Went to doctors and DJ has a mild bronchilitis and needs the asthma puffer, but with the use of a spacer and mask of course.... poor little darling..... looks like he will have asthma like me. Mine is pretty mild, not too bad, so hopefully his is just like mine only comes around when sick. He is still pretty happy and cheerful though, so that is a good sign. I got a pill prescription finally too so once aunt flow arrives I will be back on the pill again.
Prama - oh wow on the big 12 hour sleep hope he will do that for you this week while Steve is away that is great you will be seeing Steve's mum tomorrow it will be a nice break for you. But yeah the nights are very hard that is for sure. I am hoping DJ's bronchilitis don't cause him to wake up too much tonight because I have work tomorrow arghhhh so fingers crossed. I had to wash the spacer and mask before using it on him, so hopefully it will be dry shortly. Can't use towels or anything to dry it. Hopefully that will help so he isn't wheezing...
I better go got to start getting stuff organised for tomorrow.
oh shell - poor little dj, i really hope he sleeps thru tonight.. poor darling bubba.. it must be bothering him....
if im drying stuff, and dont want to use a towel, i use the hair dryer, could you try that for spacer and mask?
i guess it's a bit of a catch 22, it's hard for you if dj doesnt sleep well, and you have to go to work. and it's really hard to concentrate at work when you're buggered.
Thanks Prama, it dried on time. He is really sleepy after each time I use it and it makes him unsettled. A friend of mine said their little girl had to go through the same thing and they get used it it, it is just different for them and they get used to the feeling of it etc..... I do hope he sleeps well tonight, otherwise I will just have to have alot of coffee at work tomorrow haha One positive is the wheezing in his breathing has settled down a bit YAY
Shell - I wouldn't worry too much about DJ getting asthma.
First of all, its hard to diagnose under 2 coz their airways are so small any way. So can develop wheezing easier than older kids & adults.
2nd, docs some times prescribe ventolin of some sort simply to help the air ways open. If it was to do with asthma you'd probably be told to look into a nebuliser & have a preventative puffer as well.
I was there with Jaz at 18 months. It took 6 months for them to agree it was asthma.
My friend that is in England for the next month sent her DP over yesterday with some homeopathic pillues for Molly Jane to help with her teething... what an awesome friend!!! she had a dose when she work for the 3rd time last night and has slept ever since. Hopefully it works Trying to avoid Panadol totaly as there is a like between early use and Asthma
Prama - I dont HAVE to stay away, but as it is an intensive 4 day course 9am-5pm we decided that with the travel time etc and having to study in the evening AND DH on this massive job, so not able to help with MJ , that it would be better for me to stay away for the first 2 nights so that i can focus on the course and get some quality sleep.
Its going to kill me, but i know that it is the better option for all of us... MJ will get all the love and attention that she needs and that one on one time and i will get some sleep and be able to study without feeling guilty about neglecting her (although i still will )
Still its only 4 days, and i am coming home Sat night, so will see her then, and then it will be all over on sunday arvo.
Shell - hope DJ is OK, i do agree with Skye however, its more likely that he was presrcibed ventolin to help with his airways than anything else. Try not to worry (easier said than done thou)
A day of cleaning and organising for me today me thinks
have a good one everyone
