Catherine, Paddy usually does those things when he's either got wind or is tired and needs help to go to sleep. In my experience teeth seem to sneak in without much notice, maybe a bit of a temp/grizzle just before they come through. A lot of things we attribute to teething is often developmental eg dribbling, putting things in their mouths.

Kitty I've been where you are . My first two woke ever two hours and it's hard work. Sometimes I would just go for a walk even though I was tired. My babies cries weren't as loud and it helped my clear my head. My DS1 wasn't much of a smiler in the early months. Even when he was older people would talk to him and he would just stare back at them. Nothing wrong but he still doesn't suffer fools gladly .

Macca when Paddy has catnaps I just try to resettle him. Sometimes I have to pick him up and cuddle him, other times I bounce his hammock. It doesn't always work coz he's just not tired . I've vowed this time to keep my sanity by not watching the clock. As long as you're watching those tired signs and putting him to sleep when he needs it then you're doing the best you can. He sounds like he enjoys spending time with his mum who's doing a great job at keeping him content.

Off to wake a sleeping baby so we can take his brother to basketball. The joys of being the third child, no one lets you sleep

Molly Jane sticks her fist in her mouth loads, but it is just her learning about her hands and also to self settle - we dont use a dummy, so if she wants to suck without feeding she uses her hands - its cute to watch, especially when her an Daddy copy each other, she is learning her hand mouth coordinaton well.

I dont think teething rings will work well at this stage, they are more designed for when kids are picking things up and sticking them in their mouths, which is still a while away yet... (thank god!)

Teach ikwym about waking - we have to wake Molly when we go out or pick up her big brother and she always falls asleep in the car, i feel bad when it is just a 10 min trip and we wake her by getting her out of the car seat... at least they wont have a rude awakening when they are older, they are use to being moved about often... possible will make them n=more adaptable (well i am hoping so anyway)

Molly is grizzy today, probably related to the injections yesterday, she just wants to be cuddled.
Want to hold off on the panadol until she is really uncomfortable, i have a thing about over medicating, prbably the nurse in me, but Panadol is such a dangerous drug and really can do damage if it is just too much... although it certianly has its place

can i ask a very personal question?

how are things down there? 8 weeks on and i'm still bleeding, have only had a total of 4 days with no bleeding.

I had a look down there yesterday and things look bad. I'm worried and am going to make a drs appt asap. i think i might have a prolaps

Am very excited as we bought a brand new slr digital camera today. WHen my nan passed away she left some money to us so we thought with all the pics we woudl be taking of WIll it woudl be a good investment. We have had a ball with it this afternoon and Will has shown off for us.
He dribbles a lot to and mouths a bit but I never imagined it would be teething I too have just put it down to development.Good lord my nipples could not handle teeth at this point *L* I think they need more toughening up.

SJ was going to ask you about the panadol werent they going to stop it being available over the counter ? Will has his needles on Wed and I was wondering if I should have some on hand just in case he gets a reaction or very unsettled. I too am a bit wary.
WHat sort of does does and 8 week old get anyway? I have had 100's of needles in my life but am not looking fwd to seeing Will have his. How cool you got to catch up with Jo it would have been lovely for you to chat and to meet Caitlin too,it would be great to meet any of the peeps on here.

Macca some days Will doesent have more than 20 min naps but makes up for the next couple of days. ONe of the mums where I work had a baby who from 3 weeks never slept all day but slept from 7.30pm till 6.30 am..she freaked and the health nurse and tresillian told her some babies just do this. They are all as different as babies as we are as adults and different things work and dont for them. I do hope you get some more sleep its not fun when you have to run on empty so to speak.

Hubby and I had the nicest day today as it was really sunny with just a light breeze we went and bought the camera then the Sunday papers and went to our local pub which has a beautiful fmaily friendly outdoor area. SO we sat and had lunch and read the papers while Will slept on in the warmth of the sun ( not direct sun of course) but it was nice fous to have some itme together as this used to be a fav thing ouf ours to do on a Sunday. Hope you all had nice weekends.

Danni I hope everything is ok does sound like you need to see the Doc. Cant really help as I had a ceaser and only bled for 4 weeks but I have read on other forums of people who bleed fo rup to 3 months. Hope its not the case for you.

We are about to be bombarded with 6 relatives including 3 kids under 5 for a week. THey are staying at my mums thanks goodness but thats just around the corner and we are expected around for tea and to do things...they are a bit over the top and very prone to judgment of EVERYTHING so I think I will be in for the third degree and lots of uninvited advice about Will. Wish me luck ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh relatives *L

I got 7 hours straight sleep last night! I think he's been cold, poor little thing. Even though I had him dressed warmly, it was only when i put him in two full bodysuits, a spencer and a sleeping bag that he slept through. and he's been sleeping all day... no playtime for him today. I figure he needs the sleep.

Thank you all for your kinds words It's good to hear other people are in the same boat. I think i was just getting paranoid about the development thing - i'd had my first mother's group on thursday and the way everyone was talking about their babies, you'd think they'd all given birth to the next Einsteins

Bron hope you are taking lots of photos with your new SLR! I have one and I endeavour to take a pic of Will every day (well, if he's not being a nightmare that is) Good luck with the relos! If you can make sure you go and visit rather than them visiting you, you can make an escape easier i.e. "Oh we have to go, Will is tired/hungry/grizzly/overtired". DH has done this a number of times :P

Danni I stopped bleeding after 5 weeks - but it was only heavy for the first 2 weeks. The teething rings i've been given said on them only to refridgerate, not freeze

sammie poor molly. I'm dreading having to take Will for his injections! Will's tired signs are really subtle and the only really noticable ones are the red eyebrows

catherine Will has been exactly like that the last couple of days. I noticed he wasn't burping after his feeds (he always has a burp and a spew (usually down my top - ewww)) i tried infacol and he eventually had an enormous fart. oh the noises babies can make!

Where do you go to get the needles? I need to book in for his 6/8 week checkup this week.

Will has been finding his hands this past few days... and using them to throw out his dummy!

Hi girls

quick one, as im still tired from my cold. i feel heaps better, tho steve has been sick himself, he's been looking after poopy and i got heaps of sleep, i think more than i did since the last trimester. been sleeping between feeds, and some feeds he gives him the bottle.
i had to take some anti-histamine last night, i was feeling really really bad. i took one after the last feed, and poopy slept from 10pm - 5.30am so i managed to get out of my system in the 6 hrs they said before his morning feed.

he;s been drooling a lot too, but i dont think he's teething. im not ready for teething! like bron said, nipples arent ready. even his gums now give me so much grief.

re baby panadol, the nurses recommended it when he had his jabs, i thought it would be ok. i gave him a dose that night cos he was out of sorts and the next morning. the nurses were good, 2 nurses gave him a needle each on each thigh, so he just felt it at one go. and they put on cotton wool with tape. he still has a bruise on each thigh tho.

will write more when brain's less fuzzy.

Hi all, just a short one from me am absolutely buggered.

Summer is drooling too and going for her hand, she isn't teething either.

Danni, My MIL and my Mum both had prolapse and it is extremely painful, they could hardly walk. You should go to the Dr and get it checked out though, i bled for 6-7 weeks with my others so that is probably normal but get it looked at. Could be a tear or damage or something ?? Teething rings are better when they can hold things themselves cos when they are teething they put everything in their mouth and chew the begeezuz out of it so it works well, they aren't meant to be frozen.

My weekend has been full on, hungover DH all day yesterday so i had to do soccer duty for Paige and Tahnie then paige filled in for another team so played another game then Tahnie had a party and today no sleep in as Codie played then horse riding all afternoon, had to ride a friends horse as mine could hardly walk he is the most accident prone horse ever!!! He is all bandaged up.

Has anyone got a really weak back still? Mine is really bad the last week, hurts to do anything.

I am off to bed so tired. Hope all your little bubbas sleep well tonight for you
