Thanks for the birthday wishes I am not doing anything special for my birthday today, but maybe on the weekend we will do something. DH came home today in a helicopter and small plane so that was a nice thing to happen today. I also think I may have gotten a speeding fine today I was going through a 40km zone and I was going 50. I didnt see it flash so I have my fingers crossed I wasnt caught! Stupid school zones!! I really need to NOT lose my license especially since I have to drive around for Claire sometimes!

Caro omg, i hope the doctor can give you some GOOD news. but YAY on the possible end of that awful reflux for Michael!

Rachel, cool about the playmat for Grace. We got one for Claire and she seems to enjoy it. Good luck with your weight loss journey.

Karina, how great DH is home... WOOHOO!! I'm glad

Caro, it's great Michael is getting better. Pardon my ignorance but wth are buggered chops???

Anyone else feeling really lethargic lately? I've found the past week that I've suddenly just become soooo tired and my eyes are sore and I feel a bit blocked up in my sinuses but by around 4ish pm I start to come a bit better... any ideas??

Oh and yep, Oskar dribbles like a trooper sometimes and blows bubbles... most annoying when he's all clean...lol.

Hello...Karina glad DH is home. Hope you didn't get a fine, that would be a pain.

Cass..I have been tired recently but I have been going to bed late and getting up early too.

Caro...we got a tiny love one that plays music and stuff. There are so many out there that it was such a hard decision. Glad Michael is feeling better - you would definitely be able to sell the hammock. Thinking you have ovarian cancer would be a very stressful thing - why do you think this? I hope that it is definitely not the case.

Had our last official mother's group today so as of next week we are meeting at each others houses each week which will be good. The group of ladies are really nice so I am looking forward to keeping up the meetings. Needless to say I blew my ww points today with all the yummy treats that everyone brings! I'm writing thursdays off as my 'bad' day! It is so cold here tonight. I am feeling cold but don't want to turn the heater up as we have already wrapped Grace and put her to bed and don't want her to get too warm!

Hi Rachel, I'm a blue Aunty to Sebastian, she did such a great job only 4 hrs of 'real labour' apparently but I rang at 11am and her contrax were 5-10min apart and she sounded like she was in 'real labour' then

Hi Caro - Yep, got your email, and I think we should make it another week. I would hate for you to finally have Michael's reflux under control only to get gastro! OMG about the ovarian cancer. You must be so stressed! I would be too if I was in your situation, I don't handle those types of things well. I really hope all the tests are negative!

Happy birthday Karina! I am glad to hear you had a good day and got your hubby back.

I can't remember what else was said now as I have been out of action for a couple of days as Jas has had gastro. Poor little princess, she was so sick, I just wanted to cry with her! Yesterday, she just layed on the couch all day and I had to carry her to the toilet as she was really dizzy and weak. We both had no sleep on Tuesday night, but she couldn't sleep at all on Wednesday either as she had really bad stomach cramps and every time she fell asleep, she would wake up 5 mins later needing to vomit. Anyway, she was much better today and has been able to eat and has a lot more energy. So, we have been housebound for two days and not been doing much of anything else! Now I am just waiting for the next one of us to come down with it.

On the subject of gastro, did anyone have the rotavirus immunisation? It is the oral one for a particular strain of gastro. I am picking up a script for Nicholas next week as it is not yet on the immunisation register.

    Awww, Taia is so cute!!

Caro, no I don't have a slow cooker, but I have been thinking about possibly getting one.

Jo, I haven't had anyone mention that immunisation to me either. I think Saram was getting it done though?? Isn't that the one which has something to do with mozzies?? I can't remember doh!

Sarah, yay on being a blue aunty!! How exciting Not much gap in the ages either. Do they live near you?

Cass, great to hear from you again!! I was only thinking last night how you and Izzy were going! Great to hear you're both doing so well.

Jo - glad to hear Jasmyn is doing better, poor thing, that would be horrid. Hope no-one else gets it. Haven't had that immunisation mentioned but I do remember Sarah talking about it a while ago.

Hi Cass, glad to hear you are both well. You sound so happy in your post, motherhood obviously agrees with you. Enjoy tassie.

Nat, yay on the 8 hour sleep. did you get that sleep too!! Pics are gorgeous, she is growing up!

I am sooo tired today, don't know why really. Now I am really pooped as I have been battling with Grace all day to try to get her to sleep in her cot. She has been fine when she is awake and will fall asleep easily in my arms but then wakes as soon as I put her in her cot. So tiring. It is so tempting just to pick her up and hold her but then she will never learn to sleep in her cot in the day. She has just gone down in her cot about 10 minutes ago, this was the second attempt so fingers crossed she stays peacefully asleep until her next feed. Went for another walk today and she was so good, awake the whole time sitting up in her pram sucking her hand just looking around. Only had to stop briefly 3 times to give her the dummy when she became grizzly. We are getting somewhere with that! Went through Grace's draws today and have put all the clothes that no longer fit her into a bag - very sad to say goodbye for now to some of her cute clothes! Needed to make room for all of the new clothes she has been lent! Poor little thing hasn't pooed for over 2 days now, she usually poos daily, she must be feeling yucky from that. i know that it is not a concern in breast fed babies for up to 10 days but she is farting a lot so i'm sure there is a big one wanting to come out!! Hopefully we'll see one tonight. Aaaahhh, the things we wish for nowadays!! lol!! Hope everyone has a great weekend. Karina don't get blown away in the storms I heard were coming to Sydney tomorrow. Take care...

Sarah, congrats on becoming a aunty and how nice that Ariya will have a cousin so close in age to her.

    Rachel,
its ok to have some cake every now and then! I have such a sweet tooth! Hope Grace sleeps well and gets that poo out lol. Claires been doing less poos, but still does at least one each day.

Cass, yes i am feeling very lethargic. For me, i think the reason is that I am a bit dehydrated and probably not eating as well as I should be. MIL rang me the other day and reminded me to look after myself as she thinks I have lost too much weight.

Cass blob, yay on Izzy being more interactive! I am really liking Claire communicating more now. Thats great about your playgroup. Hope you enjoy visiting the family in tas.

Jo, good to hear Jas is feeling better now. I hope no one else in your house catches it. I have heard of this rotorvirus vaccine - someone at my mothers group mentioned it and said its not yet on the immunisation schedule, but its going on for babies born after June or something. I might be wrong though, but thats what this lady at mothers group said. I think it has something to do with Gastro.

Natty, Taia is such a little cutie!

I am so proud of Claire , she is starting to settle on her own now in her cot without needing me to cuddle/rock/booby her.

I am so not looking forward to tomorrow if the weather predictions are correct
more big rain, wind and storms like last weekend.

pmsl, I used to get asked all the time how my 'brother' was 3 months older than me!

hope you all haev a nice weekend!

Hi all, hope everyone is well.

Ariya is good and starting to get into a better routine as far as sleeping in the daytime which is helping her nightime sleeps too. Yes we are very excited about the new bub unfortunately they live in Toowoomba and we live in Townsville but we are going down to see them next week.

Caro - I think I pm you, postage on a wrap would be 5.00, yes it's 6m and made out of the same jersey as HAB although it would be about a month before I can make it now as we are going on holidays for 2 weeks and then it will take me about 2 wks to put it together.

Rachel - good luck on getting her to sleep in her cot but remember she is only 3 mths and you aren't going to start bad habits this early but I'm sure you'll do what feels right for you.

Cass_blob the playgop sounds good, I'm putting together a little playgroup myself too with bubs around Ari age, can't wait.

Jo - Ari had the rotavirus vaccine, cost a fortune but I think it is worth it as I am a teacher and I bring it home from school all the time but I think it is a bit like the flu vaccine and only protects against that one strain but it is the most dangerous strain.

Karina - that is awesome that Claire is settling herself!

Gosh I hate it when it goes to a new page I can never remember what was said.

    Hi all

Cass_Blob - Not forward at all! Chloe is my step daughter, but I don't usually refer to her as that. She is just my daughter, same as Jas, but it can be difficult to explain why the are only 4 months apart! She also calls me mummy, and lives with us full time, and we don't like to use the terms "step" for our family.

Sarah - I hadn't heard of the rotavirus vaccine until some one at mother's group mentioned it so I asked my GP about it. He has not given it yet as it is not on the immunisation schedule (so not free yet) and thinks that maybe the cost of it is what is stopping people from getting it. It will be on the schedule from June this year, so babies born in May will be offered it for free. I am going to get it anyway as the girls are always picking up viruses and bugs and I would rather Nic was protected from this particular one. Luckily, he hasn't (so far) caught whatever Jas had, and the rest of us are ok for now too! (touch wood!!!)

Hi everyone else, sorry I can't remember what everyone else wrote now. My mum came to babysit the kids last night as we went out to a surprise birthday dinner. It is the first time we have been out since Nic was born. It was a good night and we got home at about 11.30pm. Mum said Nic was easier to look after than the girls as they kept trying to tell her that they were allowed to stay up late and "mummy says we can do ....". Luckily, my mum had 4 girls, so she knew all the tricks! Cheeky buggers!!

    Hello...

Karina - you didn't get blown away did you? The news showed some pretty severe damage around Sydney. Yep, cake is ok every now and then - daily is not the way to go though! I think I've been pretty good this week so the scales better show something on Monday or else!! How do I order one of those?! Grace will settle herself after her feed in the wee hours but not any other time - weird huh!

Sarah - fighting with Grace to get her to stay in her cot does so not feel right - I was tired and teary last night because of the stress of it all day (well that's what I think it was). Today has been a better day but we only put her into the cot twice - once after morning feed and she stayed for an hour and then DH got her up to play. Then we went for a really big walk after her next feed so she slept in the pram for an hour. She actually went down after the next feed after falling asleep in my arms of course. I didn't wrap her like normal, I just threw the wrap around her and placed her on her side, she curled herself up and fell asleep for about an hour and a half. I was a bit worried though because when she curled herself up she toppled herself forward and she was pretty much laying prone - her nose and mouth were free from the mattress but I was still worried (so was DH), we were checking on her every 10minutes!! lol!! We'll get there I know that much!

Jo, glad you had a good night. It is nice to have some couple time occasionally.

Well, my poor little girl still hasn't pooed, it has now been 4 days. I know that 10 days is not unusual for a BF baby but she seems so not herself. She is continuously grunting and bearing down as if she is trying to poo and she is a bit more grizzly than usual. She has also gone a bit strange overnight. Usually she is really eazy to get down in the evening with a feed, bath/play and then bed - put dummy back in a couple of times then that's it until between 3 and 5am. The last few nights she has taken up to 2 hours to get down in the evening. then she has woken up multiple times overnight. Last night she went down at 8pm (after 2 hours of trying to settle her). She woke at 12.30 - gave dummy. She then woke at 1.40 - DH checked nappy as we were thinking maybe she finally pooed - nup. So he tried to settle her for a half an hour when we decided I should just feed her - so fed at 2.30 and back to bed at 3.15 (she was still awake in her cot and I could hear her talking for another half an hour). She woke again at 4.30am - gave dummy. Finally some decent sleep and she woke at 8am and talked away for 20 minutes before crying. This is very unusual for her but this has been the go for the last 3 nights (ever since she didn't poo). We have 3 things we are thinking it could be. Number 1 is the not pooing and she is just plain uncomfortable (i know I was beside myself when I didn't go for 5 days after she was born!!). Number 2 is she doesn't want to be wrapped up tight anymore as she keeps trying to get her hands out - so we are wrapping her loosly with the plan to get rid of wrap and put her into sleeping bag. Number 3 is that the room was too hot as we turned the heater in her room down after the 4.30 wake up and that is when she slept better. Rang the 24 hour CHN number today for some advice over the not pooing thing and was told lots of play on the floor as exercise gets the bowels moving, massage and relaxing baths. Have tried all of these so here is hoping something happens soon. Was told not to worry unless she goes over 10 days, refuses to feed or won't settle. Poor little possum, I am praying for a massive poo! lol!

Got some good news that a friend of ours is pregnant - due December 28. I said she is more of a fertile bunny than me - she came off the pill 2 days before her wedding, went on her honey moon the next week and fell pregnant 2 weeks later!! pmsl!! They wanted to get pregnant but were both very suprised at how quickly it happened. So she is 12 weeks and is starting to feel better (bought back horrible memories of fatigue and nausea - do you remember those days girls!!). Grace and I are going to see her tomorrow whilst DH sleeps. Everyone's having babies!!

Have a good night girls - praying for a good one here as DH is at work. Grace has now been down for 30 minutes which is better than any other night so may go and attempt to cook my dinner (pray pray pray!). Oh, haven't tested yet but I am pretty positive that we are safe and are not having to face the thought of 2 under 1, no symptoms at all, so much relieved about that - will still test though of course, just in case.
