Haroula - I have a Avent bp and I find it good for what I need ( I don't express much). Lots of my friends swear by electric pumps. You can hire electric pumps, try ABA or your local chemist.

I've got an Avent Isis (manual) pump, and it's ok.. depends how much you want to express. I must admit I fell in love with electric pumps whilst in hospital, since I was pumping all the time with a prem baby. So I'd probably vote for an electric one. They're expensive tho, so yeah - hiring is probably a good way to go

Will have to go back and read the last thread I think

ok I have it open in another tab.. Lets see if I can keep up.. lol.. you were all chatty

Trish: I wouldn't worry about Tehya having a dummy.. they throw it awa eventually. Ethan was a horrendous sleeper and it got worse just before we took it away. He would wake a gazillion times a night cus it would fall out of his cot..

The growth spurt thing makes sense cus my poor boobs have been getting a workout. Plus her weight gain has been awesome.. I do hope she slows down with the feeding though as my nips are sore..

nah I woke DH at 8am but i had cooked pancakes for brekky He has been so great though dealing with the boys and getting up to them every morning.. Was only fair I let him have one sleep in but I was just cranky cus I was tired He goes back to work on Friday.. and night shift on Sunday and Monday.. So not looking forward to that. He has been home nearly 2 months

Michelle: I think I am going to be one tired mummy too when my DH goes back to work Friday. I have had it way to easy

Haroula: Congrats on the birth of your bub On the breast pump I highly recommend the electric ones.. (medela is what I used) You can hire from a medical supplier or ABA..

ps Chrissie is gorgeous.. you look great too very tired though lol.
    .

Bek: Olivia is still windy too. She has been ok today but boy her farts are so loud and she screams occasionally when she does one I have been avoiding going outside when it is really windy or covering her right up when getting out of the car ect,, Are you trying any wind meds.. like infants friend or any of the other brands, I don't know what else is out there as I use Infants friend..

Well I had a pretty good day. We took our neice back to MIL ( she is visiting for a week) The boys have been pretty good. We went to SIL yesterday for a swim. I got a little swim in before Olivia called. It was so nice though. Tempted to take Olivia in but she is still tiny and apart from the cold water it is to hot in the sun.. Plenty of time for swimming in the years to come

Check out this pic we got of Ethan.. I think it looks creepy He looks like he is coming out of the water

Bugger, this will be quick coz I just wrote a message and accidentally lost it! And now I can hear Olivia starting to stir.

Welcome to all the late December babies and their mummies. There seems to be lots of us now.

Olivia has a dummy. The hospital nursery suggested getting one when she was regularly demanding food and then not eating it while she was sleeping in there during my hospital. She likes it for comfort between meals. I don't really see anything wrong with it as long as she doesn't still have it when she is 10!

Gotta go, she is up and loud and hungry :-) Have put a family pic in my gallery (first time I have done my hair and makeup in 4 weeks!)

Oh it was a shake and bake pancake mix then I served them with whipped cream, nuttella and jam :lick:

Question time.... Why would Olivia have a nice feed then sit up buro look around and quietly throw the whole lot up again? did it come out to fast? She seemed quite happy but it just drained out of her..

Hi everyone, i cant believe i havent posted in a whole thread!
Im finding it soo hard to get time to myself atm.
Ash is a fantastic sleeper and eater, but doesnt sleep long durning the day, guess i cant complain cos hes so good at night.

Is anyone sleeping with there bubs in there bed? I think Ash sleeps better with me, but i find myself waking every 2 mins to check if hes ok. im even buying a night light i can keep on all night now so i dont have to keep turning a light on! i know its sooo bad.

Nic - Whats the infants friend? is it ok for newborns? Ash is getting terrible wind atm its really upsetting him, but im cautious of using any drugs for him.

Well i better go, My mums been an absolute life saver with holding him just so i can do one thing a day to myself! Hope everyone is doing well with there little ones! next time i get on ill have to check out all the pics and update some of my own

hey Lauren Infants Friend is a natural product and can be used from birth. I give Olivia 10 drops which is about .5ml. I have only used it a few times but those times helped.. I do co sleep with her after the early morning feed. I wake too often checking on her as well. I do have one of those little beds that goes in the bed with you so will have to put that close tonight and see if I sleep better.

I have found something that makes Missy very happy The swing. she really likes it SO hopefully once DH goes back to work tomorrow ( ) I will be able to get things done

    Hi Ladies
Sorry I seem to be missing in action for quite some time just don't seem to get the time to post a lot these days though I do read everyones posts I soon forget whom wrote what

Buzzie yep Olivia will go down in her bassinette at the begining of the night but as soon as she wakes up for a feed into our bed she comes.. I just find it easier and better for both of us...

Olivia wakes every 2 hrs to 2 1/2 hrs for a feed as well which is very tiring I found she gets a lot of wind from me as myu milk has a very fast elt down which makes her cough and choke so yesterday did a experiement to see if I expressed and put into a bottle would that help and yep it did hardly any wind pain cries.....

So darn hot here today I am perspiring something shocking and Olivia don't the heat either poor baby... The cold water in the taps is very hot and it takes forever to cool down basically I can fill the whole bath and the water is still too hot for her...

Can I ask you ladies how long you all bleed for after your baby birth..With my other 2 it was only 2 weeks max this time around I am still going very brown and horrible but not heavy just annoying

Go to go daughter wants to play games (older one that is)

    yet another question

Olivia has a hard lump under her booby area. I assume it is a hormonal thing but just want to make sure. It also looks like a little white spot where her nipple is.. Is that all normal?

And daddy is so happy she finally fell asleep on him just now Olivia is a little fussy and only settles really well for me..

Hi girls, lots of questions happening on here atm.

Nic, I would say that the lump is totally normal hun. And yes a hormonal thing. See even at this age we can blame it on the hormones. Perhaps Olivia over gutsed herself, or she had a good pocket of wind in her stomach and then the milk went in on top of it. When she burped it all came back up ??
I had a swing for Tehya, but Noah used to like to push her in it so she used it rarely. I sold it and really wish that I hadn't. Abbey loves motion, the car, pram, being walked with. However I'm sure if I had a swing for her I wouldn't be able to use it much either. Tehya would soon put a stop to it.

Teena, for me it's generally aroudn the 6 week mark for bleeding. I am still spotting occassionally now, not really much, just have to wear a liner in case. Back into the g strings though, the full briefs were killing me, make my butt too hot

Lauren, Abbey starts the night out in her basinette but when she wakes for that first feed after I am in bed she comes in for the remainer of the night. I have the nappies on my bedside so all duties are performed with me still in my bed, then we roll over and feed to sleep. Works great for me. Means I get more sleep and I think it's a great way to establish a good milk supply with bub.

Louise, good to hear that you are back safely, even if you are tired. OMG I can't imagine doing that drive with my kids.

Alicia, gorgeous picture hun. How nice is it to have your hair and make up done. LOL. The small things in life hey.

Abbey had a crappy day yesterday and of course it's a day when there was no one to hand her over to for a break. DP has taken Brandon, Noah and Tehya away for a few days camping. Bring Teh back tomorrow and getting Joel then off again until Sunday. It's nice to have the break but I have no one to say Here you go, hold her while I do ..... This morn I was walking around the house in my bra and undies with Abbey in the sling, hanging from my boob like a monkey while I ironed my clothes and got her bath stuff ready. She barely slept all day yest and finally went down at 8.30pm, on the very upside, she slept until 4 am !!

Today, apart from this mornings sook fest she has been good, fed and slept most of the day. I hope she's not up half the night now. Am very tired tonight.

I went to the hairdressers yesterday and had a good mop chop. My hair was 3/4's down my back and now it's shoulder blade length. My split ends had split ends so it was in dire need of a chop. But so much length is gone. Thank god I can still tie it back. Takes too much time to blowdry it.

Lauren - Olivia sleeps in her bassinet at night but then after her feed in the morning we have a littel sleep together in the 'big bed' lol. Poor DH though, coz I won't let him sleep in bed with her as he sleeps like an absolute log and flails around a bit so I am worried he would squish her.

Nic - What sort of swing do you have? We are thinking of getting one of the bouncy seats that hangs from the door frame when LIvi is a bit older. My sister had one for my nephew and he loved it as he was such an active baby, as Livi is - she never stops moving!!!

Well little Miss Livi has started to change her schedule the last few days. Usually she eats and then naps but now after eating she is wide awake for about an hour. Tonight, since her dinner at 7:30ish, we have read a book, I sang her some songs and she has played in her bouncy chair and she is still awake and focused. I didn't think babies this age focused for so long.

On the me front I had a check-up with my surgeon today and he seems to think that my wound is starting to heal well and that in another month I will be feeling much better. It is slow going but at least it was positive news. I have to go back again next week so hopefully the news then is just as good.

Olivia has her next Maternal Health visit tomorrow. I am going to ask about the wind issue (which lots of us seems to be having). Olivia gets windy during eating and it is making her a bit distressed at times. It seems like she is really trying to push out farts that just don't want to come.

You have no idea how jealous I am

Thanks for the reply on the booby lump. I assumed it was hormonal. I am due for my 6 week check so if it is still there then I will get the Dr to have a look at her for me

Olivia has been asleep since 7pm.. Now thats a good thing but I was planning on going to bed early tonight and get up with DH at 5 when he has to go to work but I have this horrible feeling I am in for a bad night..

oh and just one thing to add. I bought a crib light voice activated thing off ebay the other week and I love it. Olivia woke at midnight the other night and it came on. the light comes on and the sound is like a beating heart.. She went back to sleep till 2am
