Sarah- Never thought of using the high chair just yet but i may give it a go... I think Tiahna gets sick of laying down all the time in the rocker or bassinette... Also i have been giving Tiahna some nappy free time usually when the house is warm with the heat on... she absolutly loves it... her face lights up... she kicks her legs about makes noises... i only let her have free time for 5-10 mins as her legs do get a bit cold. she also loves the bath also... hates getting out though...
Question... Do you all bath bubs daily??? I have been told that babies dont need to be bathed everyday just need a top and tail??? Would love to hear what you are all doing???

ROFL... i hear you the 2 nights when Tiahna slept from 12-6.30am killed my boobs but the 3rd night when she slept from 10.30-6.30 was horrible... i felt like they could just burst. i also need to learn to sleep when she does but i hate falling asleep then she wakes up an hour after... makes me feel more tired. hope things work out for you.

IKWYM about going to sleep then bub waking up an hour later, makes me more tired too. Juliette hates getting out of the bath as well so for the moment she's bathed only really once a week. If she has a monster spew or poo she gets done the as well, but pretty much just weekly for the moment. I figure it's very cold for her, it's winter so she's not getting sweaty & she's not crawling & getting dirty yet so it's all good.

Baby's got crazy arms! For the last week or so Aadi has been swinging punches and waving his hands in the air like he just don't care... LOL! He must be exhausted, he's so active. I wouldn't worry so much, but he's smacked himself in the face a few times so hard he cries, and he's getting scratches everywhere. It looks a bit scary.
Have had a bit of a difficult time at around 5.30 am for the last three mornings, with Aadi feeding at 4-4.30, resettling no worries, then waking an hour later grunting and kicking like he's constipated. I've tried rubbing his tummy and different holds, but nothing seems to relieve it. I'm not sure a bath is a good idea at that time... Then after an hour or so, he does such an explosive poo (OMG! what a mess!) the nappy would never contain it! I wonder if this is a milk protein intolerance thing, coz I've started eating cheese again (I dont usually eat dairy). I'll try and eliminate it for a few weeks and see how we go. I know it took me years to be able to tolerate dairy products when I was a kid, so maybe it's going to be the same for Aadi.

Sassy - good luck with the ultrasound. Hope there's nothing wrong. Personally, I don't like the sound of the implant, though I only know of one lady who's had one, and she hated it. More to the point, her family hated it. It turned her into a cranky, cranky mess! But whatever works for you!
Abb - poor Hamish! Hope he's feeling better real soon.
Deancey - congratulations! so good to find something that works for you. I hope it becomes a regular thing for you.
Alicia - meet-up sounds like a great idea. Good luck with Lily's shots. Let us know how it goes, and if she has any reaction to them (hope not!).
Jess - the ring slings are fantastic! It shouldn't hurt your back, though. Even though Aadi and I had a big sleep-in this morning, I need to get things done so I've put him in it and he's gone straight back to sleep. It's often the only way I can get him to sleep during the day, and I can take the whole thing off and put him down without waking him if I need to. But I usually put a heat-pack in his bed before I put him down, as he wakes up suddenly when he's away from the familiar warmth. He's purring like a kitten now, and I'm typing with 2 hands! I wouldn't use it for more than a few hours at a time, though, as I reckon it could be a bit of a strain. I get so many comments from people when I'm out with Aadi in the sling, when people actually realise I'm carrying a baby and not just a bag! Most handbags dont purr...

I dont bath Aadi daily, as there's no need, and there just doesn't seem to be the time! I do give him some nappy-free time as often as possible, usually when I give him a massage, but it is SO cold I can't do it for long. Maybe should get some Babylegs? just coz they're so cute...

Sarah - ROFL @ porn star boobs! oh, but it hurts, doesn't it?? and I get like that after 4 hours - oye! Dont know what I'd do if Aadi actually slept longer than that.

Alicia how did lily go with her needles abbie is getting hers tomorrow. i am scared poor thing.

deancy abbie sometime actually nearly all the time sleeps in her rocker she loves it and i don't think that she likes laying flat and its more snuggly. But as soon as school goes back( as i have been busy with lots of kids) i am going to get rid of the bassinette all together and start putting her in her cot during the day so that she gets used to it and this way she is not unsetted at night only during the day. Then once she is used to i wil put her in her cot at night time too.

Sarah idon't bath abbie every day either. Its too cold here and like you said they don't get dirty. She would love some nappy free time as she likes being naked my its far too cold she will have to wait till it warms up.

Jess yeah my sling does hurt my back after a while. I don't have to do it very often as i try and do everything while she is asleep its only if i have been slack and spent her sleep time on BB that i have to do it in the afternoon.

My boys are not too bad i think that they are getting bored at home and i need to venture out a bit more. Today i went to my girlfriends house for a play date and the boys were great!!! And since we have been home lachlan especially has been so good. Its only one day but i think that if i try and get out of the house more often then their behaviour might improve.

Abbie has to be the best baby, i dont' want ot jinx myself or anything but she is now sleeping through the night nearly every night. She will go to sleep about 9pm and sleep till 4am. Since she is a great sleeper she will probably be a horrible teether or toddler or something. lol...

So glad im not the only one not bathing daily... I bath Tiahna if she's been heaps spewy or try to every 3-4 days or so... just because she's had the bad rash all over her face.

I usually give tiahna nappy free time when the heat is on only cos she enjoy it so much...

NaNa- yeah tiahna has crazy arms aswell also a crazy head... her head is so strong and she always turns it from one side to the other looking around. Also looking forward to getting my sling... cant wait... glad to hear from someone who has one...

i went out looking for a dishwasher today.. Tiahna was GREAT jordan on the other hand not so good... i guess he just doesnt like shopping...

Sarah- we dont bath Hamish daily either, usually every 3rd or 4th day it is way to cold here to do it more often.
sassy - i have had the implanon and believe me it isnt worth it, i lasted about 10 weeks, i was bleeding the hole time and was very moody. I have heard the merina has more success.
lmk - hamish is the same he hates laying flat, i have his bassinet elevated but he enjoys the rocker best of all. I had tried him in the cot and he wouldn't settle but he isnt well so will try again when he is well.
Jess - glad to hear tiahna has settled down and you are getting some sleep.
deancey - it seems everyone's bub is over the arsenic hour, i hope it lasts for you and you get some well earned rest.

We had a not so good night last night, hamish didnt settle until 1.30am then woke at 3, 5,7,8.30, so i had not alot of sleep but i figure if he wants a feed i will feed him as he obviously needs it after a few days of trying to force it into him with no success. So i guess he is on the mend fingers crossed. Havent had to give him panadolat all today he seemed to be ok without it. He has fed and slept as normal but i am prepared for another sleepless night. He hasn't poo'd for a few days which is not like him, he normally goes 2 or 3 times a day, i can imagine what it will be like when he finally goes. It doesnt seem to be bothering him although his farts are leathal lately. lol
Best be off to try and get some sleep, dp has just given him his bottle so i should already be in dream land. Hope everyone gets a good sleep.

well I had a stuff up yesterday.... I thought it was clinic day so Lily could get her shots. We took panadol 1/2hour before, but when we got there, the clinic was in a different location and I was already too tired to go over to the other one..... so no shots, we will have them next wednesday!
We did have a meet up and it was great to meet another mum in my area. we both hope to make it a regular thing now.
well Lily had a really good sleep last night from 8pm to 1am.... unfortunately for me, I didn't sleep for much of that. And after that she was up every 3 hours exactly, which meant that I was only getting an hour and a half or two hours sleep :( Oh well.... I planned to go back to bed this morning while DH took care of Lily who didn't seem to want to go back to sleep (again!) but then he was called into work.... so I am now trying to rock her back to sleep so I can get some more too
Hope everyone else had an ok night.... on bathing, Lily has a bath every second day... she loves the bath and we try to do it during the day when the sun is coming through the window so when she gets out she can dry in the sun and get some nappy free time :)
Lily also has crazy arms when she is up... all over the place and it is unbelievable how strong she is now getting. She holds her head up for a little while and then trys to head butt!! Its so funny.. she got DH a good one the other day :) The other day in the bath she got a hold of my sleeve and wouldn't let go, I got quite wet !!!

Well today we had our 6 week check up. Tiahna has grown so much... She is now 56 cm long head 37.8 weight now 4.6kg Last check up she was 53long, 35hc and 4.2kg so a great growth and weight gain. and huge from her birth 3.25kg, hc33 and height 51.5

My GP's away for a few weeks so needles arent for another 3 weeks. scared already...

Had an ok day= (although the cold morning getting her to the GP was a nightmare) Tiahna has slept well, sounds like most of our bubs really like their rockers, i decided to put her in the rocker to sleep and then into the cot so she gets used to the sound and surroundings of her room, the first time she woke up in 15 mins but has now been sleeping in their for 2 hours... hoping that within the next few weeks she'll feel comfortable in their and wont need the rocker anymore... its quite cold (during the night) and noisy in her room (we live on a busy street and our rooms are in front) the sun come in during the day so it warms up nicely but soon cools down as soon as the sun goes.

She's becoming quite smart at working out when i'm not around her and she opens her eye to check... lol DP isnt comfortable being left alone with her- he's not good with this stage... loves the stage when they start playing more... i think he feels like he cant do anything to help them... it drives me insane especially when he doesnt even want to try... any tips on getting him to do more with her... she relys on me too much and wont settle with anyone else becasue she's always with me... i cant even take a shower alone... he come in with her crying and says she wont stop and i need to get out- "She must be hungry" its insane that he cant watch her for more then 5 mins...

Hi just a quick one abbie had her needles today. Poor little thing she screamed but was ok as soon as i picked her up. she now weighs 5.1 kg which is great. She has been really grumpy today and not very well at all. :( And i stopped bleeding 3 days ago so the doc said i should be right now, i tld him that if i start bleeding again i will be back. and he just laughed. I felt like saying i am not joking!

Well I got some awesome sleep last night. I fed Liam at 6.30 and went to bed at 9.30. He didnt wake till 12.30 and then 4.30. Jordan slept in till 8am and Liam woke at 8.30. I couldnt have asked for a better night sleep
Today I am off to see Mamma Mia the movie with a girlfriend I need some time out from the house/kids etc.

LMK Abbie sounds as though she is doing really well and glad to see the needles didnt phase her too much

LMK- Glad to hear Abbie's needles went ok... (i'm ***** scared about Tiahna's... i hate needles...i'm going to be a blubbering mess) last visit i had the cervical cancer needle (#1) have 2 more to go... Doc sprung it on me so didnt have time to stress out much...

Yesterday i went out and brought my B'day present to myself... ****A DISHWASHER*** :confetti: :cheer: :hooray: I'm finding i dont have enough time to get things done so anything to make life that little easier... (wish there was a machine that could scrub my bathroom

We intend to later on re-do the kitchen need new stove sink benches etc but to hard to be without it for too long- hard enough when DP tiles the floor... Anyways enough about that....

Tiahna had a FANTASTIC sleep last night and the night before... 10.30-5 on friday night and last night 11-7 WOW... the before arsenic hours not so great... Massive headache after her screaming inconsolably. (wish she'd take the dummy) And Sarah i know understand the Porn star boobs better then i thought i already had... This morning DP even comented on their size... they looked like i had implants they hardley moved from being so full... Poor Tiahna got a milk shower as soon as i went to put it in her mouth...

The arsenic hour is so stressful its nice to get a well deserved sleep... And what surprised me more was she went back to sleep and is still sleeping now... think the 3 hours of screaming really wears her out.

Dencey- YAY on your sleep also... sounds like a few of us are getting some nice sleep... The thing is with me Tiahna will do it for 2-3 nights then have a week of waking up 3-4 times a night.. oh welll still nice to get a catch up sleep...

Jess what a fantasic 2 nights you have had, apart from the arsenic hour. LOL at your boobs not moving from being so full. I hate that full and hard feeling. I hope she continues this pattern of sleep for you. Happy bday and well done on the dishwasher, I couldnt live without ours, its makes one job a lot easier.

Yesterday I went with my GF to see Mumma Mia, it was a fantastic movie. I think I will go again. It was so nice to get out of the house on my own, with a real handbag and not the nappy bag and NO PRAM. DH took the boys for a walk and gave Liam EBM whilst I was out and he had a great time with the boys. He has taken them out again this afternoon to do meat shopping and groceries. I decided to stay home....why not.

Deancey- your so lucky to have a DP who is comfortable with the boys... My DP cant last 5mins alone with the 2.... i went to pick Jordan up from preschool on Friday and left Tiahna with DP and i was a fight just to get out the door... He's usless when it comes to the kids... its driving me crazy..... Not sure what to do... He was starting to with Jordan but now with Tiahna he does nothing just like when jordan was little.There is no way i could leave the kids and go out like that... I envy you...

WOuld love her to continue the same sleep pattern but i'm not counting on it... She's been quite spewy today and done 2 massive poo's so she's settled down again after a sooky morning. Best be off- DP's in another bad mood and i need to sort out DS before he snaps.... GRRRRRRR!!!!!

Well Lily has also been sleeping quite well. Last night we had a 4.5 hour sleep then 3 then 3 but the night before we had 4 hours then another 4 hours... it was wonderful. I hope this becomes a regular thing now... :) My boobs don't get so big though....?? I seem to be making less in the last couple of days, though I haven't been drinking as much water as I should.... Lily usually drinks one boob dry and I try to express a little from the other each feed so I can have one bottle ready for the night so DH can feed. I am also trying to get enough ready to freeze for when I have to go back to work (yuck!)
Question - is it ok to mix b/m and formula...? I am thinking about when I go back to work (5 days per fortnight) she might need to be suplemented with formula...??? I will b/f when I am home but if I don't have enough stored, DH may have to feed formula while I am at work. Any thoughts would be appreciated!
Happy Birthday Jess and yay on the dishwasher.... (jealous) we have no where to put one so I am the dishwasher :) and sorry to hear that your partner is not comfortable with the kids..... I am very lucky DH loves spending time with her.... he would love to be a stay at home dad if we had the money!
Best keep going with the washing... Lily had a big spew in her cot this morning so had to wash all the blankets....

ALicia it is def ok to give both BF and formula. You may find however if you are missing some feeds whilst you are at work and not expressing your supply may drop and you may not be able to do every feed when you are home. If you can express the feeds you miss and even if you dont get enough for a entire feed you can add what you express over a few days together, as long as its used within 5 days of the 1st expressed milk. (EBM can last 3-5 days in the fridge.) I am going back to work in sept and will be expressing. I will buy sachets of formula incase I cant make up an entire feed as buying the tin is a waste as you need to use it all within a few weeks and if its only a few feeds you end up throwing a lot out.

Jess I am sorry you dont have the oppurtunity to leave with DH and get out on your own. Maybe you just need to leave him for even 15 mins for a walk and then gradually increase your time away. You certainly need some time away as 2 is hard work. I cant tell you how much more relaxed I am for having a few hours to myself.

DH came home and Jordan was asleep so he is still in bed, Liam was overdue for feed but so content to wait. I fed him and he is now asleep also. Dinner is in the oven so now its just chill and wait for Jordan to wake. I dont think I will let him sleep past 6.30 as we will never get him back to bed tonight otherwise. Cant wait for BB eviction tonight. I really like the show when its in the final weeks. I want Terri to win, does anyone else watch it?

Well i'm off this arvo to pick up the dishwasher with DP... and he'll install it for me now that he has removed the shelving for it to fit in... cant wait sick of doing dishes and not getting any help or even a night off... I'm the dishwasher and dryer.... :rolleyes:

As for DP being usless... maybe i was a little harsh... he loves the kids and does love spending time with them but only when there behaving it seems... If Tiahna needs changing, bathing, dressing, feeding, comforting, etc he's no where to be seen... With our first i understood a little more as it was #1 and it was all new (but it was to me aswell...) Now i feel he should be able to cope better and be more supportive and help out... maybe i need to be more forceful and MAKE him helpout... i found reverse phycology (spl) works well with DS maybe it will work with him... lol... I just feel like when Tiahna is having her arsenic hours and jordan is acting up like i could just lose it...

Anyways thats my whinge...

Tiahna slept like a dream last night, had a BAD arsenic period but once i got the wind up and settled her down she was asleep by 11.15 and didnt wake till 5 cant ask for better then that... She fed and went back to sleep til 7.45 and has now fallen back asleep. She has been quite spewy and their projectile power vomits so not sure if that is contributing to her unsettledness and increased feeding... My boobs just cant keep up at the moment (but not sure if its cos of no feeds during the night)

best be off, need to shower while she's sleeping. I got my sling today and want to give it a go wo were off to the park

Hope you all had a nice weekend. Sounds like you're getting some sleep at last - good for you! I wish it were the same here, but no such luck. This boy just wont sleep! Saturday night he was awake and wanting a feed every hour and a half! AARGH! So Sunday was a bit of a write-off. I stayed in my pjs practically all day but didn't get any more sleep. Aadi napped for maybe an hour or 2 altogether all day. Last night he threw up everything I fed him and then refused to sleep until 10pm. Got 3 hours, then 3 more, but then it was just 1 hour followed by another hour or more of grunting and farting. Charming!! But I'm not complaining. He doesn't cry or make a fuss. We don't really have the arsenic hour at our place, so it's all good. Aadi just knows when I'm starving, and that's when he wants to be fed too, it seems!
Had a visit to the MCH nurse on Friday, and the nurse printed out the centile chart for us, so we could see what a huge growth spurt Aadi's had in the last 2 weeks. Like I couldn't see it already!! He's 59cm long, head's 39, and he's heavy at 5.425kg now. That's 2kg since birth. I had to go and get more clothes for him because nothing would fit him anymore. She asked me if he's smiling yet, and I told her he's been laughing and chuckling at us for at least 3 weeks now. Apparently that's advanced... I don't know. He's hilarious. It just makes DP get all teary when he gets home from work and Aadi recognises him and gives him the biggest smiles and giggles. Sweet.
Jess, I'm sorry to hear you cant leave Tiahna with your DP for more than a few minutes. That must be frustrating. I wish I could offer some advice, but I don't know... it seems common that a lot of guys dont really bond with their babies until they're a bit older and at the playful stage. It's a real shame, because there's so much wonderful stuff happening now in your baby's life and it's not good if daddy's going to miss out on all that. I practically forced the issue with my DP when he got a bit antsy at first and kept handing him back to me every time he moved. I got a bit stroppy and instructed him how to hold, change and comfort our baby because he is OUR baby, not just mine. Just because I'm Wonder Woman and I CAN do everything, it doesn't mean I always want to!! ROFL! I still dont go out and leave Aadi with DP but that's only because I don't really have anywhere to go of an evening. But they will sit and play together whenever they can and it gives me enough time to go and cook dinner or finish whatever I started during the day and didn't get done! Or at least have a bit of time to myself, which is nice.
So glad I don't have to think about going back to work anytime soon. Not that I have a job to go back to (coz I was fired for being pregnant!) but I would hate to have to think about it now.
Enough babbling from me. Time to do something productive with my day!

We had dp parents with us for the weekend which was nice as they had not seen Hamish since birth, they couldnt get over how much he had grown and ofcourse how gorgeous he is.:D
He is alot better now but still not sleeping as long as some of your babies, i am having trouble getting him to bed at night, no more arsenic hour but he seems to be very hungry. I fed him at 9 and thought ok time for bed around 10 after burp and nappy change, so off to bed i went around 10.30 thinking he was settled for the night but oh no he was hungry at 11.15, 2.30,6 and then 9. So no big sleeps for me, he has been like that for a few days so i am hoping it is just a growth spurt and he is hungry.
We have our 6 week check at dr this afternoon and visit to mch tomorrow as i had to cancel his appointment last week when he was sick.

Jess - I know exactly what you mean with your dp not helping out with the kids, my ex (dd father) was absolutely useless, one day when she was around 3 months old i had enough, it was a saturday morning and i hadn't been out of the house all week i had breakfast, fed dd changed and put her down for a sleep when he was in shower i went into bathroom told him all in one breathe without letting him interrupt me that i was going out and would be back at 12 dd had been fed etc that i had written down everything he needed to know and turned and walked out of bathroom straight out of house into car without looking back (actually i dont think i actually started breathing until i was down the road). It was the hardest thing i ever did but honestly it was the best, when i returned he was feeding dd a bottle and they were bonding really for the first time. For me i never enjoyed those few hours as i cried nearly went home meany times, it was so stressful but it opened up a window. I think before this he was nervous and scared around dd if she was unsettled or upset as he was not sure he was unsure how to comfort her and when left on his own he had to deal with it as i wasnt there. This was an extreme measure but you sound like you are probably at the stage i was, where the men need a wake up call. Good luck with it.
Nana - I think Hamish can smell the food, he is the same as aadi when i am about to sit down and eat he is hungry. Hope you get more sleep soon, its frustrating i know.
Alicia - Hamish has 1 bottle of formula every night and i bf through the day, so yes its fine to mix.
deancey - I am taking my mum to mumma mia friday night, i cant wait. My first outing without dd and i am shouting mum for all the help she has given us. SHould be good night.
Lmk - we just had our 6 week check today at dr and i booked in for ds needles:(, i have booked when dp can come as i am a sook. Poor babies.

We have MHN app today. Liam now weighs 6 kilo he has put on 1 kilo in 4 weeks which I am pleased about. He is a kilo lighter than Jordan was at the same age. He is also doing well with his tummy time and observation skills.

Hello all

Thanks for all your support regarding my B/F drama..... I am still B/F which is nice, I just couldn't stop it yet, it still hurts a little with the thrush but I am getting used to it and it is starting to clear up a bit now too. :D

Zali is getting her 2 month immunisations tomorrow.... I am not looking forward to that at all.

Well I think I have been overfeeding Zali... not knowing her signs.... but I now realise that she sucks her hand when she wants to go to sleep.... she is not hungry after all. She now feeds every 3-4hrs during the day and not 2hrly like I was feeding her. She does not vomit half as much now too which is great. She has been sleeping like a dream lately, yesterday she slept for 4 1/2 hours by the end of it my boobs were so sore she just moved and I was like that will do, wake up and feed!!!

Last night we got a 7hr sleep through and the night before we got 6 hours so I am feeling great as I was becoming quite rundown.

I am really lucky though as DH since her birth has been really hands on and took her to his work for an hour so I could get some sleep and then yesterday I got to go to the shops by myself (such a pleasure) while he looked after her.

I also have a great MIL who looked after her while I went for a 2hr massage on Friday... (bday pressent from her) it was just blissful.

NaNa - Zali went through a period of no sleep or only sleeping for 20 mins at a time, I thought she was hungry all the time and fed her each hour but later realised it was just wind and she wanted to suckle as it made her feel better at the time, but made things worse afterwards with vomiting and more wind. So I know give her the dummy and just pat her back and bend up her legs so she can fart easier. I also bought Brauers Colic Releif which is homeopathic formula and WORKED WONDERS for her, she now sleeps for hours on end which is great for me and her!!

Jess happy Belated bday - good work on the dishwasher, ours is broken ATM and is just so much of a pain to have to wash dishes, I have 2 nights worth sitting on the bench now as we only have one plug and we are using it to soak clothes ATM.

Well bub just woke for a feed so I will have to catch up with everyone else another time.

I feel like I hardly ever get a chance to post in here anymore. I'm around & reading but just don't quite get a chance to post. Everything is going ok here. Juliette had a rough day yesterday though, didn't sleep much & was awake for 2.5 hours last night screaming because she was over tired. Now today she's very colicy so we're struggling. Luckily Aaron is off Thursday & Friday (doesn't want to be in the city for World Youth Day!) or I'd go mental this week.

Had an absolutly AMAZING nights sleep last night... After the usual arsenic hour and grumpy period i finally got tiahna to sleep by 10pm (nice an early for her... I thought we'd have a bad night but she slept til 7 this morning... :cheer: Cannot complain with that even if it doesnt happen again... I've noticed she has 2-3 good nights in a row then 2-3 bad nights... but its so great to get a catch up sleep...

Huge porn star boobs this morning though... thought they;d be used to it but no... think its cos every night she wants to feed constantly... She feeds then 1/2 hour after watnts more its a constant cycle... I've been trying the dummy but no luck still.. She's been quite spewy still... i just coped a huge projectile down the front of me... But i think in the mornings i make too much of the watery milk (not sure if it has a proper name... Its like she throws up then wants more later and that seems to help settle her down...

Tiahna has been having quite a few smily periods and spending more and more time playing the last few days... SHe used to only last 5-10 mins on the play matt before she got cranky.. now she can last 10-20 mins

Abb- thanks for the suggestion... My DP would have a fit if i did that... he wouldnt cope at all... He cant change nappies, and Tiahna refuses a bottle ATM... so i;d come home to a wet hungry baby... I've been making him take her during the arsenic hours (although he can only handle 5-10 mins of her screaming) but i have started dragging it out... going to the loo, putting on the washing, doing dishes, having a shower etc just so he has to TRY to help her... Thats what makes me so angry he just doesnt TRY... He gives up and put her down and says to her " just cry cos i dont know what to do" it frustrates the HELL out of me... I'd love it if he could just give things a go without me having to yell at him when it gets to hard for me to deal with.... By then its kinda too late... I will be more upfront with him though... i think he needs that confrontation to kinda make him shape up...

Deancey- WOW 6kg thats awesome... doesnt it make you feel great when they progress really well. I love seing a weight gain while i'm breast feeding... puts my mind to ease...

Mecil- Thats great you've interpreted Zali's signs and now she's doing well... My DP is always telling me Tiahna's hungry (also sucking hands) when she's just been fed... I found with the colic it seems to sooth her a bit, also when she gets tired she also does it... YAY on the big sleep also.
Dishwasher id FANTASTIC... My kitchen looks clean all the time... (just need to train DP and DS to put things in it instead on on the sink... :rolleyes:

Sarah - sorry to hear you have been having a bad time with juliette- hope things get better and she settles dwn for you.

Well Tiahna is now sleeping again and DS is still asleep (WOW thats a shock) so i'm off to get the washing done and have a shower. Hi to all that i missed..

Mecil - It's great that you're still breast feeding! I hope the thrush clears up for you soon, it must be so annoying! Not to mention painful. Hopefully everything will get better and you can continue with it for a long time, because it's just the best thing and a beautiful way to connect with your baby.
How did things go with the immunisation?
Things have settled down with Aadi this week, and maybe I was over-feeding him on the weekend and that caused the wind and discomfort, but he is definitely having a feeding frenzy and growth spurt. And I heard "neh" every time... I totally forgot that I had a bottle of homeopathic remedy for colic/teething/irritability etc (general baby formula), as I'd put it away with the immunisation remedies I have. I've given Aadi some, and he's back to "normal", but I think the weekends with DP home really disrupts our little routine, and that caused a lot of the problem. Weekdays are like clockwork otherwise, and he's even sleeping more now. Not quite 5 hours at a time, but we're working on it!!

Sarah - how's things going now? Hope Juliette's settled a bit, and you're coping ok! Don't go mental!

Jess - wow, congratulations on the sleep! (jealous much?) and a dishwasher! Awesome.
I saw a bit of this program yesterday on community TV here in Melbourne called Room to Grow, which is all about babies, parenting etc. It's hosted by a guy and has mostly dads on it. They had a nice bit about how fathers can bond with their babies, and I thought of you, Jess. They haven't put the list up on their web page yet (roomtogrow dot tv), but it was basically easy things like doing the midnight feed (if u can give a bottle), changing a nappy now and then, singing and dancing, connecting through music (my DP sings Aadi the French world cup football song and off-key reggae!), playing at baby's level, giving baby a bath, skin-to-skin contact, and just being involved. That's great if you can manage some interest, I guess, but there's the challenge of getting him involved... but it might help if it were to come from another guy, coz otherwise whatever a woman says invariably sounds like nagging! lol! Do you know any other dads?

Jess - i dont think i would do it again now i was 12 years younger and really under the pump and obviosly our relationship was rocky but it worked with him at the time. I am lucky this time round (being 12 years later) that Dp is nothing like my ex. Although he still needs me to ask for help, i sometimes think he believes i am wonder woman and i find myself saying hang on a minute i may look like i can do everything but sometimes a hand would be good. Good luck with it as i know how hard it can be.
Nana - glad to hear things have settled down for you this week. I am thinking i have over fed Hamish aswell, he is not a spewy baby but the last few days he has been after nearly every feed, he has fed every 2 hours sometimes 1.5, and at night too. Yesterday i started thinking maybe he is not hungry and gave him his dummy more regulary.
Mecil - I hope things keep improving for you.

We had our mchn visit this morning and Hamish now weighs 11'3 (5.1kg) he has put on 650g in weeks which is great as in that time he was sick. He is 54.5cm long. I am very pleased he has grown so much.

Best be off to get some dredded house work done.

Ok now whilst both babies are sleeping I shall try to do a proper update!

I took Juliette to the ECHN today & my dainty little girl (hahaha) is 6.1kg and 59.5cm long. She is growing so well & it makes me proud because I know that it's entirely me that's making her grow :D Everything else is all good with her, the nurse was quite impressed! She went really well for the rest of the day as well... Zander saw that there was a Dora show on & we just *had* to see it, so we waited half an hour for it to start, then the show went for 45 minutes. Juliette was perfect, slept until the show started then she was due to feed which we managed in public with stacks of people around (2nd time ever woo).

Yay for a big weight gain Abb, sounds like Hamish is going brilliantly.

Sorry to hear poor Aadi had a rough weekend, but sounds like you've got it all figured out now.

Yay on great sleeps Jess, go Tiahna!! Yay on the dishwasher, they are fantastic aren't they!

Hi Ladies

well went went great guns today with the immunisations..... Zali was due for a sleep so she was already a bit whingy. They gave her a jab in each bum cheek, she cried for a minute then went straight to sleep and stayed asleep for 2 hrs. So relieved :D Just wait n see if there are any reactions.

Zali is now 63.5cm long and weighs 6.3kg so growing like crazy. She has been a bit more sleepy lately so must have been the growth spurt!!

i ordered some clothes from Pumpkin Patch online and they arrived today so we are going to play dress ups later, she is already wearing one of the little outfits And looks so grown up in it..... very cute. They had a 50% off sale so I got 8 Items for $120. Including jackets, Shirts, Jeans, Pants, Jump Suits, Body Suit etc.

The dishwasher repair man came this morning, so we ae back in action using the dishwasher...:dance:

Glad to hear all the bubs are growing at a great rate and doing well. Hope all the mums are going great as well. Don't forget to take some time out for yourselves too!!

Hi mommies.... we had our immunisations this morning... all very sad. She took the oral very well and then a jab in each leg. She screamed but only for about 30 seconds then all was ok. I was told to take the bandaids off after half and hour to ensure no reaction and I couldn't believe how much blood there seemed to be! But all seems ok.... no red spots. She had a screaming session for about 5 mins at 1pm (just when my visitors arrived!) but we all went for a long walk and she slept the whole way... right though feeding time. She was meant to feed at 2 to 2.30 she didn't until 3.30 and she went straight back down by 4pm... and she's still asleep! I can't believe it. I really hope it doesn't mean we have a bad night but she hasn't slept this much during the day since..well since she was 4 weeks old :)
Glad to hear that Zail to growing well and her shots went ok too.
Great to hear about Juliettes growth too... my appointment with the nurse is next week so looking forward to seening how much she has grown. It will be a lot as she fits all her 0000 clothes and even in to some 000 :)

hi EVERYONE
I am glad to see that the kids are doing well with their immunisations, we have ours booked for monday. I am terrible with them I cry everytime LOL what a sook.
Liam did so well overnight last night. DH gave him EBM at 7pm as I was leaving for dance class and I expressed when I got home. Liam then woke at 1.45 and then again at 5.30am. I was so impressed. He is really getting there with his sleeping overnight. I am not going to attempt dream feeding him as he wont eat if he isnt hungry, its a waste of time.
Tonight Liam settled really well, DH discovered last night he likes to sleep with the light on!!!!! So we put him into bed with dummy light on and he went to sleep almost straight away, we only had to go in twice BONUS. This seems to work well so we will stick with this for the time being.


Alicia I am glad Lily went ok with her needles.

Sarah well done on Juliettes weight gain, its looks as though Liam and her are the chubbas of the group :) Its nice to see a chubby BF baby. ALso well done on the public BFing.

Mecil well done on Zalis weight gain also and yeah on getting the dishwasher back in use. I hate doing dishes by hand.

Abb Hamish is also doing extremely well with his weight gain and glad to see he is better also

Abb- thats how i feel also... That DP thinks i am wonder woman... I was so upset when MIL came over to pick up DS for a visit and ended up cleaning 1/2 the house after i had already tidied up... she re vacummed the floor, wiped down the kitchen (it was spotless but she still wiped it down. I admit i needed to dust (she wiped everything with a wet cloth), took DS's bed linin to wash at her house and brougt it back... and said to me "dont take offence i know how hard it is with 2 kids... i felt horrible that the house wasnt up to her standard of being clean and DP gives me no time to get it done. The yard is a MESS, DP has dug out the footing for the cement (garden shed) he's covered the grass with top soil to even out the lawn so he can set up DS's swings and have a flat ground and her comment was " how can you live like this i have tennants who keep their homes btter then this" i felt like crying when he got home... - she knows what DP is doing out there and knows its temorary... GRRRRR i was so angry... - she blamed the dogs for lack of grass... even though we have told her 100 times its top soil to level it out... i cant win... sorry for the whinge.

Sarah- wow on juliette's weight gain... she must love the booby... lol cant wait to see Tiahna's growth next visit. Dishwasher would be great but we have a block drain issue so we have to watch the water usage until the plumber can get here... yet another water issue for the new house... :rolleyes:

Mecil- Bargin on the clothes... I love dressing Tiahna in beautiful clothes. sometimes the all in one suits are easier but its nice to put her in little outfits- i'm loving the tights and dresses ATM... wish her feet would get a little bit bigger so i can start using all the cute shoes i have brought... (love shoes)

So happy everyones needles have gone well... fingers crossed for Tiahna's i'm scared already

deancey- i'm a sook too... My GP used to do them for DS and i'd have to leave the room so 1 i wouldnt cry and 2 wouldnt pass out... (needle phobia)

wow there is so much to catch up on i will have to do personals later.

Well as you all know abbie had her needles on friday, she was whingy all day saturday and sunday which is unusual for her as she is usually such a great baby, as i was so busy over the weekend i had not bathed her until sunday and i wanted to take the band aids off in the bath so it did not hurt her so much. Well when i took them off she had had a reaction to the band aids:( her leg was all red and a bit raised. I felt like such a horrible person none of my boys had ever had a reaction to the band aids and i did not even think that would be why she was cranky. I though that she was maybe having a growth spurt or something. I feel so horribel:( her legs were all better by the morning so its just a reminder to everyone take the band aids off as i was never told to do so.

Abbie is heaps better now!

Jess i just had a quick read about your mil. Well i wish that my mil would come over and help me she is always at my sil and having her kids for the entire weekend. I would love some help as my dh has been working heaps and heaps. But i would feel annoyed if she re did things that i had just done. But there is NO way my mil would do my house work. just tell her i would or tell dh to say something goodluck

Jess sorry to hear you MIL had you feel upset. I am sure it wasnt her intention however its hard to accept criticism when you feel you are coping, especially from the ILs. I am sure you are doing a fabulous job. You should see the dusting needed at my house, your MIL would prob faint.

LMK I have never heard of reaction to bandaid. I am glad Abbies leg is better though, poor little thing.

Well Liam was good today. Woke at 11pm for feed last night, then 3am then 7am. I can so handle that. He did so well at playgroup. He slept and then layed content in pram and got passed around. He slept on the way home and transfered to bed well. Jordan has also gone for sleep this arvo so I am feeling good having some ME time again as the last 2 days have been no sleep for Jordan.

Jess - omg i would have been so p***** off with your mil. You would think as a mother herself she would realise what it is like with a new born. My mum always told me a happy baby is more important than a clean house.
Lmk - dont feel bad about abbie's leg you were not to know, am glad it is better now i am not looking forward to the needles, have made appointment so dp can come as i am a sook.

mecil - i have just had a look at pumpkin patch online, i love there clothes but must admit always have better girls stuff than boys. But in saying that i still managed to find a few things i like.
Sarah - wow juliette is certainly putting on weight famously well done. I love chubby babies.
Al - i will be happy if hamish only has a 30 sec scream after hi needles, thats great. Seems no bubs have had a bad reaction so far.

We have had 3 good nights, i hope i am not going to jinx it. Hamish has slept very well, usually around 5 hours then feeds and back to bed with no hassle for another 4 hours. I can certainly cope with that. He is alot happier and healthier. But dd who has had a cold for a week or so now has an ear infection in both ears. So i have had her home from school for few days.
Hope everyone has a great weekend and the weather improves so we can all venture out in some sunshine for a change.

Well it finally happened... My dog had her puppies yesterday... Was so scared expecially when the first one unfortunatley didnt make it... (the first 4 cam out butt first so i think the first one took to long to come out and suffocated... :( it was a male and the only brown one of the litter. She had 6 in total so we now have 4 girls and 1 male all black... their soooo cute and tiny... i'm in love already but i know we couldnt possibly have any more dogs. :(

Tiahna was great on the weekend.... i'm getting used to having a grumpy bubs... she has fantastic happy periods but unfortunatly are short and far between. But thats ok her sleeping is making up for it... Yesterday she was all over the place and she didnt settle into any routine... (not that we really have a set one) she just wouldnt feed long enough to settle down and get some good sleep in until about 6pm and when she was still asleep by 9 i knew it would be a bad night... but ended up not too bad... i dream fed her at 10.45 when i went to bed was awake by then end but after a nappy change and a burp she fell straight back to sleep. woke again at 2 then 5 then 7 so not too bad...

Jordan 's at preschool today so nice and quiet i have time to look after Tiahna and the dogs and still have managed to get things done...

It wasnt so much that she was cleaning up but just the attitude, like she has to keep saying "dont take offence but i'm cleaning this now" and the whole time i was thinking "i cleaned that before you got here, or i vacummed before you got here" i could understand the dust, i admit it was a shocker but to take off DS's sheets and take them home to wash, comment about the back yard etc... i dont need the ***** ATM... She has a cleaner once a week and her house is SPOTLESS... but then again she has a 4 bedroom house for 2 lounge and formal lounge and dining area.. our house is small 3 bd lounge and dining in one plus the computer in the same room... of course things dont always look clean cos its so cluttered in the one room...

Abb- Sorry to hear about DD but YAY on hamishes sleeping...
Deancey- glad Liam was good at playgroup... am looking into playgroups in our area or a mothers group type thing... jordan just needs to get out of the house i think and i cant afford $55 a day for preschool while i'm not working.

Not having a good day here at all :( I'm at work & Juliette just does not want daddy to give her a bottle. I'm getting pornstar boobs (last feed was at 4.30am) and I'm going to have to express in a freezing cold office soon (I won't do it in my warm office because it has windows to our shop!). I thought I would be ok leaving her the first time, but nup, I just want to go home to my girl.

She had her needles yesterday & didn't cope real well. She screamed & screamed for so long afterwards, the only thing that calmed her down was a BF. Then she wanted to sleep all day, I had to wake her for all of her feeds & even then I was leaving her an hour past her usual time. She was in so much pain in the afternoon too so she had her first dose of panadol which really helped.

Other than that she is still going well. I get to show her off to Aaron's aunt this afternoon too :)

Sarah- WOW at being back at work... Your so brave... I'm totally NOT ready yet... i go back in December and i'm thinking of increasing my Maternity leave... I dont want to leave my princess at preschool... I guess the first few times are going to be tough... How many days are you working???? What hours are you doing?? That sucks about the cold office... Not sure how i'd go expressing at work... but i'd like to still be BF when i go back... so i guess i'll have to find somewhere quiet to do so... (dont think there is really anywhere i could do it without showing the whole office.. (except the loo... YUK) WOW your so close to me... didnt even notice you were from around the same area... sorry to hear Juliette didnt cope well with her injections... I'm getting nervous hearing about everyone else's bubs going through it... I hate them myself... worse making my babies go through it... :( but its for their health...)

We had another all night sleep last night... thought it was going to be a disaster but ended up ok... SHe slept from 6-8 and i bathed her so she'd stay awake and stretch out the feed... she went really well but didnt settle back down after her feed. I tried several times to put her down once she fell asleep in my arms but she woke up again crying.. finally sound asleep by 11 and woke up at 5.30 for a feed and slept again til 8. Dont care if the days are bad when she sleeps like that...

DP laid the concrete for the shed today.. nearly killed him and his dad... (not as fit as he thought he was) lol so funny to see them slogging it out while i watched the kids in the warm house... :cryinglaugh: my reward for not getting any help with the kids...

Sarah sorry to hear Juliette didnt want the bottle or that she didnt handle the injection to well. Well done on expressing at work to continue the BF relationship. It can be hard work. I did it for about 10 months with DS#1. I was back at work when he was 3 months and expressed everyday for about 10 months until he was only having 2 feeds morning and night. Its hard work but SO rewarding.

Jess Hope the puppies are doing well. It is hard to leave bubs the 1st few times. I cried the 1st day I went back to work with DS#1 and I dont think it will be any diff this time either, even though DH will be home with the boys.

Well Liam has been a good boy today. He fed well overnight and had EBM this afternoon. He is taking a bottle every 3-4 days so he knows how to do it when I go back to work in just over a month.
He is starting to really chuckle at things now which is gorgeous. He was laughing at New Mcdonalds farm this morning when Jordan was watching it, so cute.
Enjoying some quiet time as now DH has woken up from the couch he has taken Jordan for a walk and Liam is asleep.
I have done so much housework today I needed some peace.

Work today was just a once off really, I work with my mum & she's on a cruise (lucky thing) plus two others were off so I went in. I was doing Friday & Saturday until Juliette was born and will go back to that eventually. Today was 7am - 12pm though, nothing too long & I might start back on that in the next few weeks. The kids stay home with daddy so there's no stress there. I managed to express 220ml but would have gotten heaps more except I only took one bag for the pump, it was a big strange sitting in my boss' office with my boobs out though LOL!

Jess, we should organise to get together one day, the boys would love running round with each other I bet.

Yay for the great sleeps, sounds like most of the bubs are getting this sleep thing down pat.

Anyway, I'll be off, have to spend some more time with my babies :D
