Cass - my mum is exactly the same, always wanting to know when we are going out so she can babysit. She knows i'm BF she just says - express - as if it is that easy! Did you manage to get the cat wee smell out of your jackets? My top is still soaking (3rd change of water) and I can still smell cat wee, still not happy with him. Hmmm, might have to check out baby gates at Target if they are half price. We need one for the laundry as that is where the cat tray is.Not sure what to do about the kitchen as there are 3 entrances and they are much wider than the average entrance. Is it possible just to make the kitchen a no go zone when the oven is on (its a floor oven) and teach this from early on?

Bec - I've heard the Actavite thing too - although have to say it hasn't worked for me, but i think you need to be having it multiple times a day for it to be effective. There is a thread somewhere on increasing your supply as that is how i found out about actavite. Good luck with that though. good luck with school, it'll all come back to you.

Karina - I'm the same, i couldn't leave Grace to go back to work yet. It's too long. I don't want to miss anything. WTG Claire on the rolling. Congrats to your cousin. I hope she gets the little girl she so wants.

Sarah - I so feel for you, I know I should be thankful that Grace's off nights are not all the time but it is so tiring. How you do it all I have no idea - wonderwoman? Haven't worked it out I'm afraid, there doesn't seem to be a reason that we can find, she has some good nights and then other bad ones.

Jo - thanks for that. Your course sounds good - gives me a good idea on topics to cover for my mother's group. My back has gotten worse unfortunately, went to the physio yesterday which helped but i am going to need more sessions. It is so painful when I am holding Grace and trying to get her onto the breast. I am so annoyed at myself. Due to a previous back injury I am so anal about protecting my back and lifting etc properly. The frustrating thing is is that i have no idea when I did it. Maybe it is just accumulative from playng with Grace? Who knows, i just hope it gets better soon.

Does this sound normal? Occasionally Graces hands go blue - i'm not talking mottled, i'm talking blue - cyanosed blue. At first we thought it was associated with being held under the arms for prolonged period of time and that maybe we were cutting the circulation off, which was a worry, but now we are wondering whether it is when she gets really cold as it happened yesterday when we were holding her under her bum on my hip. She isn't bothered by it but i have to say i am slightly concerned. When it happened yesterday we turned the heater on and held her hands and they pinked up. does this happen to anyone else? We are hoping it is just from the cold but it really freaked us out the first time we saw it, and now we're not sure whether to be concerned or not.

Going to a baby session at the movies tomorrow with Jessica and Tait to see knocked up. Should be a bit of fun. I've also heard the movie is an absolute hoot.

We, it must be bed time i think. have a good night everyone.

Well gals we have a tooth! Top right, I know my children are freaks they never cut teeth in the right order and she is cutting her botom left too (so she is going to look really funny when they come all the way through) so I guess that's what all the screaming has been about - feeling bad as I had no idea until last night when it popped through.

Rachel - I do remember hearing something about the hands going blue as ari's were blue at birth, from what I remember it wasn't too much of a problem but I would def check at health clinc or dr

Karina - oh yeah on the new stroller, sounds good. Oh I have to ring my employer and figure out what I am doing about work - still haven't decided how many days I want to go back.

Bec - good luck with expressing. I second the double electric from the ABA, being able to express both sides at once makes expressing much quicker and easier. Have you tried sampling different formulas and mixing half and half? DS was never big on formula when I was at uni and used to just have a little out of the bottle and make up for it when I got home.

Cass - hope your feeling better (and hope everything is OK?)

Wow Sarah, a tooth! hehe about how she'll have one on top and one on bottom. Claire has a little white hard spot on her bottom right at the front, and we think it could be a tooth, but not too sure.

Rachel, hope you enjoy the movie. Not too sure on blue hands. Claire doesnt get blue hands like you described, she does get mottled sort of blue hands when they are cold. I was thinking about the stove as well when Claire starts being mobile, and I was thinking of getting two gates and standing them up like a triangle (that probably sounds silly!!) around the stove as our entrance to the kitchen is wider than one gate.

Is anyone else finding their baby is barely sleeping during the day now? Claire sleeps probably about 2 hours during the day - about an hour in the morning around 9-10am and sometimes around 1-2pm. I have no idea if this is enough?
She is also demanding all of my attention all of the time!! I cant even go to the toilet without her calling for me! She just wants me to sit there and play for all of her waking hours, lol!!

Oh baby gates, guess I'll have to dig those out soon, yuk I hate tripping over those.

Karina - Ari has been sleeping better during the day but she has been very clingy, like oh what's it called .... seperation anxiety.

Gotta go clean the house, I have a lady coming over tomorrow to look at some nappies and don't want her to run screaming due to mess. Also I'm trying to put together my own mums group for next Thursday so going to have to keep it clean this week :-)

Hi everyone! I had a quick read last night but was too lazy to type anything...lol.

Karina, lol @ babysitting at 10 days old! PMSL @ whipping out a breast. You seriously made me laugh, but you're right!! Ahhh dear... need one of those strap on breast feeding things like in Meet the Fockers... was it?? Damn that was funny! As for the sleeping... yeah he does seem to stay awake for longer periods now. It's hard for me to say with sleeping times, cos he's always tended to just have short naps throughout the day.

Sarah, we bought a baby gate the other day from the Target sale for half price... now the thing is, the cat can't get through it either...lol. Don't know what to do about that. We also have to get a bigger one to go across 1.7m opening. I was watching one on ebay which would've been perfect but got distracted when it was finishing the other night and FORGOT!! Damn thing sold for only $31 too!! So I just look at it like the universe was telling me it wasn't the right one

Rachel, Oskar gets mottled skin but not blue. Personally I would probably have a little chat to your doc or MCHN. It does sound like something to do with circulation if they pink up with warmth.

Well, last night was my first "home alone" experience. Andy was in Bundaberg for work. I have to say I'm glad that it wasn't when Oskar was a little fella though. We were out pretty much all day yesterday, had bub group in the morning then wandered around the shops and had lunch with a couple of the mums and we got home around 4:30!! So, seeing as it was just the two of us we had a bath at 5 (usually this would be around 7:30 so Andy could bath him etc and have some dad time) then I fed him and he fell asleep for a while until I put him down. So, I had something to eat and he was just laying there having a chat. Then he started to get a bit whingy somewhere between 6:30 and 7pm so I gave him a feed and he fell asleep again. I put him down probably around 7:15.... by 9:30 I as getting nervous as I hadn't wrapped him and he'd fed more than an hour earlier than he would usually before going down for the night... and he was just on his belly next to me on the lounge and obviously I couldn't leave him there overnight. So, I carefully picked him up and wrapped him and he stayed asleep!! I was half expecting him to wake up as he usually would (during the day). I put him in his hammock and he still stayed asleep..... he slept through until 6:30 this morning!!! Mind you, I didn't ...lol. I woke several times to see if he was awake cos I was expecting him to wake a couple of hours earlier than normal cos he'd fed earlier last night. He went down a LOT easier than he does normally. I am wondering if it's not cos it was earlier in the night?? Problem is I don't really want to bring it forward like that cos Andy won't get to see him during the week if I do! So, I unsure what I should do now.

Sarah, good luck cleaning the house.. thats something I need to do but my brain feel fried and I just cant be bothered.

Cass, oh glad other babies dont do long naps during the day - makes Claire seem more normal! Thats great Oskar slept so well, but I agree that it would be a pity if you had to put him down for sleep that early every night and Andy couldnt have daddy time during the week.

We went to ECHN yesterday. Claire is now 5.7kg and the nurse said she iis doing really well developmentally. The nurse also runs talks at the centre (well not the same centre, the other one in the next suburb) and there is one soon on starting solids, so I am thinking of going along to that. I also told her Claire is still waking every 2-3 hours overnight and she said I should try spacing out her feeds making her wait longer and trying to get her to take both breasts. Usually, she will only have a small amount each feed and only from one breast and her feeds only last about 15 minutes at the most usually. Last night I managed to have her feed for a whole hour but she still woke up 2 times overnight. The nurse suggeted getting DH to get up to her in the night because when I do it, she just want milk straight away.. but I dont think hubby would do that. I am really feeling crappy with all this broken sleep.

Cass - your night sounds so relaxing, know what you mean about moving the routine around we need to get Ari in bed earlier but it just isn't practical.

Karina- wtg claire! DS used to wake every 2 hrs when he was a bub and I ebded up getting The No Cry Sleep Solution. My copy is currently lost in the twilight zone but she has sections based on age and whether your BF, co-sleeping etc. Good luck, my hubby wouldn't get up ither

    Heylo,
I've been deactivated out of bb for the week, had to change address and the activiation code stuffed up... wouldn't work, long story short i back lol...

Got izzy professional 4month photo's done this week, and might i say they are absolulty gorgeous, got them done through GFP studio's and they were wonderful! i can't wait to get them (in 2 weeks)...

I caught the stomach bug this week, it hasn't been nice at all, but luckily izzy hasn't seem to catch it, fingers crossed she doesn't!~!~! But you know what pizzed me of, when everyone heard that i was throwing up, it was automatically thought that i was pregnant! every single person including my mum, asked me! I got soo offended. Is that what it is going to be like now, when ever i get sick?

Got izzy into Aqua movement classes they start in 2 weeks... so that should be fun... went out shopping looking for togs, and I have a problem, i get a size 8-10 and the togs don't fit my boobs at all... i get size 12-14 and the boobs fit just nothing else? Grrr... I need big boob size togs, and can't find them!

Anyways im still feeling crappy, hope all is well, sorry i didn't do personals.

Oh Cass_blob I've had that bug too :-( twice now, yuck. I thought I was pg hehe and in answer to your question - yes! Once you have one bubba everyone assumes there will be another shortly after. Hope your feeling better soon

Cass, Hope youre feeling mych better now. How annoying that they all asked if you are pregnant again! Yay for aqua - I want to take Claire to swimming lessons. I am going to check if they have baby lessons at the local pool. Sorry, but had to laugh at your togs dilemma! I remember when I was pregnant and trying to find a one-peice togs to fit... er close to impossible task that was!! Any how, I would suggest getting a two peice so you can get a different size top and bottom, and then just wearing a singlet if you arent fond of showing everyone your tummy. Ooh I am going to get some professional photos done too, in a few weeks. I just want some nice ones and I am just so crappy at taking photos!

OMG today was one of the worst days ever. Claire jst screamed ALL day. It was so tiring and so hard to listen to her cry when nothing I was doing was helping her. DH has been out late every night this week - leaving at 7am and coming home at like 9pm - and I have told him no more and that he needs to put us first for a while, as I really need the help at the moment. We still think she is teething and as she was absolutely screaming for ages tonight, we gave her a dose of some teething relief stuff. Wow is all I can say! Within a minute she was settled, happy and smiling.

hoping for a few solid hours of sleep now.

Cass, you poor thing! I HATE throwing up with a vengeance!! That's why me and m/s aren't good partners...lol. I find it sooooo annoying if you happen to throw up or feel queasy that everyone assumes you're pg!! RUDE RUDE RUDE!! Glad Izzy hasn't got it, that's what I hate more than throwing up and that's having to deal with someone else throwing up... I told Andy that it his job if Oskar throws up...lol... and that was before he was born!! Glad you're feeling better though. I was going to say the same as Karina re: togs... get 2 piece and wear a singlet top. Oh and boobs look great in a bikini I had one on when pg at around 7 months and OMG my boobs looked fab!!! There's a pic on the website under bubs I think it is.

Karina, big to you. It's awful when you can't stop it and make it better huh. We went to Gloria Jeans yesterday and had a coffee and a snack and the owners are friends of ours. Well, she was giving Oskar a cuddle when he just started crying... then he went into FULL BLOWN crying/screaming for no reason! Only thing I could think was either teeth or he was majorly over tired?? I ended up having to put him on my boob and that even took about 5 mins to calm him and even then he was still whimpering every now and then. I do hope that she cuts the tooth if that's what is bothering her. Good on you for saying something to DH as well. You're right, you need him.

I am having a dilemma, part of it is moral I think. My cat is getting beyond a joke at the moment and I can't stand it anymore! He is scratching things he's not meant to (and knows it), jumping on the table, biting my ankles when I walk up the stairs... and well there's the pee issue which is making me too afraid to have any bedroom doors (other than ours) open cos he's peed on 2 beds!! He's waking me up on average 1-2 times most nights and then sometimes he's disturbing Oskar and then I can't get back to sleep! I have no problem being woken during the night if it's Oskar or Joshua.. they're kids and it is for a reason, but I am NOT liking it cos it's just cos the cat feels like being a little so and so and almost every night! He's almost always done this so it's not a jealous of Oskar thing. He's recently started to scratch the draws in the bedroom. I am so close to giving him away it's not funny, hence this is my dilemma. I feel so awful, horrible and mean for even having that thought, but I just can't deal with this! The other thing which is stressing me is when Oskar starts crawling how do I keep his hands from being covered in cat hair?? I have to pick it off him now and I keep him away from where the cat is as much as I can. I already vacuum daily but he's a ragdoll and there's LOTS of hair! I'm just so unsure what to do. I love him, but he's also beyond a joke so often. I know if he wasn't here I'd miss him but at the same time I would just relish the peace and quiet and not being woken by him scratching my furniture and no cat hair! Am I awful for feeling like this and even having this thought?? Any advice maybe??

He is beautiful, even though he's a MAJOR PAIN! He's so cute. He does actually "play" with Joshua and Oskar if they're laying on the floor... it is a concern cos he runs at the head and jumps around so I have to keep chasing him away. He's never hurt him but it does worry me. I'm so torn about this atm that it makes me want to cry. My first concern is Oskar obviously.

Sarah - Hate it when people assume! should assume nothing, expect everything hehe!@

Karina - Feel loads better thanks, I never thought about buying 2 differnt sizes! lol, that seems so simple now, lol~ i'll put the professional photo's up when i get them, there so gorgeous! and i got the CD with them so i can print of heaps of copies (which suits my very big family heaps) ... Hehe agree to the boobs looking great in a bikini, DP thinks soo too!

Cass - I agree, i hate throwing up, it feels awful! I hate being sick myself, but i can look after other people being sick, that doesn't worry me at all. Which is proberly a good thing because im going ot be a nurse, lol...Sorry about your cat there is not much adivce i can give, as i am not a cat person at all... But you'll make the right desion for you...

    Hugs back to ya Caro...

gotta run izzy needs her sleep, an i might lay down too!

Cass, I have no idea what to do about your cat. Such a tough one I think. I have to say though, it would concern me if he likes to play with Oskar because he could scratch or hurt him or something. Our cat used to live outside at night usually. We had a big verandah and he would sleep on his bed there. Oh yeah I get a bit flustered when Claire screams at someone in public. People give you dirty looks and its like hello shes a baby , they cry!

Feeling much better today. Claire only woke at 4am last night instead of her usual 1, 3 and 5. I still couldnt sleep though. I kept on waking up!

LOL my hubby is such a dork! I was feeding Claire this morning and then all of a sudden, I can hear her laughing from the other room, so naturally I get really confused... turns out my hubby had recorded Claire laughing on his mobile phone and made it his ring tone, and had left his phone at home. I was quite amused, it probably sounds so dumb, but I couldnt stop laughing, but mainly because I was so shocked to hear Claire laughing from the other room when she was sitting right with me.

Oh yeah, I put more photos up on ym photo website!

Karina... PMSL! I would've been like... WTF?? Yep, it's harder to deal with the screaming like that in public cos you kinda feel under pressure to "fix" whatever it is ... yeah right they can tell you what it is!! NOT! ahhh well, we got there.

Cass, definitely a good thing re: looking after sick ppl if you're going to be a nurse!! Man, I'd be the WORST nurse...lol.

Caro, how much is it hun?? Email me.

Hi Brooke, great to see you. That's great that Lucas and Charli are doing so well! Good luck with ttc #3.

Cass - I'm know just how you feel about your cat, we have a ginormous dog (rhodesian Ridgeback) who is just the most adorable, gentle giant however he is such a sook and wants to be close to the kids, unfortunately he weighs over 40kg, is taller on his back feet than both me and Dh and had razor sharp claws. He is so careful with Ari but often reaches out with his paws and I am so scared he is going to paw her accidently. We have quite a lot of dog hair around. I often consider giving him up but could never follow though as he is as much part of our family as DS and DD. He now has a little bed made up in DS's room (he loves sleeping with the kids) which keeps him out of the living room where Ari is. Cat's are a bit harder, esp cats that pee. Is he fixed? Have you thought about contacting dr Harry :-) Oh saw those gates you were talking about. Picked one up today as I realised DS isn't going to be able to step over the old fashioned gates we have at the moment.

Karina - our girls must be in sync, Ari has grumbled most of the day and then screamed all night but on the upside slept really well last night and hasn't stirred yet touch wood.

It's getting way to late and have early swimming lessons tomorrow and Relay for Life all weekend. Speak to you gals on Mon

Brooke, great to see everything is going so fabulously!

Sarah, it does seem like our girls are cranky on the same days hey! Luckily she has been so happy today and went down to sleeep without a fight tonight. I just had to feed her and lie down wiith her. Ooooh I love lying down with her and snuggling her.

Had a great day today. I even went for a walk to see my dad at his work which is a few streets away from my home. They (a bunch of blokes!) went all gooey over Claire and one of them mentioned he and his wife are expecting another baby, so we talked about my new pram as he likes the look of it! I think I almost got offered a job, but I wasnt sure if they were serious or joking?? I really do need to learn how to read people a bit better!

When I was bathing Claire she starting drinking the bath water, lol. I dont think she was very impressed with it though as she got a little cranky.

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend! We're helping some friends move house tomorrow- at 10am! OMG thats such an early time for me to be out of the housse!

    Heylo everyone!
I've had such a long day! The kids woke us up at 5.30 this morning, and just couldn't get back to sleep! Pretty hard with 2 boys jumping all over the place!

Then i get a message from my friend that is 33weeks pregnant, she is in early labour! So i have been in the hospital most of the day, She's been contracting and bleeding since last night... Contractions are every 5-10mins... They have givin her steriod injections and so far 4 tablets to slow/stop the labour, but its not working... The nurses took us around to the special care nursery so she new what to expect (the babies in there were sooo small ) both the doctor and midwife have ran through with them what to expect as in what will happen in delivery and after, and both say within 24-48hours bubs will be here... Which is way too soon! I'm just soo bummed! i'm hoping bubs will hold off for another couple of weeks!

hope everyone else had a good day, hugz to all!
