the freezer and get cooking kehehe I want to make a big batch of purees before I return to work next week.

Danni - I haven't introduced finger foods yet either, I find the purees easier at the moment. I am too scared of him choking on it..... Might give it a go tomorrow with a stick of brocoli.

Skye - poor Jesse and Jaz hope they get better soon

Well back to DJ have a nice night girls.

skye - poor jesse did the gp prescribe anything?

shell - not sure about going to fairfield on monday.. it's been a long week already....
    glad dj is feeling better...

poopy was clingy cos of his needles.. he seems better today. mil said today, his gums feel harder now than they did befoe we went OS so he should be teething soon.
he's also started to spit with a vengence. this morning he spat his breakfast at me and i was splattered in yogurt. he didnt mind it, he ate it all up, but he does that spitting thing on and off, eating and not eating.
i'm going to wait for finger food. next week, im going to see how mashed food go. im going start fish as well. MIL makes really yummy soup, so when i go next week, we're going to give him some vegie soon, it'll have onion and garlic and all.
i also got some low salt stock, im going to try to cook chicken in it and blend it up.

im so exhausted. poopy;s having 3 solids now. im just finding it's taking so much more time. i was late going to the mcn so didnt have time to see the nurse cos i had to go to the osteo. he had a bf in the morning, then some vaalia yogurt w banana. i left him w mil when i went to the osteo. he had a milk there. got home, gave him some lunch, then bf.

we went out to get his car seat, we got a maxi rider AHR at babies galore at 10%off. then gave him his dinner and then milk.
I just feel im constantly feeding him.. it's exhausting. and i find i have to now get ready an extra hour earlier than before if i want to give him solids and milk.
instead of 4,5 meals before now it's 8 meals a day.
sorry im having a really down day..
my lupus is getting me down and tired and worn out.
the osteo said some of my lumbars aren't working very well, and there's hardly any reflex in my left foot. my feet are over compensating.... basically my back is buggered, and everything's on my foot.
he said something must have gone wrong during my development days.

time for beddy byes.. i'm sorry this is a whinge post...

    Prama

I don't think I will make Fairfield City Farm either, taking DJ to Gymbaroo on Monday and I think i will be meeting a friend that I haven't seen in years as well.....

Argh immunisations..... DJ is due his in next few weeks as well, not looking forward to it.

Wow that sounds like alot of work.... I am giving DJ two solid meals per day (rice porridge and vege puree of some kind) but he still is only having around 5 teaspoons so not large amounts. With his formula feeds he is still having 6 feeds per day, and drinks around 140-180ml each time. All depends. He is definitely getting hungrier.

My back is also stuffed from pregnancy. I have to see my osteopath as well, my knees and ankles are stuffed and figured out it is because my back, hips etc are all out of wack. Hope you feel better sweetie.

Hope you get some good rest tonight. You need to rest up. If you can, try to get a sleep while Poopy is sleeping, even if it is only 20 mins. You need to make sure you take care of yourself.

    Morning

Re the solids... If you are thinking of introducing finger foods you need to stop the puree as the two methods are so different, one you feed your baby, the other they feed themselves. Honesty if you are finding the puree stuff hards, maybe switch to the other method, it is far less time consuming as you dont really need to cook anything different from what you are having.
Today MJ is going to have fruit and our left over dinner which was cauliflower and macaroni cheese (a very slack cooking days yesterday, but i did work all day for DH at the factory) and maybe some avocardo or hommus on toast. It is far less work and also as you dont feed them, you can either sit and have your lunch or meal with them Or can be preparing dinner or something - MJ has her dinner i n the kitchen while i am preparing ours (she has her dinner at about 5pm otherwise she is too tired)
BUT BLS is not for everyone, there is a bit of mess to cleanup afterwards (i have to mop under MJ afterwards and also her high chair needs a good wipe down) You need to do waht suits you thou...
Danni and Shell, if you are thinking of going down this track, you need to make sure that your daycare is happy to continue feeding this way as finger feed is very different to spoon fed by someone else iykwim - Do what you are comfortable with
I will post the link to the BLS thread that has been started

Prama - sorry to hear that your lupus is playing up, can you do anything for it? My back is also stuffer - too many years of nursiing i am afraid, funnily it was the best it ever was when i was pg!!! maybe i will have to get UTD soon

Skye - sorry to hear about the viral rashes, are the bothering the kiddies? how weird that they both hve different ones. I hope Anth considers moving for you - must be hard feeling s isolated

    Bron?trina - how are you?

gotta go, the house is stiring - grrrh i am meant to have 10 more mins !!!!

Hey SJ i have been giving Summer finger foods cheese, toast etc and not fully pureeing her food and some things are too slippery so put chunks of pear or whatever in her mouth and it is heaps easier.

    Heres the link... https://www.bellybelly.com.au/forums...formation.html

Trina - what to say, Im sorry :hugs: At least things are nice (if you can call it that) between the two of you. How are the kids taking it? A Bron says, you know whats going on and can make plans and well get on with your life, You have pretty much been living a single woman anyway, so at least you know that you will cope... you will do a fantastic job and at least no one can let you down this way.
I wont go on, you know we are here for you if you need a vent or what ever. Take care of yourself

the slippery food is so funny, as MJ is also teething, she will forget that she has food in her hand and rub her ear - she ended up with avocado everywhere yesterday lol

Trina, so sorry. I do hope the transition is smooth for everyone and that you can move on with your lifes.

I was annoyed at Matt this morning. He's meant to get up to Jazz on weeknights. He got her up and changed her nappy/fed her before he went to bed at about 11pm last night and then didn't get up again. Meanwhile, I got up 4 times before 6am to put the dummy in her mouth. So when it was time for me to get up at 6am, I made as much noise as I could. I closed my glasses case (which is spring loaded) really loudly, I took half the quilt off Matt when I got out of bed, I shut the door loudly and when I was getting my clothes I made sure I shut the wardrobe and all the drawers loudly too. It didn't work though, he was really out of it and didn't stur! I'm gonna ring him now to make sure he's up. I'm totally wrecked and having a coffee which I don't normally do.

I might make him get up tonight even though it's my turn coz it's the weekend.

Trina - I'm glad the girls took it ok. It sounds like it'll be pretty easy to do. Well not easy, but no fighting over the kids or anything like that.
I hope it stays that way.
Good luck girl. Make sure you keep checking in so we know you are ok.
    Good luck.

Sorry guys. Will be back later. Busy day. Gotta go to Gil - about an hour away - to pick up my sister coz Dad threw his back out again. Well thats his excuse. He always seems to have an excuse to make us go to him.

Prama - is poopy crying and still asleep?
MJ does this, i go in and check and she is still asleep - maybe the dreams are kicking in now???
the other night she cried and so i raced in (it was an urgent cry) and she looked at me, smiled and then turned her head away and went back to sleep... It could be that they just need to know that we are still around??? dunno
